With Regards to One’s Name…

The name Lawrence comes from the Latin Laurentius (meaning man from Laurentum) which is from Laurentum, the name of a town that is located in Latium, which is also probably derived from the word laurus (translates to laurel like you know, laurel leaves?). Rose is pretty much self-explanatory. It’s the name of the flower.

Where is Lawrence Rose?

There are a few things that we know about Doctor Lawrence Rose. First, she worked alongside Miz Cardozo and many others in Rosemary Road. Second, she and Cardozo had been observed to have had connections with each other. Third, the last person she was seen with appeared to have been Dr. Cardozo thus making that woman one of the main suspects for her current state. Fourth, she has been missing since 2018 after the events of the Rosemary Road case and a lot of people believe that Cardozo was the one who ensured that she would stay missing.

Currently, Nocturne had been grasping at any intel and dirt he could possibly drag up on Cardozo which is starting to create more questions rather than answers for him. As of 2020, there has been no sign of Dr. Rose’s presence reported.

Nocturne met Prophet in one of the forums discussing ‘conspiracy’ theory stuff regarding the different organizations and corporations which are basically responsible for society. It appears that this person may be someone who basically wanted to keep their identity (which had been surprising for Nocturne so it must have been someone that he knew irl or at least had some semblance of knowing) hidden thus they decided on this code name.

With Regards To Their Name

I’m pretty sure everybody knows what prophets are but for the sake of complete intel I might as well keep this sort of thing up. You never know when this information could become important after all.

According to wikipedia (shut up, if you want more extensive or reliable sources you can do a quick google by yourself if you can already read this thing), a prophet is an individual who is regarded as a being who is in contact with a divine being (example being gods, goddesses, etc.) and is said to speak on that entity’s behalf, serving as an intermediary with humanity by delivering these messages or teachings from the supernatural source to the people. The message that the prophet conveys to the people is called a prophecy.

Going deeper into the etymology of the word, the English word ‘prophet’ is a compound Greek word from pro (meaning ‘in advance) and the verb phesein (meaning ‘to tell’); thus, a προφήτης (prophétés), is somebody who foretells future events, and also conveys messages from the divine to humanity. In a different interpretation, it could mean advocate or speaker.

What Is Their Story?

In 2008, their mother had been a participant (willing or unwilling?) in the initial run of the parapsychology experiments. However, she died during the experiment as it was a process that exposes the participant to experiments that take a hell lot of physical toll on their body. The Prophet's mother’s body couldn’t keep up with the demands of the experiment which unfortunately resulted in her death.

Growing up, they had been originally led to believe that it had been Montauk that performed the experiment on their mother. However, they must have found new information that allowed them to conclude that it was not the company’s fault that their mother died. No, it appears that the fault may lie in somebody else’s hands.

Their father on the other hand is an important person in the Bureau of Unreality and in a perfect show of his stellar parenting skills, he had given the Bureau his permission to run various experiments on Prophet, his own child. As such, now that they are much older and able to look at the bigger picture of their childhood, they now believe that rather than Montauk killing their mother, it had always been the Bureau of Unreality who has their mother’s blood on their hands.

Miz Cardozo’s Statement Regarding The Cases Filed Against Her as Well As Her Response To the Call Out Posts

On the Topic of Names

Dr. Cardozo’s full name is Misericordia Cardozo.

Misericordia is the Latin word for “mercy” which is derived from misericors, ‘merciful’, which in turn is also derived from the words misereri, ‘to pity’, and cor, ‘heart’. I find it quite ironic that she is named that considering it appears that Cardozo is anything but merciful now that facts of her apparent misdeeds and actions regarding different horrible events are being dug out in plain view for the world to see.

Perhaps that itself is one of the reasons why Nocturne and Cassie compared her to that of a Wolf.

Cardozo itself originates from the surname ‘Cardoso’. It came from the old Portuguese and in english, the name’s meaning translates to ‘a field full of thistles’.

2017: A Truthful Confession?

In November 2017, an entire month after the upheaval that had been Adrian Carter’s death, the world began to buzz like a beehive full of angry bees when Dr. Miz Cardozo came forward to confess that she had been hiding a dark secret that she had been unable to utter when her boss had been alive primarily because said boss was the reason why she had to keep silent in fear of his retribution that would certainly ruin her career, reputation, and life.

Miz Cardozo admitted to the entire world at large that she had been sexually harassed by Adrian Carter for the years she had been working under him when he was still alive.

