JxW's "Last Night" Promotions (FINALLY!)

The wait for the CHOREO of "Last Night" is over! (I'm pretty sure the behind/practice videos will be released later.) What I saw wasn't what I expected at all. Since it's been confirmed that the guys will only have 1 music show stage (open mic doesn't count) due to schedule conflicts, I'm only going to comment on this Mnet performance once (& that's it). I actually found this stage difficult to watch because I personally do not like Jeonghan with long blond hair (it's complicated). Otherwise, everything blended well onstage since Wonwoo wore almost all black to contrast.

List of memorable timestamps (based on the official stage video):

01:23 = I knew there would be at least one part where these two lean back to back! (reminds me of N & Ravi's move from the bridge of VIXX's "Shangri-La") I wish JxW had this for their bridge instead.

01:33 = I found it funny that Wonwoo is kneeling during his lines while the other backup dancers are carrying/lifting Jeonghan (he's literally not moving at all).

01:52 = I didn't expect this move so early on in the song (it's only 1st chorus) & seriously thought that Wonwoo was supposed to strangle Jeonghan. (reminded me of Ken & N's parts from the 2nd verse of VIXX's "Scientist") Since they're both facing the back wall & not the audience, this part looked weird from the fancam POVs.

02:01 & 03:00 = This (bouncy) shoulder move reminds me of the 1st & 2nd verses of BIGBANG's "BANG BANG BANG".

02:09 & 03:08 = The 1st chorus has them breaking free from the backup dancers, whereas 2nd chorus has them knocking on a pretend door (which actually matches the instrumental).

02:20, 03:19, & 3:57 = The post-chorus reminded me of Jennie's signature hand-to-shoulder move from "SOLO".

02:36 = I'm not sure why the audience was screaming. Because the backup dancers were doing leg kicks? (kind of reminded me of INFINITE's famous scorpion dance from "BTD (Before the Dawn)")

02:49 = Jeonghan's flying scarf (enough said)

03:33 = The audience was screaming again... But the guys are just freefalling into the backup dancers? (I'm genuinely confused)

03:47 = Of course they save a different (also more aggressive) choreo for the 3rd & final post-chorus!

04:06 = That voice combination!!!

(How I ended up referencing FIVE different songs from the 2010s is beyond me... I didn't even reference SVT's own songs. @_@)

As for the open mic show, I have no idea when this was recorded because Jeonghan's hair is still black (which I'd never complain about unless something else was going on). I like their outfits here way more because they remind me of "MAESTRO" promotions! (specifically Inkigayo 20240512 & MTV... yeah, I'm stuck in time)

I swear this will be my final post about "Last Night" because the promotion schedule is just unfortunately too short ._.

I finally just now bought a new mouse cause the wheel has been broken on it forever now, (and the battery cover is missing lol) I did fix it but it broke again, and it’s pissing me off when I wanna zoom in on my tav in bg3, and can’t. It will be here tomorrow thankfully.

Vocal Unit's MV is out! I actually haven't listened to "Cheers to Youth" in full until today because (I kid you not) "Spell" is the previous track on the album, & I was busy mentally laughing (long story) that I ended up exiting the whole streaming website altogether (sorry guys!). After long thought & consideration, VCU's MV is the most relatable & storytelling among all 3 subunit MVs, because everyone is experiencing some kind of problem/crisis right now:

Woozi = difficulty leaving the house to do activities of daily living (music producer genius becomes a homebody STEM genius here)

DK = struggling with academics just before summer break (Did he borrow Jeonghan's pet rock for this MV???)

Jeonghan = vision problems affecting future life decisions (it's just an MV storyline, but poor vision definitely has negative effects on self-esteem)

Seungkwan = smartphone became a goldfish (meaning he has to go "offline" & leave the house to find solutions)

Joshua = multitasking office salaryman (if you've watched Hypnosis Microphone, then you might think of Doppo)

As for the rest of the MV...

Seungkwan looks adorable riding his bicycle with that fish tank strapped onto the back! And the phone store happened to have OPPO ads! (BSS recently filled a commercial for OPPO smartphones.)

Is it bad that I replayed Jeonghan's trip & fall several times? (Miyamura from Horimiya came to mind.) Also, having him read "FOREVER IS A LIE" during the eye exam was just heartbreaking.

Joshua sings his heart out undisturbed at work! And a coworker gave him Loacker Quadratini wafer cookies too! (those taste SO GOOD)

Shuakat (aka Meerkat Josh) gets to occasionally sit on Jeonghan's lap during Tissue Club therapy sessions. :3

Woozi's robot reminds me of this engineer on YouTube who would send a robot toy car (look it up) with cash to a store to buy something, & the store staff (equates to grandma in this MV) followed the included shopping instructions to a tee.

I need to know how the camera crew filmed DK's pet rock in midair... definitely has to be easier than sending a microphone+camera into outer space.

The rest of the MV after that could pass as "In the SOOP" footage, & the fireworks remind me of old "You're watching Disney Channel" intermission screens.
