This is the first time I'm legitimately waiting for toy hackers to leak the mid-season Cure(s) for WanPri, cause I'm really curious if it really turns out to be Satoru and Daifuku.
So far they're the perfect candidates for it, but Toei also has a bad history of being misleading and adding a random character in the middle of the show, just to turn them into a Cure. Let's hope this is not one of those cases, cause look at those two precious beans.

I’d love to read a full explanation of the wanprys!!
whoo hoo! i went into my lore document and pasted it down here, with some stuff thats still under construction taken out. after that i included some other notes i typed on the fly
lots of paragraphs and some lightly nsfw text below
What is a wanpyr?
You can’t just bring anyone back to life. Mental fortuity, objectivity, and the dismissal of sentimentality are the highest values among those who practice necromancy – your feelings can get in the way, even in death. Cracks in the foundation of a unicorn’s concentration can result in the creation of a wanpyr.
[WIP – this lore is subject to change] A wanpyr is the soul of the dead that has been mixed up/blended with a demone from the underworld, though this is not commonly understood knowledge or else wanpyrs would be treated better. Demones are not considered evil, but they are mistrusted. Every spirit is more or less believed to go to the same underworld. Demones are considered its ministers, so while they can have malicious intent, they are sometimes considered useful, sometimes harmful. None of this is equal to a demonic possession as we understand it, it is more like a dark voice in the back of the mind or something similar. Seelie’s demone may be weaker since they were resurrected twice – kind of like “turning it off and on again.” The wanpyr is still the person they were in life, just different. For dramatically and violently transformed wanpyrs, the mind is powerless to stop the actions of its body.
A wanpyr can have many different dispositions based on how they were resurrected. Though they are exceedingly uncommon in society, they are considered second class citizens if they are deemed stable enough not to be killed.
Some types of wanpyrs include:
Choleric: A choleric wanpyr is defined by any type of wanpyr whose mood has become dysregulated, though most often refers to a wanpyr of an irascible or belligerent nature. Though not particularly driven by desire, choleric wanpyrs can inflict harm for seemingly little to no reason. Choleric wanpyrs are often considered too erratic to live freely and will often be returned to death. They are created when the necromancer fails to clear their mind when raising the deceased, though not always because they were too intimately tied to the deceased. This means that choleric wanpyrs are perhaps the most common type of wanpyr. Ottone Ordelaffi is an example of a choleric wanpyr.
Sanguine: Sanguine wanpyrs are usually created when the necromancer was the caretaker of the deceased, and are disproportionately young children. Some schools of necromancy do not consider sanguine wanpyrs their own category, but rather a subset of choleric wanpyrs, as they are marked by a dysregulated mood that swings towards childlike innocence and confidence. Sanguine wanpyrs are among the least likely to be returned to death, and their existence may be hidden by their necromancer to protect them. Sanguine wanpyrs are usually not dangerous, but will remain in a perpetual state of dependence upon their necromancer. They may be returned to death if their caretakers are no longer present.
Phlegmatic: A phlegmatic wanpyr suffers from an absence of emotion. Though necromancers must take care to be objective in their raising of the dead to prevent the creation of wanpyrs, a phlegmatic wanpyr can be the result of total apathy on behalf of the necromancer. Though they are the most likely to be reintegrated into society, phlegmatic wanpyrs can inflict bodily harm simply because they feel nothing for the pain of others.
Melancholic: Closely related to their phlegmatic cousins, melancholic wanpyrs are marked by a depressive and unmotivated nature. Regarded as the least dangerous type of wanpyr, melancholic wanpyrs must be prompted to take care of their physical needs, and will often be force-fed to keep them alive. Melancholic wanpyrs may be created when the necromancer is particularly blinded by grief. Though not dangerous, this type of wanpyr is unlikely to be reintegrated into society, and some are returned to death because they cannot or will not care for themselves, often remaining in a catatonic state.
Carnal: Commonly created when the necromancer and deceased had a romantic and/or sexual relationship. Carnal wanpyrs are compelled by violent lust and have a dangerous propensity for inflicting bodily harm. Their necromancer is most often the focus of their lust, which can even lead to cases of cannibalism. Leaving their urges unsatisfied for a prolonged period will exacerbate their erratic behavior. Necromancers who relent to their carnal wanpyrs’ desires are usually socially ostracized as a result, and are known by a number of derogatory names. Seelie is an example of a carnal wanpyr.
Esurient: Like carnal wanpyrs, esurient wanpyrs are driven by desire, but this desire is limited only to their ravenous hunger. This type can never be satisfied, only sating themselves temporarily on bloodshed. Esurient wanpyrs are the most likely to cannibalize their necromancer, but will not stop killing and eating beings of any form until they are returned to death. Esurient wanpyrs are usually created when the necromancer has unfinished business with the deceased – usually because they want something from them. This type of wanpyr is almost never allowed to live. Orchidee (bad end AU only) is an example of an esurient wanpyr.
Some necromancers feel obligated to care for their wanpyrs even if the prospect of them returning to their previous state is bleak. Even fewer have been killed by their wanpyrs. Wanpyrs look physically different too, but these changes vary. Common colors among wanpyrs include purples, greens, reds, blues, and greys. Kinda like they got painted with a Darigan Paint Brush. A wanpyr will not physically age or weaken in any way until they are returned to death – unlike those who are resurrected successfully, they are functionally immortal.
In Lafossa, a wanpyr who is allowed in public must bear a sigil signifying that they are kept by a necromancer. The purpose of this sigil is to assure public safety and awareness, but it is stigmatizing and can lead to assault. A unicorn who creates a wanpyr is marked by the horn and hooves becoming a matte black. This is called annerimento in Lafossa. If these parts were already black, they would lose their shine. They can still use magic, though – annerimento just a physical mark and nothing more. Some necromancers cover their horns with metal plating to hide it – Edelweiss being one example. Once the later-mentioned war happens, having a matte horn is more common and seen as less of a discredit.
now this is the part im typing out on the fly. a lot of this is a WIP and the magic in this setting is still pretty soft - dont ask me how a necromancy ritual works because i dont know. maybe i need to read TLT finally for inspiration on that front? im also very cautious and handwring-y about wanpyr lore turning into "fantasy ableism." the allegories to mental health are not lost on me. its not like this is ever going to be some big public story where people will have strong opinions on how im handling certain subjects... but still, its good to reflect on why im making the storybuilding decisions that i am, yknow? so maybe some of this will develop or get replaced as time goes on

My one fear about WanPri is if they end up turning Daifuku into a mid-season male Cure, they will give him a really young 12-y/o-looking human form like they did with Tsubasa, instead of matching him to Satoru's age.
If he's not going to be one of those mature and quiet resting-bitch-face'd kings it will be such a waste of potential. Make him a Ruru 2.0 or don't bother at all.