The world had been horrified—scandalized—that the genius Montauk leader that led so many innovations had been That type of person.

2018: What Happened In Rosemary Road?

In 2018, Rosemary Road which is a mental illness treatment facility in which Miz Cardozo had been working at, had gone under critical view as its dehumanizing treatment of its patients had been revealed to the world’s judging eyes. The doctor and current CEO of Montauk came under fire as the way she had treated one of her patients—Jak Richard—was made public. Doctor Cardozo’s subpar treatment of the patient’s nyctophobia (the extreme or irrational fear of the night or of the darkness) which involved locking him within a dark room and refusing to release him even as he had begged her to do so disgusted many people. However, her actions did not just end there. She had also been linked to the illegal surgery of one Derrick Brody which had been believed to have worsened his state.

In an answering post created by the doctor in 2019 as a response to Cassandra Carter and Nocturne’s callout posts, she defended herself for her actions in Rosemary Road as well as denied full responsibility for some of them. She claimed that she and a lot of the staff in the facility had been forced to do such extremely morally dubious measures due to severe pressure from the higher ups to produce immediate results. She also claimed that the people should not immediately believe the words of their patients such as Jak Richards for they are prone to charming and lying in order to exaggerate events in order to get people to take their side.

With regards to Derrick Brody’s illegal surgery, she said that she was not his main doctor and that it had been a man named Dr. Henrik Von Schneeplestein who had been the one to lead and perform the illegal surgery procedure on Mr. Brody. She claimed that the doctor came to her one day seeking her counsel regarding the procedure and she had told the doctor that the procedure has a small percentage of succeeding however it also has a possibility of providing good results and improving Mister Brody’s health. After which Dr. Schneeplestein apparently lied to her and the other members of the surgical team that the board had given him the go ahead to perform the procedure on Mister Brody. Basically, she’s foisting off the entire fault to the other doctor.

Unfortunately for her and for everybody who wants to know the truth, Dr. Schneeplestein along with many other staff and patients in the facility is missing. So he is unable to affirm or deny Cardozo’s claims.

Another thing that had been linked to Cardozo from Rosemary Road is the case of the missing doctor called Lawrence Rose. From what I’ve been reading in the sort of between the lines of everybody’s posts is that Cardozo is responsible or at least is highly connected to the missing case of Dr. Lawrence Rose. It appears that they seemed to have had both a deep and toxic relationship that might’ve led to… abuse, so to speak. Doctor Cardozo seemed to be downplaying their relationship to that of a more professional one of a senior co-worker being far too harsh on her younger coworker in order to teach her the ropes and expressed some regrets on her treatment of Doctor Rose. She also denied the allegations that she inflicted the same abuse that she had suffered from the late Adrian Carter upon Doctor Rose, claiming that she would never do such an act after suffering such things from somebody else.

Jury’s still out on whether these claims are sincere or not though.

Either way, things may become much clearer once I begin to sink my teeth into the intel that I had been sent based on the Rosemary Road events. Although that might take quite a while since there’s… a hell of a lot of them to process and consolidate into a comprehensive article or post.

There appeared to have been an initial trial during 2018 wherein Cardozo had been left to become the scapegoat of the public to take the fallout for the consequences of having these events come into light considering most of the staff and patients involved in the case are either missing, dead, or unfitting to be called for trial. However, regardless of becoming the public’s scapegoat for these events, Cardozo is still being painted as the ‘victim’ rather than a perpetrator and instigator for the crimes committed in the facility by the media. No doubt PR and money had been heavily involved in ensuring these.

Ah capitalism and the unending song of corruption within the system… you will never change, won’t you?

2019-2020: Where is she now?

2019 seems to have been a rough year for Dr. Cardozo. Her trials and questioning was continuing on to 2020 as more information and questions circulating around her kept popping up. She was or may even still be in house arrest after she had been questioned by the FBI probably for her involvement in the RR case. However, unknown to the public, it appears that the Bureau of Unreality is hard at work at covering what may have been their influence slash actions in the case.

There was an unlisted video hidden within the voxtenebris youtube channel which showed what appeared to be Doctor Cardozo holding an interview with the unknown Administrator of the Bureau. However, Cardozo seems rather… dazed? I don’t know how to describe it but like she’s rather distracted. It took the administrator several repeats of their questions for her to catch up and answer them. That seems to be odd considering people’s impressions of her is that yes, she tends to pause a bit before answering because she mulls over what to say in her mind before speaking but the way she spoke in the video was… It was as if she was absent minded? Perhaps she was processing the identity of the Administrator since she met them face to face and I believe that their identity has always been unknown to the public.

