Fictober23 Prompt: 25 - "Do I look like I knew that?"
Fandom: DPxDC
Rating: T
Warnings: -
A/N: Edit - adjusted the last bit a little after rereading this during my break, so that it makes grammatically more sense...
There was no warning. The moment the Waynes had stepped into the main hall of this Gala they had not been prepared for what had been about to happen. The only sign they had gotten was Damian tensing for a split second before the youngest of them booked it across the hall.
Tim and Bruce instantly attempted damage control, distracting all the high society people that had noticed it, while Dick and Jason followed their youngest. Cass had already escaped the gala to the roof before they had set their first foot into the main hall.
But again, nothing could have prepared them for what was happening.
Damian not only had seen something that caused him to sprint across the room no, their Demon Brat had gone a step further and just tackled the kid of someone else over and was now wrestling with the other boy! Holding one of the daggers they must have missed to the other boy's neck.
Surprisingly, the other kid held himself pretty well against Damian. Jason and Dick spent a good five minutes just staring when they had found their youngest, only starting to move again when Vlad Master demanded answers from his child. The apparent guardian of the kid that was currently attempting to get a choke hold on Damian before getting flipped over the shoulder, the boy flipped mid air, landing on his feet.
Before Damian could lung at the other boy again Dick grabbed him, his arm wounding around Damians chest as he held onto his youngest brother that sent quite an impressive death glare towards the other kid that just returned the glare, not with the same intensity but clearly peeved had having gotten attacked out of nowhere.
"Daniel! Explain this instant! You promised me, one gala without a ruckus!" Master was clearly not amused, hopefully Bruce had some sort of peace offering ready. Not that the man needed it, Dick thought, remembering some of the reports he had seen the man on.
The boy, Daniel, turned his glare towards his guardian. "It's not my fault this time! HE attacked me first!" Jason snorted, clearly having heard out of that statement alone that Masters apparently also had a feral kid that attacked someone at a gala before.
"This is no excuse. I know you are still grieving but you can not attack my business partner's children. Wasn't it enough that you broke Andrews Mayors nose last week?"
"He deserved it, he hit a girl in a perverted way."
"Justin Gracer?"
"Made fun of my late parents' profession."
"Daniel."
"Fruitloop."
Dick watched how Masters pinched the bridge of his nose, clearly not happy with his charge. By now Damian seemed to have calmed down too from whatever idea he had gotten into his head. He was still glaring at the other kid but at least it appeared he wasn't going to attack anymore when he hissed at Dick to let go of him. He still kept a hand on his shoulder just in case.
"I am so sorry Mr. Master. It wasn't Daniel that started it. Damian, come on apologies." Dick cut in, causing the other two to pay attention and fully face them. That's when he noticed it. Daniel looked a whole lot like Damian. The older siblings shared a glance before Jason left to get the others, Tim and Bruce were still stuck doing damage control but it should only be a matter of time. What was the best way to bring it up to ask subtitle questions without appearing suspicious?
Dick was just about a question before Daniel apparently beat him to it. "Fruitloop, you did not attempt to clone me did you?"
"Little Badger, why would I do that? I already have guardianship over you."
Dick felt like he was missing something here but he also felt Daniam's shoulder tense below his hand. So that was why he had attacked. Damian thought another clone appeared. He really hoped what Masters and his Charge seid were just some ill timed joke. Otherwise the implications would be very worrisome.
"Mom and Dad didn't keep some other family relations secret did they?" Daniel then asked and Masters looked at them contemplatively. "Well Jack was estranged from the rest of his family while Maddie only had her sister Alicia and as far as I am aware you and Jasmine were their only children."
"Mr. Masters if you don't mind, would it be alright to do a DNA testing? You said Daniel's father was estranged from his family? It would be good to find out now if there is a relation." Dick ignored the glare Damian was sending him now, but this was his best excuse to get the others DNA to test if the other boy was really a clone or not. If he was then the League of Assassins must have done some serious brainwashing, and memory manipulation. This would also be the first clone of Damian that actually had a consciousness of his own.
"Doesn't explain why he attacked me…" he heard the other boy mutter as Master stared at them with narrowed eyes for a while before giving the boy by his side a contemplating look.
"Daniel has lost his family and friends in an incident recently. It would be good if we found any family he could connect with or help with his grief." The man then finally said after a moment before handing Dick a business card with a number to connect them before leading his boy away, leaving the gala for all they knew.
A week later and after a lot of discussion in their Family. The Waynes and Masters meet for the DNA testing. Though the moment Masters and his charge met Bruce both froze, Bruce in his Brucie act blinked innocently at them and asked if anything was wrong.
"Fruitloop…"
"Don't be ridiculous Daniel. I never would have attempted what you appear to be implying."
The boy pointed in at Bruce as he faced his guardian. "Look at him and tell me they don't look alike! He is like a more fit version of Dad! Like he hadn't eaten a single one of mom fudges in years! You have to have an explanation for that!"
"And how would I do that?"
"I don't know! You're the fruitloop one that had cloning equipment in the basement! Who did you buy it from? Some old fruitloop? The one you bought it from, did they try to - i don't know - clone a celebrity for themselves! The papers you had with it clearly stated that it had been used successfully once. It was a second hand bought with super old technology when I demanded you destroy the stuff!"
"Daniel, do I look like I knew that? I never looked in these papers you speak of! I just bought it as a backup plan, that I never needed a little badger! Besides the only one I would have ever attempted to clone with that time frame would have been your mother! I didn't even know your father before college! "
"Why would you buy something without looking into the papers and instruction manuals you get with it?!"
"There was no need for! Why did you even look into that when you had me destroy it anyway?!"
The Waynes looked back and forth between Masters and his charge. The more these two continued to argue the more a sinking feeling started to form in everyone present. It was Tim though that voiced everyone's thoughts as he leaned over to Bruce whispering only one question. "Are we sure there never has been an attempt of someone trying to clone you? It sounds like there had been one, years ago…"

I haven't posted in a while bc of drama/exhaustion/overall lack of motivation to do anything but doomscroll, but. But. I just found out some species of sharks can reproduce asexually, and the funniest (really just a crack) idea just spawned in head lol, so yay, motivation (Sort of.)
It's literally just trans!Vox with some shark-like attributes in addition to the mechanical mess he is, going about his life, and then chaos. At some point, his body just finds out a way to completely circumvent the whole 'infertile' thing going on with sinners because of his unique biology, and chaos unfolds. Essentially what happens is the mechanical side starts stealing unused pieces and throwing them together to make a kid, and then the biological side is just cloning using the weird stuff that makes up his body. Vox has no clue what's going on (The workaholic completely misses that his period wasn't there for some reason), he just thinks he's sick and that's why he's so tired and hungry all of the time and needs to keep fixing his legs, only to find out when he goes to get and upgrade, that, no, there's a tiny parasitic clone inside of him.
And then there are different paths depending on the ship.
Like, Radiostatic (My personal fave) would be Alastor and Vox trying to figure out this happened since they never actually slept together??? (Metaphorically, they sleep together literally quite a bit), so this pairing would be the first to find out how it happened. They would also be the first pair to 'fix' it and make sure it never happens again, unless... do they want it to??? It would then be a big mess of Alastor trying to figure out if Vox wants a kid, and VOX trying to figure out if he wants a kid, and the whole hotel just trying to stay out of the drama, while also help. And then said kid/clone would be raised by the entire hotel because Vox is a workaholic and Alastor is... Alastor. Vox would definitely make an effort, but he has three babies, and Vark and Voxtek don't have anybody else who would take care of them, while the kid/clone has an entire hotel raising them. And besides, it takes a hotel! So, this clone/kid would be sweet (Chaggie), with a *bit* of a murdery/chaotic side (Nifty and Alastor), and a whole lot of smart (Vox and Husk) and mischievous (Angel Dust.)
Staticmoth (My second fave) would be more of Val freaking out because if Vox got pregnant somehow, does that mean any of the other (AFAB) sinners he slept with did too!? And they have an open relationship, is it even his kid?! He's not qualified for this! Get it away from him! Probably, the cause wouldn't be found out until the third or fourth month (It's five months total), and by then, Val's less 'oh, shit, I'm screwed' and more 'everything must be PERFECT for Voxy's child,' and Vox is less 'wtf is going on' and more 'time to spoil the SHIT out of this kid.' Velvette's just watching the whole thing go down (and posting it all online) and is either a) jealous of the baby or b) the big sister who's plotting to exploit their unborn sibling. Basically all the Vees would try to raise the baby, but it would end up mostly being Velvette until the kid's 10 or so, because, again, Vox is a workaholic, and he's not letting Val anywhere near his clone/kid until they're at LEAST fifty. This definitely ends up in an influencer/modern kid/clone.
And then, just to have three different paths, with Staticapple, Vox is 100% blaming Lucifer the entire time. Like, they don't even try to find out what causes it, because as far as they're concerned, Lucifer did some weird angelic shit, and this happened. Poor Luci got kicked out onto the couch for a month before Vox decides he's lonely and wants cuddles. And then the kid turns out to be a clone, and Vox, in his infinite shark autism, realizes what happens, and then chooses to stay quiet about it, while Luci's just excited to have another kid. This kid will be raised by two veryyy autistic-coded parents. They will have a special interest, and they will be big on it. They will also have an overabundance of shark and duck themed stuff.

