You were a hunter. Your life basically revolved around that, and that also included your style. Something you always tried to maintain even with the clothing limitations that came with the job.

You rarely managed to dress in something bolder, different, or not so practical. That was why, when you had the chance, you took it—and god, it had been a while since you wore a mini skirt.

You had recently bought one at a street thrift store near one of the motels where you and the boys stayed on a hunt. And tonight, for the first time in ages, you were finally going to wear it. The three of you had planned to go out, blow off some steam, and celebrate a win against the never-ending sea of crap that was your lives. A few drinks, some good music, and a night where you didn’t have to worry about angels showing up and telling that you had to save the world, again.

But patience had never been your strong suit. The second you were dressed, long before it was time to leave, you were already walking around the bunker in your outfit—mini skirt, fitted top, the whole deal.

You weren’t expecting an audience. Not really. But the moment Dean walked into the kitchen, his usual confident stride faltered, and his mouth opened just slightly before he caught himself.

"Damn, sweetheart, is there a dress code change in the bunker I didn’t hear about?" His voice was teasing, casual. But his eyes? His eyes were hungry.

You smirked, turning just slightly to grab something from the table, knowing full well his gaze would follow the movement. "What? A girl can’t dress up every now and then?"

Dean scoffed, stepping closer, his fingers brushing along the hem of your skirt. "Yeah, but usually, dressing up doesn’t involve testing my damn self-control."

You bit your lip, enjoying the way his voice had dipped lower, the way his hands twitched like he wanted to touch more—do more—but was still holding himself back.

"You like it," you teased, tilting your head up to meet his gaze.

Dean let out a breath that sounded suspiciously close to a groan. "Oh, sweetheart, liking ain’t the problem. The problem is getting through tonight without punching some poor bastard for looking at you the way I do."

That was all the warning you got before his hands finally landed on your hips, gripping you tight as he pulled you against him. Your breath hitched, heart racing when you felt just how affected he really was.

"We should go," you murmured, though the words held no conviction.

Dean exhaled a slow, measured breath before dragging his lips along your jaw, stopping just at your ear. "Yeah. We should."

Neither of you moved.

His fingers curled against the bare skin of your thighs, his lips grazing just beneath your ear, and just like that, the last bit of restraint snapped. You barely had time to register the way he hoisted you onto the nearest surface before his mouth was on yours, all heat and urgency.

Dean's hands roamed, fingers digging into your thighs, pushing up the hem of your skirt as he pressed you further into the hard surface beneath you. His lips left a trail of heat down your neck, teeth grazing, teasing, before he crashed back into your mouth, kissing you like he had all the time in the world.

Your hands found their way into his hair, tugging just enough to draw a low, needy growl from deep in his chest. He responded by gripping your tights and pushing them apart, rolling your hips against his, making you gasp into his mouth.

"Tell me to stop," he murmured against your lips, though the way he was devouring you made it clear he was hoping you wouldn't.

"Not a chance," you whispered, breathless.

Dean let out a deep chuckle, hands slipping beneath your top, thumbs tracing slow circles against your bare skin. "Yeah, babydoll. That's what I thought."

At that moment, a distant voice echoed through the bunker. "Are you two coming or what?"

Neither of you moved.

You gasped for air, your chest rising and falling rapidly as you clutched at his clothes. "Dean… We should go now." you breathed out.

Dean grinned against your mouth. "Told you we weren’t making it out that door."

Sam was going to be waiting a long, long time.

As for me, right now To You I Belong is my focus. Seeing as it’ll be a while before we see reader’s pov, I’ll give you some of hers from chapter 16 which is where I’m at. That means more pregnancy feels 😘

Time wouldn’t go any quicker, no matter how many times you looked up at the clock above the kitchen table. Your phone was the same, only you’d placed it in the pocket of your dress so as not to look at it. Worked a charm. That constant weighted reminder over your bump.

There was no point focusing on Dean’s last text. He’d promised he’d call after he spoke with the sheriff, and he hadn’t. Though at least he’d informed you it was something.

Your, Okay, might not have been the best response, but hey, you could’ve sent an angry face or an eggplant.

He was sorry? More people were missing? He was still with the sheriff? Actually it read, Sorry, sweetheart. Gonna be longer with sheriff. More people missing. Call you as dion as we’re done, but you got the gist of it, and you supposed that was okay.

