Karvanista & The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos
Swap the space train in the opening for Karvanista, Bel & Vinder's makeshift family, transporting the cargo on behalf of the Coalition of Galaxies from The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos. Karvanista recognises when the Cybermasters regenerate.
Bel: Being boarded by Cybermen once was more than enough, thank you very much.
When 13 sends Dan to stop the ship crashing he gets to spar with Karvanista again
Dan: Hello, Muttley my son. It's been a while
Karvanista: Just what I need. Leave, you'll only make everything worse-
Dan: Rubbish, I just need to wave my space wand and-
[the ship accelerates]
Karvanista: Space wand'? Bloody useless! In my day she didn't need that rubbish.
Dan: Eh?
He is still bitter- he doesn't want to be saved by 13 and when she fails to stop the Cybermasters he rips into her.

13: You're working for the Coalition of Galaxies now? Why?
Karvanista: Because two-thirds of the universe got destroyed and then suddenly reappeared after weeks of chaos. They need all the help they can get, and you certainly weren't offering, were you?
Karvanista has a heart-to-heart with Dan after his near-death experience, encouraging him to leave 13 before she leaves him, or before he has some unresolvable trauma. A moment of closure for their relationship.
Afterwards, Yaz asks why Karvanista was so angry. 13 finally opens up to her about her history, some character progression at the end of her era.
13: We used to travel together. When I was Ruth. Remember her?
Yaz: Of course.
13: We were... sort of time spies together. For Division.
Yaz: The people who sent the Weeping Angels after you?
13: And the Judoon after Ruth. But my memory of that time was taken and I don't want it back. I want to focus on now. On our moment. On you. And Dan-
Dan, from the doors:: You don't have to come back for me.
13, closing her eyes. Taking a steadying breath: Oh. OK.
13 REPLACES DAN'S HOUSE because leaving him homeless feels careless and callous.
13: I get it. Life's important. Home's important. Speaking of...
[She produces Dan's miniaturised house on a little metal disc]
13: Just press the button and this should take care of itself. That, or you'll be transported to the moon. Worth a shot though, eh?
Dan: You just had that in your pocket ready to go?
13: I knew you'd ask to go back eventually, Dan. When you did... I didn't want to be holding you hostage.
Replace the being of pure energy with the young Ux from The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos, who went on to travel the universe. The Master uses him to construct his cyber-planet like Tim Shaw did. By saving them again 13 comes full circle from her first series.

Once they've discovered the Ux hooked up to the cyber-planet, 13 calls Karvanista & co. Karavanista comes alone. When he crashes he reports in to Mark Addy’s character from Ranskoor, who appears via video screen. He promised the Ux he would keep them safe

Karvanista recognises the TARDIS exterior, and that it's been perverted- it brings back bad memories.
The Master & Nikola Tesla
Ra-Ra-Rasputin is a great moment, but I’d swap the Master taking over the Winter Palace for him taking over Wardencliff, the power station from Nikola Tesla’s Night of Terror, in the weeks before it shut down. The Master took advantage of Tesla’s desperation with an offer to fund him. Then he hypnotises Tesla into helping him build the cages that will force 13 to regenerate.
The Master kills Miss Skeritt
Getting 13’s favourite historical figure to build the thing that kills her is a huge personal blow. The Master rubs in 13’s face that by ‘abandoning’ Tesla and allowing history to happen as it should, she let this happen.

(This would require the missing paintings plotpoint to be cut- instead Ace could be investigating a sudden acceleration in Earth's technology, which she traces back to a now hyper-successful Nikola Tesla in the 1920s)
The Master-Doctor
The traitor Dalek is the last surviving mutant from Revolution of the Daleks, justifying why it wants the ‘original’ Daleks dead
Instead of trapping 13 in a Dalek casing, use one of Chibnall’s best gimmicks- a Dalek mutant that puppeteers her
When the Master becomes the Doctor, insert a scene of him causing a jailbreak, blowing a hole in the side of the Judoon prison 13 was held in in Revolution of the Daleks. An Angel abducts a Judoon through the flickering lights, the P'Ting eats one of the guard's guns.
Master: This is payback for locking me up. [to the escaping prisoners] when you're out there spreading chaos through the uuniverse, tell them the Doctor sent you!

Then, the twin planets he visits are the ones from Can You Hear Me?- Yaz watches helplessly as the Master summons the two evil gods from their universe and encourages them 'play' with the planets. They agree, and then the war begins.

