This is a sea turtle painting made mostly by Joseph @pourhousejoe who uses acrylic pouring to create cells, texture, and shapes within the paint that I couldn't have made with a paintbrush. A mixture of water, paint, and Floetrol are made for each color, then, all colors are added into one cup in a strategic order with colors placed next to their complimentary colors. Joseph and I 'talk' to the paint and canvas and tell it what we want it to look like, in this case a 'silver pearlescent shell, sea turtle' and the paint is poured on the canvas. He leans the canvas slightly left, then a hard right, then towards his chest; sculpting the randomness of a cup of watery paint into a beautiful shell. I come in after three days of drying to create details of eyes and neck and shell; a true collaboration! As a couple we experience life, love, work, and respect, on a spiritual level, and it shows in the artwork... To Titus, Warrior of Childhood Cancer who passed January 2020, you will forever be in our hearts. We've sent your painting to your mother for Mother's Day, the painting title says it all; "Reincarnation" is what we picked. She doesn't know what the entire painting looks like, and neither does anyone else. We're waiting for her to open it first. I wrapped this painting for her and wrote Happy Mothers day on the paper... Be there when she opens it to hug her right.
