The key advantage of opting for custom warehouse solutions is the flexibility that comes with it. At Hiranandani Industrial Parks, you get the freedom to choose exactly what you need, regardless of whether it is the need for additional square footage for product storage or its requirement for dedicated areas for your packaging and fulfilment services.
A proposition that should entice every business looking to rent a warehouse should be scalability. Objectives And Functions Of Supply Chain Management
Tumblr media
In order to maximise quality, customer satisfaction, and profitability, the whole manufacturing flow of products and services is managed through supply chain management. It encompasses everything, from the delivery of the finished product to clients. We'll look at the goals and duties of supply chain management in this post. Even in the cold chain logistics using supply chain there are multiple objectives and functions. The following are the objectives of Supply Chain Management:
To Increase the Total Value Created
The success of the supply chain increases with increasing SCM profitability. The profitability of the supply chain is the difference between the price a consumer pays for a product and what it costs an organization to make and deliver that product to the client.
Improvement in Price and Quality
This is another crucial SCM goal. Cost-quality optimization and balancing are the goals.
Finding sources of cost and income
The only source of income is from the customer. As a result, the movement of information, goods, or money should be properly managed. It is essential to the supply chain's success.
Delivery Improvement
The SCM attempts to satisfy the customer's requests for assured delivery of high quality goods at competitive prices and with short lead times. In addition, SCM reduces the time needed for ordering and fulfilling seeks to speed up the process.
Demand Satisfaction
Managing demand and supply is an important yet difficult responsibility for a business or management staff. Its goal is to satisfy consumer demand with effective resources.
Better Utilisation Of Resources
It is another objective of the supply chain management to make better utilisation of the available resources and reduce the cost of the operations. This results in safeguarding the just in time supply while also improving the delivery reliability at the same time. Furthermore, supply chain management is an integral part of the process. The importance of supply chain management can be explained by ensuring customer satisfaction by ensuring right delivery times and pepper sale support.

(NEWARK, Calif.) — Striking Amazon delivery drivers and dispatchers from Palmdale, Calif., extended their picket line to a Bay Area warehouse (OAK5/OAK7) today, to demand the e-commerce giant stop its unfair labor practices. The growing strike will continue until Amazon reinstates the unlawfully terminated Palmdale employees, recognizes the Teamsters, respects the contract negotiated by the workers, and bargains with the Teamsters Union to address low pay and dangerous working conditions. “It is getting hotter and hotter, but Amazon makes us deliver packages in vans without working A/C and limits how much water we can take,” said Cecilia Porter, a Palmdale Amazon driver who traveled to Newark. “We are on strike to stop Amazon’s unfair labor practices and hold the company accountable for the safety and livelihood of its workers.” Amazon drivers and dispatchers began their unfair labor practice strike at an Amazon delivery station in Palmdale, Calif., on June 24. They have picketed 10 Amazon warehouses around the country during their month-long strike, including facilities in California, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Michigan, and Georgia.

Unexpected Delivery
There had been many changes when their father returned home. Some were new, some were the old status quo reasserting itself.
As Jeff had taken over the daily running of Tracy Industries and the paperwork associated with International Rescue, Scott had managed to take back some of his old duties on the Island.
One of those was unpacking the supplies Virgil regularly brought back from the mainland.
First was the perishables: foods, some of Brains’ more exotic experimental materials, whatever-the-hell it was that Gordon was ordering in to assist in rehabilitating their surrounding sea-scape. Personal deliveries came second, portioning out the mail orders; of which a not-insignificant portion was personal food stocks – Grandma still couldn’t be dissuaded from cooking, even though everyone now had more time to contribute to kitchen duties. Third was domestic consumables: toilet paper, light bulbs, cleaning supplies, and personal grooming and hygiene products – including so much deodorant. And then maintenance supplies; raw materials for production of the custom parts necessary for the maintenance of the Thunderbirds, parts for maintenance for the Villa and auxiliary buildings.
It was a comfortable routine, and one that Scott enjoyed, especially dealing with the maintenance supplies. Checking the packing slip against their internal register of projected deliveries, using the pallet-bot to deposit the large crates and bins at the appropriate areas, before unpacking the individual crates, confirming the itemised stock within, and storing them in the appropriate locations, as he updated the warehousing inventory.
It was a simple – and satisfying – job.
Today there was an extra crate. A large roughly square crate, one and one half to two metres in every dimension and solidly built. Scott frowned at it. There was no sender’s ident, and the anonymous holographic label implanted in the rough-hewn, tightly-spaced wooden slats simply read ‘International Rescue’.
Nothing was unaccounted for on the projected deliveries. There was nothing left over from previous runs, nothing on back order.
Scott checked Virgil’s collection register. This package had been collected from their mail facility at Tracy Industries Headquarters, the security assessment on this crate was attached. Nothing untoward. No radiation, no explosive compounds, no biological matter …
Thunderbird Two’s pod sensors hadn’t detected a threat, either.
“What is it?”
Scott started, jumping as the Mechanic materialised beside him, looking between Scott and the crate curiously.
A slight hesitation – he still hadn’t fully overcome his distrust of the other man, nor had the Mechanic suddenly taken a liking to him – and he explained the situation.
“Only one way to find out. If all the scans are clear.”
Scott waved his tablet at the man, who, after a second, took it, and considered the record trail. He handed the tablet back, and summoned two of his ‘scorpion’ mechas to the crate.
“Better blow them up, than us, if your scans are wrong,” was the response to Scott’s raised eyebrow.
Scott agreed without hesitation. The crate was in a secure section of the hangars, there was no danger to any of their equipment – they had learnt that the hard way, soon after Jeff had … gone on sabbatical. The two men backed off a respectful distance, and watched as the two machines surged forward, powerful pinchers forcing themselves under the lid and prising it up, before skittering around the crate to settle either side of it, like guardians.
The back of the lid was hinged, and a holographic sign projected against the rough and splintery wood. ‘A gift. From a friend.’
The two men approached cautiously. And stared in shock at what lay on the straw at the bottom of the crate.
The Hood, bound hand and foot – hands behind his back – lay half curled with in the space. His naked body bruised and bloody, the slight rise and fall of his chest the only sign the man was alive.
Scott Tracy – Commander of International Rescue, First Responder, Qualified Paramedic, and Survivor of a POW Camp – swallowed his bile as he took in the sight of the bloody and weeping bandage around the man’s head that ineffectively protected what he knew would be the bloody and empty socket where the cybernetic eye had been.
Mutely Scott and the Mechanic stared at each other, both searching for answers the other didn’t have.
How were they ever going to explain this?

