Wandering Witchbreed AU: Sir Logan the Wolverine
AU MASTERPOST
AKA James Howlett
Armour
Logan wears leather armour given to him by The Knights of Xavier. The leather is treated to be a bright and vibrant yellow in colour, with the coat of arms of House Xavier embossed over the heart. In order to hide his identity, Logan covers his armour with a simple, brown travel cloak.
Sexuality and Relationships
In this AU, Logan is bisexual and polyamorous. At it's core, the AU is focused on Poolverine, but prior to the fall of the House of Xavier, Logan had feelings for many of his fellow knights, which will also be explored when delving into Logan's past.
Past
Logan, like is canon counterpart, is over 200 years old. He was born in what is now known as the Kingdom of Kanata, many decades before it broke away from the crumbling Albion Empire. He lived a pleasant and privileged childhood as the son of Lord John and Lady Elizabeth Howlett, however he was often bedridden due to his delicate constitution. Logan's life changed drastically when he discovered that he was, in fact, the illegitimate son of his family's cruel groundskeeper, Thomas Logan. After witnessing Thomas kill John, Logan's witchbreed abilities activated. He lashed out and accidentally killed Thomas before escaping into the night with Thomas' other son (and Logan's half brother), Victor. As he grew older, Logan began to realise that he felt most comfortable in a militaristic role, fighting as a soldier and mercenary in many wars over the course of his life. Eventually, Logan’s rapid healing abilities drew the attention of the Royal Spymaster, Professor Andre Thorton. With the aid of sorcerers Abraham Cornelius and Carol Hines, he captured Logan and performed an eldritch ritual to bond adamantium to his skeleton and completely wiped his mind and memory. This left Logan an animalistic shell of his former self, forced to do Cornelius’ bidding through the use of an enchanted circlet. After a decade of acting as the Royal family’s assassin, Logan was able to break free of his magical brainwashing and escape into the Kanatian wilderness. There he lived as a wild man, with no memory of who or even what he was. He moved from place to place, making what little money he could through underground fights and mercenary work until he ran into Anna Marie and was convinced to join The Knights of Xavier in exchange for them helping investigate his past. Despite the Knights welcoming him as one of their own, Logan was hesitant to allow himself to trust them. This fear of letting people close to him, along with being worn down by the anti-witchbreed prejudice sweeping the Kingdom of Ventra, caused Logan to retreat further into himself. He became apathetic to their cause and, when the Xavier Manor House was attacked by Sentinals and Witchhunters, refused to join the fight. When he returned, he found the manor burned to the ground, leaving him the only survivor.

I’m high key tempted to make a master post for my Wandering Witchbreed AU.
Partly to keep the information in a place where I can easily find it because it’s currently scattered throughout my Poolverine notebook.
Partly because I’m a self indulgent fuck and I will subject my followers to my silly knight!Logan story.

Wade slammed his palm against the table. “We need a quest!”
Logan cocked his brow. “We?” He echoed.
“We!” Wade said with a nod. “Red-blooded, round table shit. Find the fisher king and fix his baby maker, that sort of thing.”
—
Or, Logan is a disgraced knight, Wade is a jester and they’re off on a quest.

The Wolverine bared his disgrace to the world, stories of his sins travelling always ahead of him. He moved on foot, always on foot, hunched and with the stagger of a thirsty drunk. Despite his hard travels, his armour was pristine, dyed a bright and brilliant yellow. The coat of arms of The House of Xavier embossed into the leather across his chest. Many years ago that symbol had been, to some at least, that of a saviour. The stuff of legends, of heroes.
—
Or, Logan is a disgraced knight, Wade is a jester and they’re both on the executioner’s block.

I started writing a AU where Logan is a wandering disgraced knight and Wade is a court jester who is just tagging along because he’s managed to offend basically every noble and king in the realm and I just realised
I’m just writing these two

