May I please get for Copper...
16 and 2
And then... H!
And after that...
🏳️‍🌈 - First queer character/story you wrote
Please and thank youuuuu
Hullo Winter! 💕 Sorry I'm so late getting back to you. ^^
2) First time meeting their best friend.
They meet in Fort Dawnguard. Serana spoils the end of the book they're reading to expedite the start of a meeting, and Copper's amused more than anything else (they'd already read that book). During the meeting, Copper informs their cousin of their intent to search a Silver Hand hideout. Serana volunteers to join them, and to the surprise of many, Isran agrees to it. They find have a lot in common, and they travel together quite often after that.
16) First thing they remembered feeling ashamed of.
Agreeing to follow Vaermina in the hopes it would stop their mother's experiments. They felt like they were betraying their father by even thinking it.
H. First time sharing a bed (non-sexual)
Well, Vilkas and Copper started as FWB, so hmmm. It's very difficult to think of... I think... after visiting Windhelm together. Vilkas was so used to going anywhere as a Companion, he didn't think about how having an Imperial mage with him in Windhelm might be perceived. It was a very stressful day.
First time sharing a bed with Lewin in a non-sexual manner was when they found out they were soulmates. They'd had a very long discussion about it, and were all pretty exhausted.
🏳️‍🌈 - First queer character/story you wrote.
This one is a bit of an interesting one. See, I was closeted to myself for years. But after realizing that I wasn't straight, I discovered that a lot of the characters in a story everything I wrote in High School/early College weren't either. 😂😂 So, first queer characters were a Gay dragon King/bard, a lesbian assassin/bard, a bisexual Queen, and a bi merchant and her lesbian dragon wife. (and I just realized that probably 75%+ of my dragon characters in that universe are some stripe of queer. 😂)
First queer character of a story I shared on AO3... That would be Nevian. My Dragonborn Silka's brother.
thank you for the ask! 💕💕

For the firsts ask: 9, 15, P, ✒️ ?
Hello Vivi!! Thank you for stopping byyyy <3
✑ First time living away from home
I'll answer for my Arch-Mage Octeagan! I believe he left Cyrodiil on . . . not the greatest terms. I suspect he killed his father, which drove his mother mad, and so he left his mother and sister behind to pursue his magical talent. Despite his intelligence, it was difficult for him--not because leaving behind his family was hard, but because Skyrim is just so damn harsh and cold. He managed it well enough though, as he eventually gets to the college and. Does fucked up shit from there what can I say LJSFLGJDFLGK
✑ First thing they remember feeling proud of
Wynn was very proud when she successfully stole something the first time. Probably some pretty jewellery off of a rich Altmer at a party. Not the best thing to be proud of, but hey, it was better than the bitter disappointment from her parents! So, naturally, it became habit, and then . . . well. She ends up in the Thieves Guild at some time or another and thrives in it
✑ First time seeing the other all dressed up
I am actually so sad that Vigdis and Serana don't get to do the Thalmor Embassy quest. I think I wanted to write a one-shot about it, but never did, and ultimately it isn't canon. For them, anyway. Now . . . I have had this thought. Wynnarwe, my Altmer Thieves Guild/Nightingale idiot, has four other siblings. Her youngest sister, Rulve, ends up sometimes being possessed by their Dwemer ancestor, which is . . . fun! And Rulve ends up joining the Thalmor and getting mixed up with Elenwen's kids. So, what I'm saying is, I keep thinking about Rulve showing up to this party in all her short beauteousness and the daughter of Elenwen being very flustered about it. Alas that is a project maybe for me to tackle some day dkfghdlhgdfhg
✑ First shortform/oneshot you've written
OH BOY. Uhh. I know I've said it before, but my fic was originally a series of one-shots! As for what was first, I'm . . . not sure! It was probably something original. Maybe the one about the murder lesbian? . . . . It might've been that. I wrote one-shots for a long time for a few different fandoms after my Creepypasta stuff because I felt I didn't have the time or energy or skill to do a complete work again--clearly, I was wrong, and am glad for that.

