yeess I LOVE repressed dynamics the main character I write with is heavily traumatized and repressed lemme ramble about some things
🌙 YES about the nesting !! Depending on where the repression is stemming from they may be ashamed of the habit, nesting is akin to humiliation to them. It may also be a display of weakness to them!
🌙 Imagining them picking up a single blanket not knowing what to do with it at all. They're distressed, they feel like they need to do something with this but they can't at all.
🌙 They throw it down in disgust before storming off
🌙 If nesting is a learned behavior do they even know how to? Were they neglected or orphaned and just literally don't know how? Or are they actively repressing the instinct out of fear or shame or something else?
🌙 I bet childhood abuse/neglect is a biggie for nesting issues. A lot of the times trauma literally changes brain chemistry to where people don't feel safe ever. If nesting only happens where/when we feel safe but your brain chemistry is telling you you're never safe?? Then what!
🌙 I bet these omegas are more prone to outbursts of uncontrolled emotion and panic attacks due to lack of nesting, like they don't have an outlet to sooth so what happens to those nasty feelings we all feel sometimes? Bottled up and exploded eventually
🌙 Scenting !! Is this also a learned behavior? Do they even know how?
🌙 I had a concept for my sweet boy. An orphan, he wasn't properly scented as a boy before being sent off to school and was so horribly upset and jealous at seeing all the other parents scent their babies before school. Poor bby started attempting to scent himself to sooth and into adulthood he still has these self scenting reflexes (rubbing his wrists on his neck hehe) feel free to steal this concept for ur own sad boys idc !
🌙 If they hate their scent/are dysphoric in regards to their dynamic they probably wouldn't scent anything at all. Scenting is usually depicted as a comfort, reminding the world you're, unfortunately, yourself would not feel comforting
🌙 Personally on the fence about if lack of scenting/physical contact makes the dynamics sick its really popular in writing but im not sure about it on one hand tho if you want ur character on death's doorstep for the angst its a great trope to use bc they're gonna be sick!
🌙 I bet for some being around other omegas would be distressing. Seeing people engage in/with the instincts you can't could really fuck a guy up. Like someone who can't nest, is aware that they need to for better mental health and have tried but cannot and are struggling coming into contact with someone with like pinterest level aesthetic nests? Distressing! Self hatred turned on! They're not even a proper omega so pathetic they cant nest like that
🌙 or on the flip side if they've been indoctrinated to hate omegas or view them as weak they would be embarrassed by other omegas. Look at that nest, how pathetic of them displaying their weakness to everyone like a little kid who needs a blankie smh
🌙 However I can also see repressed omegas uncomfortable around alphas too.
🌙 Repressed omegas might hate the concept of instinctual submission (this can be juicier the more oppressive your worldbuilding is towards omegas) and probably go to great lengths not to be seen as submissive. Maybe they avoid everyone outright in fear they might back down from an alpha one day and submit even subtly, or maybe they go out of their way to be aggressive. Baring teeth, growling, anything to signal their dominance first

🌙 In my verse purring is a learned trait. If your parents never purred around you neither can you. You technically have the muscles to but you have no idea how to vibrate them!
🌙 So going back to my boy he can't purr at all! Not that he would anyway thats embarrassing and so are all other omega noises. Imagine ur omega swallowing and fighting back whines and keens bc that's simply not them.
🌙 I think bonding would be an issue with these omegas too. I can't see this type of personality has having many bonds due to deep trauma they haven't worked through (probably wouldn't be repressed if it was worked on)
🌙 Maybe they're a loner without a pack or a loner within their pack but creating a new bond with one, especially a mating bond... might be out of question. They couldn't scent, they often won't verbally indicate, how do other people communicate with and perceive them?
🌙 Their pack bonds might be on the verge of crumbling if they don't have understanding pack members around
🌙 I bet heats are HELL
🌙 If lack of scenting/bonding makes your omegas sick they're gonna be sick and in heat at once if that's possible in your verse ik in some verses heat only happens when healthy
🌙 these omegas aren't touchy or social and are desperately trying to hide their natures, heat brings all of that to the surface. Craving another person, needing scent, literally feeling like you're about to boil from the inside out from the actual heat and the need of it all, rolling around on your own without a nest like oof
🌙 If your verse has suppressants maybe this omega is on them to the point it's unhealthy to avoid this
🌙 Where does sex inside or outside of heat fall? I imagine these kinds of omegas as socially distant and hating touch so I can't imagine sex is even a consensual option for them the same way I can't see mating bonds working out
🌙 Sex is also full full full of smell like scenting as affection, scenting as foreplay or during play, just the natural smells that come from sex probably overwhelm and repulse them
🌙 Consider oversensitivity ! Repressed dynamics that spend so much time trying to be as scentless as possible that they get overstimulated and sneeze and drool around strong smells
🌙 If your verse has drops (mine def does not i dont like this trope personally) maybe an repressed omega experiences these alarmingly often. Even once is too many times, but what happens to them if it's more than once? Do they start experiencing terrible health issues? Do they lose cognitive abilities?
🌙 Ultimately i think this concept depends a lot on your character, their personality, and why they're repressing themselves in the first place. Maybe they don't hate their dynamic it's just like a toxic habit they developed for some reason or maybe its 100% pure self hatred. What did they go through?? Play with it!

I have no clue if someone has ever asked this before, but do you have any headcannons for repressed Omegas? Like, literally anything on how they would react, because that trope is just *chefs kiss* to me. It can stand for some many things and I am absolutley feral about this :)
Honestly, I don't know where to even start. I'll just give you some random headcanons. I ain't gonna lie, I'm not really fond of this headcanon. Not because it's not interesting, it's just cause it usually stems from the fact that the Omega has been traumatized.
Nesting isn't natural to them. When they go into heat or are pregnant, they are mostly in bed or on the couch. They are anxious though, mostly because they need to nest but don't know how.
They don't scent. This also causes them to have a fever. If they can't release certain phermones, they'll get sick for bottling it up.
They probably avoid other Omegas. It's not they hate them or don't want to be around them, they just feel lost around them.
I can see them going mute if they struggle with making their regular crooning or purring noises.
They are actually almost about to go feral.
So, I don't know what else to add. Lol. If anyone with a bigger brian than I, please feel free to share!

🔥 Ty you’re the perfect person for me to go off about this first one with- lets talk about ocs.
OCs are often treated badly in this RPC.
As ya’ll know, I write ocs.  I write a lot of them, I write a grand total of.... Eleven, with varying degrees of activity.  So obviously, this is an issue that I not only care about, but it effects me GREATLY.  I don’t write any canon characters (anymore) bc I can’t take the pressure of being ic and true to canon bc I’m a stickler for canon.  Anyway.
OCs.  We’ve all probably had them at some point.  IF you’ve been around long enough there was even a server dedicated to them that I was a part of.  And in being in that server and writing ocs, I have made some observations.
-OC Popularity is often directly linked to either the popularity of the writer.  Chances are, if you’re a popular blog that writes canons.... If you offer an OC, people will like them.  Blogs are popular because the writing is good and the writer is friendly, so obviously, your OC will be appealing.  This??  Isn’t a bad thing.  It’s just something that I have noticed.  I’ll never really get all that mad at an oc for being popular lol.  I might get jealous but like.  I won’t do jack about it.
-OCs are often better than canon characters.  I said it.  Lets face it, Horikoshi has so many characters that he can’t make all of them as fleshed out and well cooked like the protagonists and the main antagonists. OCs offer fresh new blood to the story we all know and love, and they might just end up spicing up what your blog canon is.  Seriously, I’d fuckin kill to see some of the OC’s ive met in the actual publicization.  And we can all agree, any OC is better than Mineta. /lh Anyway, holding canon characters i nthe highest regard of who’s worth writing and who’s worth writing with, you’re only holding yourself back,
-People are often stinky about family of canon character OCs and I think people shouldn’t brush them off so readily.  Like.  Bro, *holds up Hideki Kirishima* this boy is canon idc what you say.  IT’s fun to make the world a little bigger.  Indulge a bit, see how it feels to give your canon muse a sibling.  Just.  JUST DO IT.
-People avoid oc muses with bitchin powers As if our main characters aren’t OP as hell.  Like.  Come one.  We’re having fun don;t make us feel bad.  Communicate and talk about things.  Just bc my OC has a quirk that COULD kill yours immediately, doesn’t mean I’m gonna make it happen without your permission.  People are quick to assume that OCs godmod.  Stop that.
-SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE OCS BUT ARE SCARED TO WRITE THEM.  Y’all.  It’s okay.  Please, write your ocs.  People will come to them, I swear.  Some of my favorite ocs pretty much had to be coaxed out of people, and now i can’t imagine these ocs not running around.  We should be confident in our creations.  It takes a huge amount of skill to create a new character from scratch.
🔥 That actually kinda brings me into my next thing, which is what I like to call the Just Make And OC moment.  I’ve seen this in a lot of fandoms, and I’ve started to see it more and more in this community.  What is this moment?
Say you’re writing a canon character.  You think, hey, I like this character, but what if.... X.  So, you roll with it, you do X.  You like it, you keep it.  And then, you’re like... What if.... Y.  And you do that too.  Great, you’re having fun.  But then, you’re like... Z... I REALLY want Z.  And these can be small things, but more often than not, they’re BIG things.  Big, CHARACTER CHANGING things.  
We all have the freedom to interpret canon how we want, and write our muses how we want.... But... What if you just... Took everything you just did.... And just... Made an OC.  Like, you’ve changed core elements of the character so much that they’re barely recognizable.  just give them a new name, maybe change the hair color and BOOM.  You have a GREAT OC to start with.  I used to be in the Undertale RPC and Fandom and if you’re familiar you know that Undertale is just... AU City.  And it’s fun, I’m glad people have fun- but if you’re changing literally everything about a character, even their NAME... It’s just??  Why bother, just make an OC.  It’s fine.  BC if you think about it, you’re not really an alternate universe, it’s the MHA universe and its character that you’re altering.  And there’s a point where... You’ve just made your own character, and that’s sick as hell.
I’m not talking like... Those things where “Oh yeah it’s all the same except instead of dying, Magne lives and has a beautiful husband and lives to be one hundred” or “This is a verse where a villain character gets rehabbed into heroic society” because those are things that wont take away or add too much to the character.  It’s more like you’re opening a door for new things without adding or taking away too much.  It’s when you diverge so far from the character... THAT’S when the Just Make An OC Moment kicks in.
PART of the reason I think people don’t just do this is they like being connected to the canon character, bc it means that they can still garner interest but chances are, if you already have people interested in writing with you, they will happily take your oc. 
All that to say, if you write a canon divergent canon character, don’t stop, if it makes you happy.  Like, seriously this is just something I see and feel.  But also dont?  Be surprised?  If people aren’t super on board?  I don’t really like to write with straight up moral flipped characters bc i feel like... If Deku was a sadistic villain brought up by AFO instead of his mom, he ain’t Deku anymore.  THATS JUST ME, but I’m not the only person who feels that way.  People might just want that classic vanilla canon, and you shouldn’t make people feel guilty for it, in my opinion.  Keep doing what makes you happy, and let other folks to the same.  
Also, it’s not your place to tell someone what they should or shouldn’t do.  If someone writes a canon divergent and you don’t like the divergences, move on.  It’s not your business.  That’s not what I’m doing, I’m just saying that sometimes I am bothered by this, because to me it seems like a lot of these canon divergent canons are in essence, OCs, but since they still have the canon’s name and face strapped to it, it gets more love and attention.  And that bugs me, and I will point it out!  I’m not sorry for it.
I know this one will make me lose some of you so I’m sorry.
🔥 I’m running out of juice but uh can we talk about how blogs about minor characters are the fucking tits bc like i said earlier Horikoshi has so many characters he left a lot of side characters with next to no bones and the people who take those bones and stuff them full of flesh???  Chefs kiss.  That’s kind of my exception to the Just Make An OC Moment.  At some point, that character just BELONGS to that person, like Spinner belongs to Eros, or how Meow created a Hawks’ dad that is so much better than what we got, and Flowers literally created Wash.

