The seekers have begun their mating season. Many of them started to clean their feathers en masse and create nests out of improvised materials from the planet Earth. On the list of those preparing for the event was the Decepticons' main trine. 

In which pair they were interested in was not yet known and now many cons were talking about it, suggesting possible suitors.

The interest of all three seekers was directed in your direction, isn't that lucky? Imagine if they had decided to start fighting over you? Oh, it would clearly have been a terrible massacre. Skywarp has been cruelly pranking both his brothers and the other Transformers just for fun, and now just imagine what he'd do if he had to get rid of his competition in earnest. Luckily for all of Nemesis, they banded together for a common goal, banded together to get you.

You didn't have a mate at all during this period. Even those previously interested seemed to have gone somewhere. But you weren't sad about it, you spent your quiet days in beautiful places, enjoying the warmth of the sun and the wind on your soft feathers. 

You don't notice the seekers hiding behind tree trunks, drooling profusely at the sheen of your body.

“Isn't that the most adorable creature in the world...?”

“By Primus, I can smell the lovely scent of that body right from here.”

“TC, Warp, shut up, she can hear you!"

Your helmet turns in their direction and the two seekers instantly flush in opposite directions, leaving poor Thundercracker looking foolishly out from behind a tree while the feathers of his quickly departing brothers fall from above. You came a little closer, interested. Out of nervousness, he broke the branch he was holding onto and found nothing better to do than awkwardly hold it out to you.

He wanted to dissolve and disappear when you chuckled and took the branch in your servos, your limbs touching.

“For me? How sweet of you.”

He smiled nervously, took a step back, and soared into the sky following his brothers. Back at their shared dwelling, TC was faced with the grumbling of his brothers.

“This isn't fair!” Warp unfolded the cushions with sudden movements, setting everything up inside the new nest. “Why on earth would you be the first to give something?”

“I wasn't trying to, it just happened and it's only a stick. Starscream, tell him!”

The trine leader patted his wings unhappily as he looked at Thunder's blue frame and sighed. The Seekers had agreed that they wouldn't argue and would just finish setting up the nest, for them and your adorable little figure.

You walked on your way, trying to find the source of the pleasant smell, assuming that somewhere nearby was a flower field or something, but you came across a very large sized nest. Smooth, neat, clearly made with diligence and talented fingers, could this really have been built by a single Transformer? 

“This is clearly built for some amazing femme. Is she a queen?”

You whisper and step closer, a little afraid of the wrath of the nest's inhabitants. Only a small squeak escapes you before you are quite suddenly pulled inside.

You regain balance and are confronted by a pair of burning red optics. And another. And another. A wave of anxiety runs down your spine, until a formers across from you speak in the semi-darkness.

“Fear not, we mean you no harm.” the voice in front of you is quiet, calm, and very familiar. Your left palm is gently squeezed, stroking your fingers with care, the inside of the nest smells pleasant. The words of the first are picked up by a former on your right.

“That's right, stay with us, we'll take good care of you.”

You adjust your vision in the dark and finally see the owners of the nest. The main trine of the Decepticons. Your fingers are gently stroking Thundercracker, Skywarp is examining your body from afar with a hungry smile, and the leader of their trine, Starscream, stands nearby. They each spread their wings proudly, posing especially for you and Thunder pulls your servo, heading towards the pile of pillows.

“Please sit down.”

He sits down himself and settles you on a soft surface until you find words.

The other Seekers come over very quickly and sit down next to you, surrounding your figure on all sides.

Skywarp lies down on the belly plates and props his helmet up with his hands, looking at you with amusement and satisfaction. You shift your gaze from him to the stirring Starscream to the side as he turns to you with a small cube of energon.

“This place is built specifically for us and you. Tell me, do you agree to be our couple during this days?” along with his words, spoken in a voice sweet as honey, he holds out the prized treat to you.

The liquid in the cube splashes tantalizingly against the walls. You run your eyes over each of them, they almost eat you with their optics and you feel it's a more than satisfying position. Your lips stretch in a soft smile as the treat passes into your hands and disappears into your mouth. You are staying.