But as I said, I rather doubt that since her way of speaking seemed a bit… slurred? I don’t know.

Either way, something odd seems to be going on with Cardozo as something from her might be causing some interference in technology. At a certain part of the video after she lost her temper with the administrator, the audio of the video crackled and screeched before an eardrum destroying thrill/ringing noise came from the speakers before it all settled down as she calmed down as well.

So… What does this entire part imply? It implies that the BOU held these sorts of interviews with Cardozo in order to give her a script that would not implicate them in the RR case. So they must certainly be hiding something rather juicy within this case and they must have been cooperating with or working with Cardozo in order to keep whatever secret it was hidden. Suddenly, the experiments on people with certain abilities mentioned by one of the informants Nocturne talked to in the forums came to the forefront of my mind. It makes me wonder if whatever happened in RR is directly linked or just loosely connected to it. The interview also implies that something odd is going on with Cardozo herself and I wonder if it’s just due to stress or there’s something else at play in this. There isn’t too much information on that right now so I’ll just leave it to the side. I’m pretty sure I’ll get some more intel on that later on once I finish slogging through so much documents and stuff that I had been led to.

Anyway so with that in mind, Cardozo obviously knows something or is involved in something that connects Montauk, the morally dubious experiments committed by both the BOU and Montauk in separate cases, the Rosemary Road case, and the BOU itself together.

With that part done, going back to the court trials, there have been rumors that Cardozo will be cleared of all charges regardless of whatever concrete evidence would be presented in court against her. I’m not exactly surprised. Of course they’d do everything to cover their asses.

Montauk’s stocks would die if its CEO is charged guilty with the ugly shit that’s being filed against her and the BOU would have to cooperate with Cardozo in order to save their asses since I have no doubt that she would be the type of person who would drag an entire ship down with her to the depths of the abyss if they left her in the curb to take all of the fall out of the events on her own.

Be Wary of Her

In one of Nocturne’s nightmare blogger entries, he warned us (or maybe just himself?) to be careful when dealing with Cardozo as she is not who she seems to be. It makes me wonder what this warning meant. It makes me wonder if the nightmare entries might be more than what we thought it to be.

Doctor Henrik Von Schneeplestein had been identified as one of the doctor staff working in Rosemary Road. Cardozo mentioned that he had been the doctor responsible for the lobotomy conducted on Derrick Brody and that he had lied to a lot of people in order to be able to commit the surgery on his patient.

With Regards to One’s Name

Derrick is a variant of the name Derek which is the English Language short-form of Diedrik, which in return is the Franconian form of the name Theodoric. Theodoric is an old Germanic name with an original meaning of ‘people-ruler’.

Brody on the other hand had the transferred use of the surname meaning “from Brodie”. Brodie is a place-name believed to be derived from the Gaelic broth which also means a ditch.

Who Were They?

Derrick Brody was one Chase Brody’s son. He had been one of the well-known patients of Rosemary Road due to the fame of his father. It had been suspected that he had been one of Dr. Cardozo’s patients but she denied the fact and clarified that he had been under the care of Doctor Henrik Von Schneeplestein.

What Happened In Rosemary Road?

According to Dr. Cardozo’s public statement, it had not been her but rather another doctor named Henrik Von Schneeplestein who led her and a few others in the staff to conduct an illegal surgery on Derrick after he had lied to her and the staff about being given the permission by the board to proceed with the lobotomy on Mr. Brody.

Jak is a name of Old English origins which means ‘God is gracious’. While Richard on the other hand was based on the Old German name Ricard, which means powerful and brave.

Who were They?

I’ll probably find more details to update this section later once I slog through the many files I’ve dug up on the RR case. So I’ll focus more on the publicly known details before the nitty gritty stuff.

Jak Richard had been a patient diagnosed with Nyctophobia (the irrational or extreme fear of the night or darkness) and had been under Cardozo’s care during his stay at Rosemary Road.  Dr. Cardozo’s treatment of him with regards to his Nyctophobia had drawn most of the public’s outrage once it was leaked out.

The event being mentioned had been a log of that time when the doctor was conducting what appeared to be the treatment process of exposure therapy (was that what it was called? Basically, it’s the process of helping the patient get over their phobias via exposure to their very fear itself. Generally, it was supposed to be conducted at a much slower pace in order to prevent the patient’s phobia from worsening and adding more to their trauma) and the scene of her patient begging the doctor to let him out of the dark room that she had locked him in.

