Alexei was happy to bring Lucas to his home country, to meet his mother – who seemed a little wary of the relationship though, once she met the younger man, she changed her tune.

It was impossible to not love Lucas. Alexei knew that, he hadn’t really had any fears for how the trip would go.

When Luke got up to leave the room, Alexei’s brow furrowed slightly but it softened and a small smile pulled at his plump lips when his forehead was kissed. He shifted his large body in his seat to watch the smaller man leave the room and, when he returned, he pulled Luke to him, right onto his lap. Then he squeezed Lucas tightly and pressed a kiss to his neck.

     Today was the day she had been waiting for since her brother’s accident. She was finally getting the opportunity to do some good in the world, to make a difference and stop bad people from doing bad things. She had worked so hard for this, and the butterflies in her stomach were proof of how excited she was. 

     Then again, she caught herself biting her nails, something she only did when she was anxious. But she had nothing to be anxious about. It was a good day filled with accomplishment and hard work. Then again, she didn’t know anyone here really, which wasn’t usually something that provoked her anxiety. 

     Reasonably, she figured she was anxious about her new partner. She had no idea who it would be or what they’d be like. Most importantly, she had no idea if they’d like her. She was a pretty likable person, in her opinion, but not everyone agreed with her. She really hoped that they’d like her.

     With some effort, Zinnia managed to pull her hand away from her mouth and shove both hands inside the pockets of her jacket. A moment later, she heard footsteps approach her and looked up to see a man standing in front of her. 

     “Hi,” she said quickly, holding out her unbitten hand. “I’m Zinnia Lupin. Are you my partner?”

Nala visibly beamed as the man got her kite down. “Thank you, thank you so much!” she jumps, taking the kite back, before her smile fell how she finally noticed the cut on the man’s hand, and the little tear on the paper of her kite.

“Oh, you got a boo boo! C’mon, the adults have a first-aid kit. We can ask if you can borrow a band aid,” the girl points to the group sitting under the shade of a tree on the grass, chatting and watching as clusters of kids play nearby. “C’mon, Kieran says that you gotta get a cut clean quickly before the nasties get you sick!”

“Of course I had to come all the way over here. That’s our thing. One of us does something dumb and the other comes over to check on them and scold if necessary. And with you? It’s always necessary. Unlike me.” Her own grin was equally teasing as she took a seat beside Lucas -- satisfied, at least for now, that no permanent damage had been done.

“And don’t worry. Frank knows all about our unending, epic, doomed to be tragic love. He’s accepted that he’s the side piece.”

       She tried, alright, still Dominique was unable to keep her laughter to herself and she ended up snorting at the sound of his words. “So uh… S’that an invitation, Luke?” She asked, going on with what she was doing, bandaging up his hand. No funny business was going on, yet, she felt the mighty need to make it sound as though it was. “I had no idea you were into kinky stuff.” More laughter, hopefully eliciting some of his own as she finished up the bandage with a clip.

It will be more interesting soon, but today was just a lot of reading laws and stuff - most of which didn’t really apply to me.  Kind of scared though because I have more responsibility than I originally planned for a summer job.

When the door opened, James’ throw ended up being too heavy handed and the quaffle hit the man who had just entered. Sirius stood and came over to Lucas with a look of surprise on his face.
