at 29 years old, i am now confident in saying frat parties suck, but i do miss the commitment to a Bit
#some of the most incredibly ~niche~ parties i’ve ever been to#i went to one once that was a ‘wedding’ and they separated people into bachelor and bachelorette parties with strippers#and at midnight they had a five minute ceremony and then there was a reception#my weirdest though was a wake that they held annually for a different member#i got invited as a date by someone that i never met - we all had to wear black and sit in the dirty basement#we watched a two hour home documentary the guys spent putting together of the dearly departeds life while he sat in a coffin#there was an intermission and they plied him with alcohol the whole time#i then watched that man and his friends run for local government and one of them was my parents rep for years