The Master brings the hypnotised Tesla along as a 'companion' to restrain Yaz
Fugitive Doctor Resolution
Karvanista is the one to threaten & shoot the Master. He also comes face-to-face with the Fugitive, his Doctor.
As 13 leaves the mindscape with the Guardians of the Edge, the Fugitive apears and says she's glad she could help save 13 from the same fate that befell her
After 13 has been saved, Karvanista and the Fugitive hologram have a heart-to-heart like 5 & 7 do with Ace & Tegan, giving him closure & resolving his bitterness.
THASMIN KISS immediately after Yaz saves 13, when her guard is down in her post-regeneration haze, overcome with joy. This makes the ending more tragic, but 13 doesn't look cruel like she would for initiating that intimacy when she knows she's dying, opening a door she knows she can't go through
When they meet Graham again, instead of saying 'She's still not explaining anything, then?' he notes how much more open 13 is and is happy for Yaz.
After being freed from the Master's hypnotism, Tesla joins them in the TARDIS and helps 13 rebuild Karvanista's ship.
Thasmin & Demons of the Punjab
THASMIN HUG GODDAMN IT. 13 removes the hologram implant from Yaz, but then gifts it back to her as she leaves- the same projector she had in Survivors of the Flux. She says "This is us, forever. Our moment in time.", calling back to the watch from Demons of the Punjab

Yaz: I'm not sure I can do this without you. You helped me.. helped me learn who I am-
13: And now you know. You don't need me, Yaz. I needed you in the end. Look at everything you did today, on your own. You saved me. Just- carry me with you, if you can. Just do that. What I would've thought and said and done. Make that a part of you. That way... I might be going now, but I'll never be gone from you, eh?

When Dan arrives he is with Diane
The Thijarian Assassins from Demons of the Punjab are seen in the background throughout the episode, like the Ood in the buildup to The End of Time, and they exchange a look of understanding with her as she regenerates

writing down my vision of karhide:
-bowls of tundra/steppe plain rimmed by cold volcanic mountain range, ehrenrang is hewn into the range and extends out into the passing river
-mountains themselves are closer to fuji or the altai range than the lotr Big Detailed Dwarf Mountain standard. very curvy and peaceful looking
-lots of people just go with “uhhh pseudo alien Inuit” design for getherians. Fuck that. Large-form brick blocks of buildings, hearths/islands, almost Russian constructivist design. Chimneys are the most obvious feature from roof level and each island’s looks different. For interiors Think town-on-Ghorkan but much more colorful. Primary colors are reddish pink and deep greens. lots of stained glass which reflects well in the snow. Streets are paved with ornate winding patterns. Heated electric Monorails overhead carry in a huge loop
-drab mortar colors offset by immense levels of street art, large multi-building murals that reference fire, ice, historical events, old kings, etc etc. l imagine a very specific one of harmes and erman embracing on estrevans’ abode. Designs are flat but highly colorful and resemble inuit printmaking like mom used to collect. sex and pregnancy are common images but actual erotic art is far more emotional
-technology level and popular art style is very close to early 20th century. Radio towers and wardencliff-Esque power towers everywhere. lots of random wood scaffolding and brick ruin. gardens are mostly sand.
- the ice sheets and volcanic plains are depicted as black, green, blue, anything except white

I loved the original Goosebumps and so I was excited when the opportunity to review Goosebumps 2 came about as a featured influencer with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. This movie is also based off of the book series by R.L. Stine. When this film started developing the plot, I was a little concerned by seeing almost a totally new batch of characters, but the story holds up well. In this film, two teens, Sonny and his friend, Sam, start a garbage cleanup business in an attempt find treasure in their hometown of Wardencliffe, NY. They get their first job to clean out an abandoned house with the camera panning to the word "Stine" by the door. The boys find a secret room with a chest which happens to contain a locked manuscript. The boys unlock the manuscript and discover a ventriloquist dummy has appeared in the room with them. If you saw the original film, I think you know who this character is... Sonny and Sam then find a small piece of paper in the dummy's jacket pocket and recite the incantation. Well friends, Slappy is back! Slappy wants to be part of Sonny's family and will stop at nothing to get his way. Trying to stand in Slappy’s way is a terrifyingly talented cast including Wendi McLendon-Covey (The Goldbergs), Madison Iseman (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle), Jeremy Ray Taylor (It), Caleel Harris (Castle Rock), and Chris Parnell (Rick and Morty), with Ken Jeong (Crazy Rich Asians). Goosebumps 2 is great for the entire family. It has a run time of approximately 120 minutes and is rated PG for scary creature action and images, some thematic elements, rude humor and language. The only thing I was still missing at the end of the film was Invisible Boy. With how the first film ended, I thought for sure he would make at least an appearance in Goosebumps 2. There are parts missing from his notes which apparently were still in his head or possibly confiscated when the govt took all his paperwork after he died, so rebuilding Wardencliff (which is supposed to be happening) may not bring the benefits of the project as imagined. I really hope it can be figured out and it does work…mankind deserves the benefit of Tesla’s dream realized so mankind can advance beyond what the current system will allow due to profit making moguls who care not for mankind but only making more money.

