I've seen Celebshipping for GoxYusaku and Chatshipping for NaokixYusaku on the ship list but can't find any reasonings here. When were these shipping names decided and is it possible to suggest new ship names?

Hi those were decided on when vrship was still the yugioh vrains ship blog. When we launched this blog and vrship passed the task of running a ship list blog into us, we held a vote about renaming names. Celebshipping and Chatshipping did not receive enough votes for a rename. Therefore, we aren’t going to be renaming those ships, sorry.

I don’t think it’s the blog’s fault that people suggest Terrible Names tbh. I’d prefer if vrship was still up.

For Yuusaku x Ignis, could I suggest discshipping? The reasoning is pretty simple: Ignis is inside Yuusaku's duel disc, just like Atem was inside Yuugi's puzzle (puzzleshipping) and like how Astral was inside Yuuma's key (keyshipping).

I would like to suggest 'Chatshipping' for Yusaku x Naoki. 'Chat' because their initial scenes were them having a chat but also because the audience learns how VRAINS stuff works through said chat; could also work through Yusaku's Playmaker persona since there are chat logs in VR/mmo games like Vrains Links has. I hope that makes sense. (1 of 2)

The reasoning on this is a little shaky, but it’ll be accepted for now.

OH NO ITS FINE THE ASK BEFORE WASNT THAT IMPORTANT as it didnt get down to the point. my suggestion for yuuigu is cyverseshipping; ignis is the one who severed the connections to the cyverse, and also uses it to summon data storms, yusaku uses cyverse-archetype cards! some other characters are connected to the cyverse however, so it might fit another ship, but thats my suggestion!!

i'd like to submit angelmakershipping as the name for yuusaku/aoi! it's a portmanteau of their vrains names. (also, aoi has a threatening whip and yuusaku almost killed a man)

Hello, I would like to suggest that the name for Ignis/Yusaku ship should be Eyeshipping (if it isn’t taken already, where can I find the current complete list of all YGO ships anyway?). Reasons: Ignis is an eye atm, Yusaku’s eyes twitched when he sensed Ignis in episode one, we have been shown a close up of Yusaku’s/Playmaker’s eyes, he named Ignis ‘Eye’, because it sounds like ‘AI’. So yeah, Eyeshipping.

This is currently taken by DM. The tag is pretty dead overall, but as there was a more recent fic posted within the last few months, I’m a little dubious about accepting it for now.

I thought a shipping name for Playmaker and Blue Angel. It's called charismashipping and I don't know if it's too late to name it? The reasons I chose charismashipping is because they are both popular in the VR world. People inspired by them because they will become heroes and protect the VR world. Blue Angel is a charisma duelist and Playmaker will eventually associated with the charisma duelist and become one of them.Thank you for your time to read this comment. ☺

It’s not too late to name any ships, considering that - as stated on the rules page - no votes will be happening until 05/27.

However.

Firstly: Unless canon gives me reason to revisit and change this, there will not be separate shipnames for regular/VR versions of characters. As of right now, as far as vrship is concerned, Aoi/Yuusaku = Aoi/Playmaker = Blue Angel/Yuusaku = Blue Angel/Playmaker.

Secondly: Even taken as just an Aoi/Yuusaku name, the reasoning given is based on speculation. Aoi isn’t the only charisma duelist we know of, and as far as I’m aware there’s currently no proof that Yuusaku is going to become a charisma duelist himself.

I’m not against accepting this as a name for Aoi/Yuusaku, but with the current reasoning I’m going to reject it.

I'd like to suggest this for Yusaku x Aoi ship name: remoteshipping or aloofshipping. Both are described as "anti-social" and "aloof" characters. Another idea could be concealshipping, because both must hide their true identities out Link Vrains, but I prefer to suggest something that symbolize their personalities

I had a little trouble with this ask; I can’t actually find anything definitely verifying the idea that Aoi has been described this way at all, basically. She definitely doesn’t appear to have been described as anti-social or aloof in any official material that I can find, but might have been described in ways that would potentially make ‘remote’ work, in LABO.

I can’t verify this myself at the moment - all I can currently find for LABO is write-ups that don’t mention it, and videos without subs - but because I also can’t confirm that it didn’t happen/is only speculation, I’m going to go ahead and accept Remoteshipping onto the pending list for now. If it turns out to be wildly off base I’ll remove it, but for now it makes the cut.

Concealshipping is Ruri/Yuuri, so that’s a definite no.

ETA: Someone directed me to the TV Tokyo site bio that does describe Aoi that way, so Remoteshipping will stay on the suggestions list and I’ll go ahead and add Aloofshipping to it as well. Apologies for the initial issues!