Starscream takes genuine pleasure in running his fingers over the feathers on your wings, brushing them with a special trepidation, sometimes running them over the most sensitive areas with tantalizing slowness. You can stare shyly into the void, or close your eyes and rest, and so sometimes you don't notice the trine leader looking at you with half-closed optics and a smile of pleasure. He burns the back of your head with his gaze, strokes your shoulders, presses you against him, grinning at something and then releases you again to stroke your wings. The poor guy has a wild tactile hunger, you are his comfort, let him have some more of that sweetness. In sleep, Starscream's multi-emotional face smooths, softens, and seems to grow kinder. His lips are slightly ajar, and he sniffles, mumbling something, making the rest of the trine smile. And now you are, too.

Skywarp is too active, both of his brothers are scared to imagine what goes on in his head. He sniffs you so often and says it's the best smell in his asset, it's getting uncomfortable. You woke up in the middle of the night once when he was... well... staring at you silently in the dark. 

And he bites. And he tried to lick your fingers, quite successfully, by the way. And how can we forget his love of jokes? You're a small, sweet, adorable little bird that he wouldn't even jokingly push you off a steep cliff, but he's happy to suddenly walk through the wall of your nest and scare you. Luckily, his energy runs low throughout the day, and he curls up into a ball at your feet pretty quickly and shuts down.

Thundercracker, coming in from a long shift, loves to cuddle with you. He burrows his face between your shoulder and neck, whispering affectionate nicknames, and just relaxes with your body in his arms. He brings you shells, interestingly shaped rocks, flowers, and curious human bling that he can't find a use for in any way. He's a bit of a caretaker. On his own, he puts snacks in your mouth, kisses the top of your head, inquires about your condition and comfort. He loves having his back scratched, so he projects this onto you, often giving you sudden pleasure. Please scratch his back too, you have such beautiful hands and delightful fingers, he would die of happiness!

I Feel TFOne Could've Handled This Better...

Hot take but I feel like folks have been really generous with the take that OP was unable to find ~the perfect words~ in the heat of the moment (and thus should be given some grace) when he told D to stand down and "not be like Sentinel"... namely cuz I don't feel that the narrative supports this?

Like-- after all is said and done, OP doesn't reflect on that part of their split. He doesn't have a moment where he seeks validation or voices his regrets over the choice of his words, it's actually cut-and-dry. The narrative (as it stands) supports that OP saw D-16 acting up, so he called him out and stood on business, down to the last scenes where he's basically like "yeah it's a shame but y'all knew I had to do it to 'em."

It didn't have to be much! I'm not saying to absolve Megs, just show OP looking at things from a different perspective/contemplating a bit on that tough choice and the morality of the moment. Some examples of what I wish we had:

B-127 straight up blurting the obvious by later chatting with Orion like, "Wait so you told your best friend that he was acting just as bad as the guy who enslaved us for our entire lives and was torturing him like an hour ago? Oof. Seems kinda harsh." Then have some of OP's regret show on his face.

OP asking Elita-1 after Megs is banished if he did the right thing. Have Elita back his choice up, saying, "You should have seen what he did after you were... gone. It was terrifying. I know it was tough, but you made the right call." OP is grateful for the support, but a conflicted look still flashes across his face before he steels himself to look out towards the horizon... and the future.

Have OP walk past other mechs/former miners who didn't go with the High Guard saying stuff like, "Wish I could've given Sentinel a piece of my mind!" "Yeah, but I'm glad he's gone for good." "Ugh I miss everything." "Oh, it was crazy! Megatron picked him up and then he rrrrriiipped-- oops, hey there, Mr. Optimus... Prime... sir?" And have OP wave hello, looking a bit sick when they leave.

Post-credits scene with Starscream going on and on, asking Megs when they'll be back to teach the upstart Prime a lesson. Megs grabs his face to shut him up. "Patience, Starscream. The Prime thinks I'm no better than Sentinel... but I'll show him. He wants Iacon? He can have it. In the meantime we'll take the rest of the planet! Then I'll come back, crush Prime under my heel, and we'll take Iacon too. Sentinel's reign will barely be a footnote, because I'm about to become Optimus Prime's worst nightmare." The vocal performance would really need to sell this-- like picture Megs saying something like that from a place of anger and hurt, not so much a place of genuine evil or malice.

