Just posted chapter 15 of my Vampire Knight fanfic for any of you who are interested.

Summary:

Ayana Kuran was the eldest child of Haruka and Juri and the twin sister of Kaname-Well, not that Kaname. 16 years ago the Senate took her real little brother and left an impostor in his place. An impostor that answers to the same name and possesses the same likeness as her dearly departed brother. Now, she's allied herself with the new Kaname in hopes or reviving the Ancestor's original body and freeing her real brother from his possession. But with no guarantee it will work or that her brother's mind will not be damaged beyond repair, the mounting hostilities between the Monarchies and the Senate, and the Inner Council's anti-pureblood agenda Ayana finds herself being a piece in a game of political chess with fake Kaname plotting out all the moves.

"Ayana ran her hands over his face. 'Sometimes,' she said, 'I can't bear to look at you. It hurts too much...You look like my darling little brother, but you're not him. He's gone. They killed him and left you in his place. And, when I look at you all I see is the ghost of him and it breaks my heart.'"

Thanks purebloodprincess for responding to my yume vs zeki. I agree with what you said about vk fandom need to chill out. Its mostly zekis i see creating wild crazy theories and not having evidence of their ship and false info they give out to others. Like you need facts with proof to support what you say and like some vk tumblr i ever looked at was just vampire knight, there was some yuuki x kaname on it too. but then someone start reblogging anti yuki kaname post and 4ever zeki stuff.

But your right people do have their own opinion about certain things and some people(zekis in particular) are a lot of denial and just makeup stuff that so many people believe and it’s stupid. To me seems thatzekis is what make VKfandom toxic as hell and zerolovers are helping them to do that. I agree with most of the things you said. Some Z*kis really need to chill out and just ship their ship without twisting obvious facts. Although to be fair the Yume side of the fandom had its fair share of delusional shippers too, I’m not going to deny that. It was certainly not as bad as the Z*kis and there were a lot less people like that. Most of them already left the fandom too. But yes, it was there and it happened. I did not agree with some of their opinions at all.

On that note, I want to reflect on your last line. I admit I’m one of the more pessimistic Yumes. I don’t think Yuuki and Kaname will be together in the end. Not in the physical sense at least. To put it bluntly, that would be horrible writing on Hino’s end. Although the writing is already horrible lol Not the getting together part, but mostly the part about Kaname getting his memories back and/or turning into a pureblood again. Hear me out. The entire point of his character arc in the original series was that he hated being a vampire, he hated the bloodlust, he was always giving and giving and sacrificing without asking or getting anything in return. He has accumulated 10000 years worth of horrible memories. Yuuki turning him human and erasing his memories and by that giving him a chance to restart his life and experience growing old like he always wanted, is the biggest gift she could have given him. If Hino made Kaname remember again, that would literally erase Yuuki’s gift/sacrifice. From a narrative point of view it would make no sense, it’s better for Kaname if he doesn’t remember. Don’t get me wrong I want Kaname and Yuuki together and they deserve to be happy together but I doubt it will happen like this.