Febuwhump Day 21 “Unresponsive”.
Whoops. I totally missed posting this one on the date. Other important dates I have missed include my mothers, and my niece's birthdays. Oh well, off to the dog house!
The standard disclaimers, I do not own Thunderbirds, either the Original Series, the Movies (both Supermarionation and Live Action), or the Thunderbirds Are Go Series. (Although I do own copies on DVD.)
I do not do this for money, but for my own (in)sanity and entertainment.

The Simblr Office- Doris Pratt
Can we talk about Doris for a bit?
Tumblr media
Doris (to be pronounced 'Daahris'- she's from Boston) has been around for as long as anyone at the office can remember.
No one is quite sure which department she reports to. Is it Accounting? Purchasing? Something with Warehousing? NO ONE KNOWS! Last HR stiff that tried to sort it out gave up eventually because Doris gets whatever she does DONE and everyone likes it that way.
Did your purchasing request get lost in the pipeline? Is your work order being ignored? Are you having a crappy day? Go to the first floor, to the little office next to the emergency exit facing the parking lot, and talk to Doris. She'll take care of it; have some coffee while you wait and don't worry about it, hon.
Tumblr media
Her office is a mess, but she knows where everything is.
People send her postcards and gift her souvenir tchotchkes from their vacations.
Has been wearing Jean Naté since the 1980s.
The head honchos from upper management often stop by for coffee (Dunkin Donuts medium roast original blend) and a chat.
Knows everyone who works in Facilities by name and gets periodic updates about their partners/kids/pets/potted plants.
Makes a wicked buffalo mac n' cheese recipe for the end-of-year potluck. You gotta get in line quick before it's gone.
Tumblr media
For @kashisun's super fun The Simblr Office thingie.

I've been thinking about this since I've been getting back into skyjacks and because I work at a lighthouse but. How exactly do lighthouses work in Speir? Given that in our world, they have to be tall enough/on high enough ground to be seen from the water and all the ships fly, are they looking for lights on the ground for harbors? What about lights that warn for dangerous areas, as there can be weird weather phenomena in the air, would there be any need/ability to have lights to warn away from there, or just ones that usher you into the harbor. Do they even have fresnel lenses? Those weren't invented until the early 19th century and it took a while for them to be widely implemented in our world but Speir has magic so would a lens even be needed to power a light? I'm just a curious lighthouse interpreter so it's perfectly fine if you don't know
The answer is most lighthouses were built pre-fall. They used to serve the normal function.
These days keepers are on the lookout for The Mariner. They use the light to count ships and alert the coast of an attack.
The light situation for skydocks is something I have paid less attention to. For the remaining costal cities they might have found a way to make use of light houses. They were for the most part trying to preserve existing maritime districts. The warehousing and unloading facilities would be too convenient and useful to replace. Especially with limited resources to begin with. Then momentum would have carried most places to just make use of whatever was there because everyone was just building up and planting deeper roots.
I can absolutely guarantee there are fresnel lenses being used! Those are probably what a lot of the guidelites on the ship are taking advantage of. And docks probably have them to guide ships in for night landings. They are just too cool not to use!

Brazil: Disability Plan Should End Warehousing
Plan should focus on independence, not institutionalization
Tumblr media
The Brazilian government, in its upcoming plan for people with disabilities, should set out concrete plans for deinstitutionalization, Human Rights Watch said today. The plan, to be released in October 2023, is a timely opportunity to create a system that would enable people with disabilities to live independently in the community.
Thousands of people with disabilities in Brazil live in institutions or inclusive residences – small group homes for up to 10 people with disabilities – under prison-like conditions, new research by Human Rights Watch confirms. The Brazilian federal government’s second disability policy plan, Viver sem Limites II(“Living Without Limits II”), does not currently address their situation, according to interviews with officials in charge of implementing the plan, despite its emphasis on human dignity, ending discrimination, and confronting the barriers to full citizen participation.
“In Brazil, many people with disabilities are forced to live in institutions because the government has failed to provide adequate support for community living,” said Carlos Ríos-Espinosa, associate disability rights director at Human Rights Watch. “Now that Brazil is reintroducing its plan for the rights of people with disabilities, it has a critical opportunity to address the harm of being warehoused in institutions and institution-like facilities.”
