One of the most complicated characters of our series; Diego was deeply traumatized by his life and reality but one can never deny he loved Caleb and wanted to protect him. Everything goes south when his conflicted emotions take the best of him.

Diego got a redesign!!   

And yes his ears twitch 👀   Diego originates from one of the most remote territories of Metamoor isolated and independent from the capital of Meridian. Diego’s kind are known by Meridianites simply as the “Shifters” due to their abilities to take the appearance of other beings. Unlike Nagas (Lord Cedric’s people) who can take the shape of anything they desire for as long as they want, “Shifters” can only take the form of a chosen host by absorbing a portion of their vital energy, and such disguise will only last as long as the taken vital energy remains in their system. Both Caleb and Diego were found and adopted by the former rebel leader Julian and raised together like brothers.    Caleb was found first, as a whisperer child wondering alone and disoriented near the rebel camps. Julian, ignoring all the protests to get rid of Phobos’s creature, takes him under his care and names him after his own deceased son.  Sometime after this, Julian takes part on a mission to provide safe passage to Shifters out of the city of Meridian and back to their home land. Unfortunately Phobos’ men arrive to the meeting spot before the rebels and kill the entire group of Shifters, with the exception of a small boy who managed to remain hidden during the ruthless attack. The boy in the middle of tears and trembles manages to say his name is Diego and Julian ends up taking him under his wing as well.  Years later after Julian disappears, and Caleb takes leadership of the rebellion, Diego becomes his most trusted right hand man.     There is a great stigma in Meridian when it comes to shapeshifters, but also males using magic , since they believe in the myth that only females like their Queens are mentally strong enough as to not be corrupted by it, while males are often driven to madness and power hunger (Phobos is usually pointed by them as a clear example of this).  Therefore Diego’s different appearance combined with his shapeshifting abilities was not seen with the best eyes amongst the people of the capital, and even among some of his fellow rebels.  Despite him trying to hide it, there’s a growing bitterness and darkness building inside Diego over the prejudice he endured from the ones around him, especially when compared to the general adoration Caleb receives instead.   Extra facts: - Diego is the father of another original character, Prince Dante Escanor, which he had with Queen Elyon. - Despite their mutual love for Caleb, Dilla and Diego cannot really get along very well, and will not remain in the same area for more than 5 minutes without arguments. Tho in the end they have each other’s backs in the most critical situations.    - Diego is also jealous and frustrated about Dilla and Caleb’s relationship, since he himself also has romantic feelings for Caleb. He does not dare to admit such feelings to Caleb or even himself.

Meet Natalie Brooks, my W.I.T.C.H. OC. She is a chimera, a skilled alchemist...and an artificial 6 feet shifter as well.

Let's talk a little about the history of werewolves in my AU on "W.I.T.C.H".

(English is not my native language, so there may be mistakes. Please be understanding)

Werewolves, like the rest of the inhabitants of Metamoor, are half-breeds of humans and galhots. But when the races crossed, their changes turned in the wrong direction. Although if we compare the potential of ordinary meridians and werewolves, this can be argued. Let's put it this way: a certain percentage of mutations was exceeded, and the first shifters appeared. Some people at different points in their lives simply began to take on animal traits.

It is assumed that their appearance was not accidental and responded to some needs of the world. But it has not yet been possible to find out more precisely.

Those who did not die immediately from the shock and attacks of neighbors fled to forests, fields, deserts. Away from civilization. There they naturally stumbled upon each other, figured out the hierarchy, out of a sense of solidarity helped their comrades in misfortune, huddled together in groups. The next generations of werewolves began to appear already from their mixing. They are born not as people, but as animals.

But the first type of werewolves did not disappear anywhere. New cases appeared from time to time. Chimeris is one of them.

Since she was a high-born lady, this feature was kept in the strictest confidence. There were few sorcerers on Metamoor, so getting rid of princess with magical abilities was not profitable. In addition, the girl did not show aggression. Ostara kept her alive so as not to undermine herself precarious status completely. And from time to time she got rid of those people whom she suspected of revealing a terrible secret.

It is mentioned in the fanfiction that Ostara used to curse her daughter "for the sake of bullying". In fact, it was a kind of way to restrain transformation until the age when the girl becomes conscious. But in any case, this method cannot be called humane.

Werewolves are not well liked in Meridian society. People and galhots believe that they only imitate rationality, but in reality they are bloodthirsty beasts. I plan in my fanfic a whole arc on the acceptance of werewolves. As for Chimeris: at some point, she will also regret that she kept the second hypostasis in severity. ______________________________

The prototype of the second form of Chimeris was the Stymphalian birds of prey from ancient Greek mythology. The victory over them provided Hercules with his sixth feat: "The Stymphalian birds were created by the god of war Ares. They had metal beaks, wings and claws. Their most formidable weapons were feathers that the birds poured onto the ground like arrows"

Chimeris indeed has the ability to shed feathers, piercing enemies with them. Subsequently, lost feathers are restored at the expense of mana.

