Rebel Admirals Rex & Kalani from an au where the clone and droid rebellions were a bit more successful
Rex's fleet (rebel fleet Remembrance) - the whole 'ahsoka's not actually a jedi' thing worked and most of the 332nd got dechipped. (maul still escaped, but they managed to patch up the maul-damage before he got to the hyperdrive, so the Tribunal is mostly okay). the extra resources & manpower allowed the clone rebellion to operate on a much larger scale, and they eventually allied with pantora as a whole with the backing of senator chuchi. cody and later wolffe brought their imperial fleets to join the rebellion about a year later (after the chips started wearing off).
the fleet (one venator (the Tribunal), four star destroyers, associated clones, gunships, fighters, and tanks, plus a handful of stolen imperial walkers and shuttles) formally joined the rebel alliance around 10bby.
(rex got put in charge of the fleet because he's the least traumatized out of all the surviving officers. cody ran off to live with obi wan on tattooine.)
Kalani's fleet (rebel fleet Independence) - something happened and he and kraken managed to steal a chunk of dooku's ships (and later a good chunk of whatever was left of grievous' fleet on utapau) after his death. they essentially got lost in the chaos of o66, since the rest of the separatists thought they were deactivated after the shutdown order, and escaped with essentially a full separatist fleet. since they were active instead of stuck on agamar, kalani noticed that the leader of the empire happened to be the republic's supreme chancellor, and decided the empire was the new target of the CIS army. he later encountered the clone rebellion and decided that since the clones had effectively deserted the republic and were now fighting the empire, they were therefore allies.
the fleet (one dreadnought, three cruisers, one stolen imperial carrier, associated droids, fighters, transports, and tanks) formally allied with the rebel alliance around 10bby, with the backing of serenno and raxus secundus.
#star wars#au#redbean art#admirals au#captain rex#general kalani#rex's rank continues to be weird because now he is an admiral (because the fleet was rather lacking in officers who were not#dead (most of them); imperial (anakin; yularen); or too traumatized to deal with more losses (cody; wolffe)#but he still does regular missions w torrent just under a fancier title#but now because they have an entire fleet they can jailbreak entire battallions at once instead of only being able to grab the stragglers#one of the star destroyers has a mass dechipping facility#preprogrammed so all you have to do is load the next set of clones into the surgery machine thing and press the start button#and then wheel them out and load the next set in while you wait for the first ones to wake up#so basically the clone rebellion is yoinking whole imperial clone legions#meanwhile since the droids were pretty much abandoned#kalanis fleet spent the first few years after the war running around the galaxy grabbing all unattended separatist vehicles#kalani has determined via st-droid logic that#since sidious is the chancellor of the republic (and therefore a traitor)#dooku; grievous; and trench are dead and most of the other separatist leaders were forcibly integrated into the empire#that makes him (the last surviving/active separatist general) the new supreme commander of the separatists#so now he has decided to continue the attack on the republic-which-is-now-the-empire#anyways he has some of the more remote/smaller droid factories up and running in the outer rim#all the clones who dont want to keep fighting get funneled to one of the clone bases via tbb#also rex has created a brand new clone pension fund via stolen imperial credits#because anakin never changed his passwords when he became vader and rex broke into his bank account#kalani has access to most of the separatist funds bc they assumed a tactical droid wouldn't try to steal anything and it was faster that wa#so the clone and droid rebellions are both funded via the empire forgetting to change passwords in the o66-chaos#palpatines going to have a stroke at this point lol#*both* of his supposed-to-be-non-sentient armies are now invading imperial coruscant together

see, the thing about Hidan is he is presented as kind of a one note character. Funny murder man who yells a lot and screams about his death cult. Fantastic. Love that for him.
but the other thing about Hidan is that the akatsuki is almost* entirely composed of people who were fucked over by the system in some way, so if he was JUST a funny murder man, he would be an outlier. (*zetsu does NOT count)
and the other other thing about Hidan is that Jashinism is explicitly about shared suffering. Hidan feels all of it. Hidan revels in all of it. Hidan believes that the bond of suffering is where humans truly understand one another on a fundamental level. He's not just killing and sacrificing people, he's sacrificing himself. He just gets back up.
And given that Pein & Konan's goals as the akatsuki are to crush the world with war the same way that Ame was crushed by war, and Yugakure went from a shinobi village to a hot springs town, implying they lost so much manpower that they literally couldn't function with a ninja-based economy anymore... hey, Hidan? What suffering have you experienced, that you want to share with others?
I want to understand you, Hidan.

