The morning hosts voice was magnetizing.

Its pull was intense, drawing you in to the waves of his enthusiasm and the mystery of his silence, his identity and presence. His rambling, his humor, his cadence, the gentle tapping against their desk, their phone- all of it intrigued you, lit a spark in your chest that traveled to the front of your mind. It left you longing for more. Anything at all, anything that wasn't the elusive persona of a radio star.

"And as always, we hope you have a radiant day! Take care, superstar! Until next sunrise!"

Who are you?

AKA; as promised, the one where the DCA's are 80s radio hosts with a twist; no one knows who they are.

After 4 months straight of work, it's HERE! The fic itself!

Chapter 2; Lying awake (Intent on tuning in on you)

"So stubborn. Hasty little thing." "Alright, if you're gonna be a cryptic as-"

"Intriguing." ...Intriguing? Heat rises to your cheeks, brows knitted together as you turn a glare toward the phone. First he hangs up on you three times in a row, then spouts off some cryptic nonsense and now- now- Words fail you in the heat of your embarrassment, in the heat of your irritation as Night cackles. The bell rings in the background again, metal creaking. You note it down in a hasty scribble, just as Night speaks again- "Good night, angel." The line goes dead.

SURPRISE. IT'S HERE!! CHAPTER TWO OF VKTRS, AFTER A MONTH OF ANTICIPATION.

quick question, if any of these became a series (fic or comic is up to be decided)

none of them are x reader, and all are written from the attendants perspective (third person)!! ichorous melody is the only one with romantic content!!

i will say carousel waltz is my favorite (it features the unused balloon world funko figures!! and already has a lot of thought and detail put into it) but if there's more interest in electrical flux or ichorous melody, i can def work with them!!

note; carousel waltz's name is subject to change!! right now its just a placeholder taken off of a jack conte song that fits the tone of the AU

how about i tell you facts about all of them!!

YN: YN loves bowling- and board games! They just bring back good memories for them! Unless it's monopoly. In their words; "Never again."

MICHAEL: Michael's a massive softie for animals! He's particularly fond of dogs, having one of his own! His dogs name is Foxy... yeah, you can guess where he got that from.

VANESSA: Vanessa practically lives in flannel jackets, always layering them over her outfits. Usually it matches, but sometimes it doesn't and she just does not care.

SUN: When live on the radio, Sun will often sing and dance along to the music he's playing! This, of course, has lead to shenanigans... more than once. Half of Solfield have heard Sun sing along to I Wanna Dance With Somebody.

MOON: Moon has a habit of fiddling with his bracelets or necklace when speaking- or when he's bored and trying to find something to do other than just spinning in his chair or pushing every button in his line of sight!

explanation on the current state of VKTRS and why i'm considering this change below! dont vote bunny choice pleas that's just so i can see the poll results

so! chapter 3 has taken a ridiculously long time, and i'm going to be completely honest;

it's because i am not enjoying writing an x reader. i don't like writing from a you/yours perspective, i don't enjoy writing a faceless character and that's impacting my drafting for the story, because i'm just... not enjoying it!! i'm not a selfshipper (aromantic with a complete disinterest in romance) and im not a fan of reading x readers, which is making it even harder for me, because i am producing something i myself wouldn't read

and in a sense that's my own fault, because i thought i had to do an x reader to succeed. but i don't want to produce a poorly done end product that i'm not satisfied with in the name of attention and success. i want to create something that has passion in the heart of it and something that i'm proud of!!

i don't want my fic to be a chore. i want it to be a passion project that you can tell i'm excited for. i don't have my heart in the first two chapters of vktrs and i think you can tell, and i don't want that! i don't want that to be all you see of my writing! moral of the story is; new creators for the DCA fandom, please don't think you have to do an x reader to succeed. create the fiction you want to see, not what you think other people want to see. do not pull a bunny!

so, with that said, what's my plan?

