an  exasperated  look  is  on  the  captain’s  features.       the  intensity  of  his  blue  eyes  meets  the  similar  hues  of  the  Enterprise’s  heart.       clearly,       it’s  at  a  point  where  Jim’s  eyes  are  brighter  than  the  depleted  reflection  of  the  crystals’  power.       the  word  ‘Klingon’  involuntarily  flickers  his  gaze  onto  his  chief  engineer’s,       asking  without  words  whether  he  states  a  fact  or       SUGGESTS       a  crazy  alternative.

the  last  time  they  took  this  risk  was  for  Khan.       is  their  situation  about  to  become  as  desperate,       being  exposed  in  the  manner  they  are       ?       ❝          what  is       SOME       ?          ❞       if  only  the  Enterprise  mimicked  Klingon  technology       &       simply       CLOAKED.       it’s  an  upgrade  he’ll  have  to  ask  Scotty  about  later  when  they  are  not  in  deep  trouble     .  .  .       whenever  that  is.       ❝          we  both  know  we’re  not  supposed  to  be       HERE.          ❞

There is almost a feeling of GUILT that washes over her chest, but also a one of softness. A smile paints her graceful features at their words, a little humorous. It was inevitable they rested after all the exhaustion they have faced, a one she has witnessed herself. ❝ They have. None were displeased. ❞ She reassures, never being one to lie to them with trivial matters as this one. ❝ Are you alright, my lord? ❞ There is a subtle concern in her tone, staying beside them as they stand, arm ready to interfere should they lose balance.

legs crossed on the chair, liam finds the space quite easy to be relaxed in. the summers home in their adolescent years were hot and sticky, humidity making the conditions brutal. the space, a little too warm, with incense in the air, feels simply like a morning day. their fingers make work braiding the ends of their hair, hands growing otherwise restless, and their mind too aware of the way it feels against their skin and falls blocking their vision.

“for the most part. i think for a lot of people miracles are proof of the divine, and like for your people, the will of the divine.” liam’s not quite sure where they sit on the subject of the divine. they leave it there. “i think miracles are the improbable and the extraordinary things in life. sometimes we can explain it, it’s just that the odds were so fucking low, and the circumstances asking for sacrifices too fucking great that we just didn’t see the outcome as possible, or we didn’t see it at all.”

smile on their lips, “most of the miracles i’ve found are people, if that makes any sense at all.”

he descends,   falling on one knee so that he can look into her eyes without staring down at her.   he reaches to one of her tiny hands,   holding it in both of his to show her that he’s here.           ❝    what’s wrong,   Mandy    ?    ❞

She is trying to be mindful of when boundaries were overstepped or social cues missed, or anything when it came to humans. They, in particular, were the easiest to step on their toes without intending. ❝ It's organized-ish. ❞ The tryakhean offers, the ish tacked on as something she's heard said before.

It was to what she's gotten used to tidying everything up; this had been a conscious effort on her part. Grace and T'lann had liked the workspace shared to be organized in specific ways. Early on in the Academy that had been point of contention between the three of them, as Jaylah was the messiest of the two and finding the right amount of organized and ordered in the right way to satisfy everyone.
