Isis and Osiris AU where Yudrein is exiled from Orr and spends centuries collecting the pieces of Kishiar la Orr's corpus. Each shard of bone and piece of flesh is a journey - some of them have been consumed by the ground, and Yudrein spends years sifting dirt by hand to be sure he will not damage a piece he knows is buried somewhere in his vicinity. Some, Yudrein carves out of the carcasses of monsters. Some, Yudrein must stalk for decades, for they appear inside a young child that swallowed their food without chewing, and now he will wait so he may dig up their grave and desecrate their body for the crime of housing a piece of the sun. Yudrein dives into the ocean and spends so long underwater that he forgets how to breathe as a mortal should, because the food chain of fish to fish to shark to fish is hard to track, and harder to preserve on extraction. He stumbles back onto land with a pouch of fragments that he thinks should make up all of Kishiar la Orr's left hand, lungs clenching against air too precious to breathe, and returns home once he remembers how to walk. He sorts out bone from skin from vascular tubing and muscle and cartilage, and pieces the sun's hand back together with sinews he tears from his own legs, because he will not need to stand until this much is done anyway.

For the final touch, he carves himself open and extracts from his own stomach the whole and unharmed heart Yudrein was ordered to cut out of the sun himself and consume under the watchful gaze of the new emperor, Katchian la Orr, as proof of victory. It has beat inside him with every breath, since all those centuries ago. He slides it reverently inside the sun's chest and breathes back into Kishiar la Orr the life he stole.
