Loki slid his book shut with a dull, but resounding, thud. Minuscule particles of dust fled from its old pages and he rounded on his brother with his fingers steepled.

Thor possessed two qualities in unison that often made being his sibling infuriating. He was at once irritating and...very much not. His smile made Loki’s lips quirk upwards, and though he did not have any particular plans to spar previously, it had been several days since he had practiced.

“I suppose I could tear myself away for an hour or two.” He agreed, with only a slight note of hesitation in his voice. He stood on long legs and stretched the kinks from his neck and back,

“Swords today, brother? Any special reason, or simply for a challenge?”

that guy was huge and jason admittedly was a little intimidated but he didn’t put that kind of front on. though that being said he really did hope he wasn’t here for trouble, whether that was bar trouble or the other kind of trouble that involved the other half of his life. it wouldn’t have been the first time somebody had come looking for him.

but then he squinted and something clicked in the back of his mind. he’d seen this guy before but not because he was enemy or even a friend of some sort. but he knew he’d seen him somewhere.

“woah, hold up. you’re that guy? with the hammer?”

Steve couldn’t readily explain how he got to where he was, nor why. In fact, there were precious few answers for the soldier, as he stood on a floating island out in the cosmos, the grey and black rock just hovering above a sparkling green and blue nebula. Wind touched his face, and light from a distant sun shone just enough to illuminate his bleak surroundings. 

He wasn’t on Earth, in fact as far as he could tell – he wasn’t anywhere near Earth. Or any other planet, recognizable or otherwise. He was on an island in the middle of literally nowhere. Surrounded by space.

It was one hell of a view, Steve could appreciate that, but it wasn’t one he was supposed to be seeing.

And how was he not dead?

And since when had he been wearing his suit? Crisp dark blue with a white and red midriff. A silver star emblazoned on his chest.

Steve hadn’t worn it since the Avengers had fallen apart.

The bizarre world had little in the ways of obstructing views. What rocks there were, were limited to the border of the island – about the size of a parking lot. It almost looked like an arena, some sort of extradimensional battleground.  

And then Steve spotted someone familiar, a blonde beast of muscle and godly might. He hurried over to him, helping the Asgardian to his feet.

“Thor,” Rogers breathed a sigh of relief, a slight smile to his lips. “Please tell me you know where we are.”

The cold wrapped around him like a predatory blanket on this late night. The street light was all he required to continue reading with firm intrigue. Until now, out of all the books he’d perused, norse mythology wasn’t something he had surprisingly touched base with. Charlie knew nothing of the hammer wielding god associated with thunder, && lighting – or coming from a world beyond the earth’s stars – and he was happy to learn.  

However, Charlie was a magnet for bullying, && it was never painless. As the storm of late night showboats decided to mess with him, it felt like a stone had dropped into the pit of his stomach when they grabbed the hardcover out of his hands && ripped several pages out. In a heap of laughter, they chucked the book to the ground, && walked away without a single care. 

Slowly the youth lowered himself to the ground, gathering what he could while his anxiety gnawed at him. Why did such foolish things like this always happen to him? When Charlie felt a presence nearby, he bit his lower lip – it was probably one of those bullies again. Slumping his shoulders, he hoped they would just see reason, && leave him be. “Don’t you think you’ve done enough?”

i struggled with my muse for a couple months when i remade tony here but despite that i’ve had so many of you stick by me and wait it out. i couldn’t be more thankful and a follow forever is long overdue. thank you for roleplaying with me, sticking with me despite my sometimes slow responses and just being supportive and wonderful fellows to come online to when i’ve had a bad day (or good day).

[This blog hit 100 followers today! Have a crappy edit! In all seriousness though, thank you to everyone, you are all so amazing! I do have some special mentions though:

* @morzanssxn: My love, my precious, my name twin (kinda). We’ve carried our threads over from my old blog and I have loved watching Mur and Leah’s relationship bloom (kinda), it’s still just a seedling tbh. But still. I love them with all my heart, they’re an amazing writer and their dedication to the character is fantastic (even if his stubbornness annoys Leah sometimes). So basically i love them a lot okay? Okay. * @shallowxrobber: Ugh, the angst with Leah and Alan hurts my heart. But its so GOOD. This is another one that has carried on from my old blog and they so willingly put up with my slow replying and all that jazz. Alan is such an awesome character and the relationship between him and Leah is just precious. * @straniul: I don’t think you realise how much I love and appreciate this person. Leah and Adrian have this incredible familial bond that’s complicated and messy cause of Adrian’s problems but it’s just so perfect. Vamp fam for life! * @regiium: This one is fairly new but we’ve got some pretty great plans for them. Leah already looks at Hayden like her baby brother (cause, lets face it, he’s still just a baby vamp) and I cannot wait to see where this goes. * @swcrdiisms: I actually have no idea where this is going and I love it. They’re still kinda suspicious of each other despite both having good intentions which is a kinda new situation to me and it’s awesome. I really can’t wait to see these two really hash it out between themselves and have more open conversations.
