The Hatchlings

It started out as a normal day for our favorite mythical trolls Poseidon and Zeus

Zeus was cuddling Poseidon while he was looking at his crystal ball

Poseidon: "chuckles" A little needy today aren't we?

Zeus: Meh. =w=🖤

Poseidon: "chuckles" you goofball~💙

The two were very happy because they knew that soon their babies would hatch. It had been a couple of months but they were prepared in case it happened early. But...the eggs were a little past their due. That worried the two mythicals.

Poseidon: "sighs".....

Zeus: what's wrong?

Poseidon: nothing...

Zeus: Bullfish.

Poseidon: >:0 Zeus!

Zeus: I'm just saying. I know you. And you make that face when something's wrong.

Poseidon: I'm fine.

Zeus:...is this about the babies?

Poseidon turned away not answering

Zeus: Poseidon they're gonna be ok. They're just taking their time. Honestly when I was a baby I was two weeks past my hatch date. I needed my time so I took it.

Poseidon giggled

Poseidon: I guess you're right.... it's just I can't help but worry. I see many outcomes of the future and not many of them are happy and bright...

Zeus picked him up so that he'd face him

Zeus: Love remember, sometimes your outcomes don't come true. And we get completely different results from what you've seen. You can't foresee everything. But that's a good thing~ surprises are a good thing~ but it's also good to have faith in the future rather than believing a vision of it.

Poseidon: ok you made your point. I will have faith that our babies will come. No matter how looking it takes~

Then they heard a cracking sound

Both: ?!!!

Poseidon: huh?

They looked out of their bedroom door and saw the smallest egg hatching

Poseidon: "gasps" it's time! Girls! Girls!!

The sprites all gathered to Poseidon

Poseidon: Bring the sharktrolls here immediately! It's time~!

The sprites saluted and made haste towards techno reef

Zeus: "has a camera" I came prepared.

The egg cracked open and came out was a little hybrid guppy

???: Mew~

Poseidon cooed at the little guppy, picking it up.

Poseidon: hello little one~ welcome to the world~

The guppy mewed and licked Poseidon on his nose

???: mew~

Zeus: Hello there~ I'm your Papa~ and this is your hot daddy~

Poseidon: ZEUS!!! >/////<

Zeus laughed

Zeus: "wipes a tear" Ah it never gets old~ 😁

Poseidon: 🤦‍♂️ anyway...what should we name him?

Zeus: hmm.....how about... Maury~?

Poseidon smiles

Poseidon: I love that~ hello little Maury~

Maury squeaked and snuggled into Poseidon's palm

Just the two twin eggs started to hatch. It was the white ones

Zeus: Here comes more~

The eggs burst open at the same time

???: mew!

???: mrew!

The guppies raced out of their eggshells and tackled each other into a play fight

Zeus: Ah geez. >3>U we got troublemakers here.

He separated the two and cradled them

Zeus: hey you two-OW!!!

The pulled at his ears

Poseidon held in a laugh

Poseidon: Sweeties be nice to your papa~

Guppies: Mew~

Zeus: I'm naming you Eldoris and Osiris

More eggs started to crack causing a chain reaction

Zeus: well that was fast.

Poseidon: Indeed. 😮

The twin blue and white ones hatched next.

One had the colors of Poseidon but looked like Zeus. The other one looked like Zeus too but he was black and white.

Zeus: You are Aden and Nakoa~ Named after my two annoying uncles.

Poseidon: "chuckles"

Next a blue meg one hatched. It looked timid when coming out of its shell

Zeus: Hello there~ don't be scared. Come out.

Zeus gently helped the little guppy out.