“The idea was to put the coil, with reference to the primary, in an inductive connection which was not close—we call it now a loose coupling—but free to permit a great resonant rise. That was the first single step, as I say, toward the evolution of an invention which I have called my “Magnifying Transmitter.” That means, a circuit connected to ground and to the antenna, of a tremendous electromagnetic momentum and small damping factor, with all the conditions so determined that an immense accumulation of electrical energy can take place…

“I mean that you have to have in the circuit, inertia. You have to have a large self-inductance in order that you may accomplish two things: First, a comparatively low frequency, which will reduce the radiation of the electromagnetic waves to a comparatively small value, and second, a great resonant effect. That is not possible in an antenna, for instance, of large capacity and small self-inductance. A large capacity and small self-inductance is the poorest kind of circuit which can be constructed; it gives a very small resonant effect. That was the reason why in my experiments in Colorado the energies were 1,000 times greater than in the present antennae.

"You say the energy was 1,000 times greater. Do you mean that the voltage was increased, or the current, or both?”
Tesla:
“Yes, both. To be more explicit, I take a very large self-inductance and a comparatively small capacity, which I have constructed in a certain way so that the electricity cannot leak out. I thus obtain a low frequency; but, as you know, the electromagnetic radiation is proportionate to the square root of the capacity divided by the self-induction. I do not permit the energy to go out; I accumulate in that circuit a tremendous energy. When the high potential is attained, if I want to give off electromagnetic waves, I do so, but I prefer to reduce those waves in quantity and pass a current into the earth, because electromagnetic wave energy is not recoverable while the earth current is entirely recoverable, being the energy stored in an elastic system.“

"What elastic system do you refer to?”
Tesla:
“I mean this: If you pass a current into a circuit with large self-induction, and no radiation takes place, and you have a low resistance, there is no possibility of this energy getting out into space; therefore, the impressed impulses accumulate.”
Legal Counsel:
“Let’s see if I understand this correctly. If you have radiation or electromagnetic waves going from your system, the energy is wasted?”
Tesla:
“Absolutely wasted. From my circuit you can get either electromagnetic waves, 90 percent of electromagnetic waves if you like, and 10 percent in the current energy that passes through the earth. Or, you can reverse the process and get 10 percent of the energy in electromagnetic waves and 90 percent in energy of the current that passes through the earth.

“It is just like this: I have invented a knife. The knife can cut with the sharp edge. I tell the man who applies my invention, you must cut with the sharp edge. I know perfectly well you can cut butter with the blunt edge, but my knife is not intended for this. You must not make the antenna give off 90 percent in electromagnetic and 10 percent in current waves, because the electromagnetic waves are lost by the time you are a few arcs around the planet, while the current travels to the uttermost distance of the globe and can be recovered.
“This view, by the way, is now confirmed.  Note, for instance, the mathematical treatise of Sommerfeld, [*] who shows that my theory is correct, that I was right in my explanations of the phenomena, and that the profession was completely misled. This is the reason why these followers of mine in high frequency currents have made a mistake. They wanted to make high frequency alternators of 200,000 cycles with the idea that they would produce electromagnetic waves, 90 percent in electromagnetic waves and the rest in current energy. I only used low alternations, and I produced 90 percent in current energy and only 10 percent in electromagnetic waves, which are wasted, and that is why I got my results.“

He divided the expression for the resulting field into "space wave” and “surface wave” components. The surface wave part had nearly identical properties to a unique plane surface wave solution to James Clark Maxwell’s equations that had been identified by Jonathon Zenneck two years previously. The field amplitudes varied inversely as the square root of the horizontal distance from the source and decayed exponentially with height above the interface. “Oh, that is hardly true; I am speaking as a matter of principle. You never can get all the energy, because there is no such thing as a perfect apparatus.”