Basically instead of Orion's assertion being backed up as black and white/good vs bad, I wish we had some different opinions/reactions from the characters sprinkled in there. Like you can't tell me out of allllll the miners who weren't strong enough/willing to go with the High Guard and ended up sticking around that NONE of them were like "eyyo honestly?? Kiiiiinda glad Sentinel is dead. Wish I could have helped, tbh." like come onnnnn...

And you can't even argue that he's not an active threat-- I don't think everyone would see things that way! It's not just about the threat he physically has, but the threat he represents and is very likely to act upon if given the opportunity! He has a proven track record of not only being sneaky and conniving, but also capable of dealing some serious damage/killing people bigger and stronger than him, plus he has the backing of the Quints. All he'd need to do is wriggle his way out of jail and run off to his sponsors, then he'd probably be back to hurt more people! (If the Quints didn't just kill him out of incompetence lmao). There's a lot of "ifs" here, but I think it's a valid argument that not everyone would agree on what is the right or wrong way to handle Sentinel once he was down long enough to, like, do something about him.

I feel the situation needed a bit of nuance. In some way I wish they had kicked the can and had D and Orion bicker while Sentinel escaped, then have D get frustrated enough by the loss of Sentinel to point fingers (and his fusion canon) at Orion, who then falls and becomes OP. (Megs could still show some of thar emotion/remorse right after he does it too.) Not only would this open the door for a sequel, but tbh the Quint might have just killed Sentinel anyways and sought to deal with the miners uprising themselves lol. (Maybe that could have been an after credits scenes too instead of the B-127 bit??)

Would love to see a moment in a sequel where they have a calmer moment after arguing for a bit. Have OP mention how Megs was out of line, that it hurt and even scared him to see him act that way, and Megs can quietly point out "you said I was as bad as Sentinel... is that really how you see me? After everything we went through?"

Then OP can fumble the bag again lmao like "D, I... I'm sorry, that didn't come out right... but you still took things way too far..."

"Why am I not surprised-- your opinion is what matters the most! Maybe that's why you became a Prime, since you're so good at acting like the world revolves around you--!"

My Unpopular Opinion

It is an entire article at this point so sit back and grab some snacks. Ok, so I'm like a little late to the bandwagon of Season 3 of Earthspark, but it's been on my mind for a while so Imma share anyways lol

So like, I've seen lots of other opinions, calling it disappointing, lazy writing, etc. Which I agree on.. Rewatching it all from Season 1 to the very end(as of right now, not sure if more episodes are coming soon), I can definitely tell the difference in writing.. season 2 and 3 just wasn't hitting the same. So I can agree on the lazy writers/new writers that probably didn't care to look more into what exactly had been done so far..

But going on a whim of optimism here, I don't think it's all THAT bad. Granted, it sucked to see everyone come together to get rid of Mandroid just to do a complete 180 and go back to being enemies as if they didn't just accomplish something together.. but to be honest, a permanent alliance or tolerance of one another was never guaranteed. And it's not the first time Autobots, Decepticons ever allied together MOMENTARILY to defeat a common enemy, even if begrudgingly. While I do wish there would've been a bit more redemption moments.. maybe the transition of the Decepticons going back to enemies with the Autobots could've been planned out a bit better... I don't know, but I'm not really that surprised they did.

So like, take TFP for example, Megatron temporarily allied with Optimus and the others to put Unicron back in his dormant state because they knew it would negatively affect both sides. BUT do recall after Optimus sacrificed the matrix to successfully dormant Unicron again, Megatron was ready to end him then and there until he realized Optimus reverted back to Orion Pax because of Optimus sacrificing the matrix.. and then Megatron uses him to get a boost on decrypting Iacon relics.. but point is, as soon as the threat was gone, Megatron was back to being.. well.. Megatron lol.

