2023 CHARACTER WRAPPED
Thanks for the tag @prodogg!
Here are my top characters this year.
1. N I played Pokemon White and White 2 early this year for the first time and was really invested by his story. I even broke out of my art dry spell back in spring by drawing him, but it's still a wip. To me, he symbolized moving on from old chapters of your life and starting new ones.
Tumblr media
2. Lusamine I also got into the Alola Pokemon games this year (though I didn't play them) and really liked her as a tragic villain. I think she deserves to heal from her past and make amends with her children.
Tumblr media
3. Elizabeth Swann I've always loved her character, but this summer I got back into writing my AU fic about her and really enjoyed delving into her character.
Tumblr media
4. Volo I played Pokemon Legends Arceus back in January this year, and Volo's one of my two favorite NPCs from the game. I was indifferent to him at first, but he ended up playing a very important role in the storyline, and his character captivated me.
Tumblr media
5. Ingo He's my other favorite NPC in PLA. I loved how he was in the same situation as the player character, being brought to the game's region from a different time. And it felt like he had a nice mentor-mentee relationship with my protag.
Tumblr media
6. Azula Azula will always make my list of top characters, though I wasn't very focused on ATLA this year. Still, it got revived when the new comic came out.
Tumblr media
Tagging (no pressure): @crookedmouth-mountainbones, @proxissima, @corvus-cucullatus, @debcroft13, @number1villainstan, @evarinaandlat, @wayward-thrawn, and anyone else who wants!

HSR Ideas
These ideas may or may not be written ever.
Avatar of Nanook AU - Elio thinks he can see the future? Well, Nanook can't be having that. So he crafts an Avatar, unleashing them in his image . Surely, one would understand that his Avatar would be nothing but destruction.
The Astral Express crew runs across MC - the receptacle-turned literal arm of Nanook, and forcibly adopts him. Bonus if there is shipping involved. Probably Caeheng since I am down bad for them.
Stellaron Hunter Protag - In the end, Elio decided against giving away such a valuable tool, and instead, told Kafka to bring it with her. Weeks later, They are given a mission - integrate with the Astral Express and destroy them. Possible dark AU, no real ideas yet.
In the Mirror - (might actually write) Inspired by the perfect Mirror in In Infinite Stars, Caelus and Dan Heng find themselves sharing... rather explicit dreams, after a wayward trip to the mirror again results in their shared divinity being linked.

Oooh, OP your poll has sparked many thoughts. I had to actually think about it for a second, and in the end, you've got a point, it all comes down to Team Rocket and Plasma 2.0. The thing about the other teams is that they're honestly, kind of soft. In the murder department that is. They may be organizations capable of summoning or capturing Legendaries, but what kind of battle are we looking at? A Pokemon battle between grunts? Team Rocket is getting sweeped, I'm sorry. I had more trouble fighting Team Aqua in my run. Raticate with Hyperfang is a monster though.
Judging by your comment, if it's an honest FIGHT between organizations? TR has been around longer. Aether Paradise, despite it's dark side, are still just employees at a conservation center. The UBs won't help them, the protag caught them all. Magma and Aqua nearly destroy the planet, but they won't be pulling a move like that against their rival gangs. They're the only group that was remorseful and tried to help the protag too. Cyrus is still lost in the distortion world, rip. Kudos on having admins of your own, but neither of them far as I recall (having never played Sinnoh games but I haven't heard about any crimes of theirs from fandom yet asides from bombing lakes) come close to the Rocket admins, they've got a Proton for Arceus's sake. He had a whole crew of grunts armed with knives deep in a cave chopping off Slowpoke tails to sell on the black market.
Team Plasma may have Ghetsis down for murder and some mean people that stuck around with him, and actually succeeded in terrorizing Unova and freezing the place over for a bit and trying to kill the protag, but his grunts would CRY if they faced Rocket. We've actually SEEN how mean Rocket grunts can get in anime specials, in killing Marowak, in their grunt sprites carrying whips and MAYBE tasers if I'm not mis-remembering another source. Oh you've got Gene splicing tech? So do they, they created a whole ass Legendary. They held Sliph scientists hostage for research, caged up countless Pokemon in labs and casinos, took over a Radio tower with more hostages, forced evolution tech to lead to rapid Magikarp evolution into angry Gyarados, imagine if they unleashed that onto the ocean? I've seen a fic where 100 of them sunk the S.S Anne in honestly that most wild Rocket scheme I've seen to date. Oh yeah they also took the S.S Anne hostage.
