World Building Week: Day 7
July 16th, the final day. The theme is Original. Was there a being in the Ghost Zone who appeared before any of the others? What about an idea of yours that has no roots in canon, yet you love it anyway? Do you have an OC you’re particularly fond of?
Today is the day for original ideas. If you want to be technical, you can claim that all your ideas fit that definition in some shape or form. Thus, today doubles as a free day. Enjoy. ^-^
As always, please use #Danny Phantom and #World Building Week to keep everything organized! I hope you’ve all enjoyed this event as much as I have! ^-^
To everyone who missed it, but still wanted to take part; no worries! I’m always tracking the tag. If you do it, I’ll see it. And I’m sure your ideas are wonderful! ^^
#World Building Week#Danny Phantom#wbw info#wbw16#Currently talking#never underestimate how interested I am in other people's headcanons#that's literally why this event exists. I want to hear your lore

Obsessions often have a way to do with the ghost who died, or what they left unfinished in life. Spectra was obsessed with her beauty, and killed herself in misery when she became old. Now she sucks the misery out of children in vain attempts to make her beautiful once more. Skulker’s body was nothing but a blob when his hunting gang turned on him. Now their skins hang in his lair, covered in painful looking scratches. The Box Ghost lost his family’s ashes in a warehouse, and died when the boxes collapsed. Now he spends eternity looking for them again.
And young Danny, who died too soon? Wanted to help the world in any way he can. Now he spends eternity atoning for the mistake he made, turing on that portal.

World Building Week: Day 6
July 15th presents my personal favourite theme; the Ancients!
According to Skulker in Reign Storm, there were a group of ancient ghosts who banded together to remove Pariah from power. Who are these ghosts? Where did they come from? Why didn’t they interfere during the events of Reign Storm? In the horrible future presented The Ultimate Enemy showed us, what was their stance on Dan? Were they planning on intervening to stop him, or had they already tried? What relation do the Ancients have to other powerful ghosts such as the Observants, Clockwork, or Vortex? And finally, how much does the Ghost Zone know about them? Are the shrouded in rumor, or are there beings who could write an embarrassing biography about their adventures?
Please use the tags #World Building Week and #Danny Phantom to keep everything organized! Tomorrow’s theme is Original!

World Building Week: Day 5
July 14th brings us to Communication. How do ghosts from different places and eras talk to each other? Is there a universal language all ghosts speak, and if so do they form knowing it? If not, how do they learn it? Are there certain rules of etiquette that must be followed while conversing in ghost speak, and is it possible for a human to learn them? And how does body language factor into it?
Alternatively, we have The Observants. We know so little about them; they have an oath to watch and never act, employ Clockwork, and have a High Council that judges criminals like Vortex. What are your theories about this elusive group? Does the entire Ghost Zone know about them, or only a privileged few? What do they do? Are they a neutral party, or something more sinister?
Be sure that you use the tags #World Building Week and #Danny Phantom to keep everything organized! Tomorrow’s theme is The Ancients!

World Building Week: Day 4
One of the most common theories in our lovely phandom is that every ghost has something at the center of their being that they must obey. July 13th’s prompt is Obsessions. What exactly is an obsession? Why do ghosts have them, and how do they develop? What happens if a ghost goes against their obsession? What do you think the characters in the show have as their obsessions?
Be sure that you use the tags #World Building Week and #Danny Phantom otherwise I won’t be able to see your submission! Tomorrow’s theme is Communication, with an alternate of The Observants!

Pariah Dark started out as a beloved king, and a lovely wife who held the Ring of Rage. When a sickness destroyed her core, Pariah took the ring. But two artifacts of a monarchy should not be together, and as a result Pariah was turned to madness.

World Building Week: Day 3
The theme for July 12th is Rebellion!
The Ancients rebelled against the overpowered Ghost King, Clockwork fought back against the Observant’s claims Danny needed to be destroyed in TUE, Sam protests the parts of the world she disagrees with, and Danny spends his time fighting against the ghosts attacking Amity Park. Today’s theme is about those times in the world you’ve created where someone looked at the circumstances they were presented with and refused to sit there and let it happen. For those of you who would like a more direct prompt, today’s alternative is Pariah Dark!
Make sure you use the tags #World Building Week and #Danny Phantom to keep everything organized! Tomorrow’s theme is Obsessions!

