#yellowjackets#phantom of the opera#I’m also kind of obsessed with that choice#was it a purely Doylistic one where that was the version of the overture that was most accessible or least expensive?#did it blend better with the sound design of the scene and the dialogue? was it mixed more professionally?#am I supposed to think that Misty has the correct opinion that the 2004 movie’s larger orchestra makes the instrumentals POP in that film#am I supposed to believe she likes the 2004 film???#the fact that she goes from 2004 to Michael Crawford is nuts#I’m assuming it’s Crawford I actually usually listen to the Canadian cast recording from 1992 if I want a studio recording#so I’m not really as immediately familiar with his voice#it’s not any of my faves and I feel like Misty wouldn’t like Hugh Panaro#but yeah this specific choice haunts me#she’s old enough to be a snob!! what gives???