WIP Wednesday
I haven't done one of these in a hot minute because I haven't been writing a whole lot, BUT I scrounged something up today. I was tagged over the past few weeks by my dear friends @skyrim-forever @thequeenofthewinter @bostoniangirl21 @throughtrialbyfire thank you all! I'm looking forward to catching up on everyone's art and writing :))
tagging forward: @elavoria @sheirukitriesfandom @ladytanithia @saltymaplesyrup @vivifriend @miraakulous-cloud-district <3
From Slither and Writhe Chapter 7 (in which we finally get to Whiterun)
“Four fingers.” Sylawen looked at her raised fist and frowned. “Not quite.” “Three! Three fingers then. Wait, no, wait. Two. There, that’s my final answer.” “You don’t get a prize for guessing the correct amount, Thrynn. Can you count them or not? The whole point of this exercise is to assess the damage and determine whether or not you can see anything.” “I can see just fine,” Thrynn grumbled, lowering the hand shielding his left eye to glare at her through its swollen, purple lids. Sylawen hesitated to call it his ‘good’ eye. It was more so his ‘least terrible’ eye. Even ‘better eye’ seemed too generous. “Vision’s always been shit from afar, that’s all.” Sylawen could feel her lips twisting into an even deeper grimace the longer she stared at Thyrnn’s unfortunate face. She’d done what she could for the eye she’d stabbed, which, given their limited resources and her still depleted magicka, was not very much at all. “Well, you can detect shifts in light, at least. That’s promising. I’ll try another healing spell when I—” “Uh-uh.” Thrynn gave his head a small shake as he slipped the dirty bandage back over his eye. “No offense, lady, but I’m not letting you touch me again.”  Sylawen grit her teeth. There was an annoying stab of guilt whittling at the inside of her ribs. How was she supposed to know that Thrynn hadn’t really meant to kill her, that when he’d tried to stick her with his knife it was for the verisimilitude and nothing else?

Work-in-Progress Wednesday
I am emotional trash. Behold!
Tagging: @oblivions-dawn @dirty-bosmer @skyrim-forever @hircines-hunter @bougainvillea-and-saltwater
@umbracirrus @firefly-factory @vivifriend @bostoniangirl21
“Ulfric, I asked you a question, and you will answer me.” She leans her forehead against his as her voice drops into a whisper. “I will come back. I have to.”
He swallows against the lump in his throat, his answer quiet and forced, “I hear you.”
“Good. Then that is settled.” Dahlia sighs as she pulls back from him, and her fingers move to unfasten a small chain from her neck. With one quick motion, she raises her hands to place it over him.
“What’s this?”
“Something to remember me by.” She stands as and pulls her cloak from the back of her chair.
Ulfric looks down at the small gold pendant round his neck. It hangs from a delicate chain, something which would be better suited to her than him, but perhaps that is the point. For him to remember her while she is away. He thumbs at the gold piece before bringing it up to his face to study it closer. A swirling pattern of engraved Dragon’s Tongue covers the surface, and when he turns it to the side, he sees there is a hinge. “Is this a locket?”
She nods, her cheeks dusting a faint pink, as she walks to the bed and begins putting on her boots.
“And what is inside this locket you have given me?”
Over the last couple of days, between training sessions out in the Yard, Dahlia had been talking with several soldiers from the contingent she is to set out with. Many of them had spoken of their loved ones, wives, husbands, lovers, and what they would leave them with—ribbons, jewelry, letters. The list was endless, but none of those resonated with her. None of them seemed appropriate. No amount of jewels and no amount of words would ever be adequate when all she wanted to do was leave a piece of herself with him. So that is what she did.
Her answer comes to him quietly as she finishes lacing the tops of her boots. “It is a lock of my hair, braided together and tied with a small piece of lace.” Dahlia clears her throat as her cheeks warm even further. “…the lace came from my wedding dress.”