Who is your favorite human character from Rescue Bots?
(yet another example of a seemingly short post turning long)
My favorite human character in Rescue Bots has been tied between Kade and Dani. Dani is just a really fun character and I feel myself relating to her and her daredevilness. She in all is a pretty popular character as well.
Now I know that people don't generally like Kade
But I have my reasons.
I love asshole characters, especially ones that could be considered loveable assholes. I considered Kade to be one of the characters, even if the show didn't handle the trope well. Kade is honestly a character that needs to grow on you. Sometimes it's quick, sometimes it takes all four seasons. For me, it was the second episode.
That episode was honestly the peak of being an older sibling. How I know? I'm an older sibling.
In that episode we see our general Kade characteristics. He is egotistical, a jerk to Heatwave, and a jerk to members of his family. I honestly believe these are valid reasons to not like him, especially if your favorites are Heatwave or Cody. (Yes I am calling y'all out) However, he still cares about all of them, especially for the bots after that episode.
Kade literally older sibling freaked out when it was revealed Cody was in danger. He (mostly) kept his calm cause he is a first responder, that is in the job description to keep a level head, but he was still scared about Cody's safety. His first priority was getting there first to stop the lava, and when Heatwave revealed he was also scared for the younger Burns child, that is what started Kade's respect for him.
Now I will admit, how he got with Hayley was not a good example for a kids show. No one owes you a date just cause you save their life. However, if Hayley truly was not interested later on after that, she wouldn't continue going on dates with him. Their relationship from what we see in the show isn't the healthiest, but it's nothing bad to be purely honest. Hayley has boundaries she clearly sets, as seen in the episode where Kade gets cloned 5 times over. She speaks her mind to him, and pushes him to not be a complete jerk. And Kade respects her wishes! The show, if it did focus more on their relationship, could have pushed for Kade to have more character growth as their relationship grew. However, the show was not built to work with that kind of story plot.
As for how Kade acts with his family, you can see he instantly backtracks when he realizes his words have hurt his family. I truly believe he doesn't think before he speaks. A character flaw, yes, but it does not represent his true morals and ethics. He wouldn't be on a rescue team if he was a truly terrible person. In the episode where the bots are struck with a sickness from the meteor, he tries to rationalize the situation in his own way of coping. But as soon as he realizes that the way of coping he was using wasn't helping Cody, he changes his tune to support Cody's way of coping. In the Squilsh episode, we see him try to argue that he should be the last to leave the area, he didn't want to leave Graham behind and alone. It was Chief having to push him to Blade's ladder to make him leave and get to safety.
And it isn't like we don't see him being anything but an egotistical asshole, we see him genuinely scared. The gremlins episode is a perfect example of this. Kade had a big phobia of them, he barely got any sleep cause of nightmares dealing with them, and he didn't want to enter the power plant cause of it being overrun by them. However, it isn't like he didn't do anything to overcome it. He went to Doc Greene to find a solution, and when it did backfire, Kade didn't back down. Heatwave also showed some great character development in this episode, he didn't make fun of Kade too much for his fear, and even encouraged him to get into the powerplant. Kade was then able to overcome the fear, showing growth in his character.
And on the topic of Heatwave and Kade's relationship. They remind me so much of my own relationship with one of my best friends. We make fun of each other, we are assholes to each other, he makes fun of my autism, I make fun of him being a twink. But we are still best friends. We know the limits and boundaries of our jokes, and it isn't just us being assholes to each other 24/7. We have genuine hearts to hearts, we give each other advice, and we help each other out through difficulties in our life. This is exactly what Heatwave and Kade's relationship is, though not a direct parallel to my relationship.
Heatwave isn't innocent in the beginning with how he treats Kade, just as Kade is not innocent. They are both unfiltered, unreasonable assholes to each other. Heatwave is mad that Optimus Prime won't let him join the Prime Team, and he takes that out on being a pessimistic jerk to the situation they are in. He does not want to be on Griffin Rock, and that is evident. Kade, doesn't reasonably want to work and be inside of an alien. ANY REASONABLE PERSON WOULD BE LIKE THAT. However, it does not excuse his treatment of Heatwave, who is another sentient being. Heatwave is a genuine jerk throughout the first season. It is evident he only cares about his team and Cody. The flobster's episode is a good example of this, he won't care until it is his job. Now, he does grow out of this, which is good cause character development, we love that here.
As the season goes on we see their relationship develop into this friendly "I hate your guts but I will kill for you" situation. (Obviously they do not actually hate each other's guts, but they still act like it) This kind of character development is my favorite! The show does a good job at showing this as well. If you compare the first few episodes of season 1, with the episodes of season 3 and 4, you can see how their relationship has changed. Neither of them are scared to speak their mind, and there is obviously respect in the relationship. Kade and Heatwave have grown to understand and respect each other, while still being jerks to each other. Heatwave is not afraid to make fun of Kade and vice versa, which honestly I believe is a clear sign of a good and healthy relationship. You can point out flaws in each other, and no one is going to instantly get butthurt. Boundaries just have to be established and maintained.
I wish the show could have further explored more of these character developments, not just in Kade but in everyone. However, it is a kids show meant for preschoolers, they just want to watch cool transforming robots save the day.
Another thing with Kade is that it is so fun in the fandom sphere to add headcanons and backstory. I love a character who you can do that with.

This is stupid, has no basis in canon, doesn't really add anything new or unique, and doesn't make much sense. It's not even a theory. I just have a dumb headcanon I'd love to see happen.
Ever notice how Quentin Quire basically stole Julian's role? Sure you did. Everyone ragged on Quire for it. Suddenly we had two powerful psychic/telekinetic teen mutants with mutant-superiority leanings and an attitude towards the X-Men. But what if this was intentional?
Despite being different, they were cut from the same cloth. But what if this was intentional? What if, in the game of Nature vs Nurture, Nature was winning?
What if Quentin Quire was actually Julian's brother, and a third Keller child?
Like he's either Julian's twin, or a brother that's slightly older than him. Either way, the Kellers gave him up. Possibly because they were not financially stable enough at the time to raise three children and run a small business. Possibly because they knew he was a mutant somehow, and Mr. Keller didn't want to deal with that.
Maybe the Kingmaker knew how powerful he'd grow up to be. Possibly via clairvoyant contact, or through whatever demonic powers he already has. While the Kellers only got rich from the Kingmaker when Julian was already over a decade old, it's possible they were working for him much earlier, and part of their deal with him was to offer up one of their kids. And look, Julian's birth came with a pre-order bonus.
Or maybe the Kingmaker isn't involved at all. At any rate, Quentin would have been given up by his biological parents, and adopted into the Quire family.
Look, Cyclops can have three brothers, Black Womb, two different Nates, Rachel, a clone wife, a clone of his son, and a ton of others things. That's not including how the family tree kinda-sorta brings the Fantastic Four into this. With all that in mind, I think Julian can afford to have ONE secret sibling.
Note that it's pretty common for family members to have very similar powers to one another: Cable and Rachel are psychics like their mother, Banshee and Siryn have similar abilities, the Summers clan have energy-based gifts. You could easily make a case for Shard and Bishop. Sunfire and Sunpyre? Daken and Laura? Not all family members have matching powers, but it's not an uncommon occurrence.
So them having similar powers could be used to justify a connection. Their similar personality traits and arcs could easily be explained as a familial quirk. Quire was adopted and we don't know much, if anything about his biological family. And the Kellers could have various reasons for giving up one of their children. In fact, it would make a lot of sense for them to give up a child in secret, so as to protect their image. So hiding his existence would track very well.
Also, they both get on Cyclops' nerves
Tumblr media
But I'm more interested in what it would mean for the "brothers." Instead of having Quire step over Hellion's gimmicks, the two would be two sides of the same coin. Their stories would parallel each other.
I think it'd add a unique spin on Hellion's view of the X-Men, too. He didn't start a riot, get any of his fellow students killed, his riots were arguably smaller and less impactful than the Riot at Xavier's. And yet, while Julian was punished for his bad behavior and treated as a monster, people were giving chances to Quentin and repeatedly giving him opportunities.
Quentin was also seemingly blessed by the universe: Quire got to be the Phoenix, and what did Julian get? His hands blown off. Julian's already shown some resentment for this.
Tumblr media
Yeah, Quire lost his biological family. But you know what? So was Julian, after a while. And we know that Julian's home life wasn't that great to begin with, because his parents were shown to be neglectful, he was compared negatively to his more successful brother James, and his dad was trying to make him hide away his mutation to fit in with human norms.
So Quentin fucking Quire being his own flesh and blood would be a huge kick in the dick. On top of the preferential treatment Quire got from the X-Men and the universe, nature itself saw to it that they came from the same source, and Quire still won out.
Meanwhile, Quire would have a mirror to his own behavior. He'd see someone who didn't get the same opportunities to grow like he got. Without the support he was given, without the power he had, he could have easily slipped back into extremism and villainy. He could have been the Krakoan instead of Julian, if things were just a little different.