Sweetener: In Review
           Sweetener (Album):             8/10
I like it a lot. I have a lot of reasons why I like most of the songs. You’re never gonna like them all, and that’s okay too. But I like so many of them and I’m really relieved. It doesn’t change whether Ariana’s personality is any better but it matters that I actually like her music. It’s so funny to me that some people like DW better because for me, this album is far more up my street. I wish a lot of the songs had their beats like 20% more subtle as a review of the songs as a whole, and some of the more pharrell-y tracks are worse. But overall this isn’t a bad album attempt. I can see myself stanning this album and still listening to it in the future. And I’ve had several songs stuck in my head or on repeat, and that’s nice because I’ve actually wanted to listen to the album more and more the longer it;s been out. It may be as much of a grower as the singles but I do think it’s a good album and I’m proud of it.

The track by track listing is below, the opinions inside are all my own, just a personal opinion. You are entitled to your own opinion whether you agree with me or not. 
1. Raindrops (An Angel Cried)           8/10
A gorgeous way to start the album, I really enjoy hearing just a pure acapella representation of Ariana’s voice to kick off the album. It’s clean and gorgeous, and it really gives you everything you need to know about Ariana’s talent - look no further than track. 1. However, this is Ariana’s 4th album and there are two covers on it which I think is a little stretched; at this point in her career Ariana should be defining sounds, not recycling them. I think that this acapella genius could have been better if it was an original. The cover is beautiful but, as with most of her career so far, Ariana is still relying on others to provide her with material to sing to, it’s time she stepped up artistically. 
2. Blazed            5/10
I don’t hate it, I know a lot of people hate Pharrell’s production and his parts of this song, but personally I don’t hate it at all. I think it’s a far more relaxed sound than a lot of this album’s other disasters like the sampling in TLIC or the yuh’s/sheeh’s in Sweetener etc. Blazed has a basic backing track which isn’t anything special but the melody of the singing is one of the most upbeat on the album and makes it special and stand out a bit from the overall ambiance of the rest of the album. The lyrics are a bit confused but it attempts to create an image of a new relationship, it also has some of the most underrated lyrics on the album with Pharrell’s line “your magnetic demeanor”. If this song was on a different album it could have been more of a filler track but it’s one of few tracks you could potentially dance to. However It is a wasted feature, the song isn’t so good as to forgive it for it’s basic sounds and taking up a slot on the album when this song could have happily been a soundtrack song for tv/film instead. 
3. The Light Is Coming           0/10
Trash. There is too much going on, the lyrics are a mess which should never have been aloud to make it to the studio floor. Nicki isn’t bad but it’s another of many wasted features: Ariana and Nicki have done better things together and this ain’t it. It was supposed to be some commentary on people with loud opinions and simultaneously about finding the light.... when in reality neither of these concepts came across and it was just a big messy trash pile of hot garbage. The beat is too heavy, nicki doesn’t say anything about the light, ariana isn’t giving any vocals, the lyrics are all over the place, and the sample in the background is distracting and ugly. 
4. R.E.M Wake Up            7/10
The first song we come to which is actually representative of the album vibe. It’s the definition of a slow jam and I fuck with it heavy. It really only has one soul concept ‘’you’re such a dream to me’’ and everything else is frills around it but it is really pretty. We get some harmonies and some cute verses courtesy of Beyonce of all people. It’s very inoffensive and cute, if I were to critique I would say, as usual for Pharrell’s whole vibe, the beat is a bit too heavy for the sweet, light, dreamy song. It’s worth noting that people find this song a bit boring, too. And it’s hard to completely forgive it for ‘’when I was sleep’’. But Ariana’s vocals and the overall almost r&b cloudlike vibe work well for Ariana. I can see why this one is her fave right now, and why she feels it sounds the most like her. 
5. God Is A Woman            9/10
This song could have it’s own review just by itself, so I’ll only focus on it as far of the album. This song is a bop, it’s controversial and it’s just about sex, but the sound is iconic. It has big sounds and big notes and big ideas. It fits well within the album and it is a very good single choice. it could do with less ‘yuh’s and better lyrical concepts - because for all the will in the world this song is not what empowerment is, no matter how much she wants it to be. However, with that known, as a sex song with an eye catching concept, it nails it and gives us some much needed vocals. 
6. Sweetener  Bop It             2/10
The biggest disappointment on the album. As the title song, it was always going to be much anticipated and have a lot of it’s shoulders. And when the first verse hits, I almost cried because it’s so good, beautiful, with such an amazing first verse lyrically and it was exactly what she said it was about - sweetening the situation. That verse is some of my favourite lyrics on the album. And then the chorus hits. And it’s trash from there. The bop it aesthetic is ugly to me and although you can warm to it and tolerate it, it could always have been so much better. It has all the ugly Pharrell ‘sheesh’ parts in the back which we could have done without, and I don’t think I need to talk more about the lyrics in the chorus. To me, this song is like trailmix: it has lovely, amazing parts but overall its ruined by the abundance of nasty other shit mixed in. 
7. Successful            6/10
I can both take this one and leave it. This song was part of the reason I took so long to review because I couldn’t decide if I liked it or not. I quite like the melody/sound, but the lyrics are a ruiner. For others, they’re put off by the basic wii music beat in the back of it, and I don’t mind that so much, personally. However, the lyrics make me cringe a bit- I think the song was supposed to be an attempt at celebrating her journey and how far she’s come, and be an empowering song for herself and other women. However, it missed the mark just slightly and ends up sounding like she’s bragging about how successful she is, which is a shame because I like the concept a lot she just needed a better lyricist to smooth it. When I listen close enough to hear her pat herself on the back I can’t help but enjoy the song less, I don’t find a millionaire born into money and opportunity celebrating her fun cute life, relatable. I can’t ignore the existence of songs like IDC/YDKM and then Successful, but the lack of songs celebrating friends/family/fans or any type of humble thank you? This song, to me, feels like another addition in the line of songs which make her sound like a dick. And then there’s the sex aspect which is as unnecessary as me mentioning it in this review. But the beat is poppin and I can’t fault the vocals or choices made on the sound front. 
8. Everytime  Back To You            10/10
Amazing, stunning, phenomenal, genuis, iconic. I can’t get enough of this song I love it so much. It’s my favourite on the album and I ADORE the story it tells. The lyrics sing to me, the vocals and the pop feel of the whole song just really vibes with me. This pop-y slow jam reminds me of space and lavender, and a sincere pop song for Ariana. This song is everything that I enjoy in her music and I am so happy she put this on the album and let us hear it. I can’t even describe how much I like it honestly it’s just something that I need to listen to repeatedly for the rest of my life. 
9. Breathin’            10/10
My baby. This is a powerful song and I appreciate everything about it, I think the lyrics are necessary and the way the song is formulated with the long pauses and beat drops are genuis for the subject matter. It’s truly one of her better songs on her discography, one without the mention of sex and on a subject which can be so personal yet so easily relatable to so many people. This song deserves to be a single, it’s fan favourite and if Ariana and everyone on her team had any sense they would see the success of this song already and run with it, give it the day in the sun it deserves. It’s the pop equivalent of Get Well Soon, better articulated and with such clarity it just blows me away. 
10. No Tears Left To Cry            9/10
I still like it. When this one dropped I was nervous that I only liked it because it was new, but here we are with the whole album and I still think it’s one of the better songs on it. It bridges the gap well, between albums. It’s just an all-round good song. My least favourite parts are the ‘pickin it up’ parts but at this point it’s normal for me to hear that in the song. I also wish it hadn’t mentioned a boy at all, and I wish she hadn’t tried to say that the ‘boy’ was her gays at her shows because it reminds me of how lesbian-exclusionary she is with her lgbt advocacy. However, I do think it’s the perfect nod to Manchester. I would have hated a song dedicated to it, and the subtle hints about moving on are very classy. It’s a good, strong song, and it has longevity. 
11. Borderline            1/10
Nahhhhhh. I can barely pay attention during this song. It’s the last of the wasted features, and it is the most forgettable song on the album. I’m not even gonna spend a lot of time thinking about it. It’s very one dimensional sounding. The wifey type and ice cream parts are an odd mix and a lot of people find them cringy. Missy’s part is forgettable. Ariana will forget about it just as quickly as we will.  It just doesn’t do it for me at all. 
12. Better Off            9/10
Sweet. I have no problems with this song at all, it doesn’t call to me like some of the other songs but I like it a lot when it’s on. It’s very ethereal and very deep. it feels personal and the lyrics tell a story very well. It sounds like the rundown of a real relationship. My favourite line is ‘’i’d rather have your body than half of your heart’’ which sticks out to me in such a plesant way. The whole song is pleasant to listen to, which is a clever contrast to the painful subject matter: it’s like you’re being sung to sleep with a lullaby by a widow. And those surprise strings at the end are everything, they’re a huge throwback to her earlier music and sound gorgeous in this song. Just overall a lovely listen. 
13. Goodnight N’ Go            9/10
A cover, but I would never want this song not to exist. It’s an amazing take on the original and I like the twist of the beats in the first verse then diving into the well known chorus which sounds just so goddamn pretty. The song sounds like a beautiful swirl of classical vs modern versions of the song and Ariana does it so much justice. It’s stunning, I can’t really comment too much further on it because it’s not actually her song lol. I wish she had an original as gorgeous as this. 
14. Pete Davidson  Happy            7.5/10
I gotta say that I like it. I’m not keen on the ‘look at my mind’ section. But when the song gets good, it gets so good. It’s so cute and I’m so happy that she’s this happy. I wish the song was longer instead of an odd interlude near the end of the album. It would have been better as a full song, and it would have been better focusing on happiness. But it’s cute as hell, and I’m not objecting to it being on the album at all, it’s a nice little song. 
15. Get Well Soon            6/10
Powerful. This song might be the most important song she’s ever made, it’s definitely the most personal and I love it for that. Personally, I don’t have anxiety so I find it quite loud and confusing- which I know is the point of it and that’s amazing and clever and artistic which I’ve been waiting to see from her for such a long time. However, that doesn’t make it an easy listen for me, and it’s important but not one of my favourites. I appreciate everything that it is, but I don’t like all the song rapping, and I don’t like the different clashing styles. I like about half of it a lot and the other half just doesn’t appeal to me much. I like it more because I know how much it means to other people, and how accurate it is in describing what anxiety is for them - it’s a healing thing for them. And it has the extra silence in remembrance at the end which is also a powerful and important move to end the album with. Basically, I respect this song a lot. But I don’t put it on for nice listening. I love it for everything it stands for.

