Eragon is 18 years old, and he has been the first Rider since the Rider's war. Eragon was also the only one to have a "proper" education and training for a rider. He has known that after war, he will be the one to find a place for rebuilding the dragon race and eventually be the new leader of Riders.
He had to leave his family, home, friends, and even love in order to make things right because the dragons from eggs and Eldunari needed him. It was his duty, and he thought that he was the only one who must do all that for Academy and future generations, that it his responsibility, and if he makes a mistake, it will be only his fault.
Eragon knows that he should be a peacekeeper, to keep peace between other races. Eragon was only 15 when he had to fight, he was Varden's only hope to defeat Galbatorix. Everyone was relying on him, and it was a lot of pressure on him. After Nasuada was abducted, Eragon had to become a leader of Varden, and it was hard for him to deal with other leaders, maintain stability in the army, and find weapons that would help him kill Galbatorix.
After the war, he had to help Nasuada. He didn't have time for himself to understand what he wanted. His main goal was only to find a place for future Academy, he didn't even think about other options.
I wonder, has Eragon ever been jealous of Murtagh, because his brother was finally free, free to be, and do anything he wants. Has he ever regretted not going with them to the North?
Eragon probably thinks that eventually he will have time for himself and his own desires but only after many years, maybe even centuries. After everything is finally settled down, but before that he must sacrifice his own desires and needs.

can i please know everything about ismira 👀 (no pressure though!!!)
it's sweet of you to ask pd take my hand come under the readmore with me...
Tumblr media
i originally made her to be my first durge but then i started getting backstory ideas that wouldn’t mesh with the pre-established durge lore and i envisioned her a bit younger than what a durge would entail. so she’s just a regular tav now, a half wood elf circle of the spore druid with the outlander background. she's a guardian of growth and decay, preserving the natural cycle of life of death and rebirth above all else. she was raised by her wood elf mother aurene, a circle of dreams druid, away from civilization deep in an ancient forest that her mother stewarded where she served as a healer and herbalist for the forest’s creatures and the surrounding hamlets.
when ismira was around 15 or 16 a cult began to desercrate the forest they protected and in the process of stopping them aurene was killed. there's a tie in here between the cult and ismira's human father that i'm still workshopping but in the wake of her mother's death she couldn't bring herself to move her mother's body or leave it behind. she lay beside it for several days feeding off the fungi and the rain water the forest provided and watching the decomposition process as the forest reclaimed the corpse, feeding scavengers, fertilizing the blighted soil to grow something new. she had an epiphany about the necessity of death for renewal, marking the beginning of her journey as a circle of spores druid. eventually she joins a more formal circle, and then ends up in baldur's gate in pursuit of the cult.
personality wise she has zero social graces from being raised in complete isolation so she's blunt to her detriment and comes across as very detached and unsettling on first impressions but beneath that is a deep compassion for all life and those who are suffering or vulnerable. her actions speak louder than her words, as she finds it difficult to express care openly. she also has a very dark sense of humor.
her romance with wyll is an unexpected attachment that burns very slowly, ismira has no romantic experience to speak of and the finer points of wyll's charm are lost on her. but she values his contrasting optimism and charm, even if she teases him about it. his kindness and belief in her make her feel seen and valued in a way she rarely allows herself to feel. wyll admires her strength and independence, seeing her as a grounding force in his life. her blunt honesty and wisdom challenge him to see the world in new ways. it culminates in their marriage and ismira's newfound noble status which she struggles with as she refuses to conform to societal expectations of her but ultimately finds purpose in helping the land, putting forth sustainable agricultural practices and better living conditions. they have a daughter together :)
