two unrelated points:

- props to nefret cat for being a truly excellent non-lethal mousetrap, like, she will get visibly Agitated and find it and flush it out and then just look at me expectantly like 'okay i did my bit, now you do your bit'

so i swooped a sieve down over it and got a bit of cardboard under it and took it outside (where, yeah, probably it will just get into the house again, but like. we do as much as we can bear to) and set it down and realized: there was a toad sitting right there that was more or less the same size as the mouse! a whole little ecosystem fulla creatures out there

- every once in a while i can actually see the like. ugly-charming boy peeking thru the weeping-willow branches of the ugly-charming girl even despite the tits and it does make me feel glad and warm every time