There are so many implications of other shit they had involvement in, in dark Kanto war AU theories. the DANGER of Giovanni hiding his identity for years while all doing all sorts of crime bureaucratic stuff in the background, that general shady jazz of making deals with crime bosses, messing up, and getting "vanished" ok so maybe too much fic influence goes into this, but LOOK Victreebel and Golbat are such murder Pokemon. Interpol and their literal SWAT Teams that were sent to find them in the Pokemon Generations Special? the super cameras they use catch images of their agents? feels like a movie damn, these guys are legit. what's Plasma, but a wayward religious cult aiming for dictatorship? where your grunts are wishywashy and half of them leave in the sequel, while Rocket grunts are loyal to their boss? you sweet talked citizens into releasing their pokemon? they lured gullible trainers in with nugget bridge, people down on their luck in the slums of society, bullied a whole town, disrespected a grave site, pushed people down the stairs, another hostage in Mr. Fuji, threatening hostage meeting with Silph boss before bombing the first floor and escape helicopter in Origins, had suspicious history with the "good guys" in Kanto's government and big names. stole so many things. god just. fucked up crime list continues. Archer just casually discussing selling Cubone skulls when they evolve, the danger of Petrel's impersonations, Proton's anger issues + being their cruelest and scariest member, THAT is who Giovanni has chosen as TR's first line of defense, y'all getting fucked up. Ariana plays dirty (as double battle mechanics didn't exist back then, ganging up on us until Lance physically pushes her away from us bc he is also down for violence) and is just as willing to be vicious because TR is a WAY OF LIFE unlike Admins in other gangs who just grouped together with their boss for a single Legendary Pokemon purpose and changing the world, TR was built on crime. "I may have been around during the day, but now I'm doing my real job." dare I ask? all the dialogue of not going easy on children, on showing how mean adults can be, like yeesh. and of course, last but not least, TEAM RAINBOW ROCKET, cause Gio really gonna make all y'all other Team bosses his b- anyways, I probably missed stuff cause the list is extensive but you're right OP, Gio's got a gun.
anon. I love you dfhjmk, ljhgfds. I can't even add to this you've said everything I'm saving this forever

Nightmares and Night Talks
In which Elio has a bad dream and a few bad feelings that go with it, Sneasels are light sleepers, and a certain Warden has some words of comfort.
~ ~ ~
This is for an AU from @waywardstation's askbox. The general idea is "more wormholes/distortions/rifts end up opening up in modern-day, and more kids come through! Ingo adopts all of them because he is Ingo" and the general tag for it is "PAPA INGO AU". I'm thinking about calling my version something else, one because I feel bad stealing someone else's AU name and two because everyone seems to be kinda going a little bit of their own direction with it?? I dunno. The names "Wayward Passengers" and "Wayward Protags" kinda popped into my brain so. Maybe?
Anyway enough rambling! Here's the fic! Can't really think of any content that needs a warning for this one so enjoy!!
Oh and since I've seen people do this, the word count is 1495!!
It's quiet.
Elio's footsteps echo on the floor, tap-tapping as he walks through what must be a wide-open room. It's harshly illuminated by blinding artificial lights, but he can't see through the thick fog that blankets the area. Every single sound seems to be a thousand times louder than normal. His breathing seems to fill the room, and his heartbeat is like a drum in his head.
It's cold, too; Elio shivers and holds his arms close to his body. Something tells him that this place, with its bright white lights and its unnatural fog and its metal floors, it isn't right. Something bad is going on. He doesn't know how he knows it, but there's a feeling that he has to stop it.
Something tells him that if he doesn't, it will be bad.
So he presses on, until he's inches away from a looming pillar. The fog is beginning to thin out. Upon further inspection, the pillar is made of glass, with some design inside of it. It vaguely resembles a pokemon…
Then he puts his hand to it, and it sticks for a second before he pulls it away, stinging cold. Ice? The fog continues to thin out, and Elio stares at the design, trying to figure out what exactly is in there. He squints hard at it, like it'll help that much more, like it'll… it'll…
Elio yanks back as he realizes that he's staring into the blank eyes of a Pikachu, lifeless and frozen in the pillar. His scream mingles with high laughter from somewhere in the fog, and the scene shifts and morphs to some kind of cavern, dark and dank with odd multicolored crystals and fungi sprouting from the walls and floors. Elio stumbles back as the cackling woman is… absorbed?? by a strange creature. Her laughter becomes burbled, her eyes vacant, and a girl next to him screams.
He should know them.
He needs to know them.
Why doesn't he know them??
Elio wakes with a start, flinging his blankets across the room. They land beside Calem with a soft thwap, but his roomate doesn't so much as stir. He sits there for a moment, panting and staring wide-eyed at absolutely nothing, before drawing his knees close to his chest and burying his face in his arms.
Those people… that girl and that woman, he knew them. There was a familiarity about them that dangled right in front of him, so tauntingly close but ultimately out of reach.
Elio hates these dreams. It isn't always the same faces, the same places, but it's always the same achingly familiar feeling coupled with a face he knows he should recognize, but… the details are fading even now, into a fuzzy blur of "I should know who they are" that makes everything inside twist up and hurt.