Wandering Witchbreed AU: Wade Wilson, That Damned Dead Fool
AU MASTERPOST
Armour
Wade's outfit in this AU is rather intricate. He wears a black and red jester's outfit that covers most of his body, complete with a jester's hat. His face covered with by a white porcelain mask with red diamond-shaped detailing around the eyes. He carries a set of Katanas with him wherever he goes, their scabbards are strapped to his back by black leather which crisscrosses over his chest.
Sexuality and Relationships
Wade is openly pansexual and polyamorous. At it's core, the AU is focused on Poolverine, but his relationship with and engagement to Vanessa also plays a massive role. This version of Wade also has feelings for Peter Parker (Amazing Spider-Man version), which I hope to explore once The Avengers and spider-men are introduced.
Past
Wade was born in the Kingdom of Kanata. Growing up, his family was extremely cruel and abusive. From a very young age, Wade learned to use self-deprivation and jokes as a coping mechanism to deal with his trauma. At the first available opportunity, Wade left his family and enlisted in the kingdom’s army. While he proved to be an extremely talented swordsman, his attitude and lack of respect for authority resulted in him being given an ultimatum: return home in disgrace or be executed. Not wanting to go back to his family, Wade strove out on his own. He spent years scraping by, taking whatever mercenary jobs he could get. Eventually, a job made him cross paths with Vanessa Carlysle, a prostitute with whom Wade found an immediate kinship with thanks to their shared sense of humour and sharp whit. While their life was hard, it was beautiful, and the two eventually became engaged. However, soon after their engagement, Wade’s health began to decline. Eventually he collapsed and was brought to a city healer who declared that there was nothing that could be done, he’d be dead within the year. Wanting to spare Vanessa the pain of watching him die, Wade abandoned her. Eventually, he was reached out to by a group of mages and sorcerers, who claimed to not only be able to cure his illness, but also give him abilities beyond his wildest dreams. Wade accepts their offer, believing he has nothing left to lose. Unknowingly, Wade had signed himself up for cruel arcane experimentation under the eye of a sadistic witchbreed, Ajax—who Wade quickly deduced was actually called Francis. The experimentation did in fact save Wade’s life, giving him the ability to rapidly heal and peer through the very fabric of reality itself, but also left him horrifically disfigured. While he was able to escape Francis, Wade felt that his disfigurement made him unworthy of Vanessa’s affection and fled from her once more, eventually crossing the boarder isn’t the Kingdom of Ventra.

Wandering Witchbreed AU: The Holy Order
AU MASTERPOST
The Holy Order is the dominant religion within the Kingdom of Ventra, with smaller pockets spread across the world of the story.
The Holy Order revolves primarily on the worship of a god known as The Holy Light, often (but not exclusively) referred to using masculine pronouns. On paper, the beliefs of the religion focus on living a life following the Light's teachings of compassion and community. However, in practice, the clergy of the church push a traditionalist world view.
The Holy Order is led by the Regent Advisor, who is supposed to take something of a scholarly role and act as a teacher passing on the wants of The Holy Light.
The current Regent Advisor is William Stryker, who is known for is staunch anti-witchbreed sentiments.
The Holy Order and Magic
The Holy Order's relationship with magic is complicated and often depends on the teachings of the current Regent Advisor. As a rule, however, Dark Magic and the worship of demons is strictly forbidden. While the order accepts the existence of other gods, such as the Asgardian Pantheon, it does not support their worship and instead teaches that they are the lesser creations of The Holy Light.
The Holy Order and Witchbreeds
The current teachings of The Holy Order is that Witchbreeds are the spawn of witches and demons. Witchbreeds are viewed as inherently dangerous and demonic creatures which must be destoryed at any cost. Despite this there are witchbreed followers of The Holy Light, such as Kurt Wagner, and anti-witchbreed teachings are not present within the religion's scripture.

Wandering Witchbreed AU: The Knights of Xavier
AU MASTERPOST
Knights within the Kingdom of Ventra
Knights in the world of the Wandering Witchbreed aren't like real life knights found in Medieval Europe, instead they're more akin to Japanese Samurai. Though even that comparison doesn't entirely do them justice. They are warriors first and foremost, bound to the code of chivalry. Knights pledge themselves to the service of a particular noble, protecting their lands and people. Many knights begin their journey to knighthood from a young age, being trained under a noble house as a page/squire to a knight. While the majority of knights are the children of nobility who were pages and squires as children, it is possible for those of lower birth to become knights if they are 'knighted'. This is often done to soldiers who prove themselves to be worthy of the title on the battlefield. A knighting can only be done by a noble lord/lady, or another knight.
The Knights of Xavier
The knights of Xavier were a group of knights pledged to serve Professor Charles Xavier, a viscount who, unbeknown to the other members of the kingdom's nobility, was in fact a witchbreed. After inheriting his father's title, Xavier used his family's wealth to turn the Xavier Manor House into something of a safe place for Witchbreeds, taking them in under the guise of training them to be his knights. The Manor House itself once remained hidden through the use of Xavier's own telekinetic ability, making it difficult for those seeking to harm its inhabitants to locate it. During the decades that the group was active, those working for Xavier would often go out into the wider realm, using their witchbreed abilities to help those in need.

While the knights of Xavier were originally often seen as heroes by those they saved, a mixture of anti-witchbreed teachings by The Holy Order drew the ire of the public.
One night, when Logan was away from the grounds, Sentinels and Witchhunters were able to break through the House defences, slaughtering all they could find and leaving Logan the only survivor.