He'd probably look down on Julian for breaking bad, while Quire (mostly) stayed on the straight and narrow since he was resurrected. But you could easily point out how it took Julian years of abuse to finally turn into a villain, while Quire broke shortly after he was introduced. Either way, they both had that potential to give into their worst instincts. Quire would probably get on his high horse and use this as an example that he (Quire) is the superior sibling, but even he should be able to recognize that their circumstances are very different.
And now that they're both active in books at the same time, we have the perfect opportunity for them to confront each other. Julian, who already resents his brother for getting everything he ever wanted, sees that he was chosen by the X-Men yet again, while simultaneously abandoning the X-Men's ways to carve his own path.
For those who hate Quire, this could be a great way to flesh out his story. I always felt like he got off too easily for some of the stuff he'd done, and it didn't help that a lot of stories made him a comic relief character to make him less threatening. But imagine him being one of the few people to recognize how the X-Men failed Julian, and feeling guilty that he was "redeemed" while Julian wasn't. Maybe his own family issues and a desire for connection could motivate him to help Hellion.
Suddenly, Quentin Quire isn't just a guy who steps on Julian's toes and "steals" his gimmicks. He's a mirror. The two bring the best and worst out of each other. They could be the missing family that each of them craves, and they could be bitter enemies.
And if that doesn't interest you? Imagine the banter. Just two snarky, rude fucks duking it out every time they share a panel.

More!!!! Nemec, Fireball and Howzer content brought to you by yours truly ✨️ I'm so devastated by the pain I'm inflicting upon them.
Rex and Echo found Nemec and Fireball in a bin after they defected. They were homeless, jobless, all the lesses and preparing to sell their limbs for food
Fireball bit Echo because he thought he was a threat. He claims Echo tasted awful all the time. Echo blames living with Hunter and the others on that
But really, Nemec and Fireball weren't doing well at all- they had abandoned their squad, after they defected, and when their brothers didn't join, they were hunted down. They were half dead when Rex and Echo found them in that bin
Fireball hasn't really gotten over it, yet, he's unintentionally aggressive and always keeping them stocked up so they never end up where they used to be
Nemec says he's over it, but he isn't. He's just quicker to put others ahead of himself, because he doesn't want others to go through the things he did. It wasn't fair, and he won't leave another behind
That being said- the rebellion is hard. It's not safe, they're jumping from mission to mission, base to base, they're tired. They're suffering. They find joy where they can
That's why Fireball enjoyed learning from Gregor how to cook. He shadows him whenever he can come around, follows every recipe he leaves for him- when they can afford it, Fireball gives them the best homecooked meals.
They work well together- Nemec looks UP to Rex. Working with him is a dream come true. He tags along with Rex all the time, like a shiny, and even copied some of his older moves once (gave Rex a RIGHT fright. He wasn't ready for Nemec to throw himself off a wall)
Howzer loves his brothers. He misses his squad- but he loves his brothers. He's always making sure they know it, too. He's always shadowing them, hovering- he trusts them, he understands they are trained soldiers, they can handle themselves.
^^ he's always with them. He's always protecting them. He would lay down his life from there.
Nemec and Fireball are among the youngest clones in the rebellion- at least, the youngest allowed to fight- Echo debated hiding them like the shinies who hadn't any real experience and Nemec and Fireball BEGGED. i mean on hands and knees. It freaked him out, honestly
They thought they were ready- they were, kinda.
Freeing Howzer was basically him realising it was just the war all over again. Because that was a child. Why is a child freeing him? (Ignoring he's only like a year older....)
In happier(ish) times, Nemec liked to slide alone cruisers without his shoes on, gliding through the halls in socks because he got around faster
^^ hes crashed into so many things. He once crashed INTO the medbay while going in for a slide-related injury.
Fireball thinks its the best mode of transport- he does it all the time
Howzer thinks its a hazard. They laugh at him and slide away.
Fireball always said he'd get a cool scar like Commander Cody one day, and Nemec often told him he wasn't gonna hold his face together if something like that actually happened.
^^ he would. In a heartbeat.
Nemec only has the one scar from the war- and it wasn't because of any battle. He fell during his scout.... his chin has a scar. Fireball told everyone it was a separatist droid he fistfought
(Howzer didn't believe him....)
Greer is like that one cousin they don't see often, but when they do its to go smoke space weed while Howzer, Rex and Echo plan their next move
(No, he doesn't actually give them the weed... he doesn't think they can handle it)
Samson and Greer are the sound siblings that let the others blast tunes and fuck around when is their turn on watch- they're only responsible when they're on perimeter. Inside patrol?? Crank the radio up. The ones outside will handle things
Samson helped Nemec and Fireball repaint their helmets when they joined to welcome them (and he also punched Nemec because he forgot he was there... that bunk had always been empty, okay?)
I have more... always, but take these :)

Writing whatever I want: Arthur ramblings
Tumblr media
He's Trans :>
His hair is not naturally black but blonde instead, he just dyes it.(or shui does it for him, this man can't do anything with his hair to safe his life.)
Arthur wasn't actually his first new name, at first it was Gabriel, his parents choose it for him. He doesn't respond to this name anymore unless his brother addresses him with it.
The reason he choose the name Arthur is actually because he liked reading the legend of King Arthur as a child.
Speaking of siblings, he is the oldest of three, both his brother Adrien and sister Vivian are younger than him and he practically raised them their whole childhood.
Adrien is actually a character that comes up in his story, their relationship is kinda complicated. He is very used to Arthur bending over backwards for him it's not like he knows it any other way as he doesn't even correct him when he is called by his old name. That lack of communication and lack of boundaries caused their relationship to slowly start deteriorating.
Vivian doesn't really appear since she doesn't live in Megapolis, she still lives in Paris but their relationship is a bit better I guess, mainly because they don't really talk much to each other other than the occasional phone call so it's all very distant.
He doesn't have any special ancestry or is the reincarnation of someone as far as he knows, with him it's kinda like: "you know what? I don't need to be a demon or anything like that, I have this!" Pulls out a gun.
Also yeah he mainly fights with a gun, it's bullets don't actually hurt people, it just gives them an electric shock.
Small warning for mentions of self experimenting in these two segments I guess?(the science kind not the self expression kind)
I always imagine that his pupils move like the wax inside a lava lamp when his face his neutral but they can also take different shapes to emphasise his expressions, it wasn't a trait he was born with but he more so acquired it through a series of...self experiments. They call him "the mad scientist" for a reason! Ever since he had kids though he stopped doing those.
Those experiments also gave him other none visible differences, alcohol,medication,poisons and other such things no longer affect him.
If you're wondering how he has bio kids...magical river water that makes you pregnant is a thing that exists in this world- his ex-wife simply drank that mixed with both their DNA.
He has a very strict rule on not experiment on anything living in general, his own body is the only exception to that rule.
He barely sleeps. He is scared to fall asleep. He will literally stay up until he starts hallucinating only to, when he does get some shut eye, wake up screaming bloody murder every time from nightmares. He hates it and has taken to resting when nobody is home because of that to not bother anyone with this.
He is redsons mentor, kind of, originally red broke into his house to steal a powerful energy cell to help his father gain back his old glory, but with the power of tea and treats, basically being an absolute model host he somehow was able to convince him not do that??? Well thats how he won over the bull clones, there was also the fact that the mugufin was unstable and could blow his dad to bits- so he offered him to work on it together to finish it faster. They see each other every Monday and Arthur has a picture of redson in his wallet :)
He has a tendency to mumble to himself, usually in French.

Oooh, how would meloni raising Thad change things? Bc I’d imagine it’d change a lot lol
HI. sorry this took a bit. im notoriously terrible at answering asks or like anything at a practical pace so i had to get my brain into the mood to answer. but thanks for sending i really appreciate it!
so yes the short answer is that A LOT changes. i think the main aspect here is that thad is actually raised as a wanted, loved child with his own thoughts and feelings that matter versus president's thawnes upbringing of him only being useful when he can be used as a tool to terminate bart or hurt the flashfam. though meloni definitely wasn't expecting another child in this au, she welcomes thad in with open arms knowing that if he's raised by eobard, thad won't be loved and she would never want that if she could help it. so the best option she has is to take him home and raise him herself.
she's not the best parent ever. no one is. but if there's one thing meloni can ensure she does is make sure thad knows hes loved and appreciated no matter what his origin is. when thad is older she probably explains the complex situation to him so that he doesn't have to find out in some other way that could be traumatic.
assuming things go to plan, mel would encourage thad in any way she could much like how she does with bart canonically in the very little time they have together. in this au/verse, bart's rapid aging either doesn't exist or is solved when hes still a baby which makes things a bit more normal though i imagine raising any speedster child can be a nightmare at times.
i'm sure some traits that thad has typically still show up, like him being very dedicated to whatever his tasks/responsibilities are, maybe being a little unintentionally rude or blunt, and he and bart would probably still bicker and fight a lot but not physically or to an extreme degree. just like typical sibling junk. but because from the moment they got him thad isn't "trained" to be evil or whatever he probably just ends up in a sort of chaotic good position or maybe even chaotic neutral but NOT evil. he still has the potential to be bad just like we all do but it would only end that way if he has some other influence outside of mel bart & don that is frequent and persistant enough to outshine mel's well intentioned upbringing.