There's scrabbling at the door, and the handle jiggles a little. Elio sniffs, then wipes his face with his arm. He knows what this is, it's happened before. More times than he tries to let himself think of.
The scratching persists until Elio gets up to open the door, and he forces himself to smile for his visitor. It's a Sneasel, looking up at him with worried red eyes. She mewls, then carefully grabs him by the wrist and gently, so as to not accidentally poison him, guides him out of his room. He knows the route and could certainly get to where he's going on his own, but it feels nice to let someone else lead for a bit.
Sneasel leads him to the only other opened door, then points inside and chirps at him. Elio pats her on the head and whispers, "Thank you." She gives him a mrrp in response and snuggles into the touch. Not sure if the one resident of the room is awake, he opts to knock on the door frame a few times.
"Come in," says a sleepy-sounding voice from within, and Elio obliges, pushing the door more open to fit through. A lantern is lit, if dimly, and Sneasel unsurprisingly patters over to it. Elio is close behind, and kind eyes wait for both of them.
"Sorry to wake you, Ingo," he apologizes. Ingo shakes his head and pulls Sneasel into his lap.
"It's quite alright, I would not have woken up had Sneasel not alerted me. I'm happy to listen or help if I am able, was it bad dreams again?" When Elio nods, Ingo pats a spot on the bed next to him. Elio sits down, and Ingo has his arm around his shoulders for all of about five seconds before Elio starts to crack.
"I miss them," he says, leaning into the hug. He's not just talking about the girl and the woman–somehow, he doesn't feel as horrible about her–but the two boys he'd dreamed about too, the man in the white coat and the woman who talked about space and science. "I miss them and I don't even know them. I did, but I don't anymore, and it hurts, and they were so important to me, I know they were, but nothing's there! I…"
Elio hesitates for a moment. Tears roll down his face and Ingo has to stop Sneasel from trying to wipe them away. He pets the pokemon between the ears, takes a deep breath, and says, "I feel like a bad friend, because I don't remember anything about them."
Ingo pulls him in closer, and Elio sobs into his chest. They stay like that for a while, Elio crying and Ingo making soothing shushing sounds. Sneasel, not one to be left out, nuzzles right up to Elio's face. At some point, Ingo starts stroking his back in gentle, slow circles. It reminds Elio of his mother, how can he still remember her?, and he slowly calms down.
After a few minutes, he pulls away and sniffles, wiping his face with the back of his hand. The front of Ingo's undershirt is soaked with tears and snot, but he doesn't even seem to notice. Instead, his eyes are soft and trained on Elio. "You are not a bad friend, Elio," he says quietly. "The train you boarded was entirely out of your control, with a conductor who left you stranded and alone. You can't blame yourself for any memories you lost." When Elio doesn't look convinced, Ingo sighs. "Is Bren to blame for his loss of his entire identity?"
"What? No, of course not!" Elio stares at Ingo. How could he even ask that?
Ingo scratches Sneasel underneath the chin. "Bravo, exactly. Though you arrived in different conditions, you both took similar lines to get here, by no choice of your own. We all did. You aren't a bad friend, Elio, because you didn't choose to forget them."
Elio looks down at Sneasel and fiddles with her feather. "What if I did, though? I mean, I can't remember, what if there was a choice, and I made it and decided to forget them for… something, I don't know!"
"I don't even believe that to be a possibility," Ingo says simply.
"But what if–"
"Elio." Ingo's tone is equal parts stern and gentle. "You and all of the others are some of the most wonderful passengers I've had the honor of conducting. You are all extraordinary in many areas, and one that you all excel in is your compassion for people and pokemon. While you may have your mischievous moments, your goal is never to hurt anyone and everyone makes it to the station safely. You value the feelings and wellbeing of others greatly, and that is a quality you should pride yourselves on. So no, I don't believe that you, or any of the others, either, willingly chose to arrive at this destination."
For a moment, Elio just lets the words sit. They sort of ping around in his head like… he’s sure there’s a comparison he can make, something he knows or used to know, but it doesn’t come to him. Whatever it was, he has a feeling it was funny. Still, Elio doesn’t dwell on it. Instead, he relaxes into the hug Ingo draws him in and tries to focus on the now, on the good things. He’s in a village instead of wandering the wilds, and he has Ingo and the others. They’re family, or as close to one as any of them have here, and they’re here for each other when someone’s sad or scared, like now. He’s got a Sneasel trying to butt into the hug.
He’s okay.
He’s not a bad friend.
And some day, he and everyone else will go home, to where they belong.
Eventually, they end up pulling out one of the spare bedrolls that Ingo keeps in his room for situations like these. And in the morning, Ingo’s not surprised at all to see that same bedroll empty and hear a neighbor shriek in surprise. The shriek is followed by laughter, and Ingo doesn’t need to strain to hear the slap of a high-five and a pair of kids giggling.