candleverse chronicles | pt 0
so. astral projection. we all do it. 
okay, not all of us, but some of us do. and ya girl is no stranger to it. 
if you know of the slenderverse, specifically the everymanhybrid verse, you know of the candleverse. habit’s playground, the pocket between timelines and dimensions. 
i’m gonna astral project there. and im gonna keep all my notes here. in case anyone is stupid enough to follow my footsteps.
so, for anyone into emh but not witchcraft/astral work... here are some sources. (x), (x), (x) < that last one is a masterpost of resources for research purposes and those looking to astral travel.
a warning: if you want to astral travel, do NOT do what i’m doing. i’m not smart. this isn’t kosher. this isn’t a good idea. even with all of my precautionary measures im still putting my astral body at risk. if you really truly want to, you can PM me about it, and ill share my personal notes but i am NOT a professional. go forward at your own damn risk.
alright, so warnings aside, let’s get into the prologue.
i am lucky enough to have contact with an evan, a habit, and a noah/firebrand. if you believe in kin shit, call it that. if you believe in past lives, call it that. i personally call it a mix of past lives and a system. i am a spiritual person. don’t pm me, send an ask, or @. me about it because i’m not gonna respond.
i asked firebrand and evan about the candleverse and got their specific general advice for what it’s like, precautionary measures, and an escape plan. here’s what i was told, in transcript form:
firebrand || candleverse notes
general
- Mind tricks. Constantly changing. Do not trust your senses, rely only on your intuition, it’ll guide you.
- It looks like Princeton, New Jersey. Evan’s house is the exact centre, and the clearest part. Everything beyond it gets darker and harder to traverse through due to illusions and mindfuckery.
- There is a purple haze that surrounds the Candleverse. It’s safer, but harder to work out. Hide here, but don’t stay in one place for too long.
- The bridge is an OK spot. But don’t fall in the river. You’ll die in the astral.
protective measures
- Do NOT try to play offensively. It won’t work. You’re in Habit’s house.
- Use wards for hiding, and confusing anything that enters the vicinity.
- Use glamours to alter your astral body and make you into a spirit as unassuming as possible. Humans are what he wants.
- Keep your vibrations basic. Too low means you’ll be drained. Too high means you stick out.
- Get a glamour for any guides or thoughtforms you bring. (In my case, Figaro the thoughtform).
escape plan
- bring a power bank or totem that will give you just enough energy to make a door and leave if you need to in a moment’s notice.
evan || candleverse notes
general
- Do NOT interact with the Candle versions of Evan, Vinnie, and ESPECIALLY Jeff/Steph. Just don’t do it. They’re like big fucking beacons.
- Any kind of foliage is good. Trees, bushes. If a rabbit can hide in it, you’re good. A good rule of thumb is “Think like a rabbit.” So, the town is a good place to hide, but it’s also gonna be real confusing. Anywhere out in the open, you’re fucked.
- If your vibrations are high so you can keep up magic, places with moderate lighting are gonna be your best bet, so you’ll blend in. If you’re keeping your vibrations low to hide, keep to the edges and forest-y areas. Whatever makes you feel safest. Either way, you’re playing on the losing side in a game rigged in Habit’s favor.
- If you aren’t panicking, you’re giving off less energy, so you’re safer. Fear will stink you up, and it’ll catch Habit’s attention. Keep calm, you’ll stay safe.
- Cover the tracks of your spirit/thoughtform if they can’t do it themselves, or if they naturally produce magic. For example, my thoughtform Figaro is built to feed off of naturally occuring excess negative energy and build harm-shielding wards for himself and I from it. In the Candleverse, this process needs to be hidden.
- Piggybacking off of that point, a mosquito could fart and Habit would know. Any tiny move you make, any change to the verse, Habit will pick up on it. He might ignore it if it’s insignificant, but he might not. If you do something risky, your best bet is to get away from the mess, hide, and try not to leave a trail.
protective measures
- Only stay in for 15 minutes at first, up to 30 minutes. No longer than an hour. Time is slower in the Candleverse, but you’re gonna get exhausted, and it’s gonna get easier to find you. 
- Do not let Habit know you’re a human. You’re toast.
- Get better at improv. Learn how to play your part. If Habit approaches you, do NOT panic. Know what you’re supposed to be and act like it.
- Use DEFENSIVE wards and magic, not OFFENSIVE. Wards that protect you from harm make it seem like you’re EXPECTING Habit to attack you, and he might just. He’d definitely seek you out for it. Don’t make it seem like you’re ready for a fight.
escape plan
 - Make that power bank as inconspicuous as possible. Remember-- play the part.
- If you’re in a bind, or about to be caught, just make a break for the edge, find a place to hide, and calm down before leaving.
other
if you’re like me, and tend to crack under pressure or panic in the face of danger and make the wrong decision, then you’re gonna wanna practice beforehand.
there are all kinds of candleverses that take place in different areas of the timeline of EMH. start with a dead candleverse, in which there are no more traces of habit. you will know the difference because the energy they give off is pure white rather than dark purple.

pale purple verse - a little of habit, a moderate amount of traps and illusions, afternoon

true purple verse - mostly habit, many traps and illusions, dusk
dark purple verse - habit is live and present and on the prowl, a fuckton of traps and illusions, dead of night
i was also lucky enough for firebrand to be willing to get in contact with other firebrands, as all noah’s stick together, and they might be able to give me a little extra help. pending.

Town - Just as the name implies. Good for hiding but, very dark and confusing. Take it slow.
B - Buildings. Decrepit, good for hiding.
N.E.H. - Never ending house. If you recall, in Bridge to Nowhere, Noah went up and down this stairwell repeatedly. Unsafe.
Bridge - Bridge to Nowhere. Moderately safe. Don’t stay on for too long.
P.G. - Playground. Moderately unsafe.
Open Space - Not good. No hiding spots.
Forest - Very dark, but good for hiding. Lots of foliage.
River - Runs through the forest and under bridge. Instant death upon touching.
Habit tends to stay around the more lighted areas. Do not by any means go near or enter Evan’s house. Just don’t do it.
protective measures
so, we all decided that lots and lots of defensive magic is your best bet. cover up the fact that you’re human first and foremost. if, like me, your energy is bright and beaming, make an energy mask to cover that. put up wards with multiple layers. put up illusion glamours with multiple layers. run, hide, camouflage. you’re a rabbit here.

here’s what im doing specifically. lemme go over it.
defensive-offensive ward - protects from anything you deem to be harm. it won’t do much for you at that point. if all of your other wards/glamours have failed at this point, you’re fucked anyway. its basically one last line of defense if all else fails.
illusion/energy mask - this is to change your energy. its to cover up your human parts. make it strong. make it powerful. make it work. if habit gets a single SNIFF of your human pussy, your ass if grass and he’s gonna mow it.
appearance glamour - this is to change your appearance and all. make you look not human. idc what you look like, im choosing a hazy kinda shadowy unassuming spirit type thing. look lost, not like a tourist.
camouflage ward -  this is gonna make you blend in to the foliage and shit much better. keep you under the radar. you are a cat in the night. a simple breath in the breeze, you feel. you ARE the dancing queen. 
hidden/hiding illusion - same deal, but this makes it harder to track you if you hide. hide well, don’t fuck this up. its literally your astral body on the line, maybe even your astral life. but don’t worry, as long as you hide your cord and keep it in tact, you can come back. just give it a few moon cycles.
and thats basically all ive got in preperation for this trip. ill keep cc updates coming as they happen. my first trip is tomorrow (Tuesday, March 19, 2019), around 5:00 PM CT.