he'd probably still end up as a hero. idk if he'd still be inertia maybe cause its just a cool ass name but maybe with a different suit that isn't inverted-color impulse since he has his own life now and has different interests and thoughts outside of his genetical coding being identical to bart. he's allowed to become his own person no matter what his dna says. he's not constrained to JUST be the better or inferior bart/bart-clone. and meloni and don would make sure thad always knows he is his own person and he's not just an extension of bart. they may be brothers but they are not the same person.
i could probably ramble even more on this and i will probably. i have that fic i plan on touching after like a year and a half of nothing. i have a surgery coming up and a buttload of time to recover so i might get some writing done soon. if you're interested in this stuff, keep an eye out! plan to get more art and writing in this verse asap : )

T!Wis's story - the long version ❤️
[MTAS and MTAP spoilers below]
🪙 Childhood
When they married, Viktor Willows and Sophia Willows brought together two heads of the biggest industries in the Alliance: Viktor, banking and finances, and Sophia, the railroad. Obviously, to preserve their fortunes and their names, they wished to have children who would grow up to prosperous futures. Outside all the material needs for their children (a life of comfort, the best education money could buy, the smartest and most resourceful people in the Alliance mere handshakes away), they wanted to truly cover all of their bases. That included on a spiritual front, despite neither having really grown up with particularly superstitious beliefs.
And so they paid a visit to the most famous soothsayer in the world, in the capital of Seesai, who read the stars and their energies and compatibilities and all sorts to determine the best way to go about the future, including how many children to have. Three, the soothsayer said. Three children, no more, no less, and their business and family would be prosperous and well.
Viktor and Sophia were able to have two children themselves; first their son Diamantis, then their daughter Chrysanthi. But they sadly found themselves unable to produce another child, so in a panic, they turned to adoption.
Meanwhile, V5!Wis and her father were still in the process of adopting out the other clones. Vega 5 was their facilitator, helping them seek out potential good families. Once they got word that the wealthy Willows family was looking to adopt a child, they pressured the Lins to let them adopt the next clone. Not only would it be a boost for their reputations, but help Vega 5 score a potential private funding partner. The Lins weren't entirely sold on the Willows' potential to be a good family for a clone; their fame and prominent standing in society was actually the exact opposite of what they wanted. They aimed for more ordinary people, focused on making the best for themselves and those around them, not entirely clouded by external ambition. But as time passed, Vega 5's pressure only grew, and they were all but forced to let the Willows take the next clone in.
T!Wis's childhood wasn't entirely bad. Her parents doted on all of their children, fostering their interests. While her siblings took interest in the family business and the cutthroat world of politics, Wis was intrigued by the relatively humble occupation of building. A highly-respected profession across the world, essential for the continued well-being of every society, but comparatively...low class. At first, Wis's parents thought her interest in it was merely a phase. But when she was in middle school, she expressed interest in becoming a builder for a living. And that was when things started taking a turn for the worse.
While her siblings shot to the top of their school rankings with nearly every honor and award under the sun, Wis was more focused on shop classes and practical science and engineering classes. Her parents tried to dissuade her from her path, but when you tell a teenager that they're wrong and wasting their potential, they naturally only want to double down. The parental comparisons began, both among her siblings and with her classmates (which, of course, they knew all the families of). Why couldn't Wis be more like her brother and sister? Doesn't she know that building's a saturated market in Atara? She'd be a lot more secure if she goes for something better. It wasn't too late to change courses. They could get tutors. Have her shadow within the Willows' company. Her brother's the heir to the big man's chair, but certainly with enough effort they could at least get her into the C-suite...
The more time passed, the less and less Wis wanted to listen to the grumbling of her parents. Her relationship with her siblings strained as she tried to get them to realize that something was wrong. They admitted that they weren't entirely comfortable with all the things they were saying, and tried to dissuade their parents' remarks a little bit, but they ultimately still felt too intimidated to do anything drastic, fearing that displeasing them would lead to the loss of their support and their home. Far easier to lie and save face to keep the household together.
☁️ Tallsky
Wis began applying to builder academies in late high school, and her parents finally relented a little once she had received an offer from Tallsky's academy. Tallsky was known as the "City of Builders," having originated the profession as we know it today, and only continuing to foster a community of incredibly skilled builders, even entire lineages dedicated to the craft and passing techniques down through the ages. Wis's parents figured that as long as she was at the top of the building industry, maybe it'd be okay.
Wis's time at academy was a breath of fresh air. A solid 4 years away from the pressures of her family (though people did recognize her as being a Willows, which was always awkward at best), surrounded by people and a culture that was driven so much by what she was passionate about. She always dreaded going home during breaks and vacations.
After she graduated, she was to immediately start a workshop in Atara, hopefully to climb the ranks and build herself a good enough reputation there. After a year, though, whatever results she got weren't enough to satisfy her parents, once again comparing her to her older siblings, primed to take over the Willows' company at a moment's notice and freshly elected to the Alliance Counsel (the youngest member in history, no less).
At her wit's end and just a hair's breadth away from exploding entirely, Wis managed to finagle a deal out of her parents. One last chance. She'd move back to Tallsky instead and build her career there. It wasn't Atara, but for builders, it was definitely the next best thing.
And so she got herself a fresh start, but unlike her time in the academy, she wasn't terribly interested in being agreeable. She had to prove herself, and with what she experienced in Atara, she had to be able to do anything to get ahead. So while her rankings were unmatched, she quickly garnered another reputation: for being the most ruthless and deceptive builder anyone had the displeasure of working with. Don't take her offers of collaboration, she'll write you a contract to screw you out of the profits and rep points. Snatch commissions up while you can, because we're pretty sure she's exploiting legal loopholes to get more. She's not technically doing anything illegal, so we can't bring the Commerce Guild down on her. Her clients don't complain, because her work is legitimately incredibly skilled. Everyone was at a deadlock when it came to Wis.
🪻 Another her...?
One day, at a meeting with a supplier in Walnut Groove, Wis was wandering down a street filled with happy, passionate artisans, all going about their day. She didn't think very much of them. The whole culture of Walnut Groove was kind of laughable to her. So lackadaisical. No ambition. So imagine her displeasure when she suddenly sees her own face...happily throwing lopsided pots on a wheel, in a workshop on the side of a street. This was Wisteria Lark.
As it turns out....Wis's parents neglected to tell her that how she got adopted...and the fact that she was a clone. This other clone, Walnut Groove!Wis, was delighted to meet another one of them for the first time, but was immediately put off a little by her new clone sister's rather unpleasant disposition. T!Wis saw WG!Wis as everything she couldn't be. Middle of the road. Making mistakes. Happy with mediocrity. Despite that, she was convinced to give WG!Wis her address, if only to send her letters every once in a while to gloat.
Things only escalated from there, because only a few weeks later, she saw her face again. This time on every newspaper in the news stand. The Hero of Sandrock. Wisteria Cyprens. And then again just a few days later. Also in the papers, posing tranquilly next to in progress repairs in Portia, which was just devastated by the attack by the Rogue Knight. Wisteria Birck.
Her own face, elsewhere in the world, being happy and finding fame and caring people by the circumstances dropping them into their laps. While she toils around in the dust, everything she wants constantly evading her.
She angrily reached out to S!Wis and P!Wis, sending them letters and telegrams to challenge them to build-offs, demanding that they square off in order prove her superiority. Both of them, exhausted and not up for another hostile threat, especially from another clone, refused and told her to back down. Undeterred, she ventured out to Sandrock herself to give S!Wis a piece of her mind. Luckily (though it would soon be unluckily), not only was S!Wis there, but so were P!Wis and D!Wis. D!Wis happened to be traveling the world at the time and arrived in Sandrock after the invasion, and both she and P!Wis were there to see S!Wis and aid in her recovery from the invasion.
Naturally, none of them were pleased to meet the very annoyed T!Wis, and while they harshly told her to stand down, after doing some digging, they approached her again with the worst thing imaginable: pity. It seems like they managed to figure things out from what WG!Wis told them, and from news in Tallsky and what they knew about the Willows family. It doesn't have to be like this, they said. Who was T!Wis even trying to prove herself to?
❌ The Breaking Point
T!Wis abruptly left Sandrock once her sisters started trying to sympathize with her. This was even worse than dealing with her family. Or so she thought.
All the pent up resentment, combined the all the new anger towards her clone sisters, finally came crashing down the next Winter Solstice, when she returned to Atara for the holidays, and what would be the last time.
What started as an ordinary New Year's feast turned sour once Wis's career was mentioned, along with the other clones. Things escalated quickly, ending explosively as Wis screamed out all her true feelings towards her parents' treatment throughout the years, before rifling through the estate, grabbing as any valuables and her things as she could carry, and leaving for good, catching the next train to Tallsky just a few hours later.