Yes, hi. The dad Ingo Au is adorable, and a brilliant idea. I need more dad Ingo in my life. Also, you got any headcannons or anything like that attached to the idea? I'd love to hear how you came up with the idea, and what life in Hisui is like for the little family that fell from the rift.
ANON YOU HAVE NO FUCKING IDEA WHO MUCH IVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT THIS AU,,, I HAVE SO MANY IDEAS,,,,
Okay so essentially Ingo finds a very lost Akari in Gear station and tries to take her back to her mom, but haha distortion happens and they get sent to hisui.
But they both have memory loss (Akari less so bc kids are somehow WAY more resilient), and Akari clings to Ingo bc parental figure and calls him Papa
Ingo, of course, just thinks Akari is his daughter and is very protective over her in this new land. However they're not totally defenseless; Chandelure comes along bc I said so. Sneasler finds them and takes them to the clan, and Ingo is made warden FORCIBLY by Sneasler, and he and Akari join the pearl clan.
The others try to separate the two, bc the highlands are dangerous, but Ingo goes almost feral over potentially losing his kid and Chandelure is very on edge as well. Sneasler just adopts the kid and ingo and Akari now live in the sneasler den. This also means that Akari first pokemon is a hisuian sneasel, and a Litwick (chandelure materialized a fucking baby for her trainer's child. Girlboss)
So Akari lives in the highlands with Ingo, and they often visit Wayward cave together. And Akari has a mix of plot armor and Disney princess energy because Pokemon don't really attack her bc she's so small. They can't because every pokemon can sense that she is literally a child- a literal BABY.
As such, Akari somehow befriends Wayward xave's very own alpha crobat, and his name is Grapes. She also (somehow) befriends an alpha gabite in the same cave his name is Nito.
Plus with her Litwick, Wicker, Akari has a very overprotective team (which fits in with her family, Chandelure and Ingo are INCREDIBLY overprotective)
And bc of the highlands, Akari meets Melli. Normally, people write that Melli hates protag blah blah blah
Not my au my manz
Akari somehow softs Melli up with Cuteness™️ and sees him as a older brother (often calling him Melmel). This leads to Melli essentially pulling the office "I've only known Akari for 1 day" meme and honestly??? On point.
Also, domestic moments at home are Akari trying to help her dad cook, and decorate the cave they live in (it's connected to Sneasler's den so it's fine) with custom tinkets. They even managed to build a stone oven, and Akari helps her dad cook every morning.
She also knows how to bake, as her mother had taught her how to make bread from scratch, so Akari often tries to make sure her father has some food to take with him.
She maybe 6 but she had standards dammit, and eating plain old berries for every meal just ain't it.
As such she bakes a loaf or two of bread, and one is split between the two and the second is taken home. Ingo uses berries to make jam, with a bit of trial and error, so the two eat jam, toast and eggs for breakfast then probably have a stew for dinner.
Now the funniest thing is Ingo,,, Ingo is tall. And Akari? Akari comes to like,,, just above his knees. (She doesn't grow higher than like his chest or shoulders as a teen/adult.)
(Shes very salty about her height, don't mention it.)
Family training and battle sessions??? Family training and battle sessions.
Chandelure likes to hum, and despite its haunting melody, it's it's easiest way for the father-daughter duo to get to sleep.
Anyway there's my headcanons :) lemme know if yall want more

Viral Pokerus au outline
Events take place just after the rift was closed so Lucas (protag) hasn’t collected the rest of the plates yet. Also Jubilife Village is planning a giant festival in celebration of getting rid of the rift. Everybody is invited!
Meanwhile, a Gligar with normal Pokerus who lives around the top of Mount Coronet is dared by its Gligar friends to go into a space time distortion and stay in it the whole time. Hanging out in the distortion causes it’s Pokerus to mutate into the special strain we see in this au.
This highly infectious strain starts to quickly spread around the top of the mountain. Ingo happens to leave to visit the Pearl Clan settlement, so he misses getting infected for now. Melli, however, has gotten infected by his Golbat (which often hangs out with Gligars).
Ingo gets to the Pearl Clan settlement. The Galaxy Team has sent letters to both of the clans inviting them to a festival being held in a couple of days. Irida was about to send a bird to deliver a message to Ingo about the party but since he’s here she invites him to join the rest of the clan that’s going to the party in walking down there together. Ingo takes her up on the offer, he was already going to stay for a few days. He hopes that Lady Sneasler isn’t worried about his absence.
Meanwhile, Melli get a letter from Adamen inviting him, he has a bit of a cold, but he intends to go. He tells Lord Electrode where he’s going, and Lord Electrode in turn, tells Lady Sneasler about where their humans are going.