Tagged by wonderful @umbracirrus I know I tagged a bunch of people yesterday. I’ll tag a few of yall!
@mavariel @madamefluffnstuff @vivifriend @thequeenofthewinter @oblivions-dawn
Anyone else feel free to tag me
Have some Thea and Galmar brainrot
“I was Harbinger for six years. All I did was bring honor. And for what!? You wouldn’t let me join something that meant honor to me! So I left! I left cordially. Ysgramor would be rolling in his grave right now….” Thea spat again. Divines, her jaw hurt.
Galmar looked back. He’d never heard her raise her voice. In fact, he’d never heard her speak more than pleasantries to anyone else but him.
Galmar could see the anger that pooled in her eyes. Her clenched jaw. Her knuckles went white. She was ready to pounce.
“People still see you as Harbinger, despite you passing the mantle to me.” Vilkas growled.
Thea narrowed her eyes. “That’s your fault then.” She whispered. She turned away.
Galmar walked over to Thea. He put a hand on her shoulder. “You okay?” He leaned close as he whispered. He put his hand on her cheek where a large bruise started to form. He saw the swelling already. By Talos.
She nodded. “Aye.” She moved away and turned her back. “Just, get them out without harm. They were once family.” She looked over her shoulder at Aela and Farkas. Both looked considerably less angry. Farkas grabbed Vilkas’ shoulder.
Galmar turned and faced the Companions. “You best return to Jorrvaskr before we remove you by force, boy.” He grabbed the waraxe off his back.
Vilkas scoffed. “Gladly. Can’t stand the filth in here anyways. Can’t believe you would let them put Vignar on the throne. I know you hate him.” Vilkas whispered as he turned. The Companions followed after him.
Thea’s shoulders shook. Galmar couldn’t tell if it was from anger or…. He heard a sniff. She was crying. He walked over and put a hand on her shoulder. “Let’s go. Somewhere without people.” He directed her up the stairs and to the Great Porch. She nodded.
Thea walked around the area and made her way to the open end. She looked out onto the plains below. The mountains in the distance. She looked up and saw the first stars twinkling. The auroras started their dance when she finally spoke. “You can go back down. I’ll be okay.” She wiped her face.
“How’s your jaw?” He walked over and put his knuckle under her chin, moving her face to get a look at it. His eyes wandered to her lips when they parted for a moment and then up to her eyes.
Thea listened to Galmar’s heart before answering. “It does hurt. But, I’ll be fine. Vilkas doesn’t hit that hard.” She smiled a bit. “His brother now….” She felt tears prick the corners of her eyes. “Ah. They were my family for fifteen years. At least away from home. Sorry.” She tried to move her face, but Galmar placed his thumb on her chin, keeping her face in spot.
Galmar watched the auroras swirled in her eyes. The moons illuminated her face. Her lips. By Talos. He leaned forward. He needed to kiss her.
Thea watched. She felt her world stop. It also felt like she was spinning. She…. She had wanted to kiss him since they retrieved the Jagged Crown and…. Here she was. She leaned forward, her eyes half closed.
The doors burst open. “General!”
Galmar moved away. He thanked the Divines that there was a great distance from the door to where they were. He cleared his throat. He straightened out his armor and walked towards the soldier.
Thea watched him walk away. She was disappointed in the interruption. But, he had tried to kiss her. She smiled and leaned against the wall. She looked up and watched the sky.