She couldn't work for a week solid after that. Rumors quickly started churning, and Wis started feeling the walls closing in on her. She couldn't do this anymore. She had to run away. Someone where no one would talk about her, no one would recognize her, nothing.
In a desperate measure, she vented to WG!Wis in a letter, not expecting anything to come out of it. She was the only one left who she hadn't completely infuriated. To her surprise, WG!Wis offered her a place at her workshop in Walnut Groove. Being such a carefree place that hardly paid attention to rankings and things like that over the love and passion of individual craft, it was the perfect place to get away and lie low. Her name wasn't anywhere near as big there.
So T!Wis pulled some strings, striking her name from the Atara and Tallsky resident records, and set her old workshop alight. And then she saddled up a horse and made her way to Walnut Groove, to hopefully live a calmer, more fulfilled life.
💅 What's next?
T!Wis's biggest goal from here on out will be to relearn her true passion for her craft, which she lost when it got swallowed by her need to prove herself. And more importantly, how to calm tf down 💀 WG!Wis will help her accomplish that with her incredibly contrasting nature, being a serial hobbyist that chases the high of finding new passions, and T!Wis will gradually help her in turn by teaching her how to bite the bullet and strive for mastery in a craft, which requires dealing with the frustration plateaus and blocks.
Eventually she'll reconcile with her other clone sisters, and come to see them as her true family. Their eccentricities and their different approaches to life, despite them all having the same face, voice, and name, become a source of comfort for her. She doesn't have to be the one disgraced Willows, the tumor on their perfect nuclear family. She's a Wisteria. Doing her own thing like all the others.
...Perhaps until MTAE, though. Given how the background of the story is about the ever increasing tensions with Duvos, I think that a wealthy family like the Willows would start getting involved...and maybe not in good ways. We'll have to see how T!Wis manages to handle her old parents and brother potentially trying to fund war efforts along the border and in Evershine...she might have to head on over there to try and persuade P!Wis not to take their sponsorships...
Perhaps she may even try to reconcile with the Willows siblings and have them finally resolve their family conflicts for the better? 👀 Have her brother start running the business in more ethical ways and for better reasons? Maybe her sister gets voted out of office when she doesn't take the more extreme platform to bolster efforts towards all out war and T!Wis helps her to advocate for more beneficial policies at a local level? Who knows...

A few months ago I woke up (I wasn't sleeping) in cold sweat at night from a story idea and grabbed a paper I found and wrote on it the OC name that came to me in a vision but only now I started thinking about her more and finally fucking designed her so here's my Jedi Master OC and her three Padawans (and everything I have to say about them) if you want to see them
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(mouth on the first one came out weird, ignore that) Bliz Karse she/her (Karse pronounced Kuh-rs, not sure about Bliz yet) -Ky Narec's best friend! her main story point lmao. They were partners most of their life, from the crèche to knighthood up until Ky ended up on Rattatak. -Theelin -Qui-Gon's and Ky's age - born circa 80 BBY -Lives up to TCW, probably dies in Order 66 (haven't gotten there yet) -Ky and her are really close friends and like half the temple's padawans gossip about them dating. They aren't together. -Her master is Burryaga from The High Republic! Was thinking about a Master for her and he just fit idk -She's short -Ky and her go around the galaxy as Jedi explorers. They're both aspiring Wayseekers, striving to be independent from the council and help wherever they can (this gets serious for Bliz after Ky crashed on Rattatak) -She takes her padawans everywhere so a lot of times people think they're Ky and hers' children -um idk I think she's aroace?
Tumblr media
Padawan I - Sevo Zash They/them -Mirialan (purple!) -I drew them as a Padawan but they're like, older than Obi-Wan. -Bliz took them on not long after her knighting -They love Ky -I need to develop them more (gave them a name like an hour ago and came up with the design this afternoon, I don't know them yet) -Survives Order 66 but is killed by an inquisitor not long after
Tumblr media
Padawan II - Nyyra Xor She/her -Falleen (green, naturally) -NOT AURRA but love me some almost bald characters with a pnytail at the top of their head and no eyebrows -I should make a timeline for Bliz but she's like, in her late 20s/early 30s by the Clone Wars -She thinks Ky is annoying but was still Bliz's Padawan when he crushed on Rattatak (that adds up, right?) so she came to miss him after a while -a big fan of annoying the fuck out of Bliz. She also doesn't like traveling as much as the others so she ended up with the worst possible master in that regard -Sevo sees her as their little sister, I feel like all 3 Padawans are kinda siblings in that way -Oldest sibling energy, doomed to be a middle child -Wants to be on the council. Dies in Order 66.
Tumblr media
Padawan III - Arck Kyvett she/him -Tholothian (no idea how to draw their head-tendrils but I think I did a decent job) -DIES (killed by Asajj) - her main story point is dying. That's where I started, with Asajj being sent to kill Ky's childhood friend's padawan by Dooku and then Bliz came to me -Bliz took him on 2-3 years before the Clone Wars, and he died very quickly (Asajj's first Jedi kill, maybe even before the Clone Wars started) -I wanted to give all of them some sort of Padawan braid, so Arck gets beads on one of his tendrils, I think that can work -Youngest sibling energy, if she didn't die she'd also become the favorite child (Nyyra and Sevo love her dw) -The Ky in her name is the first thing Asajj hears when Bliz refers to her. Wanted to call her Ky originally but felt this would do instead
Woooo building OC lore is fun I should do it more Talked a lot about Ky but never drew him once in my life. Let's ignore that.

So, how I characterise Sebastian Moran (CW: mentions of physical/emotional abuse, [attempted] sexual assault/rape, human and animal death. Just mentions, no proper descriptions or anything though)
He is someone who after everything he has been through does find it very difficult to trust anyone and it's very difficult to gain his loyalty but once you have gained his trust and loyalty that's almost unshakeable. He is fiercely loyal to Moriarty and trusts him implicitly, because Moriarty has always treated him with the right level of respect and affection. And he does love Moriarty, genuinely and very deeply.
He does have a troubled past, having been essentially rejected by his father (and I think his grandfather as well. There's a whole thing in that family where each generation basically traumatises the next one and then his father and grandfather kind of ganged up on Sebastian). He is, effectively, an only child because his other legitimate siblings died (he probably has other half-siblings elsewhere but since Augustus would never have actually acknowledged those Sebastian wouldn't know them either). Augustus does resent Sebastian further because he, despite being kind of a sickly child who was almost born dead, was the one who survived while the son he doted on (because he was basically a clone of his dad in name, looks and even down to his bullying and cruel behaviour) managed to accidentally kill himself when he was a child. Also I think Sebastian resembles his mother more than his father and Augustus has more than once tried to claim Sebastian isn't even his child, claiming that his mother was unfaithful (she wasn't, and Sebastian does still resemble his father too just not in the same way as his brother did).
His father was emotionally and physically abusive towards Sebastian and made most of his home life just as unhappy as his school life, and I mean I think this was well beyond the usual 'strict Victorian upbringing'. Moran therefore despises his father (and grandfather) but he truly loved his mother, who always nurtured and tried to protect him, and he knows about at least some of the abuse she also suffered at his father's hands. Unfortunately she died when he was a boy and as he was expected to be very ~stoic~ he's never really been properly allowed to grieve for her. His mother is however the main reason he does have a lot of decency in him and is partly why he hates bullies and abusers (and rapists).
Even though it did get him away from his father he loathed school and was frequently punished there because he played up too much and never fitted in, and he was mistreated and bullied mercilessly by older boys mostly, until he snapped and came close to killing one of them, something for which he was again punished which further cemented in him a resentment for authority because he was victimised and he was essentially punished for standing up for himself. He ran away from school multiple times and spent time hanging about with various street children, though he was always aware he never actually fully belonged with them either because of his 'posh' background.
He is intelligent, extremely so, he's just not Moriarty's level of genius and he hates both the academic environment and a lot of the subject matter he was expected to learn. His intelligence is more practical than Moriarty's; he is able to work things out and solve practical problems in the heat of the moment; he's good with his hands; he can even work out fairly complex things like how to take the perfect shot in the most difficult situations allowing for things like wind speed and distance etc but it's almost something he can do instinctively and if you tried to put him in a classroom and get him to do the same thing and show how he does it he couldn't do it and some people probably do think he is 'stupid' because he couldn't do that and he would end up losing his temper over that even.
(I'm going to have to put the rest of this behind a cut, it got long)
He joined the army not for any noble reasons or to 'continue the family tradition' but because he simply didn't know what else to do and didn't think he was good enough at anything else. That he ended up in the Indian army rather than the British army itself is also suggestive of him not actually feeling any kind of loyalty towards what is supposedly 'his' country or ever feeling like he was a part of British society. He was loyal to his regiment and his men but he never gave a shit about the British empire and came to increasingly see the absurdity of British colonialism and the British government's willingness to sacrifice men, even boys, on a battlefield thousands of miles away, in countries the queen never even visited. He was a brave soldier and would willingly fight alongside his men and was respected by them. He repeatedly risked his life to try to save others. But he was forced to resign from the army because he didn't really fit in and he hated the way other British officers would try to preserve all the British traditions and separate themselves from the 'natives' in India or in Afghanistan; he also slept around rather too much and was not really picky about the gender, ethnicity or class of his partners, and those above him were really just looking for an excuse to kick him out because they feared he had gone too 'native' and some of his other proclivities would bring shame on them all. He gave them that excuse when he came close to killing another officer, though it was hushed up on condition that he leave the army and India because of the primary reason Moran nearly killed that other officer (who had tried to sexually assault him).