I was just wondering if there are any specific tags to use for our worldbuilding week posts, since I don't recall seeing any on the post you made about it. I was going to try to actually write something for tomorrow but I wasn't sure if there were tags we should use like there were during Phanniemay.
Yep! There are specific tags!
#World Building Week is the official tag and the one I track, as well as #Danny Phantom because, uh, it’s for Danny Phantom. ^^’ Yeah obvious reasons. If you don’t use those tags then I’m probably not going to see it, and that just sucks for everyone involved.
There’s also tags for that day’s theme and #wbw16 but those are mostly used for my own organization purposes. I don’t actually track them.
I can’t wait to see what you write! :D

World Building Week: Day 2
July 11th brings us to Graves! More than half the established cast of Danny Phantom is a ghost, and in most cases that means they’re dead. How, where, and when did they die? Why? Is there anything special about their gravesite? And what about those graves in the Ghost Zone from Prisoners of Love? Do they mean anything? Try to answer some of these questions and any others you can think of in your submission!
Please use the tags #World Building Week and #Danny Phantom to keep everything organized! Tomorrow’s theme is Rebellion, with an alternate of Pariah Dark!

I don’t get paid enough for this
Short fic, based off of my favourite dumb headcanon about Clockwork. It also works with today’s prompt of Sandbox Characters so hey, that’s a plus.
Enjoy.
***
"You spend far too much time staring at Timelines!" The Observant shouted, "You are not doing your job!"
Clockwork stopped fiddling with his staff and turned slowly, one eyebrow climbing up his forehead. "It is my job to stare at Timelines."
"Evidently you're doing it wrong," The other spoke much more calmly, "The world would not be in such a state of disarray if you simply did your job."
"Evidently," Clockwork said, "You don't understand what my job is."
That, of course, was the wrong thing to say. Clockwork quit paying attention as the Observants screamed at him. It wasn't that he meant to be rude, of course, it was just that he simply could not care less about what they had to say. He was well aware of his own shortcomings; he didn't need the Observants to lecture him about them.
Unfortunately, they picked up on how little he cared and screamed louder.
Clockwork rubbed the side of his head as a headache started to form. "I don't get paid enough for this," He said.
.-.
"You are not doing your job!"
"I'm sorry," Clockwork said, not remotely apologetic, "It's extremely difficult to focus on Timelines when you're constantly here."
"That is not an excuse!" One snapped.
Clockwork raised an eyebrow, "Does that mean I'm allowed to work while you yell at me now?"
"We do not yell!" They screamed.
Clockwork pulled back, "Yes, of course, what could have ever given me that impression…"
The Observants continued on with their lecture, and Clockwork continued on with not listening.
"I don't get paid enough for this," He said.
.-.
"I don't get-"
The phrase was halfway out of his mouth when the Observants abruptly teleported away.
Clockwork blinked twice, tossed his staff from hand to hand, and quickly floated out of the room.
He was halfway down the hall when the Observants reappeared, holding a large basket. "Will this be sufficient?" They said in sync, and dumped it onto the floor.
Clockwork moved back slightly, staring at what appeared to be a pile of various currencies. Very few stacks appeared to be from the same country, let alone the same era. He could see an American penny from the year 1897, a Canadian loonie from 2047, and a stack of German marks from 1932. Clockwork floated there, trying to take in the pile of money resting on his floor, and almost missed when the Observants repeated themselves.
"We asked, will this be sufficient?"
Clockwork stared at them. "I'm sorry, what?"
"You have been saying that you 'do not get paid enough' to deal with us for nearly a century now," One Observant said.
"We've grown tired of it," The other replied.
They spoke as one when they said, "So is this enough?"
Clockwork stared at them and picked his words carefully. "I have been working for you for over a thousand years. A few hundred thousand dollars is not enough." That was likely a safe reply. It was highly unlikely that the Observants actually had anymore money.
Two more Observants appeared behind them, each levitating perhaps five hundred baskets, and dumped billions of dollars onto the floor.
"Is this enough?" They asked again.
Clockwork stared at the mountain of currency that had overtaken his hallway. Where in the world had the Observants even managed to find all this?!
"Of course it's not," One of the new Observants said, her voice plain, "Payments must be given every, oh, two weeks was it? Yes, that sounds correct." She seemed smug when she turned towards Clockwork, "We'll be back in two weeks with the same amount." She and the other Observants teleported away. Clockwork was left staring at the hallway in front of him, and the billions dollars it contained.
This… might be difficult to explain.
But, apparently, he was paid enough to deal with it.
.-.
Anyone who knew Clockwork would be quick to say that he wasn't the social type.
His interactions with others were always planned days, if not weeks, ahead. He knew exactly what he would say, what position he would take, and the result his actions would produce. There were very few exceptions to this rule; the Observants, for one, namely because they were predictable. If they were there, he was doing something wrong. And according to the Observants, he was always doing something wrong. He did, however, have to watch his tongue around them; they took his sarcastic comments far too literally.
On the other side, where Clockwork preferred to have all his actions planned out completely, was one Danny Phantom.
Who, of course, had shown up unannounced and had just started talking.
Clockwork stared at the teen as he paced in the air, not quite sure what to do. He didn't feel like being social today. He'd tried calling Danny by his full name, which he strongly disliked, to see if that would get him to leave. Danny hadn't even flinched. Honestly, Clockwork was at a complete loss. He didn't want to be rude, but between his unfinished work load and the fact that he hadn't planned for this was making him extremely uncomfortable.
Danny was talking about college. He'd gotten in to a community college, but all potential funds were currently going to pay for his sister's Ivy League tuition. Thanks to his ghost hunting Danny couldn't hold down a job, and he refused to ask Vlad for help. Apparently, he was also convinced that student loans were 'literally the devil' and didn't know what else to do.
Clockwork teleported away the moment the idea hit him. He reappeared easily in the money room- as amusing as having it all in the hallway had been, it quickly became a hazard- and found what he was looking for. He reappeared less than a minute later to see Danny, still pacing in the air.
Clockwork cleared his throat to interrupt the hybrid, and Danny turned quickly. His eyes grew wide as he stared at the stack of bills Clockwork had handed him and stared ahead, obviously hoping for an explanation.
"For your college tuition," He said, and somehow, Danny's eyes grew wider.
"Clockwork," Danny said slowly, "There has to be, like, a couple hundred grand in here."
"Ah, my apologies. That won't be enough, will it?" He teleported once again, returning with two more stacks, "American tuition is priced impossibly high. Here. No, hold on." He teleported once again, and presented Danny with the money as well as a basket full of jewels. "This should keep you quite well off for the next several years."
Danny opened and closed his mouth several times in what could have been a fantastic fish impersonation. "Clockwork," He said slowly as he set the basket off to the side, "Are you rich?"
Clockwork, who had had to quickly use his powers to stop the basket from crashing to the ground, nearly missed the question. "Hmm, I suppose so. You didn't think I worked for the Observants without compensation, did you?"
He looked back at Danny and saw that the hybrid was now staring at him, one hand propped on a fist. "So, how much do you make? Like, per year?"
Clockwork raised an eyebrow.