I was trying to think of a way I could include the Shi’ar and the Starjammers in my Witchbreed AU. I was wracking my brain for the medieval-fantasy version of aliens and then it dawned on me
Fae.

Wandering Witchbreed Masterpost
A Master Post for my Marvel/Xmen Medieval Fantasy AU focusing primarily on the travels of disgraced knight Sir Logan the Wolverine and the Part-time Jester Wade Wilson.
This AU borrows from a variety of sources, including the comics, movies, and cartoons. Basically whatever I think is cool.
Main tag - #wandering witchbreed AU
Premise -
In a universe that is not-quite that featured in the Sonyverse and The MCU, the feared and disgraced knight known as The Wolverine is sentenced to death for the crime of being a witchbreed. Sent to the pyre by Father Robert Kelly of The Holy Order alongside the part-time jester Wade Wilson. Despite both Witchbreed meeting a seemingly painful end, Logan is shocked when the jester also does not die.
This AU is very much a work in progress and open to change, as I also have plans to encorperate the avengers and various spider-men.

World Building -
ⓧ Witchbreeds
"Witchbreed" is the term used to refer to mutants. Originally used by Neil G*iman in the series Marvel 1602. While Witchbreeds--like their modern day counterparts--are the next step in human evolution, The Holy Order preaches that they are the spawn of demons and witches. Often, human mothers to witchbreed children are accused of either being witches themselves or allowing Mephisto into their hearts.
ⓧ Map
The world of the AU is very much like our own, with a few distinct differences. While the general 'layout' of the globe remains the same names and climates are not exact one-to-ones.
Current locations of importance include:
- Kingdom of Ventra Where the majority of the story takes place. Name comes from a combination of the Latin words "Ventus" and "Terra", which (roughly) translates to "land of Wind", the direct translation of "America". Made up largely of small towns and hamlets surrounding larger cities, often ruled over by a noble lord or lady. The Holy Order has a lot of sway within the kingdom, preaching anti-witchbreed sentiments throughout the land. In many places being a 'witchbreed' is punishable by death--however there are small towns or groups that act as safe havens for Witchbreed, such as the mining town of Acmeore at the Ventra-Kanata boarder.
- Kingdom of Kanata The home kingdom of both Logan and Wade. Name comes from the Huron-Iroquois word meaning 'village' or 'settlement' (believed to be the origin for the spelling of 'Canada'). While The Holy Order does have a foothold within the kingdom, it is not to the same extent as Ventra. Rumours of the Kanatan spymasters using Witchbreeds to do their bidding have been rife for decades.
-The Rossiia Empire The home of Pitor and Illyana Rasputin. Name comes from a 15th century name used to refer to modern day Russia. Unlike Ventra, Rossiia actively recruits Witchbreeds for combat roles in their military. However, this does not mean that they are widely accepted by the people of the empire as a rule. Due to the sheer size of the empire, treatment of and opinions towards witchbreed differ from territory to territory and even town to town.

Wandering Witchbreed AU: Sentinels
AU MASTERPOST
In the world of the AU a 'Sentinel' is a title given to a Paladin of The Holy Order. They are warriors trained for the express purpose of locating, capturing and killing Witchbreeds.
The Sentinels first began as a small group founded by Father Bolivar Trask. Eventually, Trask was able to convince the Radiant Advisor, William Stryker to support the training of more Sentinels.
Training
Sentinels are recruited as children. While some clergymen will reach out to the parents of children they believe would be suited to the position, the majority of Sentinels are recruited from orphanages. Prospective Sentinels are given food and board by The Holy Order and undergo vigorous training in both combat and theology. Great emphasis is put on working as a team and overpowering their opponent with sheer numbers.
Weapons and Abilities
Because the strength and abilities of a normal human cannot compete with that of the average witchbreed, Sentinels are outfitted with a particular type of armour created by Trask. This armour uses enchantments to imbue the wearer with improved strength and reflexes. The enchantments placed on their helmets in particular allow for them to think faster than the average human, this grants them the ability to quickly analyse the behaviour and powers of their target and adjust their tactics accordingly. Sentinels rarely work alone. If you see one, there are surely others nearby. Sentinels are trained to never attack a potential Witchbreed without observing them first to get a feel for their abilities and powers. If a person is accused or suspected of being a witchbreed, but there is no real proof, Sentinels will apprehend them to be taken for interrogation and testing.
If needed, Sentinels have the jurisdiction to dispose of suspected witchbreeds. However, capture and interrogation is their preferred method and usually leads to the witchbreed's public execution.
