I really like to eat, therefore when the book Southern Living Ease Food found my desk I recently had to check on it out. Following skimming the list I see the foreword which is nearly as effective as the dishes!

One thing that I can’t stop eating this summer is these Paleo Baby Back Ribs. They are tender, juicy, and yes completely Paleo. My husband has used the same recipe for years for his ribs. Unfortunately, they were loaded with refined sugar and other not so healthy stuff.
So this summer I set out on a mission to prove he could make delicious ribs without all of the bad ingredients. These really hit the spot! They are so good you can eat them without any barbecue sauce. Everyone who tried them loved them.

The secret involves a dry rub, a braising sauce, and a slow afternoon in the oven followed by a short stint on the grill to finish them off.
We had these with my homemade Paleo Applesauce and my kids favorite vegetable the green bean. Enjoy!

2 whole slabs pork baby back ribs
Dry Rub
8 tbsp Coconut sugar
3 tbsp Himalayan Pink Sea Salt
1 tbsp chili powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp old bay seasoning
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp dried thyme
Baking liquid
1 cup sugar-free white grape juice Or White Wine*
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp coconut aminos
1 tbsp honey
2 cloves garlic
Instructions
Season Ribs
The night before (or at least one hour before) Add all ingredients for dry rub to a mixing bowl and stir with a whisk
Pat dry rub evenly onto both sides of each of the slabs of ribs
Place ribs on two separate pieces of aluminum foil shiny side down. You will be forming a pack around your ribs by pulling up the ends and sides of the foil to seal your ribs inside.
Refrigerate seasoned slabs overnight or at least one hour before cooking
Cooking
Preheat oven to 285°
Add all of the ingredients for your baking liquid to a sauce-pan and warm over medium heat. Cook until everything is melted together, just warming, not boiling! You may also do this in the microwave for one minute.
Place your rib racks onto a baking sheet.
Pour liquid into one side of your foil packet, close, and tilt your baking sheet to be sure the liquid is evenly disbursed.
With your ribs sealed into their packets bake for 2 ½ to 3 hours.
You will know that they are done by taking hold of one of the bones with a set of tongs and twisting gently up. If the bone starts to come out fairly easily they are ready to go to the grill.
Grilling
Place both slabs of ribs on your preheated grill.
Grill for about 15 minutes, the ribs should start to get some caramelization and brown bits. You can add paleo-approved barbecue sauce at this point.
Notes
* Wine or alcohol, in general, are discouraged on Whole30 diets.  Some Paleo followers use alcohol for cooking or drinking.  It’s all a matter of preference.

One thing that I can’t stop eating this summer is these Paleo Baby Back Ribs. They are tender, juicy, and yes completely Paleo. My husband has used the same recipe for years for his ribs. Unfortunately, they were loaded with refined sugar and other not so healthy stuff.
So this summer I set out on a mission to prove he could make delicious ribs without all of the bad ingredients. These really hit the spot! They are so good you can eat them without any barbecue sauce. Everyone who tried them loved them.

The secret involves a dry rub, a braising sauce, and a slow afternoon in the oven followed by a short stint on the grill to finish them off.
We had these with my homemade Paleo Applesauce and my kids favorite vegetable the green bean. Enjoy!

Dry Rub
8 tbsp Coconut sugar
3 tbsp Himalayan Pink Sea Salt
1 tbsp chili powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp old bay seasoning
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp dried thyme
Baking liquid
1 cup sugar-free white grape juice Or White Wine*
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp coconut aminos
1 tbsp honey
2 cloves garlic
Instructions
Season Ribs
The night before (or at least one hour before) Add all ingredients for dry rub to a mixing bowl and stir with a whisk
Pat dry rub evenly onto both sides of each of the slabs of ribs
Place ribs on two separate pieces of aluminum foil shiny side down. You will be forming a pack around your ribs by pulling up the ends and sides of the foil to seal your ribs inside.
Refrigerate seasoned slabs overnight or at least one hour before cooking
Cooking
Preheat oven to 285°