It’s time for Diamond Clan to start heading to the party together, the members who are going anyway. What they don’t know is that by this time Pokerus has spread through almost all of the Mount Coronet population and is starting to spread in the Mirelands, a few of them have recently been infected.
The festival starts, many people from all groups are there. It’s only the first day, however, Melli feels like garbage from his “cold” so he leaves early to go back home. He may not that been there for long, but he has already infected a few people and some Pokemon. When he’s travelling through Wayward Cave, he’s really starting to get a nasty fever and the Alpha Crobat won’t let him leave. Lord Electrode is none the wiser at the fact his warden isn’t here, he’s at the party after all, isn’t he?
Throughout the festival days the other infected Diamond Clan members also infect other people and Pokemon at the party, not that they know that. But several of them are starting to feel a bit off. It’s realized that a cold seems to be going around the festival so it ends a couple of days earlier than intended. Diamond Clan and Pearl Clan start heading home.
Pearl Clan already starts quarantining as they walk back. Almost everyone in the Diamond Clan who went has been infected by now, they also try to quarantine but with much less affect as some of them need some help traveling from the really bad fever starting. Diamond Clan gets back only to realize many people still at the settlement are already sick as well. Adamen is getting really concerned about the high fevers. It’s hard to quarantine when so many people are sick. By now Pokerus has spread throughout all of the Mirelands and is starting to spread a bunch in the fieldlands.
Ingo has gotten home. He visits Lady Sneasler and her kits first, he doesn’t know but he just caught Pokerus from one of her kids. He tells Lady Sneasler that he’s going to go visit Melli real quick to see how he’s doing, after all he left only on the 1st day of the festival due to illness. Sneasler is very concerned, she assumed that Melli would have just gotten back from the party since he hasn’t come back. Sneasler goes with Ingo to Electrode, Ingo is confused, where’s Melli? He’s able to parse from Sneasler and Electrode that Melli hasn’t come back. Ingo is super worried.
Ingo worriers about how sick Melli may have, what if he collapsed somewhere? Ingo, Ingo’s Pokemon, Snesaler, Sneasler’s kits, and Electrode’s kids, all go searching throughout the mountain for him. If Ingo can’t find him soon he plan to go to the Diamond settlement either hoping Melli went there instead, or to get extra help looking for Melli. As he travels through the cave a Zubat starts clinging to him. It insists on following him outside even though it’s daytime. Of course, this bat is actually Melli. Melli writes his name in the dirt, brief moment of confusion where Ingo’s like “oh do you know where Melli is?” Melli: “I am him you idiot!” Ingo eventually gets the message. The search is called off. Everyone is extremely confused about how Melli turned into a bat. Ingo decides to take him to the Galaxy Team to see if they have any idea for what to do.
Meanwhile, Pearl Clan get back home. They have already become aware of how serious this illness is. It’s kind of mean, but for everyone’s safety those who are sick are staying in a temporary camp set up a bit away from the main camp. A few people have started gaining Pokemon traits, maybe something that’s not too obvious though.
Ingo gets to the Galaxy Team camp with Zubat!Melli only to find the whole place in chaos. By now, many people are starting to turn into Pokemon. Ingo talks to Laventon (who has started to get a “cold” himself) about Melli situation. Laventon realizes that this sickness is fully turning people into Pokemon and he dubs it “Pokerus”. He’s happy to know that Melli is still himself, just in the form of a Zubat. This calms the chaos down a bit but only a bit. Jubilife starts to get very serious about quarantining. Lucas and Ingo decided to go check on the clans.
Ingo gets to Diamond Clan with Melli only to find it’s in a worse state than Jubilife. They tell the people there about the situation. Melli decides to fly off home and Ingo heads back to Jubilife running into Lucas along the way. Lucas visited Pearl Clan, who were doing pretty well considering the situation. Ingo tells him about Diamond Clan. Ingo heads back home, Lucas continues to Jubilife.
Ingo gets back home, he already knows he’s sick. He’s been feeling worse for wear the last couple of days. Lady Sneasler and her kits prepare for making Ingo as comfortable as possible. Pretty soon he’s hit with the nasty fever that signals the transformation (he’s gonna turn into a Sneasel.)
Lucas is also starting to fall ill, but he ignores it to try to help collect as much supplies for Jubilife as possible. Many people are out of commission, including the Gingko Guild, so Jubilife is having supply issues. The divide between humans and Pokemon has gotton really bad as people are blaming Pokemon for the illness, and avoiding them to avoid getting sick. Part of the town was chosen for all the sick people to stay as part of quarantine measures. If anyone shows any signs of getting a cold they have to stay there. Pesselle decided to stay over there as well to take care of the sick, she eventually falls ill as well. Lucas is running himself ragged, he’s still traumatized from the exile, and feels the need prove himself useful.
