a white woman on pinterest is trying to argue with me that Hoodoo/Vodun is jewish folk witchcraft (also trying to say that it's not a closed practice) and she just hit me with the "Nice try honey, I do my research 😘" and I was like okay fam it sounds like you really have not

#or maybe the things you've read #are also written by white people trying to make a quick buck #also not that her well-being in this situation really matters #but what spiritual ancestors is she trying to connect to?#what energy is actually being brought forth when she does that?#like even from a new age *energetic* perspective it doesn't make sense cause you have no ties to that #I've fallen for the *grocery shopping* version of spiritual research that a lot of other 3rd/4th gen white americans fall for #and it hurts us more than it will ever help us #it will continue spiritual stagnation #cause we're not actually practicing spirituality #we're practicing theft #so just like when we steal dreadlocks and braids #and call them something different and pretend it's ours #and we get mold and rot and mats in our hair because of it #we end up with mold and rot and tangled mats within our own souls