i'm gonna be honest! i don't know, at least not yet! maybe i'll remove the x reader and have it be sun x moon! maybe i'll replace the x reader with an OC, though you can certainly still put yourself in their position! the story remains reasonably the same; a 30 chapter horror/mystery/romance fic about 80s robot radio hosts! perhaps with more of a horror flare, perhaps with more dysfunctional toxic yaoi (because it's a bunny fic those are my two skills), but it will follow a very similar plot!! just it will not be an x reader and it will not be written from a you/yours perspective, because that's just not me!! that's not what i want to write or what i want to read!!

of course, this banks on the outcome of the poll!! but if it ends in a no, then at least you guys know about the current state of the radio host AU and why it's been so slow going!! apologies for the ramble, this has been on my chest for quite a long time

i just hope the end result will be something both you and i will love!! no matter what, i promised VKTRS will be finished, and i intend to live up to that no matter how long it will take. (i just need to beat my procrastination over the head with a bat to actually get things done either way...)

to go with my last poll; would you read a dca AU fic written from the attendants perspective, in a reverse of the usual x reader format?

just because it's something i haven't seen done before!

to explain what i mean; VKTRS would still be x reader, but it's told from sun and moons eyes instead!! written in third person, still a mystery (though, the mystery for the readers to solve is a bit different in this format!)

it caters to my interests (writing those robots in situations and never writing in second person ever again) and it caters to the x reader enjoying crowd!! best of both worlds, though of course i will do whatever's preferred!!

VKTRS/radio host DCA AU drabble!

"Just-" You pause, a hefty sigh with furrowed brows. The world stands silent, the rustle of leaves and the tick of your clock deafening. "Why? Tell me why, that's all I want." The silence grows. Heat builds in your chest, lines your eyes as you sigh, hands running through the tangles of your hair. And then Sun begins to speak. "Do you know why we held you at arms length?" You pause, at the callousness of his tone. Sun stares down at you, white eyes flickering in the dim light. "Why we hid ourselves from you?" "Why do you think I'm asking?" You bitterly mumble, a low whisper from your throat. Sun's tail twitches, star flickering. "I don't- magically know what you two are thinking. I've never known what you were thinking, I-" Your voice raises a pitch, a mumble to a hiss and anger is hot in your chest and bitter in your mouth. The fire of confusion, of chasing answers for so long and receiving nothing- "You spend months making me fear for my fucking life, and still-!" SLAM. You flinch at the sound that resounds through the room. Sun looms over you, hand inches away from your head, the cold metal of his thumb brushing the skin of your ear. His eyes flicker shades of crimson, rays twitching, tail lashing and his shoulders sit tense, stood close enough for you to feel the hum of his fans. Claws flash in the light, voice a static-laced spit of venom that reverberates over the pound of your heart. "Watch your tongue. I wasn't finished."

details;

sun is a land-locked siren that cannot effectively feed (sun feeds off of a humans voice- if he gets his hands on you, consider your days of speaking over and done with! this also fuels his own voice, which is important to his survival), moon is a vampire struggling to lure prey into his attacks (humans do tend to fight back against vampire attacks, as he has learned. animals blood just isn't filling enough)

one day they discover each other, starving and alone (both likely having intended to attack the other for food) and upon realizing they're both supernatural, they come to a begrudging alliance;

they'll work together, with sun using his siren's song as a lure and moon killing the target (both for ease of feeding and to make sure no one lives to tell the tale of what they saw), so they can both survive in a world not designed for them

they do not get along at first!! a lot of fights between the two (physical and verbal) but things eventually settle.. until a certain hunter shows up.

Wait, this radio station is 24/7 with only Sun and Moon as hosts. Since they are the same animatronic it means they are stuck there the entire time! Only taking breaks from talking for music ads and whatever. Are there ads? I love the choise of music btw. Especially toto africa. "Itll take a lot to drag me away from you." i wonder who is this about.

there are occasional ads!! not very often, though!!