GIDEON  GOLD. 
gideon  is  probably  the  most  canon  divergent  muse  i  have  played  to  date  tbh.  cos  i  pretty  much  throw  out  all  his  canon  into  the  garbage  lmao.   i  started  writing  gideon  right  after  the  6a  finale.  so  not  much  was  known  about  him.  &  so  i  formed  my  own  story  about  it  which  heavily  implied  on  evil!gideon.  a  concept  i  have  enjoyed  to  date.  ofc  when  the  show  came  back,  it  went  the  opposite  from  what  i  thought  &  personally  i  found  that  kind  of  disappointing.  well  i  do  write  canon,  with  good!gideon  as  he  appears  on  the  show  i  much  prefer  my  own  crafted  tale.   so  short  version,  i  like  evil  morally  grey  gideon.  well  fandom  prefers  the  good boy.    —-  i  also  write  gideon  as a  homosexual  which  is  def  not  canon  but  idc. 
BELLE  FRENCH.
this  isn’t  really a  headcanon…  but  its  more  of a  preference.  i  don’t  by  default  assume  rum.belle  when  writing  with  belle,  partly  cos  the  pairing  left  an  awful  taste  in  my  mouth,  thanks  writers. ( &  i  certainly  don’t  hide  my  distaste  for  it  either  )     its  definitely  a  bit  controversial  cos  fandom  says  otherwise.  but  i  am  not  about  emotional  abuse,  i  will  write  it  but  i’d  rather  plot  it  out.   
NEAL  CASSIDY.
that  whole,  neal  tried  to  destroy  magic  plot  ???  never  happened.  i  also  refuse  to  acknowledge  the  whole  beowulf  backstory…  it  was  bullshit.  the  war  happened,  but  a  young  bae  didn’t  try  to  manipulate  his  father.  it  goes  against  everything  neal  cassidy  preached  ever….  there  was  a season  one  reference  who  rumple  knew  august  wasn’t  his  kid  cos  he  tried  to  control  him.   so  fuck  you  abc  you  can’t  make  it  happen  then  mind  wipe  him.  cos  you  fed  all  the  damn  neal  antis  some  wood  to  add  to their  petty  hate fire.    we  stan  neal  cassidy  on  this  blog.  
AURORA.
my  main  verse  for  this  beauty  is  a bit  darker.  it  explores  her  life  with  philip  gone,  i  thought  it  would  be  an  interesting  angle  to  explore.  it  also  gives  me  the  opportunity  to  try  other  ships,  as  in  any  verse  philip  is  alive  aurora  is  with  him.   —-  i  will  ofc  play  canon  as  i  love  me  some  philirora,  however  i  default  to  a  dead  philip  storyline. 
HADES.
my  hades  was  never  intending  to  manipulate  emma  &  killian.  he  only  started  that  way  when  he  felt  he  was  threatened  &  it  was  him  or  zeleans  family.  i  also  play  him  post  5b  living  happy  with  zelena  &  her  daughter.    —–  i  fully  believe  hades  was  changing  already  when  he  got  zelenas  love.  
ARTHUR  PENDRAGON. 
i  write  arthur  as  gay,  his  affections  for  guinevere  purely  platonic,  he  married  his  friend  nothing  more. 
as  for  cindy,  dorothy  &  hyde  i  have  nothing  really  to  say  as  they  are  mostly  canon  for  now,  ofc  hyde  has  verses  where  he  didn’t  die  but  yeah  lol.

In regards to the sensory alteration, I mean things like seeing/hearing/etc things that aren’t there, mis-remembering or outright tampering with memory, etc. It’s kind of situation to situation on what gets me, but when it does it tends to hit me pretty hard. On unreality, this somewhat relates to the above, I use this as a catch all phrase for images, vivid descriptions, and most especially videos/gifs of things that basically don’t behave or seem to behave as they should. Sometimes, I’ve seen these things tagged as “trippy” and the like, but they those posts tend to be too…idk how to put it. Extra? What tends to get me is when things are going fairly linear and then suddenly go for a loop. That’s not the greatest description, but here’s a few posts that have triggered me the worst that I’ve slowly gotten used to.  There are also things which should seem fine or normal but aren’t. If anyone has a better description for this, by all means let me know! example posts [ one ] / [ two ] /  [ three ] + a weird image that also gets me for some reason. hmvent is actually a blog I use to store things that trigger me so I can slowly get used to them or try and figure out what it is / why these things get to me.
META 
Hayner is a young lad who resides in the sleepy Twilight Town. He is described as “impulsive and determined, and is always looking for a new adventure. He is bold to the point of recklessness…He gets bored easily during uneventful times… also easily angered/irked…thirsts for some kind of recognition…” During the events of KHII, he is 15, the same as Roxas/Sora. He has deep brown eyes, dirty blond hair and is a bit tall and, while still skinny, muscular for his age. He is the leader of his quartet trio including Pence, Olette and Roxas himself.
While he does have parents, he’s rather distant from them. While he does receive support from his folks, they were just never really there. Because of this, his loyalties lie greatly with his chosen family, his friends. He considers it his duty to help, lead and, if needed, protect them, even if he’d never admit as much even to himself. If any of his actions or ideas end up hurting someone he cares about, he takes it very much to heart, often beating himself up about it for weeks and weeks after.
Hayner, despite his hotheadedness and brashness, is a very observant leader. His tough guy act, while not entirely based on this, is partially to build himself up, make other less inclined to pick fights with him and his friends. Whether or not this works out, however, is certainly debatable. He also does his best to incorporate his friends’ wants and needs– or at least what he perceives these as– into his plans.
As oblivious as he may seem, he is quite mindful of the people around him. Whether it’s picking out the shady figure on that street corner or this one, or noticing some random kid’s not having a good day - he sees a lot of it, but often it doesn’t strike as a huge priority. He thinks things through a lot more than he’s credited for, but unfortunately, he doesn’t go through the whole process before starting his plan of action.
Hayner also isn’t exactly the most social person. He is outgoing and nice to people out of politeness and giving people the benefit of the doubt, but as a whole he’d much rather just stick with his friends. The only exception to this has been Sora, as he feels a “familiar vibe” about him, and therefore is also open to his circle of friends.
A couple more misc hcs below:
Is a very exceptional swordsman (at least with the training swords). However, his skills do not seem as outstanding compared to that of Roxas and other more major characters.
As much as he hates school, his best subject science. And although one would think he’d be a good athlete because he is competitive, he actually doesn’t have good PE grades because he doesn’t try if he doesn’t have to. The only way to get him to really participate is to make it a competition.

Okay first of I am so sorry for such a delayed response, school is kicking my butt! It’s totally cool to post stuff, idc. I guess my first big thing is like, what’s the social hierarchy in Ishval? Like, religion is a big part so I’m guessing priests are on top, but what abt the rest? Also, myths. Gimme all the myths u can think of. (Aka my fav part of any and all cultures-myth and religions!)
*lays on the floor* This was sent like a month and a half ago?? I’m sorry???? Literally all I can say to that is: depressive episodes suck, kids, don’t do it.
Anyway, Ishval social hierarchy. This is going to get kind of rambly, but bear with me:
Religion seems to be the only part of Ishval really fleshed out in canon, so at least these are two things we know: the political leader of Ishval is also the religious leader, and the priests in Ishval are also its best warriors. Historically, the people with power are a) religious people, b) political people, and c) fighting people, so Ishval went ahead and combined them all into the same area, I guess. Also in canon, I look at Scar, the younger brother becoming a priest. Now, that was common in historical Europe—eldest was the heir to a kingdom, second eldest went into religion for that kind of power—but that reasoning doesn’t stand up to and Ishval where religious figures are the power of the country, in just about every sense of the world.
Ishval is a theocracy, is what I’m saying. Technically at the top: Ishvalla. But no other country is going to accept Ishvalla as their genuine ruler, so as far as mortal matters go, the current head priest and/or prophet of Ishvalla (which can get complicated since there can be more than one prophet at a time) is the leader of Ishval.
Besides the religious people, you’ve got: merchants (with which I’m including shopkeepers and skilled workers), farmers, and herders. Farming is possible in desert regions, since it doesn’t all look like sand dunes and pictures of the Sahara. You just can’t grow water-intensive crops. Herders and farmers aren’t a mixed bunch like in classic farms you hear about, because in a place like Ishval, you can’t just fence in your animals, you have to herd them from place to place or there’s just not enough for them to eat. And if you have animals that can eat desert plants that humans can’t, you might as well keep the human food for yourself. Anyway, herders and farmers are a step below the merchants who are a step below the scholars (who are often religious) who are a step below the organized religious… clergy, I guess.
And below all of these guys are the… gutter life, I guess? Homeless people, unemployed people, and then criminals, because there are always criminals. Of course, you can’t be rude to the people who are just down on their luck, like the homeless and unemployed, you still offer them hospitality, because they’re still Ishvalla’s children—and they might actually be a priest returning from a pilgrimage, or even Elozhih the Trickster, shapeshifting to search for kindness in Ishvalla’s people. (Criminals, though. Criminals you can be rude to. If you’re brave enough to risk getting knifed, I guess.)
Aaaaand I’m gonna go ahead and include gender politics in here: a lot of it is typical of the time period, with the glaring exception that there are plenty of female priestesses running around and Avayut’ishval wouldn’t even blink if a female prophet showed up. Other countries would probably side-eye a female leader a lot, but in Ishval, Iesha, one of the first generation of humans, is regarded as the first prophet and generally very important, so having female priests and prophets is kind of “go figure” for most of them.
I have not actually decided whether Ishvalan priests and priestesses are gender-separated or not. Kind of leaning towards not, because I actually like the idea of Scar meeting back up with a priestess he grew up with who could kick his ass and immediately becomes Al’s new hero because cats, but that’s another story. At the very least, the teacher-student relationships are always gender-separated, so Scar’s teacher is male and this hypothetical priestess OC who may or may not actually exist has/had a female teacher.
(As for priest and priestess celibacy, I haven’t decided about that either, mostly because my Scar is very asexual and would not give a shit either way.)
As for Ishvalan myths, the ones I’ve got now are mostly based around Elozhih the Trickster, and the first myth I came up with for him, “How Elozhih Stole Fire From the Sun,” can be found here, which is a scene that is going to show up in the fourth part of the series, and is actually the first thing for this ‘verse that I wrote. Other myths involving Elozhih are: “How Elozhih Learned to Change His Shape,” “How Elozhih Stole Seeds From the Wind,” and “Elozhih and the Kahiribla,” the last of which translates to “Elozhih and the Priest.” I don’t have any of these written yet, but they’re going to show up in the series too! As for myths that aren’t about Elozhih… Besides the creation myth in the second installment of the series, there is one about a prophet and a burning ashtal, which is the Ishvalan name for a plant called tamarisk or salt cedar, but we’ll actually be hitting that story in the next installment, which is coincidentally called Ashtal.