He was an experienced hunter who knew what he was doing. Wasn’t like he was working alone. Sam and Eileen were there too, and they’d all keep each other safe. You just had to believe it.

So you continued to chop your banana into fine slices. Nutritious for the pup. How firm you hit the wooden board below the blade was on account of how hungry you were, and not for anything more sinister involving Dean’s knot.

Ahhh - yup - Dean definitely shows his love through his actions on the daily - 💯 agree with you there! Love that he’s somewhat gloating about it, and also that it’s all in theme with the Love Hurts episode.

Valentine’s Day is only beneficial for singles because it’s a great way to hit on women at the bar. - not when you’ve got a girl buddy!

But he’s talking her to her favourite diner and picking out something meaningful with that mix tape, and it is a big romantic gesture because of it ❤️

"Valentine’s Day is a scam, sweetheart."

Dean had grumbled those exact words this morning—coffee in one hand, mouth full of pancake—looking wholly unimpressed by the pink and red decorations plastered around the diner where you’d stopped for breakfast.

"Hallmark holiday. Just a bunch of overpriced flowers and bad chocolate. What's the point? I show you that I love you every day; I don't need a special day for that," he snorted, continuing his speech. "Valentine's Day is only beneficial for singles because it's a great day to hit on women at the bar."

You’d rolled your eyes, laughing, because honestly? You knew better. You knew Dean Winchester—knew that he could act all tough and indifferent, but at the end of the day, he was all heart when it came to you. He literally did this every year, and by the end of the day, he always pulled off the most romantic or cute gesture to show that he still cared and was still there for you.

Which is how you found yourself here, sitting in a booth at your favorite diner, a basket of greasy fries between you, REO Speedwagon playing on the jukebox.

You narrow your eyes at the man across from you. “You sure you don’t do Valentine’s Day?”

Dean shrugs, all casual-like, grabbing a fry and popping it into his mouth. “What? Can’t we just enjoy a nice dinner together? Just you and me? You know how much I love a greasy meal,” he says with an exaggerated wink that tells you he's full of it.

You just nod but can't help but notice the small, wrapped package he's trying—and failing—to hide beneath his jacket on the seat.

You scoff, crossing your arms. “Uh-huh. So, you just happened to take me to my favorite diner, with my favorite fries, let me pick all the songs, and—” With a pointed finger, you direct his attention to the little pink-wrapped gift. “—get me a gift?”

“It’s not a gift!” he protests, a hint of fluster breaking through his cool demeanor. “It’s just… something I’ve wanted to give you for a while, and it was in..." He stumbles over his words. "In my pocket,” he finishes, his voice low.

Biting your lip, you pull the little package toward you and carefully unwrap it, the delicate paper crinkling slightly under your fingers. Inside is a mixtape—classic Dean Winchester. And when you turn it over, your heart does a little stupid flip at the handwritten label.

It's so simple yet so meaningful.

You glance up at him, your chest tightening. “Dean… you big softie,” you tease, a playful smile tugging at your lips.

He lets out a snorted laugh, looking almost embarrassed, bringing his beer to his lips in a futile attempt to hide his reaction. “It's not anything grand,” he admits, his voice a bit sheepish. “I just thought I’d give you something you’d appreciate. I know it’s not much—definitely not a big, romantic gesture.”

The earnestness in his tone makes your heart swell a little more, softening the edges of the moment.

Setting the tape down, you slide out of your seat, and before he can react, you slip into the booth next to him, pressing a kiss to his cheek.

“Shut up. It's perfect, Dean. Really. I love this—all of it.”

Dean huffs, but you can feel the way he relaxes under your touch, his arm immediately draping over your shoulders. “Damn it, sweetheart,” he murmurs, his lips brushing against your temple. “You’re gonna make me start actually likin’ this stupid holiday.”

You tilt your head up, brushing your lips against his. “Oh, you love it. You’re just too stubborn to admit it.”

His fingers tighten on your waist, and the playful glint in his eyes turns darker, more intent. “Maybe. But you know what part of the holiday I do like?”

You swallow as his lips graze your jaw, his voice dipping lower. “What’s that?”

Dean grins against your skin. “The part where I take you back to the motel and spend the whole damn night reminding you how much you mean to me.”

And suddenly, Valentine’s Day doesn’t seem like such a scam after all.