Where are They Now?

Unfortunately, his body had been found in an unnamed forest around the year 2019. There had been no details provided regarding the method of how he had died so I can’t tell you anything else aside from that information. Perhaps I could ask Nocturne or anyone about this later on.

With Regards to One’s Name

Crywolf seems to be a reference to a child’s fairytale slash story called The Boy Who Cried Wolf. Perhaps it’s linked to the fact that what they are discussing could basically be brushed off as lies or ‘conspiracy theories’. The wolf may or may not be referring to Dr. Cardozo (considering she’s been called a wolf by so many people at this point that I’ve started to automatically connect the name to her) who is currently the CEO of Montauk as it had been under her regime that the experiment which killed his little brother had been conducted in.

The One Who Cried Wolf

Nocturne met them in the same forum that they met Prophet in (at least I assumed that’s where they met Prophet too? I could be wrong though… Either way, what’s more important is the details of what they had discussed). It appears that experimenting on people for the sake of studying parapsychology seems to be a trend considering that Crywolf’s little brother had participated and died during one because he had an ability that they called ‘The Sight’. Now I don’t know about you but this ‘Sight’ sounds like the ability one would connect to Prophet’s name which was basically being able to glimpse the future and regardless of how horrid it sounds like, it seems to be the exact thing that the Bureau of Unreality and Montauk would experiment with. I don’t know what sort of tests they were putting Crywolf’s brother through but it definitely took a lot of toll on the child’s body much like how it affected Prophet’s mother and it ended up killing him.

Now, of course, Montauk can’t have that sort of thing traced back to them so they paid Crywolf’s family a lot of money to keep them hush hush about the events. However, it must not have been enough for Crywolf (would it be enough for anybody who has an actual sibling?) not in the material sense but a more personal sense. I mean, who would just accept their little brother’s death just like that? As if throwing money at them would wash away the blood that stained Montauk’s hands and would completely make up for the death of a family member, more so when they were just a child? So I could empathize with Crywolf’s need for the truth or at least some closure on such an event.

Hm… It’s worth noting that this experiment took place under Cardozo’s reign so… that puts this event around 2018?

Huh. That’s ten years after the experiment that took Prophet’s mother’s life… And the child had the same ability for the Sight that they do… I wonder if there’s any link between those events or if I’m just thinking too hard over it…

With Regards to One’s Name

The name Adrian is a form of the Latin given name Adrianus or Hadrianus. Its ultimate origin would most likely be the former river Adria from the Venetic and Illyrian word adur which means ‘sea’ or ‘water’.

James is a classic boy’s name which was derived from the Hebrew name Jacob. It means supplanter, one who follows.

The name Carter is a boy’s name of English origins which meant ‘transporter of goods by cart’.

Who Were They?

Adrian Carter is infamously known as the head of Montauk and had been considered a genius by many people for proving a lot of concepts that had been considered as mere pseudoscience to be true. He has a daughter named Cassandra Carter and an unnamed wife who seemed to have died of circumstance that left him a changed man—something that Cassie noted in a much more colorful way in one of her vlogs.

It seems that he was the one who established the corporation and then decided that Montauk’s main headquarters will be located in his childhood home.

It’s worth noting that despite growing up in the manor, he disliked being in it. Nocturne mentioned that the man would often discourage him from staying within the manor beyond working hours and disliked it to the point that he and Cassie lived in an apartment in an undisclosed location within the city.

During an unspecified date and time, Mrs. Carter died of unknown reasons and Mr. Carter began to change. I believe that he may have sent Cassie away to Canada not just for her (to help her heal from what happened probably) but also for himself.

He loved Cassie. Nocturne mentioned that despite the massive physical distance between the father-daughter duo, Adrian always tried his best to keep in contact with his daughter and stay updated on her life so that he doesn’t miss much of her growth. They must have been pretty close considering the goofy story of how the Cabbage girl inside joke began because he was being a dorky father to his daughter.

However, it appears that Cass noticed that he started to pull himself away from her once he got closer to Cardozo to the point that he lost contact with her. I wonder what could have made him change on that front that much…

Nocturne also made several offhanded comments on his blog posts that Adrian seemed to have grown more… eccentric the longer he knew the man. It would certainly make one question why that is so.

2017: The End?

Adrian Carter died on October 14, 2017 with the publicly identified cause of death as suicide. However, they provided no details on how he committed the act as well as the reason why he would commit the action.