What do you think would have happend with Jace if he had survived the Dance?
oh this is fun, thanks for the question!
survived as in everything happens the same except jace survived the gullet? i won't get into mechanics of this happening because i'd involve too many moving parts and what ifs and blatant avoidance of certain parts. so whatever. let's say daemon and aemond kill each other, aegon kills rhaenyra and imprisons baela and baby aegon.
two things:
1) if jace is in dragonstone, let's say recuperating from his injuries, in reality i don't think aegon would kill him just like he didn't kill rhaenyra's heir at the moment. jace might be too injured to truly pose a threat or aegon's advisors would "protect" him like they did baela.
2) jace is not in dragonstone. he could be healthy or injured but he's not there when aegon takes the island for some reason. i've read fic where he's with the northern/riverlands army or makes his way to the capital alone after aegon's dead. in any case, he reaches the capital at some point.
when the greens are neutralized and all the heads turn to rhaenyra's children, it's probable that the support would be split between the older, seasoned prince of dubious birth and the young, unresponsive prince of clear ancestry. the things is while a regency happened in canon i don't think anybody wanted to do that. the issues lingering needed to be solved NOW, the armies needed to be disbanded NOW, alicent and jaehaera needed to be secured NOW. even if jace is physically injured or abed at this moment, i think he would get the clear support of the biggest faction aka the riverlands, the vale, and the north. on the other side, he's corlys' grandson, he was a dragonrider (let's assume the dragon still died sowwy), he's commanded armies, and if he married baela that moment, he could be having an heir by the next year. the succession and therefore the kingdom, is stable.
i'm not saying there wouldn't be people vying for baby aegon's ascension just to be against jace perceived bastardy now or down the line but it's more likely that he gets more support to get the crown and just end the war once and for all.
so jace takes the crown immediately. i don't think the hour of the wolf happens at all, most of the attributions cregan takes for himself came from intimidating baby aegon and probs by being the highest ranking lord in a place where everybody was burning incriminating papers from the last reign lmao. i think he would be a lot more aligned with corlys in sending peace terms first, but would not hesitate if the rest of the kingdom didn't fall in line. as for aegon ii's advisors, to me jace would try to get them out quietly. stay for a bit but sending them home as soon as he could. corlys betrayed the blacks, jace would probably marry baela as a reward for past services (and bc he loves her obviously etc) and dismiss him to driftmark. thanks to jace, corlys has his legitimate heir in alyn, he's more than okay.
for people like larys, the ironrod, orwyle and tyland....... they were aegon's closest advisors and while i don't think jace would imprison them or kill them i think he'd test them in some way to prove they can change their loyalty and move on. after a few months or years when the transition smooths out, i would bet jace will be dismissing them for lords who are 100% on his side. i'd say all would do it because at least in the show i don't see them supporting the greens out of personal reasons, not enough to die for the memory of aegon OR jaehaera's claim, you know? and in any case, it /is/ a man that is ruling now lmao lol. i still see jasper wylde pushing his daughter to baby aegon if jace is not available anymore, tho.
jace wouldn't kill alicent or jaehaera either. i think the death of so many people and most of all, his brothers, would affect him very much. at this point alicent is described as mad and jaehaera is a traumatized child. he wouldn't send them to oldtown or keep them together all the time but i don't think he would be cruel (as for jaehaera's future, well, that's another story). they are his family after all and most of the threats are neutralized (hello alys hiiii i'm such a fan).
i can speculate on jace's mental state and say that while he would not shut himself out like baby aegon did, he wouldn't be the same at all. his drive to be the best version of himself would still be there of course, this is what will make him push himself to take control of the situation. but at the same time, i don't think he will want to be as much as a people pleaser as he is in canon. people will be vying for his favor, for baby aegon's hand, for rhaena's but to me, he will make the family close into themselves. during the war he learned to take command of his people, he has the presence and the confidence to say no now, he also has the crown and the symbols. that's half the battle done.

I'm not going to lie the whole Grey Warden plot with Alistair in Inquisition bothers me so much because I don't think it makes any sense for Clarel to get away with branding him a traitor in my worldstate. It's never outright stated, but since he's said to be the senior-most Warden after coming back from the fade and with the Orlesian Warden-Commander dead outranks every Grey Warden in the fortress my assumption has always been that he's not just "a Hero of the Fifth Blight", but has a high position in the Fereldan branch of the order to go with it. Hero of Ferelden still signs their letter as Warden-Commander and with a romanced Alistair the whole thing gives off a really strong second-in-command vibes so like?? Clarel playing dictator with all southern Grey Wardens and immediately going after the only high ranking Warden capable of opposing her when he disagrees with her plan of action is absolutely insane. I know that times of crisis and all, but damn.
There are really few things in Dragon Age that make me go "Yeah, no. We gotta rewrite that", but this is definitely one of them. I'm not saying I'd get rid of the whole thing, but at least make Clarel's situation less... oh poor Warden-Commander was being manipulated. She was, but in my humble opinion if she didn't get all tyrannical and allowed any kind of discussion things would not get that far. Her fuck up goes beyond just poor judgement and inability to think critically under pressure.