WIP Wednesday/Teaser Thursday
Thank you so much for the tag @vivifriend
I did post a chapter but I can never resist teasing my poor readers.
This is from chapter 28 and I'm being incredibly mean to my characters. And by mean I mean beyond evil...
Guess who's going back to Windhelm???
.... Back to Nera's POV
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All she knew was they were going to Dawnstar and that was it.
“What would I be doing on your trip?” Nera asked, she was careful to keep her tone deferential and not too questioning to appease Calmlinde, she didn’t want to piss her off again. She had bruises around her chin for days after last time. “I want to be useful,” she added swiftly.
“Oh my dear, you will be,” Calmlinde answered, patting her head. “You and Silm-Ra will help me uncover fragments of my stolen research, like you did when we went on our last trip.”
The last trip had definitely been beneficial for Nera. There was no denying that. She still read those books most evenings, with each time she could feel something settle inside her, another layer to her magic. Working with Silm-Ra made her skin crawl slightly, but she had gotten used to his presence over the last few weeks. He was always there, in every lecture.
Sighing, Nera rolled up her essay and tied the scroll with a piece of thread before drinking more tea. Calmlinde watched her quietly. Nera didn’t like it. Calmlinde was never more dangerous than she was when she plotted silently. The silence became deafening in the small common room.
“Is that your last assignment?” she finally asked pointing at the scroll.
Nera nodded, tucking her hair behind her ears. “Yes, I was going to give it to Master Tolfdir before the Alteration lecture this morning.”
Calmlinde smiled. “So would that mean you’re finished for the semester?”
Nera fought back a frown, she could sense Calmlinde was building up to whatever she had to demand. She chose her words carefully as she answered. “There are still lectures over the next two weeks, but I suppose yes, I would be. Why?”
Calmlinde slid a note across the table to her. “A rather time sensitive request arrived today, just minutes ago actually. A matter of life or death and I’m the only mage available to answer it.”
Nera looked at the envelope with a frown, the writing was definitely desperate, and parts of the envelope were discoloured where tears had landed on it. “Really? What about Master Marence? If it’s that serious they would need a Restoration Master.”
Calmlinde’s eyes flashed and Nera bit her tongue. Obviously Calmlinde had snatched this request before the Masters and senior researchers could see it. It immediately made her suspicious and she wondered why Calmlinde brought it up.
“So, what’s the request?” she asked, keeping her tone even.
“Read for yourself,” Calmlinde said, her smug smile returning easily.
Nera had a horrible, sinking feeling about this but she did as she was asked. The envelope crinkled as she opened and looked over the request, her blood chilling at the contents. A young woman in Windhelm had been wounded with an incurable poison? Nera coughed and tried to clear her parched throat. The mere mention of Windhelm made her queasy.
“Falmer poison, gods… Wouldn’t Master Sleeps-In-Blossoms be better suited for this?”
Calmlinde took the envelope from her. “And you think I would pass up the opportunity to study this poison in action? Don’t be so foolish.”
Nera winced, recalling a passage in one of the books required for her Alchemy lessons. “It’s incurable though, or according to what I’ve read it is.”
Calmlinde’s teeth shone in the candlelight as she grinned. “So? Have you forgotten my area of expertise? Even if the girl passes away, it wouldn’t be for long.”
Nera shuddered. “I assume you intend to leave today?”
She was careful not to sound too hopeful, but two weeks without Calmlinde was dangerously tempting. It would let her enjoy the college more, spend leisurely afternoons in the Arcanaeum and even venture into town to take on some small jobs. She could earn some money and not need to depend on anyone else. Calmlinde’s next words dumped icy water over Nera’s flickering hopes.
“We will be leaving as soon as you deliver your little essay.”
“We?!” Nera squeaked, realising what Calmlinde meant. “As in…”
“You and I will be going to Windhelm before Dawnstar. Silm-Ra will also meet us there after dark.”

Hullo!
1, P and 💀 for the OC firsts? For any pairing you wish. ^_^
Hello vivifriend!!! Gonna answer for Josh and Erra on the second question, the final pertains to JoshxJiub. For the Character:
First big aspiration (i.e. what did they want to be when they grew up?) Josh never had an idea of what he wanted to do as a kid, his focus was concentrated more on getting through each day. His Grandmother had sights on him working in the family business as a negotiator/foreign representative to the EETC. As a result he's had an advanced education that rivals any high-born Imperial pencil pusher. He's fluent in Cyrodiilic, Dunmeris and High Elvish as well as a good working knowledge of Aldmeris. When his grandmother died and his family moved to Suran things changed. The plan was to get him away from his Grandfather's wrath. His mother had planned on signing him up for the Hlaalu Guard before his magicka came in (at around age 15/start of puberty.) His tendency to blow shit up at a moments notice and the fact that he started getting into mischief (petty crimes) early threw a bit of a spanner in the works. Joshi ended up working as a Mercenary who moonlights as a Dwemer expert.
For the Ship: P. First time seeing the other all dressed up Properly dressed up would have to be Teldryn and Erra's wedding. They chose a modified Ashlander ceremony and clothing-wise, it involves a lot of Ashlander silk. They actually have robes made for each other, and they first see each other in them on the day of the ceremony.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
I'll get this one finished soon guys, I gotta redo Joshi's hair because the file deleted that layer. For the Author:
💀 - First time writing character death, and how you felt about it
The first chapter of You is done from Jiub's perspective. It was intended to be sad on principle. I actually posted it a year ago today and have since written a second chapter that follows another character's death and the subsequent funerary rights performed by Ashlanders. I actually wrote The Nerevarine's Fair in one day during a hyperfocus and tbh I'm best when tackling either Horror or Tragedy....which probably says a lot about my own experiences but I really enjoy tugging at heartstrings through story.

