Headcanon: The first time Okoye saw Attuma’s dimples…

She almost lost her train of thought. They had been talking for hours about nothing and everything. They had long since finished sparring and the sun was on its last rays. She was regaling him with stories of her childhood antics and that’s when it happened.

His smile had been slowly growing the more she spoke of what her younger self used to get up to. Finally, it broke to a full on grin and that’s when she saw them. Two indentations on each of his cheeks. Her Dora training is the only reason she did not gasp out loud.

It was a simple thing. Just a feature on his face. But for some reason it had her enthralled. How could someone so large and formidable have something so unassuming as dimples? Okoye could already tell Attuma had a soft side, but this added element makes him even softer. His eyes are sparkling and she can make out his teeth through the rebreather. With, the dimples to complete the picture he, dare she say, looks downright adorable.

She fought against running her hand across his face, but he still gave her a curious look when he noticed the expression on her face.

“I had no idea you had dimples.”

His eyes widened and two spots of lavender showed up on his cheeks. And he blushes?! Is he trying to kill me with cuteness?! The look in her eyes grew even warmer when she saw him get bashful.

This time she did not fight against touching his face. He looked up at her then and knew that something in their dynamic had shifted. He hopes this finally means he will finally get to know this extraordinary woman in entirety.