Isabelle and Raphael from Shadowhunters, hands down. (Beware: this turned into a long post that talks at once about all my current -and some not-so-current- otps).
-LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT. “Why are you helping me?” “I don’t know.” – Shadowhunters
Half my dash must be tiring of hearing this, but I adore this trope. I love how it moves things along: the character is already in love -automatically, the relationship goes into Intense™ territory, you get swept into its groove, whether you like it or not (another reason why these ships, when they raise hate, the RAISE hate xD). Emori and John in The 100, Matt ~sensing Elektra across the room in Daredevil, Wes seeing Rebecca for the first time in HTGAWM, Derek and Jesse in TSCC (I want to start re-watching that show soon so I have that ship very present *sniffs*), Bruce and Selina in Gotham (and IIRC, every BatCat adaptation worth something has this in some form -it is a MUST).
With Rizzy, like with other ships (Caroline and Klaus in TVD, Bellamy and Raven in The 100), it might not be literally at first sight, but the result is the same: they might know of each other, but it is the first time that they really MEET, that something HUGE happens (Raphael feeding on Isabelle, Klaus offering Caroline his blood, Bellamy and Raven’s first time), when you can feel it. I love these cases too, because it offers the possibility of including a messy history/start/etc. (something that you can see at various points of this list lol), while simultaneously giving me the opportunity of experiencing the LAFS moment on present time, instead of in flashbacks (Elektra and Matt) or references (Harvey and Scottie in Suits).
-UNPLANNED, UNFORESEEN, UNWITTING. “But it doesn’t make any sense, it came out of nowhere!!” – the fandom lol
This is somewhat related to the LAFS point, and a criticism I’ve seen time and again about more than one of those ships, but in this case is multiplied by a hundred xD 
And I wanted to make a separate point for this because, lbr -you rarely see this complaint (or at least not as generalized) when a PILOT ShowTP goes for LAFS. But that is something I love about these ships: it wasn’t in the original plan, there was no “build-up” that could have pointed at it, and it’s likely that the writing team behind it never had an inkling of the effects the ship could have on the writing. Some of my favourite cases are Bellamy and Raven, Caroline and Klaus, Bonnie and Kai, Emori and Murphy… these ships irremediably alter the foundations of their ‘verse, they re-shape the story. I love that something that came “out of nowhere” can have that effect. I love it. 
This meta by @candyumbrella does a great job explaining this (far better than I could, and besides, this post is already getting longer than I expected ^^), and it even does it through Isabelle and Raphael. Her Ted and Tobin’s posts in general have been illuminating wrt how tv writers work, and in relation to this post, I’m more aware now of what makes me ship certain things, why something that on paper should be appealing to me falls flat, etc. I’d recommend them all, but beware because they will take hours of your life XD
-STAR-CROSSED LOVERS. “If it takes fighting a war for us to meet, it will have been worth it.” – Hamilton
Was there anyone who did not FREAK THE FUCK OUT with the “at the brink of war” line? Because I don’t believe them.
Look, it’s obvious. It’s cliché. I don’t care. I live for this trope. Allison and Scott from Teen Wolf was one my favourite instances of this trope (my bbys ;_;); it was one of the things that interested me of Allison/Derek too, as a crack ship; it was the whole premise of Still Star-Crossed and I’m not even gonna pretend I didn’t shamelessly enjoy every second. It was what instantly made Rosita/Waverly my OTP in Wynonna Earp, aka the most impossible out of all my rareships xD. Priya/Sierra and Tony/Victor in Dollhouse (I never know wtf to call the people on this show istg) had this element too, even if it was in a “us vs the world” sense, more than “we’re on different sides of a conflict way bigger than us and everything is stacked against us fuck” lol. Cassian and Jyn could go there too.
And obviously, Isabelle and Raphael as a ship have this written on its DNA, given how the ‘verse positions Shadowhunters and Downworlders. Outside the 219 scene (*_*), I think 213’s meeting in the alley managed to showcase it really well.
-EX-SOMETHING, EX-MAYBE, EX-ALMOST. “Well never be done with each other.” – Shadowhunters 
I loooooove exes. Actual exes, proto exes, centuries-old exes. Something I love even more is “bitter exes that still have a special connection no one else gets or beats” (Camille and Magnus, Carlos and Kisa on FDTD, Elektra and Matt, Harvey and Scottie -and on the bitterest, most fucked up side, with ships like Katherine and Stefan on TVD or Derek and Kate on Teen Wolf. I even consider Rosita and Waverly could belong here, idc if it was one simple kiss okay xD). Obviously Isabelle and Raphael aren’t bitter, but they might get there, if I’m lucky! A girl can dream! (weird thing to say about an otp? I don’t care xD)
And one thing that is significant of these types of ships, and obviously of Raphabelle, is that, whether they’re together or not (hell, Izzy and Raphael have never really “dated”), narratively speaking, it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t make any difference. They’re still connected, one simple scene where they merely look at each other across a crowded room can resurrect the ship after years not even speaking to each other. Hell, with Caroline and Klaus it only took one phone call xD 
-CAN’T QUIT EACH OTHER. “I’m just asking for a little taste.” – Shadowhunters
I guess this relates somewhat to the previous point, but I wanted to reference the addiction plot because for me it isn’t a bug, it’s a feature xD I’ve seen people say things like “I know they started out as problematic™ with the addiction, but now that they’re over that, they could be a gr10 ship!!”, and fuck that¸ tbh xD They’re a great ship because of the addiction storyline. It adds this messed up layer of wonder, of doubt, over the ship that I love. And obviously, there’s the appeal of “we’re bad for each other but we can’t stay apart!!” angst. My lizard brain likey. And it’s definitely a huge part of the appeal of Matt and Elektra, BatCat in general…
-SHARING SECRETS. “Nobody knows. Except for you.” – Shadowhunters
Things like Isabelle admitting she doesn’t feel strong, Raphael revealing the story about her sister, Bellamy telling Raven about how he felt about his mother’s death, Harvey confessing about Mike’s fraud to Scottie even if he knows it won’t make any difference, or only being capable of admitting to her voluntarily that he’s seeing a therapist… That kind of thing gives me so much joy :D
And lbr, the “except for YOU” part? HUGE draw, yup. 
-CHARGED INTIMACY. “#they might as well have been alone #were there other people in the scene? who cares. they were all irrelevant. – @magalimoons lol
Any shipper would know what I’m talking about. That moment where Isabelle leaves mid-conversation with Alec and Meliorn in 214 to go to Raphael, or when they talk at the end of 210, or when they talk in 219. Bellamy and Raven in 413, when he’s telling her how much they need her and everyone and everything else disappears of the room (that’s the scene referenced above lol), or when A.L.I.E. posses Raven, and despite everyone else being one room away without even a door separating them, this feeling of intimacy falls over the scene. Caroline and Klaus looking at each other when he appears during the graduation event in 423, Root and Shaw in PoI. Literally everything about Rizzy in 209.

This has been one of my favourite tropes for-fucking-ever, guys. I think my first experience with it was Blade? Or Angel and Buffy? I’d say Blade. In any case: it changed my fucking life. The fact that Rizzy includes it is the cherry on top of this beautiful ship-cake.
On another note: blood transfusions totally count xD Furiosa and Max come to mind, for example.
There are other things that add to the ship for me: Raphael’s aceness (I project a lot onto him even without it so), the weird catholic/heretic themes xD, how beautiful they look together (I once was accused of “only” liking them because they looked hot together, which. LOL at the only, given this post and every other I’ve written about them, but also. OFC I like that they look hot together. That’s not only a good thing, it’s an IMPORTANT thing, among other reasons, because if the writers like your ship, they will look hot together xD).
And it’s not that if it doesn’t have any of those I won’t like a ship XD; in fact, some of my biggest OTPs lack some or even most of these traits (Gabrielle and Xena, Brigan and Fire in the Seven Kingdoms Trilogy, Clark and Lois in some versions), or that there aren’t other romantic tropes I love that don’t fit Rizzy (the Unholy Matrimony trope is one of my favourites, for example), but well. I know what I’m about xD

How do you feel about shikamaru?
I might get some heat about what I’m gonna post because EVERYONE loves shikamaru but Idc (this post is SUPER long)
Okay I actually did like shikamaru especially in the beginning of naruto part one he was just a lazy kid that became a ninja because its father told him to or whatever he didn’t really care he rather just sleep and then we were told he was Brilliant and all that and I was like okay cool
he wasn’t very strong or anything however if his teammates and close childhood friends ino and choji were in danger he would step up and get off his ass! I really liked him in the beginning because he wasn’t all about naruto he was more about his own team
But ugh he went down hill once he saw asuma sensei die (I hate asuma don’t get me started lol) he changed so bad and I hated how they only focused on him like he was the ONLY one who lost there sensei! asuma left a woman pregnant but we only care about shikamaru feelings? We didn’t see how choji or ino felt about losing there sensei like it’s crazy
Anyways the whole hidan fight… there were SO many things wrong with the fight however the first thing wrong is WHY DOES SHIKAMARU GET TO GO OUT AND GET REVENGE BUT SASUKE CAN’T?¿? like the hidden leaf is soooo anti revenge but they let shikamaru (I’m not adding choji and ino because they didn’t do anything in the fight) go out and kill hidan wtf?
Also second thing wrong with the fight is shikamaru is suppose to be this amazing genius right? And he had this amazing plan in his head right? But what was this amazing plan? They didn’t know kakashi was going with them until last minute However they only reason they got out alive was kakashi (and then naruto and Yamato got there later) so how were they gonna win or at least SURVIVE if kakashi didn’t go with thim?
thing is they say shikamaru is this *genius* but we never really get to see his amazing brain at work! he always comes up with subpar plans plus he’s always over confident ino and choji could’ve died in that fight but he didn’t even think about that he just wanted revenge and his plans always have a bunch of “what if’s?” Surrounding them! Like what if kakashi didn’t get kakazu blood? What if hidan cut shikamaru legs instead of his face? What if naruto and Yamato didn’t get there in time? What if kakashi didn’t show up AT ALL!?!?!
Another thing about the fight is that THEY ALL SHOULD’VE HAVE DIED or at least been gravely injured listen shikamaru is not skilled enough to take on hidan during the fight Idc what anyone says he was a chunin yes he’s *smart* however his strength is meh at best
during the hidan and asuma fight you can see clearly how skill hidan is!! like nothing is touching him shikamaru already tried his shadow techniques and he ain’t even come close hidan was flipping and flying through the fucking air!!!
So how is a average chunin beating a s-class criminal? It doesn’t add up Idc how *smart* you think this boy is
Oh and one part I hate during the fight is when kakashi is fighting hidan with a fucking kunai! Hidan is an amazing fighter especially with his scythe so how can a man wielding a dumb ass kunai be able to take on hidan and his scythe? Makes no sense!
Another thing I hated is how they made choji and ino USELESS in the fight ino could’ve distracted kakazu with a mind technique while choji and kakashi go for the kill or she could’ve let choji and kakashi work together to *defeat* kakazu (like idk why kakashi swear he had to do it alone) and ino distracted hidan with her mind techniques and shikamaru finishes him off?
Shikamaru is just to full of himself and everyone in the naruto verse praises him for subpar plans? Like the war arc the best plan he had was to let everyone make some weak ass earth wall and people told him if anyone can make that wall it won’t be strong enough and he just doesn’t LISTEN! It’s because he’s so *smart* that he thinks he’s always right or he can’t ever make a mistake like EVERYONE makes mistakes
HE JUST DOESN’T THINK OUT HIS PLANS CLEARLY
Also I didn’t like the way hidan died I thought it was pretty cruel? I’m just saying aren’t they the “good guys” but letting him rot in a ditch is horrible and cruel punishment I rather him rot in a cell for the rest of his life but that’s my personal opinion anyways there’s a lot more I can say but I’ll just end it here
so to summarize everything I just said I don’t like shikamaru because:-They say he’s smart but his actions don’t make me believe he’s really a genius
-His character went to shit after asuma died
-He never thinks he’s wrong
-He’s so full of himself
-And everyone praises him for weak ass strategies