I know how the writing is done affects both cartoons, in TFP the alliance between Megs and the Autobots gave enough obvious hints that the alliance was not going to be forever. Where in Earthspark, going off of season 1, we started off a little more on deep side, like realizations, personal feelings, etc.. So it kinda threw off the vibes at first that maybe more Cons would've done what Megatron did. I believe G.H.O.S.T was basically the obstacle in that for obvious reasons, imprisoning Decepticons and then all that mess they involved themselves in with Mandroid at the end of season 1. No one wanted to be GHOST's 'lackeys' and 'lapdogs'.

I honestly have more confidence that if Megatron changed without involving himself in such (Not wanting to say it'd be completely impossible, but probably unlikely, going off the way it was planned and written), maybe more Cons would've been more open to reconsidering, but like who wants to run under the control of humans?? Definitely not Decepticons. Megatron did it begrudgingly, but everyone tolerates the same thing differently. Given their history on talking down to humans just to end up siding with them like that? I would kind of raise my brow too tbh.

And I think G.H.OS.T basically set them in stone for just trying to go back to Cybertron. To address the 'Well, what about after Mandroid/G.H.O.S.T was defeated?' questions. I think they're just basically fed up with Earth and humans and I don't blame them tbh.(minus Starscream trying to be his little tyranical self, but I think that might've been his personal revenge for the stuff involving G.H.O.S.T, etc, or it could've just been him reverting to his old self like usual. There's been some moments known where he'd act civil in situations with the enemy even if it was mainly for bargaining or anything to better his situation then boom, back to normal. He does it a lot, though the deep conversation and things shared with Hashtag makes me question it a little, so Imma believe maybe he wanted revenge on how Earth and humans treated Decepticons after the war, personal belief of mine, not saying it's the truth).

Because the Decepticons were after the Emberstone shards to repair it and possibly use it to get back to Cybertron. Just for Starscream to awake a giant with it and try taking over Earth. Honestly, I wouldn't of been surprised if plenty of the others were ticked off to of fought so hard to repair something that had a possibility of getting them home just for one of them to turn around and use it for taking over a world.

So I personally think everything that happened after Mandroid's arc is pretty solid, it just could've been written and planned better.

🍓 how did you get into writing fanfiction? 

Oh that's something I haven't thought about in a while! Okay, so my first introduction to fandom was through DeviantArt. I grew up on transformers and went looking for cool fanart. I found some but couldn't comment without an account, so I made my first fandom account. I wasn't planning to post anything, but a stranger followed my empty blog and sent me an encouraging note saying they couldn't wait to see what I did. (I still think of them, we never became mutuals or anything, it was like they were a benevolent fairy godmother telling me to create, and then I never saw them again, but I owe them a lot!)

So I posted a few drawings and followed a bunch of people and groups on DA. I began reading fanfiction there. But I still never even thought to post my own work at the time.

But circa 2014 I am very invested in reading fic and I have a favourite Transformer character (Starscream) whom I have created an entire backstory for (sparked by a take I didn't agree with in a fic). I'm deep into mentally writing stories, with my own Mary Sues and everything. It's my daily pass-time, daydreaming these stories and meta.

It still doesn't occur to me to write any of these until one day I'm watching The Hobbit, and Ed Sheran's I See Fire plays and hits me like a lightning bolt. This song is perfect for my fav character!! Someone's got to have written about it, right???

So I scour fanfiction sites (I can't remember if I'd started reading on Ao3 yet, but I'd definitely been on FNN) but No One had written this Very Niche idea???

And that's when the concept of writing my own fic started. I just had too. The idea was too good. So my first fic was a song fic writing on the DA STASH program (not even Word lol. This thing didn't even have a word count, and my editing process was to read the wip backwards word for word, searching for misspellings or other typos).

And after that I suddenly realised that if I wanted people to see my fav character in the same light I did, I had to write it. And so it began.

I eventually started posting on FNN, and then in 2016 on Ao3. My first Marvel fic followed a similar process where I got an idea and it was just too good and people needed to know about it, so Lessons Learned was written on STASH. (I think around then I finally moved to Word XD). I still have an old account on DA, but I haven't been active on it in many years. It does hold a special place in my heart for being the place I started learning about fandom and writing in though.

So I guess I started writing fanfic because no one seemed to be writing my stories, and I had Opinions that needed to be shown.

