so i was thinking abt an old ask from kae-and-the-lost-dragons to thecrusadercomrade about an amphibia au idea, and here we are.

basically its an au where the trio used to be best friends, but kinda fell apart before they got sent to amphibia, where they try to reconnect & become friends again. was thinking of calling it maybe like Falling out au or reconnect au. still working on it

anyways time to use it to project onto marcy an unhealthy amount

so im thinking that the calamity trio were all still friends at some point when they were really young. marcy & anne still met first, but their friendship wasnt as strong as canon bc marcy was rly insecure & didnt open up as much to anne. the trio was together for a little bit, but marcy kind of drifted from them soon enough & stopped hanging out.

for whatever reason this time around, marcy just didnt click as well with anne, but he was also just rly insecure abt their friendship. they didnt think that they were doing much for their friendship, and marcy figured that anne probably didnt even wanna be his friend anyway. so they kind of just left before anne could leave them.

meanwhile anne & sasha still become best friends, however it’s a lot more strained without marcy as a buffer of sorts. it was fine at first when they were younger, but as they grew they fell harder into their toxic patterns. sasha was a lot more controlling of anne, and anne didnt have much else to do but comply. anne would still do things that sasha told her to do and take the blame, but she couldnt really justify it to herself as much.

eventually it all just piled up too much and anne couldnt take it anymore. a few weeks or so before anne’s birthday the two have a huge fight (maybe abt the time they snook onto the roof??). anne’s had enough, and decides to break off from sasha, much to her disbelief. anne tries to avoid him afterwards, but sashas pretty deep in denial. at least at first. she tries to convince anne to come back for like a week or so, but eventually he realizes its not working.

so leading up to finding the calamity box, anne & sash are just being angry & bitter exe girl- best friends, meanwhile marcys just kind of a loner. that one super smart loner kid. anne n sash also start fighting a lot, since sasha refuses to give up on getting anne back while anne is having none of that shit.

soon enough annes birthday rolls around, and it’s… fine. though the next day she and sash get in a huge fight in school. sash is angry at anne for not letting her wish her happy birthday and anne is fed up with all of it. it gets rly heated, the two of them are basically screaming at each other. but no one expects marcy to jump up from their seat and yell at them to “SHUT THE HELL UP!”

all three of them get sent to detention, much to anne n marcys dismay. the whole time all three of them are super tense. eventually sash has had enough of it and decides to just leave, and somehow convinces anne n marcy to join her (not like theres anything better to do).

they wander around town for a bit when sasha offers to “make it up” to anne by doing something fun (read: commit crimes) for her birthday. anne, of course, declines, but marcy pipes up by mentioning a music box he saw in an antique store nearby.

then everything plays out like canon, and the three get sent to amphibia.

i havent rly thought out how things would go down once they all made it to amphibia. it would all mostly play out the same in the beginning, but idk. sashas motivations would change a bit bc shes not rly doing everything for her friends. marcy would get a lot more attached to andrias and newtopia, and might even go along with his plan more willingly… though, id imagine marcy would have a lot more guilt abt unwillingly bringing anne n sash w him to amphibia. the reunions will definitely be more tense

and uh yeah thats what ive got so far. again, the main premise came from kae-and-the-lost-dragons. im just expanding on it bc i thought it was cool. if i find the post i’ll link it here.
