This is the audio for my Find My Band Submission
In the audio, you will hear birds chirping and construction noises. I joined the band my stomping my feet on the ground to a beat. This replicated my steps. I also walk on the grass to the beat. This shows my interaction with nature. I like how the grass makes a rustling sound because you forget the sounds of the construction. At the end, I say, "done," and you hear the bird chirping again, as a signal that nature will continue making music even after I am gone.

This is so disgusting and embarrassing. I made a model of my cat out of his hair after brushing. #embarrassingobject

Note to self: People watching is not a good pastime for a hectic life. Stick to Netflix.

This is a mural on the back of a warehouse in the middle of nowhere. It is amazing the beauty you can find where no one is looking. The layers of paintings tell so many stories I was compelled to interact and bring them to life.

The problem: As a perfectionist, knitting can take forever, especially when creating a gift for a dear friend. In fact, sometimes knitting can take so long, skeins are discontinued leaving you with an incomplete product that can never be finished.
The helper: My sister and I are extremely different artists. I'm obsessed with the details; she looks at the big picture. I have NEVER taken her art advice before. Especially when knitting, which she thinks is "lame".
The advice: Color block the ends of the scarf and add fringe. She even picked out complimentary colors.
Pictured is the finished product, completed after:
1 year of initial knitting
6 months of problematic dithering
3 months fretting over discontinued yarn
3 weeks having given up
2 days of knitting with my sister's advice
Amazing what a new perspective can do...

My string lights kept falling off my wall, so I gave up on them. But this emoji has never given up on me. I had to tape the sticky notes together so they, too, wouldn't fall off the wall. In the tech world, this emoji is the go-to response when I have nothing to say. In the physical world, this emoji brightens my wall and reminds me to keep smiling.

This is a fake flyer that introduces something about myself: I'm a ballroom dancer! This is my dance partner, Scott, and me.

Last semester, I chose the steps leading up to Wyatt from the side next to West as my class place for Dr. Palmeri’s SCED 2200. While I sat here to make my observations, I actually felt invisible; people would often look startled when they walked past and saw me here. I have also never seen anyone use these steps, so they seem to be invisible to most people who walk past. Now, they feel like a space that is only visible to me. #theartassignment #vuhmed2250

most people see the physical place; I see safety, escape, hiding.  sometimes all it takes is an invitation (as scary and vulnerable as that may be) to let people in. #theartassignment #vuhmed2250
