You had barely shut your eyes to go to sleep for the night when Ludwig decided that he needed to talk to you right now. You lifted your phone from the side of your bed you kept it on, opening the message stream to glance if it was anything important. It wasn't. You continued to lay in bed,  holding your phone against your chest instead, contemplating putting your phone on silent and just going to bed.

(1:20) Ludwig: you just read my messages

(1:20) Ludwig: so YEA

(1:21) Ludwig: yoooooou're up

Ludwig started a call with you

The now steady buzzing had you irritated and you sleepily swiped the answer button,  knowing your fate would just be more and more calls until you picked up.  Your voice was hoarse and quiet.

"Lud, it's one in the morning... what could you possibly-"

"Shh sh shh. I was- I was streaming and I may be a feeeeew, maybe more than a few, beers in and the stream is over,  right, but I... I was in bed and I was thinking about you and-" He continued to ramble, becoming randomly incoherent at times, definitely drunk or almost there.  "I just... really miss you and you should come sleep in here."

If it wasn't so heartfelt, despite how inebriated he was, you might have laughed over how pathetic he sounded. Before you could say anything, he continued. "With me. I miss you... miss you so muchhh..." His voice was slurring.

"Lud-bug, I think you're in the wrong bedroom?" You sat up and stared at the closed door. It wasn't out of the ordinary for Ludwig to message you when streams were going late and talk to you while you were still up, even send dumb selfies or clips from stream when shit was going funny- but this was a first. Almost crying because of how much he missed you when you were literally in his bed.

"Huh?" You could the shuffling of fabric as you assumed he stood up, mumbling, "oh. Mother fucker." Click. The door swung open and he leaned against the doorframe, acting like he hadn't just been laying in bed with one of your roommates. "Well hello there... you come here often?" At this point you were laughing, covering your face in the darkness of the bedroom, watching him take off his shirt and kick the door closed with his foot.  He quietly cursed at how loud it was when it slammed.

"What are you-" With all of his body weight, he pushed you back down on the bed and nestled his face against your shoulder, humming. He didn't quite reek of it, but he definitely smelled like beer. "You are crushing me a bit here."

"Don't wanna crush you..." You could feel his body shudder with a held-in yawn, wrapping his arms around you and pressing himself into your further. Ludwig mumbled something unintelligible and started to press lazy, sloppy, kisses into your skin while his feet worked to pry off his socks.

"You know, it'd be much easier to kiss me if you were under the covers." He nodded and mumbled something about you being right, so right always so right, as rolled off of the blanket to throw it into the air and roll smack back against you. Immediately he nestled right against you with his arms around your torso, legs and freezing feet tangled up with yours. He could barely get another kiss or two on your skin before you could feel the even breath (and drool) of a sleeping Ludwig.

You stifled a quiet laugh, fishing your phone out from your side and placing it back onto the nightstand.

This is kinda revolutionary? Just a few years ago destiel was queerbaiting fans to superhell but now? NOW? A show saw the fans HC a character as queer with valid evidence and instead went "you know what? You're right. We didn't originally plan this for them but we see you". Then four episodes into the season, canonized his queerness. Not the last second, Not the last Episode. the BEGINNING of the season, with time to expand AND we know we're getting another season after this. Just look how far we've come.

you ever be over stimulated but lonely? and you only have that one person who can be the person with you because anyone else would be too much? i feel like hasan would be able to teeter that line on a bad day.

it was a long day. the sun had long come and gone and despite the fact that the house was full, you felt empty. there was a party going on for, you thought, Austin's birthday. you loved Austin, but you just didn't have it in you. you could hear the music faintly from your blanket cocoon and through the door... maybe some laughter. you let out a heavy sigh, not even Kaya was with you, enjoying the attention she was absolutely getting down from everyone downstairs. you looked down at the buzz of your phone, unlocking it to see a message from Hasan on discord. 'hungry?'

before you could answer and tell him not to worry about it, about you, and to just enjoy the party going on downstairs, you heard the door open. the blanket got tugged just far enough down to expose your head and shoulders. "hey, brought your favorite."

you grumble, "there's no way you have chicken alfredo lasagna," and go to tug the blanket back over your head.