Muse A is the typical nerdy, smart girl who gets straight A’s and spends the majority of her time either studying or reading. Muse B is her tutor student, not the most popular guy, but he is in the right crowd. People know his name, he is on the basketball team, and he gets invited to all the parties. To say the two are on opposite ends of the social spectrum would be an understatement.  Where Muse A only sees him in an academic sense and more of dumb jock then anything, Muse B wants to see if he can break her out of her shell or prove that she is just as much as a teacher’s pet as people say. After endless sessions of pestering and calling her stuck up, Muse A agrees to let Muse B take her to some sort of party. One weekend Muse B takes Muse A to a party, seeing if she’ll let loose, which she finally does. After that night, Muse A and Muse B see each other in a different sort of way. Their friendship develops and Muse A begins to show her true colours, while Muse B does the same, proving them to be more alike then they thought.
pleeeaaaase give me a plot where muse a is a popular cheerleader, and a total bitch. muse b is a little nerd guy who can be a little feisty at times, but generally sticks to himself. not very many people know that he’s got an attitude, so muse a is dared to court and date him so she can go to prom with him and dump him in front of everyone in the student body. mean, right? well, muse b is probably one of the only guys not lusting after the head cheerleader — at least, that’s what he wants to think. we start off this plot from the beginning, and obviously sees what happens but muse a is totally going to start falling for muse b whilst she is making him fall for her. cliche, right? idc i need this so badly
broadway au: two girls that are the leads of the rival shows (sort of like smash tbh???) they are the complete opposite of each other, one is super fucking into musicals and like it’s their passion and it’s all they have ever wanted and the other is like naturally talented and loves it but like wasn’t introduced to it until like late into high school and they butt heads but always end up seeing each other at different events
I really want a 1x1 in which a girl finds out she’s pregnant with her ex’s baby, but since he’s the one who broke up with her, she feels like if she tells him, he’ll think that she’s trying to manipulate him into getting back with her. But at the same time, she wants to keep the baby, so she has to basically hide it all. Which technically shouldn’t be that hard, since the two of them are now done with university, and have stable jobs. But of course, things can’t be that easy, and she ends up stumbling upon him when she’s on vacation of all places. After seeing her way too pregnant for it to be a new thing, he doesn’t take long to put two and two together, and let’s just say that he’s not too happy about the whole thing. So while he tries to hide her and what happened from his inquisitive family (whom he’s on vacation with), he also tries to get answers out of her. Like, why did she think it was okay not to tell him anything, and why did she decide to keep the baby even though she was on her own, etc. So yeah, it could be angsty as fuck, and like eorgjeroigjeroigje someone please do this with me.
I want a plot where muse A and muse B got together when they were young, and married each other shortly after they turned eighteen. However, due to not really being ready for marriage muse a cheated on muse b. When muse B found out they were angry and demanded a divorce, something muse A didn’t try to fight against. Although it took them some time, muse A and muse B became friends again and they became each others confidant – something that seemed to get in the way of their new relationships. Whenever muse A or muse B began to date someone else, they would say that there was no romantic feelings left for the other, but their new partners always felt as if they were second best which lead to neither of them having long lasting relationships. Over the years, they occasionally found themselves sneaking in a kiss or ending up in bed after one too many glasses of wine – but they always promised themselves it was just a mistake. Now in the latter stages of their twenties, muse A and muse B find themselves both single with their feelings for the other muse beginning to grow again – but neither of them know how to bring up the topic in case they lost the friendship they built up.
I really want to do a 1x1 where Muse A and Muse B, met at a bar one night and ended up having a deep conversation that culminated in a make-out session. Muse A promised to call Muse B, but never did and Muse B didn’t have Muse A’s phone number. A couple of months passed with Muse B thinking about their night with Muse A - not being able to find that connection with someone else. Then Muse B finally meets Muse A again, only to find Muse A is dating their best friend. Despite both parties trying to push aside their feelings after meeting again, things get complicated. (They could either decide to keep things friendly or it would lead to a relationship, depending on how the rp goes).

soulmate au where they hate each other and when they find out they’re soulmates they’re like “where’s the fuckin’ gift receipt because I want to return this defective piece of trash”
ok but what about a m/f plot where he is the innocent and kind one who volunteers at the hospital and walks old ladies across the street, while she is the stereotypical delinquent who drinks and fights and goes through hearts faster than cigarettes. and everyone disapproves of them because he is a distraction and she is a terrible idea, but it’s all irrelevant in the end because she shows him the world, and he shows her the goodness within it.
pls can someone give me a really domestic f/f plot kind of based on the fosters where they have a bunch of kids and they all just love each so much and one wants to have more kids but the other is kind of hesitant because they already have four kids and like there’s planning kids’ birthday parties and family outings and then anniversary dates that are interrupted and adopting pets from the shelter AND FUCK I NEED THIS.

I wanna do that thing where we pick FCs and names but put them in different aus. We can have tons of threads going on for different plots. Saw a new plot today? We could make a new verse for our characters. Every plot we ever wanted to do could be incorporated. Not feeling a thread or plot anymore? We could drop it and start a new one. It’s kind of like a 1x1 indie account. Imagine all the places we could take our characters. Someone do this with me.
famous au where we played child best friends in a tv show when we were really young now its been like fifteen years and now we play love interests in this new teen hit tv show plot tho
i’d give anything for a mumu based on the secret circle (book series/short lived tv show). six young adults involved in a coven. most of them grew up together in a small, new england fishing town where everyone knows everyone. one day, they learn that they’re witches and warlocks, powers that were hidden from them because of their parents not wanting to get them involved in dark things. they’re supposed to use their powers to battle the forces of evil, to be good. what do they do instead? one makes it storm when her mother won’t buy her a new car. another changes their hair color every two weeks because they’re bored.  one of them makes it so music randomly plays whenever they walk into a room to get attention. there’s another that’s on the volleyball team at their college and they use magic to help them win. instead of using their powers for some epic battle of good and evil, they use them like any other millenial would – to get free breakfast, a few extra minutes of sleep, a nice apartment to live in, etc. we could each play three characters or maybe we have more than one mun involved but pleASE!!! someone give this to me!! i want a group of six young witches & warlocks being reckless as hell and loving life!! plus, imagine a giant brotp or poly ship?? like, PLEASE
Muse A and Muse B hate each other, and they’re not even sure why. They’ve never really spoken, but their personalities clash in almost every way possible. When they get paired together for the baby project in health class, neither of them are pleased about it. Especially since no matter how much they beg, the teacher refuses to let them switch partners, so they’re forced to try and find a way to at least work together or risk failing the class.
Muse A was dating muse B’s sister, but broke it off when he found out his girlfriend had cheated on him. Muse A and muse B had always been friends, and while muse B understood why muse A broke up with their sister, they had to take their sister’s side – which meant letting go of their friendship. Until muse A and muse B where picked to be the leading roles in the school – made complicated by the fact the lines between a staged and real romance begin to blur.
Muse A just had their heart broken and decided to shy away from relationships, so their friends dragged them out for a night to get them out of the house. Enter muse B. Someone who spends the night flirting with muse A, but gets nowhere. Muse B gives muse A their number, saying if they change their mind to call. Muse A, after some prompting from friends, calls muse B and they go out on a date – one they both enjoy. But just as muse A comes around to the idea of a new relationship, muse B finds out that muse A’s ex, is muse B’s sibling.
Muse A and muse B had the perfect marriage. They were happy, just bought their first house and had a baby. Until muse B tragically died – or at least that’s what muse A thought. Muse B had witnessed a crime, and had to be put in witness protection. Not wanting to risk the life of muse A and their child, muse B let them believe that they were dead. When the trial is finally over with, and the threat is locked away, muse B is left to go back to their old life but has no idea how to tell muse A about what happened.
Muse A and muse B attend the same boarding school, but have never gotten along. Muse B is friends with muse A’s former best friend, and has only heard bad things about muse A. Muse A thinks muse B isn’t as smart as he seems to think he is. The only problem is that their names are right next to each other on the register, so they keep getting paired together. As time goes on, the more they seem to hate each other and they just refuse to work together. Until one of their teachers finally has enough, and tells them if they don’t work together they’ll fail the course. Being forced to work together, they actually get to know each other – and while they still might not get along too well, they are learning they don’t hate each other quite as much as they thought they did.

