Both are only dangerous when they are enslaved (Ood go feral only because of the modifications done on them, and the Vorigaunts were under the Nilanth's control during HL1)

Both have a hive mind of sorts that bind them to their kin and when separated from that it really messes them up

Truly gentle creatures who prefer to avoid conflict

Both have some semblance of future sight or ability to prophesize