"if you'd take a look, that's literally what i have. what do you take me for, the worst partner in the world?" you sat up, throwing the blanket off of most of you, to see him standing there with a plate of...

"holy shit?? why do you have that - give it to me!" Hasan stepped back, holding the plate of your beloved chicken alfredo lasagna. you popped up onto your knees and he brought it even higher, away from you, a shit-eating grin starting to spread across his lips. "you are insufferable, give me the lasagna!"

"i was gonna say i wouldn't give it to you until you got out of bed, but you're about to climb me like a tree here, Garfield." you fell back onto your butt on the bed, crossing your arms, embarrassed. he sat down next to where you were on the bed, putting the plate beside you. "hey."

you didn't really want to look at him, but he placed his hand on his knee and lightly stroked at the bit of exposed skin. he repeated, softer, "hey."

you exhaled slowly the huge breath you had been holding in before looking up at him and directly into his eyes. he still had that shit-eating grin on, like getting you to look at him was a bet that he won. the longer you stared at his freckled cheeks, the slight crinkles around the eyes just past the lenses of his glasses, a tiny smile started to break out on your own face. he leaned forward and pressed his lips to your forehead. "there you are."

you reached your arms out and pulled yourself up and against him, wrapping as tightly around him as you could. Hasan reciprocated, bringing you in tight for the hug and the contact you were probably craving all day. he smelled a bit like smoke and a bit like the other people downstairs, mingling perfume and cologne with what he wore under it all. you rested your head in the crook of his neck, eyes shut as his hand rubbed up and down your back. "are they mad at me?"

he barked out a laugh, "no, idiot, nobody is mad at you." you responded with a tiny noise and just held onto him tighter. "they may have eaten the rest of the lasagna as retribution for you not making an appearance, so i'd eat the piece i saved for you before someone comes up here sniffin' it out and eats it instead." he kissed the side of your face, holding it between his fingers to keep you there as you started to protest the too muchness of it all, whining about him being overbearing. a part of him that only you got behind closed doors. you accidentally smacked him, cocking his glasses crooked enough to where he couldn't see out of either lens. "alright-alright-alright, you win, stop before you break something."

your limbs disentangled from each other and you sat cross-legged again with him in front of you, fixing his hair and fixing his face. he stood up and over-wiped the front of his sweater and face like he was getting rid of your cooties before leaning down for one final kiss. you tilted your head to meet his lips with yours and you could feel your body relax, despite how quickly his lips had come and gone. "i'll check on you later. love you."

I think one of the reasons that Bridgerton season 2 hits especially hard for me is because the enemies to lovers trope, especially in a regency setting, made it so that Kate did not have to “fit in” in any way to get her romance.

The first time Anthony meets her, she’s riding astride. The first time they talk, she outright argues with him. He recognises it, Anthony himself says, “the rules are meaningless [to her]”. She calls him out when he assumes she won’t be able to manage a gun. She plays pall mall just like he does, with equal intensity, just as competitive. And that’s who he falls in love with.

Throughout the course of the story, she never has to change herself, dull her sharp wit, or chip away anything of her personality, for him to notice her and be attracted to her, for him to fall in love with her.

There’s no grand makeover, for him to finally notice her, because he’s always seen her for who she is, from the very first time they met and he began falling for her from that very moment. Her personality is not portrayed as a flaw that he loves her in inspite of, but rather the very core of the reason he is in love with her.

And in season 3, we see that marriage doesn’t change that either. She still banters with him, and he’s still going around telling everyone who will listen that his marriage is perfect.

Because, to be loved is to be known and Anthony has loved her from the moment they raced each other in that park and he’s known her as she is since then too.