“I did not mean it in that sense. I understand that there is, of course, always some loss, but my conception was that when you created a disturbance in the commercial condition of the earth at your transmitting station, that that extended out in all radial directions.”
Tesla:
“Yes, it did.”
Legal Counsel:
“And therefore how, at any given station, can you get more than a small fraction of that energy?”
Tesla:
“Pardon me you are mistaken… In my first efforts, of course I simply contemplated to disturb effectively the earth, sufficiently to operate instruments. Well, you know you must first learn how to walk before you can fly. As I perfected my apparatus, I saw clearly that I can recover, of that energy which goes in all directions, a large amount, for the simple reason that in the system i have devised, one that current got into the earth it had no chance of escaping, because my frequency was low; hence, the electromagnetic radiation was low. The potential, the electric potential, is like temperature. We might as well call potential electric potential. The earth is a vast body. The potential differences in the earth are small, radiation is very small. Therefore, I’d I pass my current into the earth, the energy of the current is stored there as electromagnetic momentum of the vibrations and is not consumed until I put a reciever at a distance, when it will begin to draw the energy and it will go to that point and nowhere else.”

“Why is that, on your theory?”
Tesla:
“I will explain it by an analogue.
"Suppose that the earth were an elastic bag filled with water. My transmitter is equivalent to a pump. I put it on a point of the globe, and work my little piston so as to create a disturbance of that water. If the piston moves slowly, so that the time is long enough for the disturbance to spread over the globe, then what will be the result of my working this pump? The result will be that the bag will expand and contract rhythmically with the motions of the piston, you see. So that, at any point of that bag, there will be a rhythmical movement due to the pulsations of the pump.

"That is only, however, when the period is long. If I were to work this pump very rapidly, then I would create impulses, and the ripples would spread in circles over the surface of the globe. The globe will no longer expand and contract in its entirety, but it will be subject to these outgoing, rippling waves.
"Remember, now, that the water is incompressible, that the bag is perfectly elastic, that there are no hysteretic losses in the bag due to these expansions and contractions; and remember also, that there is a vacuum, in infinite space, so that the energy cannot be lost in waves of sound. Then, if I put at a distant point another little pump, and tune it to the rhythmical pulses of the pump at the central plant, I will excite strong vibrations and will recover power from them, sufficient to operate a receiver. But, if I have no pump there to receive these oscillations, if there is nowhere a place where this elastic energy is transferred into frictional energy (we always use in our devices frictional energy – everything is lost through friction), then there is no loss, and if I have a plant of 1,000 horsepower and I operate it to full capacity, that plant does not take power, it runs idle, exactly as the plant at Niagara. If I do not put any motors or any lamps on the circuit, the plant runs idle. There is a 5,000 horsepower turbine going, but no power is supplied to the turbine except such power as is necessary to overcome the frictional losses.
"Now the vast difference between the scheme of radio engineers and my scheme is this. If you generate electromagnetic waves with a plant of 1,000 horsepower, you are using 1,000 horsepower right along – whether there is any receiving being done or not. You have to supply this 1,000 horsepower, exactly as you have to supply coal to keep your stove going, or else no heat goes out. That is the vast difference. In my case, I conserve the energy; in the other case, the energy is all lost.”

“Mr. Tesla, does that not presuppose that the fluid must be incompressible?”
Tesla:
“I should say so, and electricity, whatever it is, certainly it is incompressible because all our experiments show that.”

1. What’s their full name? Why was that chosen? Does it mean anything?
Ellis Wardencliff
Ellis comes from the Welsh name Elisedd, which means kind, and Wardencliff is a “their last name is their job” sort of last name, as he wards a village on a cliff. But it’s also a reference to Wardenclyffe, because Ellis has a lightning motif that I never illustrate.
I picked Ellis because I thought it’d be funny to give a morally ambiguous asshole a name that means kind, and Wardencliff was my actually sister’s suggestion for another character (I forget who) but it fit so well for Ellis I used it on him instead.