Thoughts on Down
This is a long-ass shit, and I’m not forcing you to read. Also, please be reminded that this is just MY opinion. We all have different opinions, and I’m here to simply share my thoughts, and not to convince you to change yours. So please don’t go to my ask pushing your opinion. I already heard yours. I woke up to a bunch of “asks” and I already know that some don’t like it, while some do.
My initial reaction:
• why is this so auto-tuned? Okay, Dinah’s voice sounds like smooth warm caramel on top of a sundae. Why is this so basic? Lauren’s adlibs tho! Why are the lyrics so generic? Oooh WFH melody… It’s gonna be a bop! Wait why is the chorus so blandly repetitive? But it’s not that bad. Why do they sound so alike?
• and picture me with my earphones on listening to the first verse, pre-hook, chorus and shit with a pensive look on my face, and disappointment running through my head like damn I wanted more…
But then Gucci Mane came in, (and I know I’m the minority in this one), but for me, the first authentic reaction the song elicited from me was his part.
Why? Because his part was so off and out of nowhere that it took me out of the rut I was in. Like imagine a flat line where the song was just monotonous, like a car cruising on a smooth freeway (not bad, but also kind of boring) but then you run into a pothole and you get jerked off your stupor…
That’s what gucci’s part was for me. A tiny spike on that flat line. A deviation that held my attention. I’m not saying it’s amazing. I’m saying that the grating sound of the bass and the randomness of it was what made me smile while listening to it. I’m not even exaggerating when I say that I was smiling the whole time I was listening to that weird bass with a tiny bit of goosebumps on my skin because I knew then that I COULD like Down without lying to myself. It was the only thing that caught my attention, aside from Lauren’s adlibs (which, girl, I wish she did more. I live for Lauren going offffff)
Don’t get me wrong though, I’m so done with these collabs with rappers, like I wanted to hear them alone, like they did with Boss (idc if you say that one is trash lmao, Boss is a bop for me. I fucking love that shit 😂), but if they really have to collab with rappers, I wish it wasn’t Gucci. Maybe Chance, or Migos damn…
But if it were up to me, I wish they would have collabed with female rappers. I still am salty that NTKG wasn’t utilized much. A missed opportunity with Missy Elliott like bitch you had to release TMG over NTKG? NTKG was at least more authentic with the sound it’s trying to project. It was old school and it owned it. Like Voicemail was reminiscent of 90’s bops and not lacing it with today’s trendy dancehall or tropical vibe. It has its own sound, and not a mix of everything generic we hear today where we hear a song and we automatically hear the edm producers more than the artist.
But OMG I digress, sorry.
So yeah, DOWN…
So after my initial reaction, I gave it a couple more listen, and then I watched the live performance, then I slept, then I woke up the next day and I listened to the audio a couple more times, watched the live several more, and here’s my conclusion:
• Down is that kind of a summer bop which grows on you. It’s not a bad song. It’s simplistic but also season-friendly. It’s probably what the label insisted on as their first release.
The reason why it probably feels lacking for me, aside from its repetitiveness, is that maybe it lacks another verse. It’s shorter than WI and WFH so it feels incomplete. There must be a reason for it. It could really be just a teaser.
• at this point in my 5h-stanning life, I’m not even expecting anything mind-blowing. All I want is for 5H to slay the charts, because this should be their era. They seem genuinely happy now and my god after everything they’ve been through (label shit and all), ALL FIVE OF THEM deserve our unwavering support.
• Sure, Down isn’t what I expected. Yes, I wanted more. I wanted more lyrics. I wanted a kickass sound. But, idk man, after several repeats, I think it’s a good enough bop.
• with regards to the vocals, I still hate the auto-tuned shit. I get that maybe they’re finally utilizing Lauren’s range, but I prefer that they don’t auto tune much because I could barely hear her rasp (which was still obvious in her live performance, despite the higher tone she’s using).
Maybe they’re doing it on purpose, making them sound the same as a symbol of their new sound’s “cohesiveness”, but I prefer old 5h where their voices are uniquely different.
• and I’m not even complaining that it sounds like WFH. I don’t have a problem with an artist using a tried and tested formula for ONE of their album’s single. It’s meant to hook the audience. It gives them that familiar sound which could make a NON-FAN recognize their older hits and draw them to the new one. Just because they said “NEW ERA” doesn’t mean that they should change their ENTIRE sound. There’s always that one or two singles that are meant to hook the general public. It’s a constant compromise a mainstream artist makes with their label.
(I mean, The Chainsmokers basically generate the same sound over and over and they’re charting as if they created music. And no, I’m not a big fan of the chainsmokers.
Point is, re-using WFH is not something unheard of. It’s a business move.)
You really can’t please everybody. Because when Lady Gaga released an album that felt authentic for her, some people criticized it and kept saying they wanted the old “Bad Romance” Gaga. When Lorde released her new single, Green Light, her hipster fanbase called her a sell-out and didn’t like that she’s deviated from her “sound” to be more mainstream and I was like bitch can’t an artist explore a different side of her artistry?
And on the flip side, can’t an artist use their old sound? My point is, Down was produced by the same people who made WFH for a reason. They are playing safe. They wanted a single that would generate enough attention like their previous ones did. Then maybe, just maybe, their next singles which probably showcase their authentic sound and lyrics will have as much impact since now people are paying attention. Because no matter how much we want them to be authentic, they’re still a girl group under a greedy ass label who needs them to maintain what their idea of a girl group music and image should be..
And while Down is not something I’m particularly excited about, it’s starting to get stuck in my head, and I don’t hate it. It’s a light summery chill song that’s good to play with your friends while sipping on your drinks by the pool. It is what it was supposed to be.
I get it, I was disappointed too. Down is a downer. But I’m not gonna judge the whole album with one single yet. I’m gonna wait.

Because I knew that I wasn’t expecting much from their music. I sure hope for more, definitely, BUT stanning 5H isn’t always about their music.
And just because I don’t like a few of their songs, doesn’t mean they don’t deserve my support.
I’m supporting 5h because they represent girls who are not a standard definition of what society thinks a girl should look like or how they should act like. They symbolize us. They showed us that one can achieve their dreams through hard work, and while they have been mistreated before (by their label and by fans alike) they still kept their heads up high, with grace and maturity, and kept on spreading love and inspiration, and they kept on smiling even if their hearts were breaking. They kept striving to be the best they could be, and it’s inspiring. And to see genuine warmth from these pop stars, their love and appreciation for their fans, is something that makes me wanna stan them forever. That’s why even if i really don’t like their music, I’d still keep on stanning them, because what they shared to us, the representation they gave us, the beauty and poise they all showed us, man, even if they fucking screeched for an entire album, I’ll be fuucking putting that on loop and still support their asses.
And I know it’s blind support, but I knew what I was getting into when I started supporting 5h. I wasn’t a pop person before this, I knew I won’t love their music so much. I stan them because I like them, plain and simple.
And I know it’s different for everybody. It’s all just a matter of preferences. Some could unstan just coz they don’t like the song, and that’s totally okay. We’re free to stan or unstan whoever we want. But like I said, it’s just one song. Let’s wait for the other singles and the album.
Ideally, I would love for them to show us everything they have as artists. This is their chance to go big. They have so much potential and I would have liked to see it shine while they’re still in the group. I want the brand Fifth Harmony to leave a lasting mark in this industry. I want them to be on the same spot as TLC or SG or DC. I want them to legit deserve their title.
And Down is not it. But guess what? Down is just one single. I’m gonna wait patiently for the rest of their stuff. I ONLY NEED THAT ONE CLASSIC HIT I’VE BEEN CRAVING FOR SINCE I STARTED LISTENING TO THEM. ONE CLASSIC SONG THAT WOULD STILL BE PLAYED GENERATIONS LATER BECAUSE IT’S JUST SO DAMN RELATABLE AND HEARTFELT.
That’s all I want. And I hope I’ll find that in 5H3.
Yes, Down is empty.
But I won’t unstan just because of one song. We can be disappointed (as I sure was), but I think that 5H is worth more than a few musical disappointments.

DOWN — The “It Could’ve Been Better” Single
Now I’m not speaking for every harmonizer here. Obviously. But I feel like a majority are in the camp of “Down is a good song but it’s not exactly what I was wanted”. Of course everyones going to be hype the first couple listens until you really settle down and pay attention to the lyrics, vocals, nuances.
Down is a good song. But it could’ve been A LOT better. Sadly I think it’s because of how it is geared for a marketing stratgey. And on that front it’s kind of a work of art. It’s the same WFH team and formula, Gucci is huge in the rap/rnb/hiphop circles so more exposure, it’s a perfect summer jam, just a touch sexual, and it’s less then 3 minutes so its good for radio and streaming. On these points it’s perfect but for their debut as a 4some. It got me lowkey worried but more irritated too. Mostly because most fans will defend it even if they admit it’s not their best (and saying it’s their best video or song can just go dive off a cliff right now because wfh is superiour in EVERY WAY).
Here’s just some of my complaints and don’t take them to heart because if you like the song I’m not saying it’s bad, it’s just problem I can pick out.
It’s SHORT. Is an understatment. I remember a couple days before the release we had found the credits with Gucci and the 2:44 information and I was pretty irritated from the get go because not only is it a short fucking song (WFH being 3:33 seconds with everyone getting a verse + ty) but a male feature we didn’t really want or need (his verse is fine btw).
Dinah and Ally have to settle for the same verse that’s only 3 lines while Lauren and Normani get pretty unique verses that are 4/8 lines. Now it’s a postive and a negative and I won’t be negative about this until I see where the next single lands but I’m already feeling worried even with themselves in charge that the two with the least solos still end up in that position.
It has no climax. You listen to Work From Home and right after Ty’s verse (like the C verse or not idc) It goes hard and high to bring it in. Down doesn’t and I know it’s trying to blend with what’s good right now but we needed that extra high and EVEN THO I LOVE LAURENS HIGH NOTE I think Dinah and Ally should have at least gotten the medleys and adlibs for the most part at the end. 
The chorus is FUCKING repetive. I know lots of people had this problem with WFH. But only the chorus was repetative. I’d have less of an issue if D and A verses were different or if the chorus changed up a bit. But you have half a song that’s basically the same and it makes me go dizzy.
Now since this is extra late I can talk about the video and the problems I had with that becuase not only did we find out it was kind of rushed but also that the director had no idea what he was doing.
the fucking set. the motel idea was perfectly fine but this set was a shit show to look at for most scenes. aka the chreograpghy and the opening scene with the car and the doors and even the walking up the stairs. it just looks pedestrian and standard. look at wfh. not a single shot it wasted in that scene. nothing is added to fill space or convey how the girls transitioned into certain scences.
the editing is lack luster, the solo scenes are top tier could’ve used a bit of something extra but the girls are hardly singing AT the camera which makes them look very good in the lighting and though this was by no means choppy editing back and forth. certain parts cut the dancing frames and it’s unapologetic to it and ruins the flow. 
the pool scene, it looks good on inital viewing but it bothered me from the get go including the cut frames into gucci verse. a few would’ve been fine but it serves little purpose. the lighting is great but the SINGING at the camera esp normani makes my brow twitch because it’s one of my biggest pet peeves (unless it has real purpose or direction which it don’t)
gucci looks standard and had no reason not to be in the video. it just looks lame. it’s almost same level as fetty wapp but where as the girls are having a good time in aimh with other men, gucci could’ve been the clyde to their bonnie and work his way into the scene cleverly. 
the lack of story line when it was so simple. on the run to a motel with a bag of money with the already police sires amped up would’ve made a world of difference. something simple could’ve done just so much more effort.
Many of our expectations were held from a impact like WFH busting on scene and taking names. Down isn’t gonna do that. It’s gonna be good and work well thru the summer but it’s a snack. And we really need a meal.

