Wat Mahathat Yuwaratrangsarit - one of the 10 royal temples of the highest class (Thai: พระอารามหลวง ชั้นเอก ชนิดราชวรมหาวิหาร) in Bangkok. 🇹🇭💯🙏😊📸 Greetings and have a nice day all. ~~~~ Wat Mahathat Yuwaratrangsarit (Thai: วัดมหาธาตุยุวราชรังสฤษฎิ์ Built during Ayutthaya period, the temple was then known as Wat Salak. Soon after Bangkok was established as the capital of Siam, the temple became strategically situated between the newly built Grand Palace and Front Palace (residence of the vice-king). As a result, the temple was used for royal ceremonies and funerals. Throughout the past two centuries, the temple has been renovated and elevated in status by many Thai kings and royalties. It became the Wat Mahathat of Bangkok in 1803 and was given its current name in 1996. The temple is also home to Vipassana Meditation centre. Tượng ở trong chùa Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep

Đây là ngôi chùa thiêng liêng nhất ở Chiang Mai, được xây dựng vào năm 1383 để cất giữ xá lợi Phật. Ngôi chùa cổ này nằm trên đỉnh đồi Suthep, cao hơn 900m so với mực nước biển, là điểm hành hương nổi tiếng của người dân Chiang Mai và khắp đất nước Thái Lan.

Du khách có thể đi xe hoặc bước qua 290 bậc thang để lên tới đỉnh đồi, nơi ngôi chùa tọa lạc. Ngôi chùa hấp dẫn du khách không chỉ bởi tính linh thiêng mà còn bằng khung cảnh thiên nhiên ngoạn mục. Sau khi khấn nguyện, du khách nhớ phóng tầm mắt chiêm ngưỡng thành phố và làng mạc xung quanh.

i remember this day clearly. it was sooo hot and humid in bangkok. this photo was taken at Wat Mahathat Yuwaratrangsarit . its near the grand palace and Sanam Luang (park).

"Luxurious Lamp"

It wasn't the best lighting (back lit against a bright sky) but I had to get a photo of these crazy lights within the temple complex. It seems like an extreme example of form over function, and in this case, I'm ok with it.

"Cloister of Golden Buddhas"

I wandered into this temple not knowing anything about it, so I was more than happy to find this cloister (a covered but open walk way related to monk life) filled with golden Buddhas, as I walked though an unassuming doorway. I was also surprised to find that they were all different (though there's lots of similarities)