He's not a sniper or an assassin as such, he was just always an excellent marksman and his skill with guns is one of the reasons Moriarty employed him, but not the only one. He has acted as Moriarty's chief of staff too not just as an assassin for him because he has always been better at organising things than Moriarty is. But he also can act as everything from Moriarty's secretary to his valet to his bodyguard (and his lover of course). He does I think realistically come to consider himself to be essentially married to Moriarty (and in the modern day absolutely would get married to him as soon as Moriarty asked him to marry him).
Moran actually loves animals. He is not a hunter of animals because he hates them and he is not the kind of person who just wants to kill anything that moves or who kills anything and everything for fun. He does not kill animals indiscriminately and he abhors any kind of torturing of or other deliberate mistreatment of animals including those who shoot animals but only injure them and then leave them to suffer and die a lingering death. When he kills something he makes sure it's as quick and clean as possible, partly because to do otherwise is cruel and partly because it's a matter of pride and he'd be ashamed if he really mucked up a shot. He has killed wild animals for food and he has also killed animals like tigers because they are regarded essentially as 'pests' when they come into conflict with humans, but he also knows that most man-eating tigers are ones that are already ill or injured or elderly and that often killing them as quickly as possible is the kindest thing to do anyway. He does see himself reflected in tigers, in their generally solitary natures for instance, and he does love them in his own way, and there have been plenty of times where he could have killed one but let it go unharmed. If he is put into the modern day this is why I don't think he'd still be killing tigers and he would never be a tiger poacher, he'd be far more likely to be a hunter of tiger poachers. He has also stepped in more than once to stop other people harming an animal and I think the reason he pursued a wounded tiger that time was because someone else had injured it and he was trying to put it out of its misery because he didn't want it to suffer.
He does love dogs and he especially loves horses I think and has formed strong bonds with very 'difficult' horses, the kind who have a terrible reputation and are considered dangerous and untameable even. I think he did empathise very strongly with the horses owned by his father when he was young - horses which had also been abused by Augustus. He's also the kind of person who is very calm and very patient with animals and does try to understand them and their body language. He always praises and pets his horses and talks kindly to them; he pets dogs and cats he meets in the street. I do think it's funny though to imagine he's afraid of birds, though I do see him once getting drunk enough to impulse buy some lovebirds for Moriarty. I think he has also sometimes had to kill horses though to stop their suffering, when they'd been horrifically injured in battle for instance, something which has further added to his (mostly repressed) trauma.
As well as his brilliant marksmanship I think he's very good at tracking and following people, using skills he gained as a big game hunter, even in an urban environment. I think Holmes's remark about how when he follows someone they see no-one definitely applies to Moran too.
He is very very patient, when it comes to waiting about to take the perfect shot or something like that. Or even during sex, people often expect him to be quite pushy but he just isn't. He will wait as long as it takes for someone to be comfortable with having sex with him or with doing a particular sex act or whatever, and he needs to know he has consent when it comes to sex and he will always respect consent being withdrawn.
Mostly it does take a lot to provoke him into losing his cool because he is so patient. It is often only abuse or mistreatment of animals or of vulnerable people that will provoke him to violence. He is rather misanthropic overall but that doesn't mean he doesn't care and I think he has lost his temper and hit people he caught violently beating a horse or a dog or something like that, as well as totally losing it with those who have tried to sexually assault him or he has found out have sexually assaulted someone else. It is very difficult to cow or force him into submission - doing so is far more likely to make him rebel, even though him rebelling has often ended up with him being hurt more. He does have this rather perverse instinct, the 'imp of the perverse' thing, to play up the more people try to push him down, or to answer them back or wind them up in some other way - he can't help himself, nor can he help himself cheating at cards even when he doesn't need to.
He can get restless sometimes, when he feels like he has nothing to do. If he's waiting for a very specific thing that he has control over then he can wait patiently but if he's forced to wait for something that's out of his hands or out of his control he will tend to pace about or fidget with things. Sometimes he does have to make things to do to occupy himself, even if it's some 'menial' task like polishing shoes or something, or cleaning his guns even when they're not dirty, and I think he also tends to have insomnia sometimes. I think he picked up knitting as a way to keep himself occupied and he still does that when he can't sleep often although he doesn't necessarily always pay attention to what he's actually knitting so he ends up with these epically long scarves and things. Also sometimes he has bad nightmares when he does sleep, especially soon after he returns to England. He is very traumatised both by his upbringing and by war and by certain other horrors he has witnessed, but he will try to hide that. Although when he gets closer to Moriarty and they become more and more intimate and he starts to share a bed with him I think Moran's nightmares do become less and less frequent because he finally gets some stability and security in his life, he finally feels safe.
He can be genuinely courteous and sometimes very kind, especially to children and to people like servants and prostitutes and the homeless, the people that many would overlook or ignore, one because being courteous or kind to them is just right anyway and two because he understands these people that do get overlooked often can be very useful to him (and Moriarty). And he is very protective of Moriarty. He would give his life without thinking about it to protect Moriarty, though he'd still risk his life to try to save others too - it's just an instinctive reaction almost - and I think that is why he was considered an 'honourable soldier' before he was made to retire, because whatever else he did he looked after 'his' men.
He is not someone who tends to get deeply attached to people or things or places though, or at least he tries not to get attached. He's had too many things - toys, friendships, even pets - destroyed or got rid of by his father, then he's seen men from his regiment die in front of him, and until he meets Moriarty I don't think he's really ever had anywhere he regarded as 'home', everywhere else was just a place he had to live. Really he is scared to get attached to anyone or anything because he's terrified of losing them. But despite that I think he was very attached to his horses in India and was quietly devastated to have to leave them behind when he came to England. But he doesn't have many possessions - I think he surprises even Moriarty with how little he actually has, and even most of the things he does have seem to be purely practical things like his battered old watch, or things he doesn't actually care about at all, like his medals.
He is bisexual and has a high sex drive and, at least before he meets Moriarty and commits to him, he is very promiscuous. But he's always been pretty honest about that promiscuity, he has not led people on into thinking he's giving them anything more and I think the majority of those he has slept with still regard him affectionately. Despite that promiscuity and him never really having had a proper committed 'relationship' before, he is loyal to Moriarty in every way and he genuinely does love him very deeply. He would never betray him. And some people do mistake him for quite a 'cold' person, they think he must be 'cold-blooded', but he is a very passionate person really, he can be very emotional, and his love for Moriarty is very passionate, very intense.
He is also a very skilful sexual partner who has been having sex since he was in his early teens and can be quite sexually adventurous and he has never been ashamed of his sexual history or his sexuality not even when his father caught him in a sexual act with another boy when he was young (and badly beat him for it). In fact the more people told him that he was wrong and 'sinful' the more he rebelled against them and the more brazen he became. His same gender relations were a sort of open secret in India (and I'm certain some of those who got him kicked out of the army were men he had slept with previously). Though he isn't really comfortable being an actual Dom he has usually been the more dominant partner or the top in most of his past sexual relationships, mostly because he doesn't really trust most people enough to do it any other way. But really he is more of a submissive and a bottom. And he is of course rather kinky with a strong masochistic streak in him, though he will frequently be quite a cocky little shit even when he's being submissive.
He has had a great deal of sex with partners of all genders but has rarely ever actually 'fallen in love'. He is someone though who when he does fall in love falls very hard, and he is more likely to fall very hard for a man than for a woman, probably because deep down I think he does still crave a sort of benevolent father figure in his life. But he does adore women and is probably much more likely to make friends with women than he is with other men.
He is not what anyone really expects of an 'old soldier' I think - he does not walk or carry himself like a soldier is expected to; he is not an extrovert and he is not someone who actually enjoys social events and regaling people with war stories or hunting anecdotes, although he has written a couple of books on the subject of course. If he ever does do that sort of thing, being the 'life and soul of the party', then he's acting, playing a part for some reason, it is not the real him. I do think he is, like Moriarty, neurodivergent; the whole 'aloof and guarded' thing about the two of them definitely implies neurodivergence to me as well as that both of them are introverts, though Moran is better at organising and dealing with people than Moriarty is and he has learned how to read people better, at least when it comes to certain behaviours. Moran isn't the kind of person though who is prone to trying to make small talk. I think one of the reasons he gets on so well with Moriarty is because he doesn't feel a need to try to fill the space between them with inane conversation, he only talks when he's actually got something to say. He is quite a taciturn person and this I think can lead some people to grossly underestimate him, assuming he's either 'stupid' or harmless but he's neither of course. I also don't think he's someone who's that physically imposing - he's someone who blends in and can camouflage himself effectively, hiding in plain sight almost. A lot of that 'camouflage' can involve things like switching his accent and mannerisms and the way he walks and things like that. And he is multilingual and can pick up other languages pretty quickly, though he's not so good at reading them usually but he can pick up enough to understand and talk in them quite quickly.