The healthy people of the Diamond Clan have moved to set up a temporary camp out in the Coastlands because of how rampant the virus is at the settlement. This spot isn’t all the safe either though as Pokerus has been starting to spread there too. Pearl Clan was doing pretty well at first but… the Zoroarks found out that the cold going around turns humans into Pokemon so they start getting themselves purposely sick and basically doing biological warfare on the Pearl Clan by trying to sneeze and stuff all around the camp.
People who have fully turned will still be a bit sick afterwards but even after fully recovering they aren’t trusted by those still human. There’s a lot of unknowns with how the illness works. The quarantine is still being held up for anybody who has gotton sick no matter how much time has passed. The spread of Pokerus has slowed down greatly but the threat of society falling apart is still very much there.
Lucas has transformed into a Rowlett and he’s still trying to collect supplies, the humans would not take what he has gathered anymore though but it does help those who are still sick or falling sick. Lucas figures there’s something more he has got to do and that’s when he runs into Volo again. Volo has probably transformed by now and he reminds Lucas oh his quest to get the rest of the plates because he thinks they might be key to contacting Arceus. Lucas is like, “Arceus! That’s it! They can fix this situation!”
Cue the whole gathering plates plot. Lucas is having a difficult time throwing things because of the different body, and personally gets into some Pokemon battles. He eventually evolves along the way into Decidueye. Along the journey he gets help from various Pokemon and Human-turned-Pokemon but no humans except for Cognita, who has managed somehow not getting Pokerus.
The whole Volo fight thing happens but it also involves the two of them personally fighting each other. When Volo calls upon Giratina it successfully attacks Lucas… with a ghost move… on a fighting type, it does nothing lol. Kinda takes the wind from Volo’s sails. Lucas wins, Giratina flys off.
Lucas is reminded he still has some Pokemon to seek out so he does that as fast as possible. Laventon has still been working on the Pokedex with him. He eventually finds and catches ‘em all and calls upon Arceus. Arceus gives him his human form back but he can switch between forms and the Arceus boss battle happens, Lucas makes use of having both forms. Arceus then wants to battle him 1 on 1 as a Pokemon, he wins.
Turns out Arceus wasn’t really paying attention and didn’t know about the Pokerus situation. Arceus is like “Oh damn, that’s not good” So Arceus makes it so that everybody who has transformed can switch between forms at will, like what it did to Lucas. He also wipes this strain of Pokerus from existence.
Things mostly return to normal, and human-Pokemon relations have gotton much better because many people are now kinda Pokemon or can translate. Lucas and Ingo are sent back home,
 The End.

My brain has latched on to this au with Rosie being from Hisui and Ingo adopting her while he's stuck there, so here are just some thoughts I've been having about it.
Rosie lost her parents (abandoned? they died? who knows) and is found by Ingo in the Coronet Highlands. He takes her to his camp (aka Lady Sneasler's den) so she can eat and get some sleep, then he takes her to the Pearl Clan settlement.
At the settlement, he asks Irida for advice on what they should do, and after some talking, Rosie decides she wants to stay with Ingo and he agrees to adopt her.
The Pearl Clan is basically a big extended family for her. Lian loves getting to act like an older brother to Rosie. Palina is a great babysitter and Rosie absolutely adores her (and of course she loves Iscan too). Irida is super nice and she teaches Rosie all about the Pearl Clan's traditions. Gaeric gives great piggyback rides and he's a great help for tiring Rosie out before bed. Calaba is such a sweet, grandmotherly woman and Rosie loves getting to help her out with little chores.
Rosie loves pulling pranks on Melli whenever Ingo isn't looking. He makes her dad's job harder by extinguishing the torches in Wayward Cave all the time, so she'll just repay the favor. He absolutely hates that he can be so easily tricked by a child and Adaman is just so tired of hearing about it. (Adaman does tell Ingo about the pranks, mainly to shut Melli up but also to avoid any further issues between the two clans. Rosie is grounded for this, but this doesn't stop her from messing with Melli altogether. She finds loopholes.)
Lady Sneasler absolutely adores Rosie and she views Rosie and her own kits as cousins. Ingo and Lady Sneasler catch Rosie napping with some Sneasels one day and they both have to keep from crying because holy shit their babies are napping together it's the cutest thing ever!!!
When Emmet eventually arrives in Hisui to bring Ingo home, he's understandably verrry shocked to find out that Ingo has a daughter. He's also verrrrrrry happy to be an uncle.
Leaving is a tricky choice. Hisui is where Rosie has grown up. What if she can't get used to life in the future? Obviously Ingo can't leave his daughter behind, but he also can't leave his brother and original home behind. There's also the fact that the Pearl Clan is part of Rosie's family too, so either way, someone is being separated from their home.