Zeus: You are Phoenix because of your uniqueness~

Phoenix smiled a bit

Two blue eggs hatched next

???: Mew~

The other blue one was having trouble getting out of its shell. But the first blue one helped him. It was obvious these two will be inseparable siblings

???: Mew~

???: mew~

Zeus: Awwwww~ and you two are Milo and Haru~ the inseparable siblings~

They snuggled their carrier

Poseidon adored the lovely sight

Next came a meg guppy who had hair and black patches

???: "sneezes"

Poseidon: I'm going to call you Magnus~ named after a dear old friend~

Zeus smiles and snuggles all his babies in one gentle hug

Poseidon: all that's left is this big one~

But the biggest one hasn't cracked yet.

Zeus: hmm... maybe he's just shy? The others are here. Why is it taking this one longer?

Poseidon: "shrugs"

Just then the sharktroll gang arrived

Zips: WE'RE HERE!!!

Torrent: Did we miss it?!!

Tank: Are they here?!!

Tide: ARE THEY ALL ALIVE??!!!

Echo: I'm gonna need to give them all check-ups if they already hatched.

Poseidon: "chuckles" only nine has hatched so far~ but the big one hasn't yet.

The sharktrolls swam into the nest to see all of the newborn babies

Zips: BABIES!!!!🤩

Torrent: Aww~

Tide: "squeals" 🥰😊

Tank: So damn cute!

Echo was already busy giving them checkups to make sure they didn't have any defects.

Zips: What're their names?

Zeus: Maury, Eldoris, Osiris, Aden, Nakoa, Phoenix, Milo, Magnus, and haru~ All that's left is the big one~

Zips: Yes! We didn't miss them all!

Tank: Damn this is gonna be a big baby huh?

Zeus: are you making fun of it? 😡

Tank: no no! I was just saying I never seen a guppy so big.

Zeus: of course you haven't you're not a meg. We can get pretty big. 😑

Tank: 😓

Tide: Anyways how much longer until this one hatches?

The eggs starts to crack

Zeus: About a few seconds

They all excitedly albeit quietly settled down to watch the egg hatch

An arm burst from the side of the egg. Then the other arm burst out of the other side. The two arms broke the top of the egg so that the guppy can see.

???: "yawns" "sneezes"

Everyone: Awwwwwww~

Zips: So cuuuuuuuute~!

Tank: And big.😮

Zeus put a bowl over tank

Tank: HEY!!

Zeus: Hmph.

The guppy crawled out of his shell. He tried to swim but stumbled a bit

Poseidon: Easy there sweetheart~

Zeus: what should we name him?

Zips: How about Hercules~ you know cause he's a big guppy~ so he's gonna grow up big and strong~!

Poseidon: I like it~

Zeus: Me too~

Torrent: Good name Zips~

Zips smiles proudly

Zeus picks up Hercules so that he joins the big hug

Zeus: My babies~ =w=🖤

Poseidon: aww~

Everyone: Awww~

Zeus: "glares at the sharktrolls" What're you awwing at? 😡

Sharktrolls:(except tide) Nothing. 😬

Tide: we're just saying it's cute to see you all affectionate~

Echo: Ok all your babies are healthy. Good job you two

Poseidon: Thank you Echo~

Zeus was too busy purring and hugging his babies to answer

Poseidon: Thank you all for coming~

Torrent: Our pleasure Poseidon~ But we can't stay long. King trollex said he wanted to plan a rave for your babies birth

Zips: it's gonna be awesome!

Poseidon: that's so nice of him~ we'll be there~

Tank: We'll let you know when it's ready~

Tide: "nods"

Zeus: yeah yeah we'll be there whatever. "Keeps purring"

Torrent: "chuckles" Congratulations you two~ we'll see you later~

Zips: You babies are so cute! Congrats!

Tank: Good job you old timers~

Tide: Your babies are wonderful~

Echo: I'll give them a check-up every month to make sure they're healthy

Poseidon: Ok echo~

The sharktrolls left to finish the rave plans.

Zeus and Poseidon set their babies in their nest~ tucking the sleepy little guppies in so that they can nap

Poseidon leans his head on Zeus's shoulder as they both watch their babies fall asleep

They've never felt so happy in all their lives~