An out there Tremere headcanon I have and will try to articulate despite being bad at it:
Each tremere (that has been introduced proper inside the chantry but sometimes also in the Sabbat when they want to be cheeky) have scarification of magical symbols on their skin. This is to symbolize their ‘role’ inside the chantry and what their sire wanted from them. This is usually made during the embrace. Usually the more elaborate the drawing is the more it shows how much effort you put into this. Being both a testament to the sires skill and the childes importance. If you have a simple symbol it could probably mean that your sire didn’t really much care for you, thinks you’re simple or can’t fucking draw.
I think since the tremere are not ‘real’ vampires (as in they were made by a magical ritual) I would like to keep that aspect and say that there is a whole process involved in making a tremere. Rather than just making one like every other vampire. You cannot make them accidentally, every one of them is a deliberate and planned act.
As such I have one vamp who has the ‘magnum opus’ and ‘hand of the philosopher’ carved into them. And one with ‘the crucified serpent‘ on their back.

i won’t apologize for being a hater. seeing comments on chappell roans posts about being too hypersexual and needing to dial it down (mmm dial what down. say it very explicitly to me. what is making you uncomfortable in your own very clear words) and directly contrasting it with renee rapp just made me not like that girl even more i’m sorry! maybe she should try not being an annoying blonde bi girl who only seems to hang out with other blonde bi girls making mediocre pop. whoops

yuna? receives a soft forehead kiss from dion. she works so hard.
yuna has not given it much thought — by it we mean herself; how can one be so absorbed to leave all of this & more behind? perhaps, an after thought. days have slipped away with a certain amount of tasks on her sleeves, yet her arm has always been interlinked with dion's through all. even when they both had to part ways, prestablished plans requiring they attend to their own duties without the presence of the other, she would bid him goodbye with a hopeful curve of her lips, and he would gift her the strength necessary to continue the making of her path with a simple knowing gaze. ( are you sure? never have i been more before. ) somehow, they had learned to make out a secret language that only had meaning along their lines; if old yevon's maesters were to know such a thing was in place in the walls of bevelle, that two of the most influential figures at present would giggle behind the absurdity of old traditions, what would they say? after all, they have been regarded as unworthy already — him with his good heart, kinder than his maker.
in truth, yuna prefers to leave that in the past, where it might rightfully belong. would dion understand? he was there, in and out of it, only catching scorches of each other when fate would allow it, yet she cannot forget. today, she sits next to dion and dares not look back ( then when his hand was kind, healing of something he had not broken ). they sit close, as trusted allies do, careful of each other's attention, yet busy with tackling yet another task that requires their undivided attention. it's a matter of simply doing, to keep on going even while the body requires rest. she's tired and he can tell, can't he? does it show in the lines of her features as she looks at him now? or perhaps the weak laughter that barely fills the air, hoping for it to be enough — sometimes she forgets there is no need for false ceremonies in his presence, for they are learning each other's nature, understanding.
in these times dion has often proved to be a guiding light — mismatched eyes join with ambral ones and a sense of relief washes over as the fabric of memories threads together, although painfully. she could remember the piercing gaze in her dreaming, appointed a traitor by someone before him, yet unmistakebly close in the distance to him. their stances could have not been more different now and it makes it easier on her heart; his unwavering loyalty through times has proven healing. an amusing thought comes crossing her mind now with his inquisitive look directed at her: at times she has wished for him to have been her guardian, back in her fateful demise. the days are long gone now, a high summoner holds his arm, but if days were still numbered, she could see herself search for him.
( i didn't quite know what to say then, i have a lot of regrets about that. )
she's wiser now, the weight of the world shifting its stance on her shoulders — he holds her by them now, and it feels like atlas could bear this eternal penance. her head redirects its weight now, long hair ending on his shoulder, her tired mind finding shelter along the sharp line, and the silence holds them like a kindness. all is far and away for now and yuna basks in the tenderness of his compassion. there is something she wishes to say, something she must let him know ( empathy, devotion ); her lips part but every word seems to fall short when his lips touch the skin of her forehead. she could break underneath any moment and so could he, both in each other's grasp; yet they persist. yuna lets it happen to her — the kindess of his warmth, the fire of his simpathy. lids come together, restlessness disappearing at once, feeling everything at once. was she deserving? must the savior be always so damned? must the curse of being known be so heavy on them? fingers curl around his forearm through their interlinked arms, tightening in silence. this can mean everything — do not leave my side. do not let me fall to my disgrace. guide me in darkness. hold my temper. let me be your hand.
the silence lingers and history must continue its course. they know this. they've known this for a long time.

“Nico. Lucci.”
He’d known it was coming, but that knowledge doesn’t make hearing Robin say his name in that tone any less terrifying.
Slowly turning on his heel, Lucci looks at his sister, who stands with her arms crossed, eyebrows raised and lips pursed. He knows that look. Despite only being with her until they were eight, he’s caused that expression more times than he cares to count.
That is Robin’s ‘explain now or I start yelling for mom and you get to explain it to her and die’ expression. He hasn’t earned it since their reunion.
The fact that their mother has been dead for twenty years really doesn’t negate the effectiveness of it. That just means that Robin will skip straight to murdering him.
have a post-marineford snippet