Homemade Radio
Cool AM radio. I made one as a kid but used a bought diode from an electronics shop and a tuner- a variable capacitor- from an old junk radio.
I remember the number of turns on the coil was quite important as AM is usually two bands, also called Medium Wave and Long Wave with quite a jump in between. There’s a lot of stations on MW ( 190 meters to about 550?) that you can easily get and then there’s a huge jump to LW where there are fewer stations readily available, but it’s great for long distance and there’s actually thousands globally that you could get with a good aerial and grounding. The only LW wavelength I remember is 1500m, that of BBC Radio 4 which shipping (for example) can receive at night in the Mid North Atlantic  ideal for The Shipping Forecast, anything else quintessentially British and also The World Service).
Anyone quick on the uptake will note that there is the wireless  transmission of power. The radio here has no power source added. In fact with a high impedance headphone ( ~30 KΩ ) you don’t need an amplifier and can hear the station direct. There is simply just the aerial and ground to the radio power circuit. The transmitter uses a lot of power, but it transmits it too, quite a bit less than io uses, but transmit power it certainly does and is similarly grounded to make the circuit.
Tesla was, of course, mucking around with this and pioneered radio (before Marconi developed it further) whilst trying to transmit useable power where planting bulbs had an entirely different meaning. There is footage of him planting bulbs, presumably in the ground around Wardencliff, and getting them to light.

Nhiều bức phù điêu trong các kim tự tháp cho thấy điện được sản xuất rộng rãi và được sử dụng ở thời Ai Cập cổ đại. Loại Pin của Baghdad và những chiếc đèn hồ quang đầu tiên, như chiếc sử dụng trong ngọn Hải đăng ở Alexandria, đã được sử dụng từ thời kỳ đó. Cấu trúc của kim tự tháp cho phép truyền tải, dưới dạng tụ lại, của một trường điện từ được hình thành ở dưới đáy của kim tự tháp cho đến các tầng trên của kim tự tháp. Và trên đỉnh của kim tự tháp là một khóa đỉnh vòm bằng vàng - mà ngày nay đã không còn.
Khóa đỉnh vòm này có vai trò giúp các ion âm được chuyển đến tầng điện ly, để tạo ra dòng điện. Việc sử dụng dạng năng lượng này đã kết thúc sau triều đại của vua Ramses II khoảng năm 1.200 TCN.
Một dạng tương tự như công nghệ này được sử dụng ở Ai Cập cách đây 5.000 năm, đã được Nikola Tesla sử dụng (ông là một nhà phát minh về công nghệ điện đầu những năm 1900) tại tháp Wardencliffe được ông xây dựng tại Mỹ.
Tesla đã xây dựng tháp này trên một tầng chứa nước và chuyển tải các ion âm từ tầng nước ngầm đến tháp. Công nghệ điện từ được sử dụng trong tháp nổi tiếng này của Tesla là giống với trường điện từ được hình thành trong các kim tự tháp. Cả hai hệ thống đều tạo ra các ion âm và truyền chúng mà không cần dây cáp điện.
Tại Triển lãm Thế giới tại Chicago vào năm 1893, Tesla đã thắp sáng một bóng đèn ông đang cầm trong tay, mà không sử dụng dây dẫn, khi truyền dòng điện xoay chiều qua cơ thể của mình.
Một số phù điêu trong các kim tự tháp rõ ràng cho thấy người Ai Cập sử dụng những chiếc đèn cầm tay được thắp sáng bằng một nguồn điện không dây, như chiếc bóng đèn được thắp sáng bởi Tesla tại Triển lãm Thế giới tại Chicago vào năm 1893 ...
Đại kim tự tháp không phải là một lăng mộ
Các nhà khảo cổ đã tìm thấy một khối đá được khoét rỗng trên trục trung tâm của kim tự tháp, và được gọi là phòng của nhà vua. Trước đây người ta cho rằng khối đá rỗng này chứa quan tài của Pharaoh, nhưng quan tài đã bị đánh cắp.
Tuy nhiên khi xem xét kích thước của khối đá này, và vị trí đặc biệt nó được đặt ở đó, một thực tế khác đập ngay vào mắt. Vị trí đặt khối đá chính xác là phần còn thiếu trong cơ cấu dẫn điện mà kim tự tháp phải có. Nếu ở đây có một loại vật liệu siêu dẫn, thì kim tự tháp có thể tạo ra điện đủ cho toàn bộ Ai Cập.
Một vật liệu siêu dẫn tìm thấy ở Ai Cập vào thời kỳ đó và kích thước của nó vừa khớp trong lòng khối đá: đó là vòm Kết nối (l’Arche de l’Alliance).
Những bức phù điêu khác của người Maya và người Assyria, cũng có các hình ảnh tương tự như kỹ thuật được áp dụng trong các kim tự tháp Ai Cập.
Hàng ngàn năm trước đây, đã có những xã hội có thể biết tới một công nghệ rất tiên tiến, thậm chí còn cao hơn so với công nghệ của thế kỷ XX?
