What’s the texture like? If you hold down a sharpie in a certain spot for long enough, the ink will flow out, and you could just do it in dots, and then just spread it out or try going over it?

The bottoms of the Lakais I tried are a bunch of dots which I should've realized wouldn't have worked anyway

The bottoms of the boat shoes are smooth with like, ripples in them

so I'm pretty sure the white-out-ink stuff will apply fine

Actually the issue was with the texture of the sole on the shoes I used

but a white-out pen on the black soles on my boat shoes