In my fanfiction, this will be revealed more fully, but I will simply indicate it under the picture. This appearance is not a complete transformation.

Cedric and Miranda can transform their hands, while remaining in the human form. Chimeris for many years rejected the "bird", but was sometimes forced to release it. As a result, she learned to transform in such a way as to get the maximum benefit and the minimum inconvenience. Hence, there is so much humanity in this appearance.

I'm not sure if this is the final design option. Some details may change. But I wanted to at least roughly outline the werewolf form of Chimeris. Initially, it was assumed that its color would be closer in color to bronze or copper. But in the end, I settled on the option in which steel prevails. About changing hair color: in the original comic and animated series, Cedric also changes the color of his hair in the transformation. So I decided that I can leave this shade. In combination with silver lips, it makes the image more unearthly, bizarre.

Note: Sexiest cartoon characters, part five. Like half of these I haven’t seen in a while lol. Martin Mystery would be one of my favorite cartoons if I didn’t find the main characters so annoying. Enoch’s outfit with the spiky crown is arguably hotter, but mostly from the waist down. Haven’t seen Frozen II yet. I’m rereading Bleach, so I didn’t put a voice actor for Kaien even though I used an anime screenshot.

//Lord Cedric - an AU Timeline of Events in His Life

The following timeline takes place within the AU of Kiss the Snake Good Night. I have not developed Meridian’s calendar system (yet). Instead, I’m using Cedric’s age to give fans an idea of when events occur.

Years Passed - Event 0 - Cedric along with five other siblings is born.

4 - Prince “Phobos” (real name - Philos) is born.

12 - The Light of Meridian, her Consort, Phobos, and their entourage journey to Cedric’s homeland. Her Highly Esteemed and Excellent Lady Olindoyo, supreme authority of the Aaronagim, “greets” them in a body that is so hideous, dreadful, and beyond sane description, almost the entire entourage goes insane. While the event terrifies Phobos too, the Aaronagim continue to intrigue him.

13 - Cedric and his identical twin Annwn begin their service under the royal family. This service is to last for 18 months or 1 Aaronag year. During this period, Phobos learns more and more about the Aaronagim and other peoples, whom were always treated with suspicion by Galhots and Escanors, from Cedric. In turn, Cedric begins to bond with Phobos. His sole knowledge of Escanors had come from stories, and this interaction with an Escanor, whom actually enjoys learning about his culture, proves refreshing.

15 - Representatives from Cedric’s homeland arrive to fetch the twins. Against Annwn’s desire, Cedric remains.

Before Cedric turns 16 Escanor years old, the Consort begins to sexually assault him. These attacks culminate after the Consort has verbally abused Cedric using subtle and explicit racist expressions and subtle sexual language.

20 - Phobos hears a disturbance and discovers his father sexually assaulting Cedric. Horrified, the prince uses his sorcery to retaliate and severely injures the Consort, inducing tremors and the use of a cane for the rest of the Consort’s life.           However, the Consort accuses Cedric of attacking him after the Consort rejected Cedric’s alleged sexual advances. The young man faces imprisonment and possibly the death penalty. Phobos helps him escape, and the pair wander for months.

21 - Having evade the Light’s army and enforcers, Cedric and Phobos arrive in the Aaronag’s homeland.           Cedric begins his recovery at his mother’s estate.           Cedric’s mother and her clan demand that the Consort is extradited to their land for prosecution. The Light of Meridian refuses to comply. Instead, based on the advice of her councilors - and the Consort - she demands that Phobos returns and that Cedric is extradited for a trial in Meridian. Phobos and the clan refuse to comply.

23 - A message from the Light of Meridian manages to arrive before Olindoyo, whom calls Cedric, Phobos, Cedric’s mother, and members of the clan to the capitol based on the serious accusations within the letter.           Lord Yubukili, Chief of the Truthseekers, interrogates Cedric and Phobos. He discovers they are telling the truth about the Consort.           Years of harsh words, traded between Meridian and the capitol of Cedric’s homeland, begin.

26 - Cedric’s weariness and Phobos’s restlessness reach their peak. Against the advice of Cedric’s mother, the men journey into territory belonging to the Tsi-Tsi-Tsa Clan, a collection of Aaronag families who detest answering to Olindoyo. The Tsi-Tsi-Tsa offer Cedric protection from the Light, and Phobos begins to cultivate a close relationship with the leaders of the clan.           Olindoyo cools her negative tone against Meridian. She is angered by the young men using other means to get justice but defers action.

