After weeks of stress, travel, illness, little sleep, far too many obligations, and so much love and patience from those nearest and dearest to me, I feel like I've seen the light at the end of the tunnel today. Repeatedly in the past few weeks, and especially this week, I've tried to remind myself that there is beauty in the world, and that, as the saying goes, "it's going to be alright in the end. If it's not alright, then it's not the end." Here is a beautiful image from my time in Alaska. If, by chance, you're driving down I-84 and feel like you need a detour near the Dalles, you should visit White River falls. It's a stunning slice of nature, practically unknown. And when you get there at 10am on a Wednesday, the only person there is the caretaker. And you climb over rocks and traipse through the park, mesmerized by the falls and the old (first in the PNW) power plant. You snap some phone photos, and finish off a roll of film. Because it rained the night before and the falls are bigger, stronger, and muddier than normal. And so majestic. #upperleftusa #pnwisbest #vscocam #vscoforandroid
