I finally saw TSOW (it only came out recently in my country) and I read some of your posts. I was wondering if you think that Elisa has always been some kind of waterhuman creaturefishything and that her scars have always been gills? Or rather that the creature used his powers to turn her scars into gills but she's... still human? Like... he just saw an opportunity in those scars and took it? lol

Oh no I’m quite positive those have always been gills. When I first saw them I was like oh worm gills? Someone pointed out (cannot remember who I’m sorry) that the Asset has both lungs for air and fish breathing accessories (I don’t know anything about how fish breathe underwater I’m sorry I failed biology I’m SORRY) so I think it’s possible she has that too. I know her backstory is extremely vague and she was just “found by the river” but hey, who is to say she wasn’t found first by a certain benevolent river god who decided to spare her life by giving her gills so she wouldn’t drown? And then later they found their way back to each other? OR, Elisa is some subset of river god species, maybe dating back to when there were more river gods than our lonely bathtub dweller and her ancestors had the same sort of fun she is?

However, I do like your idea that he did that for her. I’m not sure how far the extent of his powers are, and to say you are wrong because he couldn’t possibly craft gills out of fuck all nowhere would completely disprove one of my theories as well, so I guess it’s up to whatever we want to believe.
