Xena really is the best show. Nowhere in the history of television can you experience an episode filled with the complexities of a character dealing with the overwhelming grief of losing her lover and sacrificing a chance to find closure in order to help those she hurt in the past... while also witnessing a bunch of people doing drugs, an intensely filmed staring contest, and a poorly done job of a woman's head photoshopped onto a spider's body. Perfection

oh hey does anyone have a handy guide of Episodes of Hercules that are Directly Related to Xena episodes? bcs i've noticed a couple of (particularly Callisto-related) episodes that seem to have happened Elsewhere and me, a viewer or just Xena: Warrior Princess suddenly being presented with "and hey, by the way, Callisto is immortal now!" and being rightly a little bit confused about that

ok gabrielle being jealous of people for xena's love and attention is so funny to me because there is no one MORE whipped and in love with anyone than xena with gabrielle. like the HEART eyes this woman has for gabs??? the way she's so committed and devoted to her when she was very much a lone wolf before????? it's making me CRAZY to see how insanely in love xena is with gabrielle

i can't express in words how much it delights me that the post of mine that most consistently gets notes from week to week is my post explaining how Xena was an incredible moment in queer storytelling, especially considering the time during which it aired. the fact that people are reblogging it and saying 'i'm gonna give it a try' makes me so happy i could cry, and the consistency in notes makes me think about how people are still discovering and will continue to discover the show. seriously, Xena was the show that not only made me less afraid of being gay but uplifted and empowered me. it was so exciting from week to week to see an incredible, funny, clever, powerful, independent, beautiful, fearless woman fall more and more in love with her soul mate and increasingly center her whole life and existence around her. ugghhhhhhh best show in the fucking world 😭😭😭