🍦 name three good things about a character you hate

Oh geez, lemme think.

Quickest name comes to mind is Rumlow. But that's in a Love to hate situation. I know some people like to redeem Rumlow, but I love how he can shorthand so easily as just the worst guy you know.

He's just the worst (positive). No matter what AU you're reading you know any character named Rumlow is going to be the worst scum ever.

I mean, I've heard about what it's like to live with large, bad burns. So good for him for making it through the acute period and living with it I guess.

Kind of ties in to the first point, but there's not much he wouldn't believably do. You want an unhinged bad guy? Rumlow will help you out. Does he have morals or did he lose them with the burns? Your choice writer! He's up for anything.

You chucked me out like I was trash, For that you should be dead—

Starscream watched as you walked through the Academy. Ever since you became close to Soundwave and Knockout you've been avoiding Starscream. The two of you continued to speak outside of school but that wasn't enough for the Seeker in training. He wanted… something more…

But! But! But!

He watched as your pedes walked up to Knockout. The senior prom was to be soon. But… something didn't sit right with him. He couldn't see you to tell you he wanted to take you to the dance. But… he saw you walk up to Knockout.

"Hey Knockout, would you like to go go the dance tonight?" You asked. Knockout agreed and this made Starscream's energon boil.

Then it hit me like a flash, What if academy went away instead?

Starscream growls as he sends a letter to you. He told you to stay home and not go to prom.

You asked Knockout about it but he reassured you that it was nothing. And that you still should come to Prom.

Those assholes are the key! They're keeping you away from me!

Starscream got ready for his plan. He went through his Sire's weapons. His Carrier was a Seeker. But his Sire is a wrecker.

They made you blind, messed up your mind But I can set you free!

Starscream continued working.

You left me and I fell apart, I punched the wall and cried—

Starscream had a lot of pictures of you around in his room. But his Carrier was weirded out about it. And forced him to take it down. So he moved it to the closet.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

Starscream continues to work on the contraption.

Then I found you changed my heart and set loose all that truthful shit inside! And so I built a bomb

Starscream finished the bomb and it was time to go to the prom. He walked up to the academy holding the bomb in his bag disguised as a gift bag.

Tonight our school is Vietnam! Let's guarantee they'll never see their senior prom!

Starscream noticed Knockout with you, he was hugging you. Starscream narrowed his optics.

I was meant to be yours! We were meant to be one!

Starscream sets the Bomb down and looked around to see if anyone was watching. Then he slowly decided to detonate the bomb.

Don't give up on me now! Finish what we've begun!

He knew this would get him in trouble. But this is a huge price he's willing to pay, to have you to himself. So nobody could take YOU for themselves.

I was meant to be yours!

Starscream walked away from the bomb and someone screamed indicating they noticed the bomb. He smiled knowing that the bomb will be going off soon so there's nothing to do about it.

So when the high school gym goes boom with everyone inside— Pchw! Pchw! Pchw!

He continues to walk away. Eventually stopping besides you which scared you.

"Hello (Y/n). We need to go." Starscream said.

"What do you mean?! I want to stay here." You said.

Starscream sighed.

"You have to, it's not safe!" Starscream said.

"Starscream leave. You're not cool and she doesn't want to hang out with you anymore." Knockout said.

In the rubble of their tomb We'll plant this note explaining why they died!

This angered Starscream and he grabbed your servo tightly before running with you to the exit.

We, the students of Iacon Academy Will die. Our burnt bodies may finally get through To you. Your society churns out slaves and blanks No thanks. Signed the Students of Iacon Academy 'Goodbye.'

The bomb went off as Starscream shielded you from the blast.

We'll watch the smoke poor out the doors. Bring marshmallows,

You watched in horror as everyone screamed. They were dying. Starscream didn't care.

We'll make s'mores! We can smile and cuddle while the fire roars!

Starscream hisses before taking you to his house. He opened the basement to put you. In, he opened the door and walked downstairs.

I was meant to be yours! We were meant to be one!

He locks you up in chains and covers your mouth with ducktape.

I can't make this alone! Finish what we've begun!

You watched as he smirks to you.

You were meant to be mine! I am all that you need!