27 - Phobos receives tattoos that initiate him into the Tsi Tsi Tsa.

around 30-32 - The War by the Feared One: Phobos declares war against his mother for a list of numerous “injustices.”           Phobos officially rejects his birth name Philos.           Olindoyo refuses to join Phobos, Cedric, and the Tsi-Tsi-Tsa.

33 - Unknown to Cedric and Phobos, the Light of Meridian begs Olindoyo not to punish the young men. The Light insists she shall handle them herself.

around 36-40 - Phobos looks at other inhabited planets for soldiers and resources, as well as to siphon energy. Before the Veil is raised, the magical energy required to journey from planet to planet is surprisingly minimal.           After an assault against Basiliade leaves many dead and results in warriors joining Phobos’s army, the Oracle and Kandrakar (which happens to be comprised of mostly Basiliadeans) raise the Veil. However, the Heart of Kandrakar has not become active, meaning that the time for new Guardians has not arrived.

54 - Based on Cedric’s counsel, Phobos recruits Dr. Jonathan Ludmoore, a reclusive alchemist and half-dragon shape-shifter.

56 - Holes in the Veil, known as portals, begin to form. The Heart of Kandrakar awakens and selects the earthlings Nerissa, Cassidy, Halinor, Kadma, and Yan Lin as the Guardians of Kandrakar and of the Veil.          Ludmoore begins research and experimentation into a) generating holes in the Veil at will and b) using such magic to eventually neutralize the entire Veil.

57 - The Guardians are broken: Nerissa murders Cassidy.           The Heart passes to Yan Lin and becomes dormant.

79 - Ludmoore creates the Seal of Phobos, which has the ability to open anything that is closed, both physical and magical. However, it won’t be able to open the Veil for another 6 months, after the alchemist performs a terrible sacrifice to upgrade it.

83 - Phobos conquers Meridian.           The Light of Meridian, pregnant, is imprisoned. Phobos defers her fate until he knows if the child is male or female.           The Royal Consort is tortured and executed. His head is placed on a pike for all Meridian’s citizens to see.

84 - Princess Elyon is born. Galgheita steals the Seal of Phobos. Alborn and Miriadel manage to sneak the babe out of the castle.           Phobos and Elyon’s mother distracts the guards with what little energy she has left. She dies in a matter of minutes when Phobos joins the fray.           Galgheita uses the Seal to escape to Earth, the planet parallel to Metamoor in the universe. Elyon’s power manages to seal the portal before the guards can pursue them.           Galgheita meets secretly with Alborn, Miriadel, and other Veil-hoppers that have been charged with keeping Elyon secret. They call the coastal city of Heatherfield their new home.           Ludmoore finds a portal to Earth and seeks the babe in Heatherfield. He becomes distracted by the fact that Heatherfield happens to be a convergent point, a place where the five elements meet and are extraordinarily strong, yet somehow not always detectable, especially to the untrained.           Ludmoore disappears after an alchemical experiment to tap the five elements goes wrong.

97 - The initial events of W.I.T.C.H. occur.         The events within Kiss the Snake Good Night occur.

That's so cool! I totally get the DC thing don't worry. I pick and choose what I like for my DC Dr haha I'd love to hear more! Like when do you join and who are you close with? And I love to see pictures if you want to share! 💖

Also I get the phobos thing ngl haha I was more into the comics so I'm not sure how much they differ from the show but I love you chose wind as your element that would probably what I would choose too!😊

I join a few episodes after Artemis does. And I end up being close to her (my whole idea is the team does a secret Santa event every year and she got me so she hangs out with me to see what I like and we start to genuinely become friends.) Most of the team is iffy about me because my mom is a villain especially Wally (it totally has nothing to with our enemies to lovers arc). I also see Kaldur being the most neutral because he gives the whole 'strong leader can see from both sides. I have mostly made sketches of my suit. Also I use bing ai for some solely because I sometimes need the inspo but I only use it for drs! So I have my usually mission suit and my goddess arcane form I use because I also like to be op.

I have always loved air! I feel like it matches my vibe so well too! I have read the comic and watch the show and I personally prefer the show I just like the vibe. Also these have different styles cause I was experimenting with my art style.

Oban Star Racers Aikka Theme

Sooo this is the Part 2 of the "get better" gift for my dear friend Arts-Of-Metamoor (@artsofmetamoor) following right after my small sketch collection:

As you can see this sketch was done in the same day, finished it a bit after midnight but couldn't post it till now. Also I have a slight infection to one of my fingers when I got a light cut so with my hand kinda in pain couldn't do it yersterday either. Sorry for the delay dear! (yeah this is also an old sketch but it took me some time to re-post here as well!) Once again forgive me everyone for the terrible quality of the scanning. I tried scanning the page of my hard-covered sketchbook so it was hard doing it without damaging it! Anyways one again tried to challenge myself into drawing something more complicated without the use of cheat lines and all. I probably messed certain body analogies but I am still satisfied enough with the result. At least I am convinced I can still do it, I guess!

