i walk in thru the cat door. shaking, sopping wet from the rain outside. i shakily hold up a watobu hc for you. tears in my eyes. dramatic screen fading to black

100 days pre-uu. wato enters uu and is put to work making escape rooms. she doesnt int much bc the people that solve said rooms are good at it. until she meets wemmbu. they talk and wato gets an odd, somewhat desperate attachment to wemmbu. so anytime they see wemmbu from that point onwards they kind of sit and stare at him and run to him when given the chance or headsup to do so ( sky civ. he kept STARING AT WEMMBU WHEN HE GOT THEREEEE )

now hear me out. once they get the peace. wemmbu asks wato why she attached onto him so quickly and wato opens up so they spend the rest of the night cuddling because comfort is awesome and i think wemmbu would physically comfort wato over what he did rather than verbally because hes bad at words.

something something "i won't leave you alone until you tell me to, i'll be on your time as long as you want." reassured through a tight hug and a kiss on the forehead

how strict are you to staying with western media? because there is a pretty interested sherlock holmes adaptation from japan called miss sherlock where she and watson (wato-san) are both women. there is also inspector koo (korean) where they are also two women; one former detective now insurance investigator (I think?) and the other a serial killer who has a fascination with her.

oughhgg i meant to watch miss sherlock literally since before it even came out which. was so god damn long ago i hate time. but i didn't get around to it back then and then the main actor well. yknow💔 and ever since her death i cant even really think about her or the show without getting really really sad so i dont think i'll ever be able to watch it☹️ the entire situation is just so horrible i feel so bad for everyone involved

wemmbu just appearing in wato's house sound so funny actually

imagine going home after collecting ingredients for your shop and ending up finding a massive purple harpy in your living room and the little guy he brought with him (egg)

and you can't even kick him out bcs he just keeps coming back?? for some reason?? at least he helps you find the more harder to find ingredients, and he helps you drive off the more difficult customers and he can be pretty charming you guess

and egg is good company and he can make really good meals (or at least when he doesn't accidentally start a fire in the kitchen)

eggbu just crashing into wato's house(which is also his shop) is so funny to me lmao.

they kind of just start hanging out there and at first wato is like what the fuck?? why are there a harpy and just some random guy? are they buying?? no???

but then he kind of gets used to their company slowly. and ohhhhg i really like the thought of wato and egg kind of bonding too. they'd probably talk about stuff while wemmbu is out being a menace or getting the ingredients wato asked for.

thinking back to the parrot finding out that ken's a wanted criminal and wifies chases after him again

i think when wifies finds parrot, i think he'd be wrapped up in wemmbu's arms slumped over, i don't think that wifies could even see parrot's expression, even if he could i don't think he has it in him to look at parrot's hurt face that he's partially responsible for

when he tries to go near them, to try to at least explain things to parrot, wemmbu would just glare at him, a silent threat that he'd at the very least get a nasty gash on his face before he's any way allowed to go near parrot, he knew about ken's secret, he didn't even tell parrot about ken, or advised ken to possibly tell him, wemmbu wasn't going to let him anywhere near his flock

it takes parrot's slightest movement for wemmbu to take his attention away from wifies to check up on parrot. As parrot turns his head to look at wifies, all wifies could feel is the guilt he has from seeing parrot's conflicted and pained look, before could turn away, thinking that he might not be wanted there, parrot extends a wing to him, a silent olive branch, wifies takes it and sits close to them, not as close as either of them wanted, but as close as parrot's comfort

after the awkward silence goes on for what felt like hours, parrot asks wifies why would ken hide this from him? did he not trust him enough?

i don't think wifies would know how to answer that, he thinks that there's a lot of reason why ken wouldn't tell parrot, may that be because she was ashamed about it, didn't want parrot to think less of her, or maybe she doesn't trust him, wifies isn't entirely sure what it is

so i think the only thing wifies says that he doesn't know why, that the only person who knows is ken, it wasn't the answer that parrot wanted, he didn't know what kind of answer he wanted really, so he'll accept this one for now

so the three of them just sit there for a while before wemmbu decides that it was time to go back to wato's place, the problems weren't fixed yet but wifies is trying to make sure that none of them fall apart

i totally agree with everything, btw. the issue is definitely still there, and parrot is still upset, but he's at least willing to give both ken and wifies another chance. mostly give ken a chance to actually explain everything, because it was still mostly on her.

yes, wifies also knew and didn't tell him, but it was still on ken to actually tell what happened, because he's the one who's apparently a wanted criminal, so it was his story to tell.

it will still be mostly tense, but i think they'll work it out eventually.