In the end, Ingo and Rosie go with Emmet. They're reminded by Emmet and the protag that they have access to legendaries (Emmet and Celebi, and the protag with Dialga and Palkia) that can bring them back to Hisui whenever they want to visit, so it all works out.
Getting used to city life is definitely rough for both Ingo and Rosie at first. They both get earplugs to block out the city noise. Emmet has to help in teaching Rosie (and occasionally re-teaching Ingo) different future technologies. Luckily, Rosie is young and a fast learner. It's mainly just the noise and the overcrowded city that bother her. Ingo makes sure to never take her out in public during rush hours as long as he can help it.
I just really love Ingo and Rosie so much

PRE-TEA TEA OKAY?1!! So idk how. Ascensions are.
Is everyone allowed to see them?? Is it only a select group of superiors; only Eternity Project scientists + the High Priest and the Father???
Is violent death normalized because it’s technically not death, it’s your soul ascending??
Everything in my AU literally relies on that answer.
——————————————————————
I feel like it used to be normalized. But as of 2002, a good portion of Moon Children have never seen an ascension like ever. Because up until Benji there hadn’t been one since the Father’s in 1998. So literally all the youngsters had to go off of what’s left of the grownups would tell them (and I feel like they would fail to mention the HORRIFIC WAYS THAT YOU ACTUALLY ASCEND WITH but whatever..). Anyway I feel like the new 2002 generation is not allowed to see ascensions to keep up that illusion of a painless ascension. So they don’t freak out y’know
———————————————————————
Now a pivotal part of my AU plot is Rosa dearest <3
Because she deserves the protag role THAT WAS STOLEN FROM HER SMH 🙄🙄🙄
She can see the future right. And that is like A SUPER VALUABLE SKILL. Especially to High Priests and Eternity Project scientists who kinda wanna know if the ascensions they preform will be successful YKNOW
But the thing is. The only way to actually know if an ascension was a success is if the Wayward Point website is updated. Which is information only the Eternity Project scientists have access to. Cuz if the Moon Children saw it they would see like THE BILLIONS OF FAILED ASCENSIONS RIGHT THERE ON THE COMPUTER AND BE LIKE “….so..did those people actually just…die?” AND THEY WOULD FREAK OUT.
So if they theoretically taught Rosa about the Wayward Point when she was young, they could possibly avoid her freaking out because it would be normalized to her. Now Rosa, a 6-12 year old, who would be seeing the actual process of ascension (aka blood guts and death) in her vision, would either:
a) Not understand what she saw in her vision and casually tell an adult, who would then be like “..what the fuck.” And everyone would freak out
OR
b) She understands what she saw, becomes traumatized, tells and adult and then they’re BOTH like “..what the fuck.” And everyone would freak out
———————————————————————
THERE ARE SOME FACTORS IN THIS EQUATION THAT ARE SORTA LOOSELY RELATED. IM NOT GOOD AT MATHEMAGICS BUT HERES THE TEA:
1. Rosa can’t have visions on command -> if she can’t have them on command her usefulness decreases
2. Rosa would have to know about the Wayward Point in order for her to actually be useful (there’s no point in her just seeing the person’s death) -> she would have to be sworn to secrecy and if this begun when she was a child, the childish naive nature would ensure she kept the secret. Or manipulation/threats that would do the trick
3. If she told people, what if no one believed her and just said she was crazy -> on one hand that wouldn’t be very likely since she’s probably been right about every other thing ever. but on the other hand it could be like Edipo Rey and people CHOOSE not to believe her and live in ignorance instead

i love my mental au where all my pokemon protags are the same person, wandering around with no regard to timelines, because it means that the champion of most of the world with pokemon leagues got yote into hisui and absolutely clocks Ingo---- not because they’re champion in unova, bc i never played b/w, but because i feel like Emmet and Ingo would have timed their 1 vacation of the year to barrel headfirst into a series of exhibition matches in galar bc 1:battle, and 2: new kinds of trains.
And i can only assume my protag got a 3am call from Leon while back in Hoenn like “those train guys from unova are going to come to the battle tower and enrolled in doubles for the exhibition. i’d pair with Raihan but he said something about not wanting to tangle with their fans online?? How soon can you get here?”
“Leon its 3am”
“I’ll get Sonia to make you curry?”
“Leon just because you can’t cook doesn’t mean i--”
“i’ll pay to get us matching outfits”
“.... fuck ok. i’ll book a plane in the morning and watch some battle footage on them on the flight. Er, is there clips on--”
“I already had Hop email his research to you.”
“Why Hop--”
“We both know why Hop.”
“Fair.”
Basically im just imagining that it was one hell of a battle when the twins inevitably got to them, and i am 90% sure the four of them end up hanging out after the event no matter how it went out of sheer “ok that was fun!!” on both sides. I’m imagining there is a level of ‘these are my friends, i kick their ass now and then” there in all directions.
So cut to hisui and they’re just like “INGO???”