World Building Week: Day 1
It’s tiiime! :D
Danny Phantom left a lot of unanswered questions during it’s run, that much is obvious. (Vlad’s deal with Fright Knight, anyone?) But with the loose threads we were left, the phandom has woven absolutely amazing answers of our own. World Building Week exists to exchange and enhance these lovely ideas!
July 10th starts off the event with the return of the prompt Sandbox Characters! As stated in a previous post, Sandbox Characters are characters with limited canon information and plenty of room for fanon interpretation. A perfect example of this would be Wes Weston. However, due to the nature of the show, you can easily claim that almost any character is a Sandbox Character! What are some of your headcanons about the character (or characters) you’ve chosen?
Please make sure you use the tags #World Building Week and #Danny Phantom to keep everything organized! Tomorrow’s theme is Graves! ^-^

World Building Week
It’s that time of year again!
Danny Phantom left quite a few unanswered questions during it’s run. From Amity Park’s exact location to what the ghosts truly are, there’s a lot of things which were left unsaid. However, from the bones the show provided us with, we have produced mountains of fan theories to explain what the show did not. World Building Week was created as a time to explain, exchange, and enhance these headcanons!
After the success of last year’s run (where we were mentioned by the tumblr staff!), World Building Week’s back for it’s second year! This a week long event, running from July 10-16, and the official tag is #World Building Week for those of you who would like to follow or block it.
As always, you are free to participate how you want. If you’re interested in seeing examples from last year, you can check out this tag. If these dates don’t work for you, feel free to complete the event at a later date. I’m always tracking the tag. ^^
Sunday, July 10 – Sandbox Characters Monday, July 11 – Graves Tuesday, July 12 – Rebellion / Pariah Dark Wednesday, July 13 – Obsessions Thursday, July 14 – Communication / The Observants Friday, July 15 – The Ancients Saturday, July 16 – Original
In order to prevent the confusion that was present last year, the phrase Sandbox Characters refers to characters with limited canon information and plenty of room for fanon interpretation.
If you have any questions about this event, my ask box is always open!
#Danny Phantom#Currently talking#World Building Week#wbw info#wbw16#FINALLY POSTED THIS WOOT WOOT#also I totally didn't misspell fanon yall shut up now