So, @morleybell got an ask on the above topic, and I wanted to reply to it,but it got too long so I thought I’d make it into its own post. So the question was what to reply to antis who claim Klaroline is abusive.
Here goes :
Not even in the fandom since s5(never in tumblr!tvd fandom like ever) but I do skim the tag every once in a while. Came across your post, loved the general gist of it, but would like to add some and clear up some stuff you passionately stated in bulk😆, if you don’t mind. I’ve been wanting to get this out for a long time.
I think the crux of this whole matter is an element which is called a ‘morally grey character’ ; you know the ones - not entirely a villian but too twisted to be a traditional hero. Obviously there are naysayers who say Klaus doesn’t fit into the mold of someone w/ grey morality, hey haters gonna hate but the jury’s still out on that one apparently even though it’s obvious. Moving On. More on this later.
• agree with the SC part. If one looks at the whole picture from the start, Caroline got shitted upon and shoved to side by the writers and her supposed ‘friends’ right from the start in favour of Elena even by stefan. The afterthought. The girl every new male addition to the cast(not all but close) hooked up with. The secondary character whose romantic plot usually has their fan going “uhmmm not exactly the one I’d choose for her. This is just settling” because hey!one needs to fill up the episode, right? Who cares if she was a second choice?
For me, Klaroline came in at that part of the plot, where I was just about tearing my hair apart because the MF gang were really pissing me off. Caroline was never a priority, everyone was willing to let her be collateral damage in this ever revolving war against elena, she was just supposed to accept that her best friend is dating her assaulter. I mean I get that she is the cornucopia of giving, but thats what friends are for! To make these givers realise that enough is enough, now think about yourself, make yourself a priority. The Caroline I fell in love with initially, the one with the big dreams, the one who wanted to live live to the fullest, explore the entire world because yes embracing vampirism gave her that opportunity….That Girl was entirely diminished by the end. There’s growing up and having responsibilities and then there’s having to grow up because of not-their-doing responsibilities. Klaus had come in a AT THAT CRUCIAL POINT. I remember thinking ‘yesss, she’s a priority for once’ also ‘idc if this relationship works out or not, but this one can be her ticket and reason to move out of that soul-sucking selfish town and friends’
• IT’S A SUPERNATURAL SHOW. This. Funny and irritating why people forget this. The show depicts them as these all encompassing, good in combat and strategy, well versed in lore of the centuries, sensual, blood-drinking vampires…I’m afraid that goes hand in hand with blood and sex and murder and deceit. If you want a century old virgin goody two shoes, I believe you’re in the wrong franchise. For this show, its not about who is good and who is bad, it’s about who is evil and who is more evil, and that too is relative on how you define evil/what you consider evil. Also what’s blatant in this fandom, is the hypocrisy. This is what I wanted to especially expound upon :
So what irritates me about the fans the most is their hypocrisy. Also the puritan fanaticism some have embraced and loudly preached. I wont even include DE and Damon in my arguments, i think they’ve been discussed at length by all (like it deserves to be) this is better explained with Stefan. When people say Klaus is a mass murderer and has killed soooo many people over the years, ergo klaus is evil but stefan is my innocent bae(not verbatim but the intent is obvious)…. conveniently forgetting the fact that stefan killed so many people too, went ripper twice, in his 300(?) yrs…had he lived as long as klaus lived…who know whether the number would have risen or not (hint : it will)Imagine living on and on for so many years, the world around you changing, civilisations changing,people you loved dying, but you’re set in stone. Immortality has been romanticised like all get go, but realistically I can’t imagine someone not going absolute nutters every once in a while whether or not you have a reason to keep living on. The show has shown only the positive sides of Stefan and his dealing with vampirism which in turn makes him appealing, but I can’t imagine someone with Stefan’s characterisation - the broodiness and the guilt - would live a long innocent life. Psychologically, something will always make him crack. I know I’m coming across as someone who hates Stefan which is simply not true. S1-3 Stefan and S1-4 Caroline were my absolute faves. Believe me, I only watched the show until then for these two. But I realised we do excuse his murders w/ - he didn’t want to, he feels guilty, he repented, it’s out of his control. But ultimately clinically speaking(with my inner stefan fan supressed)…There were dead bodies. Families mourned. Lives were taken. Stefan regretted it yes, but it doesn’t give them their life back. None of these vampire’s victims (Salvatore’s, Mikaelsons’,Forbes’) are coming back. Why do we not still hate stefan or any 'good side’ vampires for that, but love to do it to the Mikaelsons?
Second thing I mentioned was puritanism. Simply put, this goes in the good box ; this goes in the baaaad box. Some people differentiate characters like - this is a good person(can do no wrong) and this is a bad person(be suspicious of this one’s dealings ) from the initial interactions and context of the show. Characters on the 'Good’ side in the start, are reveled for doing 'a thing’ ; but if a potentially grey character from the 'Bad’ side does the same 'thing’ they are jeered upon for doing it. Am I saying don’t point out and jeer evil wrongdoings of evil characters? NO. I’m not trying to be apologist for villains, most deserve what we throw at them. BUT But but, in this case, on this show, is the line differentiating them really that clear? Are these 'good’ and 'bad’ characters exclusively on those sides? Like you mentioned, Kol is killed, Klaus retaliates. Had a sibling from the 'good ’ side been killed by the Mikaelsons, pretty sure they’d have retaliated the same way. We cheer one but jeer the other? Why? The deed is the same, cruel and inhuman on both accounts, yet we celebrate one and mourn other?
What people instantly think when I say this, 'you’re probably a person who excuses abuse in real life too’'you believe this…you must be horrid in real life’….*shrugging* A. There is a clear divide between fiction and reality. one I have to actually live in and the other is entertainment. Damn sure I can differentiate between them. B. There is an actual sense is not automatically trusting the NiceGuy, everyone has flaws if you look hard enough, they’re gonna come out eventually I’d rather not be lulled in a false sense of security. I’m not saying The Mikaelsons are good people and they just need some lurrvvve and understanding. What I’m saying is the Mikaelsons are shitty. But so are the Salvatores. So is Elena. And sometimes so is Caroline. If its just fiction, isn’t it hypocritical thay we only hold few accountable, but excuse the behaviour of the rest?
When people say KC is 'abusive’ I always take in with the idea that it’s because Klaus is heartless mass murderer. Which he is. There’s no going around that. He IS NOT a good guy. That stabbing didn’t really make sense to me…why did he do it? But tyler’s mum yeah…if you can excuse the council for their behaviour, don’t be a hypocrite please when the favor is returned. On a completely different but still related note, this is similar to the bullying topic in HP. When it comes to being bullies for whatever reason, people easily excuse the marauders because ultimately they were on the 'light’ side. But draco is held accountable even though he was technically younger than james. But back on the topic at hand.
But KC? Like you provided the lines and to anyone who watched the show….Caroline was not impressed by him. Attracted to him?Sure. But she never acted on it at all until 5×11. She kept questioning his motives, was suspicious of his moves, never defended his actions, brought up his misdeeds to him when he tried to pretend to be a good guy, tried to sneakily gain favours from him utilising his interest in her, it goes on and on. You never hear a single praise for him from her lips (as far as I can remember) All she did was that she gave him a benefit of doubt. Try to understand his motives rather than just IDENTIFY. EVIL. KILL. Try to understand that someone who has lived this long, what goes on thay ancient head, did he ever want to be human? , how does he justify his misdeeds? But Was it enough? Well canonically, apparatently not.
And I get it. I’m not saying excuse the murders by the Mikaelson’s too. NO. I’m saying hold all of them responsible. Caroline. Stefan. Damon. Klaus. And then critic the characters after that. Don’t claim some sort of moral high ground when there isn’t any.
This show, these writers…when given enough screen time, they could redeem an irredeemable villain of their choosing. Seriously, for real. (Damon gets it but Katherine or Kai(this one would need toooo much work) doesnt) and people lap it up. Basically, it’s on the writers on who they choose to get to be the GoodGuy, which villian gets forgiveness for the misdeeds even though the other villains did the same thing. I don’t watch TO but I’m sure they gave 'reasons’ and 'backstory’ on why Klaus behaves the way he does. I mean if you think in a critical analysis sort of way, that is how a redemption arc works. You get to know the inner workings and history of the protag and what experiences made them the person they are, then it’s upto the audience whether or not they forgive them.
But I digress. What is the main point of this entirely too long rant, is that saying KC is abusive is just absurd. Not on this show, not in this context. If its klaus that is your problem, you better have a problem w/ the rest of the lot too. Also he is the one guy who was the only one who asked Caroline whether she would like the cure instead, didn’t use her solely to get to elena, prioritised her, didn’t think Caroline’s love to plan and shop and everything that does not scream stereotypical intelligent girl as shallow and superficial, gave her plenty opportunities to make something more out of her life if she wanted with or WITHOUT HIM. If she wanted to fly free alone for a decade or even a century or two, go for it as long she came back to him when she’s had her fill. Yeah, that just screams abusive and controlling to me😒
Bottom line anti kcs, I’m sorry you wanted this to be a black and white clear issue so you justify your hate. But it’s simply not. I’m not saying KC IS an angelic done-no-evil ship, but when ships all around are pirates, what’s another one,eh.
Also, might as well reiterate, I haven’t seen the show after 4×22, just kept up w/ the show from a lot of different shipper’s (SE, KC and SC shippers too unfortunately) blogs and my sister who watches the show, so I might be off w/ some of the facts. If any of them are blatantly obvious and it’s because I missed something crucial in the remaining seasons I’m tagging the people I’ve seen answering KC qs or were active in their KC defense so this post is refined @my-ownfairytale @klarolinedrabbles @jonsnowbitch