“That is my name, yes. I wasn’t aware that my reputation was running a shift ahead. I’m.. Apologies, do we know one another?”
“Ingo.” They blink very slowly at him. “I have literally slept on your couch while your brother ate cereal at 3am.”
this evolves into “im going to figure out what the fuck is happening once i see what kamado’s fucking up to now” and ingo’s wondering why he doesn’t know this person irida insisted was kinda like him AND appearantly knows he has a brother?? Which is new info to him??
also love it because it lets me xena the timeline in such a way that i can pretend the whole world is just having a Whole Ordeal for a span of time, several timewarp things happen, and cynthia’s grandmother wakes up one day like “oh right” and hands her a box my protag entrusted to the town and cynthia has to trek to wayward cave and wake up giratina like “what did you do”

Rules: tag 9 people you want to know get to know better
I was tagged by @beesreadbooks - hee, i love this meme. Thank you for tagging me!
Top three ships:
Wee okay! Brienne x Jaime is the OTP of my heart atm ofc. I’ll otherwise choose two different ships than the last time I answered something like this:
Leslie Knope & Ben Wyatt from Parks & Rec. All their major moments ALWAYS make me cry.
Violet Waterfield x Sebastian Malheur from The Countess Conspiracy by Courtney Milan. I f/cking love that book. Childhood friends to lovers! Victorian lady doing science! The Shit Women Face taken Seriously! Unabashed adoration all around! Embracing sexual desire later in life! There’s a bit of a JB vibe, actually, in that the man protag is a hot piece of ass and the woman protag who doesn’t fit cultural beauty standards; they’ve been bffs for years and they’ve both been pining and don’t think they’re good enough for the other person/that the other person could ever see them as anything other than a friend; bickering to show affection; showing affection to showing affection; unconditional support of one another... Anyway I could go on forever about this book generally and also that lightbulb moment re JB I just had (lol) but I’ll stop. It was the first romance novel I read since I dabbled with them as a kiddo, and it basically single-handedly pulled me into the genre and lives in my soul. I’ve got a key quote stuck on my wall -- “burn it all, sweetheart” -- and I love it forever. (shoutout to @theopensea for reccing it all those years ago)
Lipstick or chapstick: Chapstick! I am v keen to get more into lipstick though. I rarely wear makeup, and when I do I tend to lean more towards doing something with my eyes, but I also have a lot of fun with the few lipsticks I do have.
Last song: that recording of Backstreet Boys singing I Want it That Way!
Last movie: uhh... so I’ve been trying to think of this for a while and I can’t... remember? I’ll say next movie! Probably Miss Fisher & the Crypt of Tears, but poss a rewatch of Tomb Raider (2018)
Reading: I finished Redshirts by John Scalzi last night. I... can’t decide if I liked it... The premise was fun though. I did also recently finish the first two books of Seanan McGuire’s Wayward Children series and very much enjoyed those! Fair warning that they are horror...? I’d say light horror, as I didn’t have to nope out though usually do when reading horror, but ymmv.
I also tend to read at least one short fic or chapter of a multi-chap fic each day. Currently, am keeping up to date with Deserted by gwen77 (WIP) which is so emotional and somehow also so quiet a fic, and am about to start They Make You Swear and Swear by @angelowl-fics. The two one-shots I’ve read in the last couple of days I’ve already recced on here (fic rec tag!) so will hype two others which I read this month: Let’s go our separate ways (But know that you’re flying home to me) by ImberReader which I thoroughly enjoyed which is a sci-fi take on JB including an overture which goes missed due to cultural misunderstanding, and Cruel Summer by theworldunseen which is an AU where Brienne and Jaime have summer jobs as lifeguards at a swanky country club (owned by Tywin, ofc): it’s v sexy and fun.
Three random things that make me happy:
Last summer I started up a wee garden on my balcony, and it is starting to come out of hibernation at last!
I’ve currently got a cat on my foot and that is always soothing and delightful.
Long baths at the perfect temperature with a LUSH bathbomb and a good podcast/playlist
Tagging: so I am a bit late to this party and I’m not sure who’s already played this one, so apologies if I’m double tapping you! But: @amuserobin @brienne @djeli-beybi @firesign23 @forbiddenfantasies1 @kulliare @wildlingoftarth aaaand anyone else who wants to play! consider yourself tagged <3

OP THIS IS SO GOOD!!!! the writing is so well done, and it’s perfectly bittersweet; the angst and comfort combo is great here!!
No worries about the AU, it’s not really mine haha just about every AU on my page is a collective community effort started by a particular anon! But you are 100% free to make it your own and do what you like with the idea, and I love the AU names you’re considering!
You have great writing skills! This was a treat to read, and I love that you wrote about Elio and Brendan in here! Very good protags!! I can’t wait to read your next piece of writing!! :)