He can be very charming and though he does have a lot of insecurities and self-doubt at times he is generally very cocksure, very self-assured. He does let Moriarty dominate him (I don't mean just sexually, though there is that too) because he does function at his best when he's got someone in overall control of him but he can go off by himself to carry out tasks and solve any issues or problems that arise by himself and Moriarty trusts him to do that; he knows Moran does need that overall control but that he can then go off and carry out his orders without needing Moriarty to 'hold his hand' all the time. Moran does have his moments of thinking he's worthless and useless compared to Moriarty though but on the whole he knows he's in Moriarty's shadow, he knows he'll usually only be thought of in connection to Moriarty, but he's happy that way because he knows Moriarty does respect him and trust him.
Moran is technically quite upper class, but he doesn't belong there and has never fitted in and he has rejected that; he hates the government and the aristocracy and the monarchy; he hates most religion and has rejected that too. He has always been conscious I think of not quite fitting in anywhere - too much Irish blood even though he's English by birth (and I tend to think his mother was not Irish or British. For some reason I lean towards her being Scandinavian); too queer (and totally unashamed about that); too prone to failing to hide his contempt for the monarchy and the government and the British empire; too prone too to talking in a 'common' accent that he picked up from street children and the lower class soldiers (though I'm sure he often does that deliberately to wind up his father in particular). And he has always thought that he's better than most of the upper classes. And he is someone who is very much 'outside the box', not a lot really phases him and he is very accepting of people who are different to him and the people he is 'supposed' to treat as inferior or be bigoted towards - it is those 'upper class twits' that he hates, not poor people or brown people or whatever other group he's expected to hate/it's 'trendy' to hate. In part that's because he is himself an outsider or an outcast in some ways, in part that's just because he is a rebel, he does rebel against his father, his class, the army, the British empire even. It's in his nature to rebel, even when it's not in his best interests to do so.
He is not totally amoral. He does have that predatory aspect to him and he can be very very dangerous sometimes and his sense of morality may be questionable at times and he is absolutely capable of killing people and not feeling bad about that but he has his own sense of what is right and wrong and mostly it's just that a lot of that doesn't really tend to line up with what the law or society says is right or wrong, and he will stand up for his own beliefs in what is right or wrong. Even Moriarty couldn't force Moran to murder a child for instance (not that he has ever tried to get Moran to do that). Plus like Moriarty I think Moran is very keenly aware of the double standards of society and how there is often one rule for the rich and another for the poor and so on. He is not some sort of """psychopathic killer""" without any empathy, without compassion even. I think it's almost the opposite really - sometimes he almost feels too much, and sometimes that has pushed him to close himself off further. He can be hot-tempered at times and certain things can provoke him. Or he can become very withdrawn sometimes instead, especially when he is hurting about something. He is someone who is used to not giving away when he is hurt, like an animal, though like an animal too sometimes he can lash out violently when he feels trapped or cornered. He does practically have a phobia of being physically trapped and a particular loathing for doctors and for being rendered helpless (such as with drugs/sedation for example). And he still hates putting his back to windows or doorways, or to most people, though something about how up front Moriarty was with him practically from the start about his criminal nature and how essentially Moran cannot leave his employment alive made Moran trust him more, not less, maybe because he's always felt that gave him some structure and stability and because too from the start almost he's seen both facets of Moriarty, the mathematics professor and the criminal genius, which not many people ever do get to see. He's never been afraid of Moriarty though, only afraid of anything bad ever happening to the him or of him losing interest in him sooner or later because Moran isn't as 'clever' or 'intellectual' or whatever as Moriarty.
He does have self-destructive tendencies and I think if Moriarty hadn't sought him out and employed him when he did then Moran would have ended up killing himself through drink or by getting into fights with people, because when he returned to England he was very lost and adrift and felt he had nothing much to live for and I don't think he would have deliberately committed suicide but with no real structure in his life then he was not really looking after himself; sooner or later he would have got himself killed one way or another, and I think he does realise Moriarty saved his life and gave his life meaning then.
He does have a lot of contempt for Sherlock Holmes though he respects him and he knows how dangerous an opponent Holmes can be - he has never underestimated him though he has sometimes thought that the Professor doesn't fully understand how dangerous Holmes could be to them. He likely can see the similarities between himself and Watson (and it's certainly plausible he actually met Watson in Afghanistan) as well as the similarities between Moriarty and Holmes, but I think Moran does also have certain things in common with Holmes as well. I think Moran and Holmes do fascinate each other, in a very antagonistic (and sometimes homoerotic) way, leading to their odd interaction in The Empty House and Holmes's refusal to get Moran arrested for trying to murder him. I definitely see Moran encountering Holmes multiple times prior to The Final Problem because Holmes does intrigue him. It's not a love-hate relationship but more like fascination-hate between them and the idea of 'seducing Holmes over to the dark side' (maybe even literally seducing him over) and of reminding Holmes how easily he too can cross that line into being a criminal does amuse Moran.
Overall I think Moran is a very complex character who is widely underestimated and frequently overlooked which in a way does fit him perfectly, because he is the person who can conceal himself in plain sight, like a tiger blending into the shadows of a forest. And he's not 'evil', he's not 'good', he's this blend of characteristics and traits that would be deemed 'evil' maybe, like his capacity for killing, but also ones that are 'good', like his intense loyalty.
I just really love him OK.

im almost exclusively focusing on haven's first life because that's the plot of the section im writing right now, but that does mean im neglecting the reincarnation aspect of his character...
so the rules there are that he always gets his memories back by the time he's 25, the age he met witchwraith, but they can start showing up earlier if they're tripped off by something or if he otherwise wouldn't survive without an adult skillset. he always remembers his first life clearly, and the rest about on pace with the passage of time (so like, he's got most of his immediate last life, the one before that's a bit foggier, etc).
anyway this means he has distinct memories of having multiple siblings who had a large impact on his life and dead parents, and is consistently thrown for a loop when this isn't the case.
his second life he's an only child with fully unknown parents, raised by one woman who didn't really have any interest in children. he got his memories back early bc otherwise it would have Gone Very Badly, and focuses on getting back to witchwraith and not on how incredibly wrong it feels to be isolated like this.
in his third go around he has an older sister and a younger brother + was raised by his biological parents in a stable household. he's very clingy towards all of them, and is a bit anxious about them not liking his partners due to the whole "visibly not human" thing. (it goes fine)
his fourth body isn't actually human and wasn't raised in a culture that had any analogues there and he feels weird about it the entire time. it isn't bad or anything, he's fine, but he'll occasionally get hit with "i don't know what a mom is but i miss her. i also don't know what a 'her' is. help."
his fifth go around he's an only child again (still weird, still has moments of intense "wait fuck i haven't seen my little brother all day is he okay- oh. wait." even before he gets his memories back fully), and his parents didn't actually want children and should have gotten divorced when he was like 3. he spends a lot of time being intensely frustrated and hurt that the three of them don't get along and that there's nothing he can do to fix that.
his sixth life he's a clone who shouldn't have survived in the first place, and considering the conditions of the lab he's in it's probably for the best he doesn't have any family. he'll be upset about that later, but he has more pressing concerns at the minute.
those are all of the ones i have fully drafted out- for kindness' sake, i think he should have some with a lot of siblings and parents that don't suck, through it winds up being a weird blend of feeling like this is how it should be, and knowing that the details here are all wrong, because they're never quite the same people he expects them to be.

PLEASE tell me about your Robin headcanons, I'm so curious now.
oh beans i didn't expect a response to my meme! (i mean, it has happened before but my answer was a bit undercooked) normally i'd say my headcanons are cringe and try not to talk about them but THIS TIME i am excited to indulge, mainly to have them written down on my art page :> this may end up being a long boy answer lol
(as a brief preamble, i've pretty much been building off of these robin headcanons since like, middle school or so (at least 5 years) for my smash fanfiction. while the amount of Stuff i've imagined for them might make them a bit different from their original characters, the context of awakening is what prevents me from turning them into full-on oc's)
anyway. i'm not responsible for any damages this may induce. the actual hcs will be under the cut
Both of them
so to start out, both the female and male variants are separate entities rather than like, alternate dimension counterparts. in fact, they're siblings (reeaally starting a bit out there i know). for reference, the girl (younger of the two) is named reflect (a misreading of the japanese name i grew attached to. it is what it is) while the boy is just robin. this is why i usually try drawing them with different clothes so they don't look like clones of each other lol. i like to think some aspects like the shirt and the black robe and tall brown boots are staples of the "tactician" uniform to explain any similarities.
neither have amnesia (since i just.. don't like the trope that much + i wanted to have them remember and reflect on their upbringing y'know). robin is actually a regular, normal blooded dude (which is why i don't really depict him in an evil grima-possessed form). reflect on the other hand did have grima's blood, which tipped off the grimleal in hopes to resurrect grima. however, much like the original awakening story, reflect's mama took her away out of fear of what the grimleal would do to her in pursuit of their goals. due to circumstances that i haven't fully figured out yet, robin was left behind and was raised by daddy dearest validar. reflect was raised by her mama and unaware of the grimleal or that she even had a brother/father at all.
