i love carver, i honestly like him more than i do bethany for the most part, but when people act like hawke is wrong or even abusive for being angry that their little brother went and signed up for The Oppressor Job, Whos Job Specifically Includes Oppressing His Living Sibling And His Dead One, i’m like. are we good.

#nonsense.#like sure there are extenuating circumstances for why he joins them but hawke isnt Wrong 2 be hurt #especially since. lets not kid ourselves here. carver has a good heart but his politics around magic are okay at best #the same ppl who call hawke abusive for anger that he's gone and joined the Genocidal Magic Cops are always the ones who pretend carver is #some pro-mage radical who'll reform the system from the inside #hes a lot better than a lot of templars! but if meredith hadnt gone off the rails the way she did he would have been just another templar #anyway yeah carver is a deeply sympathetic cool complex character that i adore! hes also extremely flawed and #we do a disservice 2 that fact and 2 him when we strip his autonomy and pretend hes just a poor wilting child responding 2 his #big mean abusive sibling #hes a person who makes choices. sometimes shitty choices motivated by hurt and spite.