His Relationship With Miz Cardozo

For most of Cassie’s observations (mind you, there may be a possibility that she could have been viewing the events through rose-colored lenses as no daughter would ever want to consider their father doing such a thing), Adrian Carter looked like he highly respected Cardozo and trusted her. Apparently, over the years that they’ve known each other, they’ve grown so close that Cassie assumed Cardozo became her father’s closest confidant. However, she also noted that the closer he got to Cardozo, the less he contacted his daughter.

A month after Adrian’s death, Cardozo stepped forward and confessed that Carter had been making a lot of unwanted advances on her and that she had been afraid to bring it to light as the man can literally ruin her life and career if she decided to ruin him. The world had been outraged at that confession for Cardozo while those who were close to Adrian didn’t know what to think.

Another thing to note was that Cardozo and Carter was working on something together as Nocturne mentioned in one of his posts that before he would often work with Adrian after office hours on RedMan, he would have to wait for Cardozo’s own sessions with Adrian to end before he would be allowed inside.

His Works and Research

The head of Montauk became well known for his tremendous contributions in proving certain topics that had been labelled as pseudoscience to be true. Thus it wouldn’t be that strange to know that he must have left behind numerous studies and written papers of his own that researchers and scientists would probably do just about anything to get their hands on them.

As it was, there had been two main projects that people around him (most notably Nocturne who had been working with the man as both a colleague and a student) mentioned he had been working on before his death.

First, it seems that the man had been researching the very manor that the corporation was using as their main HQ. Nocturne didn’t really pry too hard for the reason on why Adrian was researching the house but he also mentioned that he, himself, had noticed some inconsistent and impossible geometric and architectural features on the manor that only he seemed to have been able to notice and experience.

The second mentioned project was the RedMan project. Nocturne worked with Adrian on this project and always found it odd that the older man was so obsessed over perfecting the project as soon as possible. After Adrian’s death, Nocturne continued their work on the project and had been hard at work in finishing it.

On that note, it appears that Adrian might’ve left most of his projects and research to Nocturne in his will or perhaps he left it all to Cassie and then she unleashed Nocturne on them to make sense of them. Most of the things contained in his papers was a source of both fascination and frustration for Nocturne, generally with how impossible some of what Adrian had written in it to be.

It makes one wonder what could have been written on them that might have garnered such a reaction from Nocturne...

With Regards to One’s Name

The name Vivian is a cognate of the French Vivien (which means alive) as well as has some relations to the Latin name Vivianus which is ultimately related to the adjective vivus which means alive.

That’s rather a bit too on the nose there, don’t you think?

A little neat trivia about the name Vivian is that one of the versions of the Lady of the Lake is named by another version of the name (Vivien) and a rather famous version of that name comes from Tennyson’s Idylls of the King (1859)!

Family Issues… Family Issues Everywhere!

Vivian is basically Cassie Carter’s second primary guardian after her father. She’s Cass’ aunt through her mother’s bloodline (aka Vivian is Mrs. Carter’s sister) and she also lived with Cass in Canada after Adrian sent her up there after his wife’s death (at least that’s how I interpreted how the flow of events went after Mrs. Carter’s death? Details on it are rather sparse after all).

It’s worth noting that Vivian works (worked?) in the Bureau of Unreality and had been working with Miz Cardozo. In fact, she was the one who had introduced Miz and Cassie to each other! I wonder if she was (still is?) Cardozo’s friend or if they were just friendly acquaintances.

Vivian, according to Cassie, looked very similar to her deceased sister and this caused some lingering resentment from Cassie whenever she saw her aunt. I suppose seeing somebody who looked so much like her mother would be like rubbing salt in open emotional wounds especially while you are still grieving. I wonder how her aunt felt whenever her niece would look at her and rather than see her for herself, sees her dead sister… It must be quite a pressure on one’s shoulders and a weight clasping around her heart knowing that your niece lost her mother at a young impressionable age and you know that you’re carrying her face, a living reminder of what she and her father lost.

Currently, as of 2020, I think Cassie moved out from her shared home with her aunt in Canada and into cohabiting with Nocturne. I wonder how her aunt is doing right now...

All That We Currently Know…

Mrs. Carter’s unknown death (or at least it’s unknown to me since nobody’s mentioning it which is completely understandable) must have died through circumstances that left quite the mark on her daughter and husband’s psyche. It’s making me wonder if she died in front of them… If so, I would understand why—as Cassie so delicately put it in words in one of her videos—it would have fucked them all up.
