finding the strength to approach yourself with forgiveness and kindness is so hard, especially when you feel like external forces are not reinforcing it. despite what you or i may believe in some scarier moments, we are always worth it. always.

i know its lonely sometimes but the truth is that it's nobody else's job to look after us; you are your own most loyal companion for you have always been there and you always will be. nobody else has been there the whole time to see all your ups and downs, nobody else can fully grasp the nuance and details of your lived experience. you are the only person with the ability to tell your authentic story. it is a gift. our lives are spent searching for people to share these stories with and in return, listen to theirs.

to look at all the things you have been, and are, and will be with tender fondness even in their imperfections is a skill that i will never stop working on. please dont give up on it either
