Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has condoled the death of legendary actor Dilip Kumar.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the CM said Dilip Kumar ruled over the hearts of the people for a long time and his death has concluded an era of the film industry. The CM also extended sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace.

CM MESSAGE ON MARTYRDOM ANNIVERSARY OF HAVALDAR LALAK JAN
LAHORE, July 07:
Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has said Havaldar Lalak Jan sacrificed his life while bravely defending the motherland.
In his message, the CM said Havaldar Lalak Jan frustrated the nefarious designs of the wicked enemy during the Kargil war. The nation pays tributes to his great sacrifice and all the martyrs will always remain alive in our hearts, he added. The martyrdom of Havaldar Lalak Jan guides us to make every effort to defend the country because freedom has no price.

CM ANNOUNCES TO FIX 32% QUOTA FOR SOUTH PUNJAB IN PROVINCIAL JOBS DURING DG KHAN VISIT
LAHORE, July 07:
Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has announced to reserve 32 per cent quota for south Punjab in provincial employment and with the approval of the proposal of adding Bhakar and Mianwali districts, the quota would raise to 35 per cent.
While talking to the media in DG Khan, the CM regretted that the past rulers did nothing for the backward areas and emphasized that the development process has been diverted towards backward and remote areas to change the destiny of the people. I represent backward areas in Lahore, he added. To a question, he said PM Imran Khan would soon inaugurate the south Punjab secretariat in Bahawalpur and disclosed that rules of business of south Punjab secretariat will also be notified at the earliest to make all the departments of south Punjab fully functional. a 66 per cent increase has been made in the development budget and no one can point a finger at the transparency of the budget, he stressed.
The CM said 122 km long Chowki Wala to Musakhel road is being constructed to connect Punjab with Balochistan and added that this 10 billion rupees project will decrease the distance by 100 km. The cadet college at Fort Monroe is being fully funded to complete it early along with taking steps to resolve the drinking water issue and a state-of-the-art school will also be set up in Koh-e-Suleman, he said. Meanwhile, four rescue stations are being set up at Sakhi Sarwar, Fort Munro, Chotti and Lund besides starting supply of electricity in Koh-e-Suleman and other areas, he added. The different roads of DG Khan will be repaired and Sorra Dam will be started in Koh-e-Suleman this year while the feasibility report of four other dams is also ready, he continued.
Earlier, the CM inspected the road construction project at Chowki Wala where he was briefed about the project. The road from Chowki Wala to Musakhel Balochistan will be constructed in two phases via Zain, Barthi. Talking on this occasion, the CM vowed to change the destiny of the area adding that past rulers did nothing for the backward areas. Those making decisions in Lahore were totally unaware of the problems of the remote areas; the CM lamented and added that he is going to every district and tehsil to take stock of the situation.
The CM was told that 122 km long road will be fully carpeted and 89 crore rupees will be spent on 17 km portion of Chowki Wala to atomic energy. The federal government has approved 8.99 billion rupees for a 105 km long portion from atomic energy to the Chappar area of Balochistan. The CM visited Shadan Lund to condole the death of the chief of Lund Sardar Shehryar Khan. He extended sympathies to Sardar Javed Akhtar Lund MPA and offered Fateha for the departed soul. He also performed the turban-wearing ritual of elder son Bahadur Khan Lund.
The CM inspected the ADP wall of DG Khan at the sports complex and inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of different projects valuing 2.90 billion rupees. He inaugurated projects of 24.37 crore rupees for DG Khan including synthetic turf hockey ground at city park being completed with an amount of Rs. 13.38 crore. The CM also inaugurated the city park and Jinnah family park projects being completed with a cost of Rs.4.77 crore. He performed the inauguration ceremony of the revamping project of border military police inn at DG Khan completed with a cost of 1.5 crore rupees. He inaugurated the revamped officers club, as well.
The CM laid the foundation stone of five mega projects for DG Khan with a cost of 2.66 billion rupees. He laid the foundation stone of the mother and child block in DG Khan teaching hospital which will be completed at a cost of Rs.2 billion rupees. The foundation stone of the filtration plants project for DG Khan Division was laid. Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority will spend 29 crore rupees on this project.
The CM laid the foundation stone for the construction of a dual road project from Waqar Canteen to Gadai Chowk. 26 crore rupees will be spent on this project. The CM laid the foundation stone of phase-I of the establishment of shelter homes at all the divisional headquarters with a cost of 9.35 crore rupees. State Minister Zartaj Gull, chairman PLRA Sardar Ahmad Khan Dreshak, Javed Akhtar Lund MPA and Dr Shaheena Khoso were also present.
The CM attended the MoU signing ceremony of the e-research library project between Ghazi University, Ghazi College and the sports department at Khawaja Fareed-ud-Din Masood Ganj Shakar Research Library at the sports stadium. He inspected the library and announced plans to expand the scope of e-research libraries to the whole province.
The CM paid a surprise visit to central jail DG Khan and inquired about the women prisoners and juvenile offenders regarding facilities including the provision of cold water and directed immediate repair of dysfunctional fans. The CM further directed to improve the cleanliness of washrooms adding that TV facilities be provided in every barrack. He also met with visitors and inquired about the possibility of exaction in jail. The visitors said nobody demanded a bribe from them. He also visited the jail hospital and inquired after the health of prisoners admitted there. The government is introducing jail reforms after 125 years, he added.
The CM laid the floral wreath at the police martyrs' monument at police lines and inaugurated DG Khan smart city project where he was told that drones will be used for traffic management during rush hours. The scope of this project will be expanded to other cities including Taunsa along with the provision of resources, the CM declared.

CM SPENT A BUSY DAY IN DG KHAN
LAHORE, July 07:
Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar visited different areas of DG Khan in scorching heat for eight hours. He started his visit at 10:15am in the morning. He reached the tribal area Chowkiwala at the outset and extended condolences with the bereaved family on the death of Sardar Sheharyar Khan Lund.
Then he reached the sports complex in DG Khan where he inaugurated and laid the projects worth billions of rupees. The CM watched the wall of the annual development programme of DG Khan. He also visited Hazrat Baba Fareed-ud-Din Masood Ganj Shakar e-research library.
Later, the CM went to Central Jail and Police Line. The CM met with members of the assembly, notables of the area and different delegations in the Commissioner's Office. Usman Buzdar met the citizens in the lawn in hot weather. The citizens appreciated the unprecedented steps of Sardar Usman Buzdar for the durable development of DG Khan.
Talking to the CM, they said that CM did the work which past rulers could not do in 70 years. The claimant of “Good Governance” made dacoity on the resources of DG Khan and deprived the people of DG Khan from development. We are thankful to the CM for giving the rights to DG Khan, said the people.