Tumblr media
a fairly old but still good ref of their differences. i definitely took a lot of liberties with reflect obviously (i REALLLLY like robin's original design, main reason why i got so attached to the character, so i kept it pretty true to the original with some details i dont like redrawing sanded off). a lot of design elements developed over the years and came from various sources.
(strap thingies on the side were based on cipher art, stockings are based on heroes art of f!morgan, cloak is partially inspired by the grandmaster design (albeit heavily simplified), shorts... i just thought looked cool, blah blah)
ok enough rambling, time to ramble about them individually
Robin
if it wasn't clear by how i'd often draw robin with a tired/exhausted look on his face, he isn't exactly the most high-energy guy :p he's jaded and sometimes a bit of an asshole to people he doesn't know. pretty unapproachable generally. i hope the fact he was raised by validar would explain why. i imagine validar was particularly bitter about the grima vessel slipping out of his grasp and took some of that out on his remaining child.
his strict upbringing helped him become very proficient in tactics and magic as expected... but also a bit reclusive and not much of a people person. he'd travel around after being sick of validar's shit, which is how he crosses paths with chrom. chrom basically takes him in and lets him work as a tactician for the shepherds, which is an act that causes robin to become very attached and loyal to chrom. i'd say he's an established member for a few years before the events of awakening.
he's kind of unathletic (very skinny bastard) and probably has redditor posture (inspired by how slow of a runner he is in smash bros). magic is much more his "asset" ;) his sword game is mid if he's not wielding the levin sword.
he remains single to the end of awakening's campaign, but historians note he was "really good friends" with chrom (he is attracted to men lol. specifically chrom. but then chrom gets married which complicates things 🥴).
Reflect
in comparison to her male counterpart, she's much more free-spirited and bubbly. she's chill and great at making friends, a bit more accurate to the original. she was also raised to be a tactician, though she is comparatively still a novice. still, she's a quick and enthusiastic learner. i also imagine her to be kind of a risky thrill-seeker.
when she leaves her small community to explore the world, she comes across the burning village in awakening's first chapter, which is how she crosses paths with chrom. she joins his gang to further her learning as a tactician and to make some friends yeeaa!! (i haven't written as much about her as i make mrobin 😛)
she later marries chrom and becomes the mother of lucina.
I sometimes draw her with red hair tied in a black bow-- that's related to some non-fe fanfic stuff that is too convoluted and cringe for this already lengthy and cringe post. but it's an alternate look for her i think is kind of cute 😊
~~~
hopefully that's a sufficient enough answer, my brain always gets really scattered whenever i have to elaborate my robin hcs to someone else. i get a bit self-concious about them because i think i'm so far off-base with their original characters (but can't oc-ify them with some elements being based in the world/story of awakening) that i'll become like. public enemy of the greater robin community. but i know that's a bit ridiculous, so i let loose here as a means to get these many thoughts somewhere on my art page as a reference for when i draw these fellas in the future :)
there's also the separate tangent of their offspring, the morgans (or morgan being the girl, and marc being the boy) but this post is long enough as is so i'll just leave it there :,)
This has probably been said before, but here I go anyway. I was just watching CinemaWins's Everything Great About Attack of the Clones and had a thought on Obi Wan and Anakin's dynamic. (By the way, I haven't seen the animated series yet (I'm working on it, I promise), so I am just going off the films and the Obi Wan series.) In the CinemaWin's video it's mentioned that Obi Wan isn't the best teacher to Anakin and in many ways fails him. And while that's true, I think it's also important to kind of examine what roles Obi Wan and Anakin take on. It's not just Master and Padiwan, it's very much a sibling relationship. Obi Wan calls Anakin his brother in Revenge of the Sith and in Phantom Menace Qui Gon can be seen as a kind of father figure to both Obi Wan and Anakin. After Qui Gon dies, that responsibility is put on Obi Wan, someone who has only recently become a Jedi master. The whole situation feels very much like an older sibling suddenly becoming responsible for their younger sibling and having the responsibility of parenting, or in this case mentoring, suddenly thrust upon them. Obi Wan wasn't fully ready for that responsibility, he isn't quite sure of what he's doing, and he makes a lot of mistakes in the process. Also, there are elements of sibling rivalry or classic sibling squabbles that seem inappropriate for a parent/child or master/apprentice dynamic. But they aren't quite parent/child or master/apprentice really, they're dynamic is much more older/younger brother. So holding Obi Wan to the same standards as Qui Gon doesn't feel quite right. Obi Wan himself is still learning (not to say that parents/mentors aren't still learning themselves, but there is a level of wisdom that comes with age and experience). I think that is part of what makes the Obi Wan and Anakin relationship so heart wrenching is that they loved each other and yet both were put into roles that neither of them quite knew how to handle. Obi Wan didn't know quite how to parent/train Anakin because that was never meant to be his role and, though he tried his best, he didn't quite know how to help. Meanwhile, Anakin had this great power and yet was really just desperate for love and approval, something Obi Wan wasn't always great at showing. But it's not so simple as saying Obi Wan failed Anakin or Anakin betrayed Obi Wan. Both were just trying their best to navigate responsibilities that had been thrust upon them. And it also makes it clear why Obi Wan is so dutiful in his protection of Luke and Leia, because not only does he take on the responsibility of watching out for them, he is still in many ways upholding the one placed on him by Qui Gon. It's just now he is more prepared to do so.
Hey sweets!
Can I ask for a mistletoe match-up? 🌿🍒
Bayverse turtles or Dark Turtles AU, your choice!
My hobbies include writing (of course 😜) and reading, hiking and exploring new places, and cooking. I love to travel and meet new people.
I’m an extroverted introvert (😆) and I have really good intuition typically. I’m the oldest child but I was also raised separated from my siblings so I have a bit of only child syndrome too lol. I’m a fierce mama bear, seriously, the school system here fears me because I advocate strongly for my children. I’m loyal but I don’t take no shit. I’m a big believer in: if you be nice to me, I be nice to you.
Curious who you match me with! Love ya! 😘
Hmmm... I know Raph's your man, so I'm gonna go with my AU Dark Turtles.
You'd be matched up with... Dark Raph
Possible matches: Dark Donnie
It was actually a tie between Dark Don or Dark Raph, and I hate breaking ties >×< you can have both if you want but for this match up its Red x3
Raph, evil clone of Raphael, fell in love with you
In the past couple of years that hes known you, from kidnapping you and secretly talking to you before being rescued, he felt something with you
He felt insecure whenever he was around you because he felt like such a horrible monster
You assured him that he wasn't and that was it
He wanted to be near you
Have you to himself
He just wanted you
Little did he know that he was developing romantic feelings for you
And that was hard to talk to you like he wanted with a tension between his brothers and their good twins
When the turtles and the dark clones formed a truce to defeat Krang and his plans to destroy Earth, he fought side by side with you
Even on the battlefield he couldn't keep his golden-greenish eyes off of you
Shortly after that he told you that he liked you
And sometime after that, hugs and cuddles were shared
And then kisses
Passionate, heated kisses
You taught him love and what it was
In return, he wanted to do something for you for this Christmas
Christmas Eve, at your place, underneath a mistletoe he spoke his heart
"I wanted to tell you that I want to spend Christmas with you, but..."
He paused for a bit
"I want to spend more than a whole day with you."
"I want to spend whatever time I have with you, every single minute"
His giant crimson three fingered hand cradled the whole left side of your face
"Are you saying that you want a wedding ceremony?"
"Whatever it takes, if it means we'll always be together"
He picked you up bridal style and kissed you softly, carefully, like he always did
You were his, and he was yours
😈🐢❤💖👩
Hope you like your match 👉😈🐢❤👈
The concept of Miranda creating Evelins and then destroying them over and over again, because they don't fit that perfect image of her deceased daughter.
Even though that image was blured and distorted years ago into unachievable perfection, that real Eva has nothing to do with.
Taking this as a general concept, I fucking love it. Like Miranda being so driven by grief for her daughter, and by the time Eveline exists Miranda's idea of who Eva really was is so distorted. Eva was just a kid, a dumb kid who was barely a preteen when she died, who wasn't perfect, but it's been so long Miranda's grown this idea that Eva was some angelic child that these clones just can't manage to achieve. She gives them a chance, some last longer than others, but she continues to create and destroy them because they're never good enough. They never will be. They don't even know the perfection Miranda wants them to recreate. (Because of course she won't tell them they're clones.)
And GOD imagine the potential of Eveline realizing that. Discovering some pit of decaying bodies and rotten clothing from her previous "siblings", the horrifying realization that there were others, over a century's worth, if not more, and Miranda fucking killed them and threw them away like trash. And that sinking feeling as Miranda approaches her from behind and gives a little "It's a shame, really, I liked you the best." because Miranda knows Eveline won't just go along with this.
And of course Eveline fucking books it out of there, narrowly escaping the lab and just running off into the Village as a sobbing mess. She doesn't know where she's going but she has to go somewhere.
