What a difference 48 years makes juxtaposition of Volkswagen Golf GTI 5-door, 1976 & Volkswagen Golf GTI, 2024. The revised 8th generation Golf has been revealed, the first generation Giorgetto Giugiaro designed Golf GTI was only available as a 3 door with a few 5 door versions being made to special order including for the Italdesign boss himself. GTI is an acronym of either the Italian phrase "Gran Turismo Iniezione", or in English "Grand Tourer Injection." This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Golf