Hi! For Silka 8 and for Silka and Kaiden V, for you 🎬
Hullo! 💖
8) First time they took a risk, or the biggest risk they've ever taken
Silka takes risks far too often. She doesn't know the meaning of temperance. XD
But I'd say..., the risk that could have turned out the worst was when she agreed to get the Beast Blood. She absolutely was not in the right state of mind for it. And things did not go particularly well.
V. First time they felt insecure/jealous, and how they worked through it.
I think the first time Kaidan felt insecure in their relationship was when Lucien joined their group. He knew he was developing feelings for Silka and was agitated at the change in dynamics. It took getting to know Lucien, and being quick to take opportunities for alone time with Silka to change things.
Silka had flashes of insecurity for a good portion of the beginning of their relationship. Mainly because she worried she was leading him on in a way. She wasn't optimistic about defeating Alduin, and worried she'd hurt him in the end. It took some outside influence, (Viarmo and Farkas were big ones) but she stopped fighting her feelings.
🎬 - First fandom(s) you wrote for, and if you still write for them.
Lord of the Rings and Green Rider were the first fandoms I wrote for. ^^ And I have considered going back to them but right now Elder Scrolls has the biggest chokehold on my time. And LOTR in particular I need to re-familiarize myself with the canon before I dare touch it.
Thank you so much for the ask! 💕💕

And before I forget... 14 for character (or characters) of your choice? M for... Copper/Vilkas/Lewin? And 🤩 for good measure.
Hey Sixy. ^_^
14) First time facing their fears
Hmmm, since you asked about the triad for the other... let's grab Lewin.
He's in denial about a lot of his fears yet. Which is... fun. 😈 But when he was in his mid-teens he faced his fear of never making solid friendships with anyone close to his age. It was a lot easier than it could have been. Because Aurane approached him first. Broke the ice. But even though he was scared he'd mess it up somehow, he didn't back down from her overtures of friendship. And he found his best friend in the process.
M. First time they introduced the other as their partner
With Vilkas and Copper..., they never did really. They admitted to others there was attraction, and then they let word of mouth do the rest. They're very relaxed about it all. ^^ But with Lewin; Serana made them realize they'd have to. (she briefly worried he was trying to come between them). So, first Copper talked to Serana about him being with them. And then when they returned to Whiterun, when Farkas took the three of them aside, Vilkas took the opportunity to introduce Lewin as being their partner. (I haven't done Copper's intro of him to Brynjolf yet. But that's coming shortly and I'm looking forward to writing it. 😊)
🤩 - First big inspiration for writing (an author? a piece of media? a plot idea?)
Brian Jacques and the Redwall books and PBS series. I actually "borrowed" (stole) my older brother's copy of Redwall while he was at scout camp and read it behind the couch next to the vent. He had a lot of books that he got upset about me borrowing because he saw them as too old for me. (Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire comes to mind XD), So I was very careful to not get caught with Redwall. And the imagery in that book just stuck with me for... well forever. I still re-read the series when I can. Brian Jacques was a master writer. And I caught an interview or two from him (on PBS as well I think). He described his favorite writing habits and I thought it didn't seem too bad. And I started writing and telling stories.
thank you for the ask! 💕💕