But I like to think it takes a while for wemmbu to allow wato to preen his wings, it already took a good few weeks for egg to be allowed get even near them without wemmbu noticing

But when it happens, that they are finally allowed to preen them i think it'll be quite nice

Like, it'd be a nice night where wemmbu is laying down on their bed and him and egg guide wato on how to preen his wings, it takes a few mistakes for wato to get the hang of it, and I like to think that wemmbu falls asleep in the middle of it

going back to ken's a wanted criminal thing

when they arrive back at wato's house, i think ken would try to come up to them, relieved and happy that they were back but would stop at parrot shrinking in on himself, after a few seconds of tensity, wemmbu would drag away from all of them and make a makeshift nest for the both of them, it's been a while since the both of them huddled in one

ken, still feeling guilty over hurting parrot, is slightly reassured by wifies saying that explaining things to parrot might help a little, it won't fix things, but it might start to mend their fractured trust, still feeling awful about it, ken heads to bed early in his room

i like to think that even with all the unfortunate things that have happened, this is when wifies and egg started bonding, with wato pouring the three of them tea and all of them talking to each other until midnight, talking about all sorts of things, things wifies already knew and things he only learned then, he was especially in egg's previous life in the zam empire, egg noticing how invested wifies is in their conversation and enjoying wifies's presence in general, asks wifies if he wanted to exchange letters with him, wifies accepts the offer with no hesitation

the next day would start off a bit tense, even with eggbu's chatter in the background, i think after breakfast ken would try to slowly try to approach parrot and before wemmbu could stop them, parrot stops him first and goes with ken to the backyard to hear them out

ken would try to explain that there were a couple of reasons why they didn't tell him, none of it was because they didn't trust him, one part of it was because they didn't want to scare him off that the both of them knew that he was already anxious around them for being a catfolk and they didn't want to add on to that worry, another part of it was because it was hard to talk about it in the first place, to pass out and wake up finding out that a part of their village was burned down because of them was something that they haven't fully processed, even now, another part was because there was never a good time to bring it up and they were so sorry-

(side note: i had a brain fart about this, but i wanted to put it in somewhere that the omz mask and wifies's creation were related somehow, i'm not sure how yet but it is)

parrot gently lays his forehead over theirs as an attempt at quieting them down for a second, it works and it takes a few more seconds for parrot to reply with the fact that while he is still hurt by ken's actions and he might not fully understand why they didn't tell him sooner, he does forgive them, at least somewhat forgives them, and that he's not gonna leave them and wifies over this and that they're gonna be ok, hopefully, his trust in them is still a bit strained, but he takes another chance with them

(maybe, late at night, when ken, parrot, and wifies are all huddled up with each other, wifies would whisper to parrot that he's saying this so parrot won't get blindsided and also because he trusts him, but he also has a secret that parrot doesn't know, i think parrot would reply with a small nudge at his head as a form of appreciation, he would like to know what it is, but right now he's grateful to not have any surprise revelations right now)

OUVHHHH i love this so much ☹️☹️ justice duo nesting together... i need that. wemmbu making the a nest from whatever he can find, and pulling parrot in with him, basically curling himself up around parrot, covering him up with his wings and all... parrot chirping and softly bonking their heads together as a sign of gratitude... im soft for them in this au, don't talk to me. /silly

also love the idea of the mask and wifies creation was somehow connected. that's very interesting. i wonder if ken knows about that. (assuming that's the secret wifies told parrot about)

also, i think eggfies sending each other letters about mundane things is really cute actually, i can kinda imagine it being like :

Egg ; i burned a part of the kitchen again and instead of glaring at me with her fierce judgement, wato just sighed, kissed me, and helped me clean it up

Egg : have i ever told you about the time where wemmbu got caught in a spider's nest, it was really funny

I SAID THAT TOO😭😭!!! Hate Parrot’s writing it’s so painful, Wdym he always finds the most devastating ways to foreshadow things. Need his character to crash out at the Director, parrot was only able to accept Wifies’s death because the mafia was defeated, and Wifies wish to bring people hope came true but this new villain? Had zero reason to kill Wifies, sooooo zero closure for Parrot AS ALWAYS😭

Like I’m saying that Parrot never gets closure for anything, he never gets to take down the people who hurt him. Like spoke, clown, red, ash all were destroyed by other people while Spoke gets closure against Ash and Wemmbu against Zam.

I really hope that the Director killing Wifies was directly to hurt Parrot I need villains that just want to watch the main character break