So this is Diego lounching an arrow. The original plan was drawing him drawing the cord, but as I said to my friend the other day, I wanted to cover for my incompitence to draw fingers hold arrows so I made the arrow mid-launch instead.

So I need to mention that it was a conscious choice making him have a hip-quiver. One of them being that I didn't feel confident having him have it in the back but the other is that I was inspired by videos of people like Lars Andersen who practices historical archery and did several experiments in regards to quivers in the back and descovered they are not very practical when running in the forest so maybe Diego in high actions he would have his quiver at his hip and when he is stationary he would have it at his back (since my friend Arts-Of-Metamoor @artsofmetamoor also imagined him with the quiver at the back)

The choice of making the arrow at the draw side was also conscious one. Once again inspired by the historical observations that the arrow could be armed and launched from the draw side and in fact it would be quicker to do so in a heated scene of action: see here

The small piece of lyrics I wrote are of course inspired by the song published by Erutan on YouTube The Willow Maid (I know I know I became obsessed with this while writing about Diego! XD To be honest I have no idea why I imagined it being Diego's song, with his obsession over keeping Caleb close to him at any cost or that he doesn't understand what is going on inside him and in his attempt to do good also, he hurt Caleb immensely)

So a few information about Diego

Diego's back are solid muscles due to the fact that he practiced years in drawing the string of his bow. His body development is still "skinnier" than Caleb's due to the fact that he is not naturally as bulky as Caleb and because he mainly practices archery than heavy weapons like the sphere or battle methods like swordsmanship (although extensively trained to those as well)

Unlike polular belief, archers were some of the fittest soldiers in their units due to their extremely demanding and physical labor with the bow and the battle. However because Diego has a leaner bodytype than Caleb and has less bulky hands, he is oftened referred by Caleb as "skinny" for the funs of it

Diego is up to one point amphidextrous. His main dominant hand is the right one however he can use relatively well his left too. Also due to the excessive excersize with his bow, Diego can shoot perfectly well with both hands so he can hold his bow either with the left or the right hand.

Diego has eyesight higher than average so that allows him to be even more reliable archer. His slit, cat-like eyes have an incredible ability to focus (which allows him notice certain details much better)

Diego is often described as the coquet of his team. He loves wearing more extravagant or decorative clothing (unlike Caleb who prefers more practical and less showy clothing) but he still doesn't wish to lose his mobility and flexibility. So he would often pick comfortable leather boots with decorative buckles and waistcoats or capes with slightly more finesse.

As Diego described his own hair, it can be hard "like horsetail" and made to grow faster. (often compares it with Caleb's who has thinner hair that is prone to breakage. Which is why ultimately Caleb's hair would never grow hip-length like Diego's long locks of hair)

Diego's favorite drinks are Cider and Armagnac (when compared to simpler tastes of Caleb's with ale and wine) but he does enjoy drinking alcohol with friends just like Caleb does.

Diego is a few inches shorter than Caleb (as imagined by my friend @artsofmetamoor )

Diego's voice was inspired by my friend from Ramses from Dreamwork's movie Prince of Egypt and some aspects of his personalty suit too (desperately seeking for approval, taking things at heart, being completely into whatever thing Caleb might be scheming hehehe and above all being always there for Caleb)

Diego tends to have a sweet tooth from time to time. He enjoys puffy cream and custard when he can get his hands on that. He was also delighted when Caleb smuggled some chocolate from earth to Meridian and shared some with him

Diego always called his adopted father by name than call him "father" like Caleb. He might often call him so but more frequently he calls him "Julian" instead.

Ballard is the only known archer who can go toe to toe with his skills.

There are two primarily cultural groups of Shifters, the Mountain and the Desert Shifters. Diego, ironically and tragically descends from both.

My big one was a W.I.T.C.H. OC. Gone through different iterations through the years.

Current one: Trans amab twin of Elyon, she inherited the traditionally male powers - the stuff the villain Phobos uses. Has a lot of feelings about her gender as a result. Becomes very sympathetic towards Cedric and Miranda and the whole way society has treated Shifters (which I made a thing that Phobos took advantage of to get support for his coup). Broke Miranda out of jail and went on the run with her because fuck society.

She could basically just fight super well. She put on muscle easily, had a skill for fighting, could take in a battlefield really well, and avoided the whole ‘draining people and the world of life to use magic’ aspect that phobos preferred.