1, 18, 20, and D for Silka from the OC/ship ask game! :^]
Hullo! Thank you for dropping by! 💕💕
First big aspiration (i.e. what did they want to be when they grew up?)
For Silka, her first big aspiration was to be a problem. XD Literally to find a way to survive in her current environment while making trouble for the people (her father) in charge.
18). First example of real character growth along their journey.
I'd say when she decided to break her word to Kaidan about using her magic. When she decided to stop putting other people's wants and needs over her own well-being.
20) First time they felt accepted/welcomed by another character.
She's had her brother Nevian with her for as long as she could remember. So, it's very rare for her to feel alone. (they joke/act like they're twins because while they have different mothers, they were born on the same day, and were raised together).
D) First kiss.
Kaidan and Silka first kiss in Falkreath. The night after deciding to keep traveling together for longer than originally planned.
thank you for the ask! 💕💕

Hello!! For the firsts ask: 1, 7, G, X, 🐣 and 🤯!
Hullo! 💕 I will answer for my triad since that's the fic I'm working on. ^_^
First big aspiration (i.e. what did they want to be when they grew up?).
Copper- Their first big aspiration was to escape their mother's cult with their father.
Lewin- His first big aspiration was to travel High Rock with his best friend and become as good a negotiator as his uncle Karic.
7. First time they experimented with their personal style
Copper- After leaving Dawnstar with Erandur. They still don't have a solid handle on their preferences but they're figuring it out. ^_^
Lewin- Probably when he was about 15. He'd long been exposed to different styles, and opted to mix things up a bit on one of his trips to Wayrest with his uncle Karic. (Karic kindly doesn't remind him of the velvet vest incident. Whether he'll bring it up after he meets Vilkas and Copper... well... we'll see. XD)
G- First time seeing the other one sick/injured.
Copper- First time seeing Vilkas injured was when clearing Shimmermist Cave. It wasn't too bad of an injury and he (predictably) brushed it off, despite their insistence in checking on it. First time seeing Lewin injured was when he took a bite to his shoulder when sparring with another werewolf in beast form. That wasn't a particularly bad injury for him so he also brushed it off. (Again when they tried to get a good look at it).
Vilkas- First time seeing Copper incapacitated was during a ritual for Kyne. He did not handle that very well. Panicked pretty hard. (granted, he was already panicking for reasons). First time seeing Lewin get injured was the same incident as Copper did. Being a werewolf himself, he accepted his dismissal of the severity.
Lewin- First time seeing Vilkas injured was when he spotted him on the road. (being vague). He was concerned that he was too weak to help him with a plan but figured he'd heal him as soon as he got the chance. First time seeing Copper injured was a short time later. He was displeased by their injury but just settled on healing them both at once.
X. First major hardship they got through together
Copper and Vilkas went through a fair bit before meeting Lewin. But their first major hardship together was when they wound up in the Myriad Realms.
It was difficult in different ways for all three of them. But they came out of it accepting their bond in a way that had been difficult for one of them to accept previously.
🐣 - First piece you ever wrote (share a snippet or description)
Hmmm, dang. First piece I ever wrote and shared on AO3 was a one-shot where I explored the idea of a character being as terrible as his nemesis paints him.
🤯 - First story that gained traction/attention, and how it made you feel
My second one-shot, Return to Nirn was just a smut piece with the LDB and Tsun. Honestly, I wasn't terribly surprised that a smut fic would get so many hits but it amuses me. (I've learned a lot since then, especially about tagging). Every once in a while I contemplate nabbing their daughter to send through the Dawnguard storyline but if I ever do, it'll be a while longer.
thank you for the ask!!! 💕💕💕

Hello! For the OC asks game, number 15 for Lewin.
Hmmm. Fight or Flight for Lewin.
Not surprising from a werewolf demi-prince, his first instinct is to fight. An instinct that has resulted in his triggering more than one trap. That he's so far survived every trap means he sees no reason to curb that habit...
The only thing that can get him resorting to flight first is if both he and his wolf spirit are uneasy about the opponent they're facing. (for example: he wouldn't want to face Harkon or a dragon head on without backup or at least a solid plan).

HI!! for the fanfic ask game, B, F, H, and S!!
Good to see you. ^^
B: Any of your stories inspired by personal experience? Not specifically. Or, not on purpose at least. XD But I will often draw on lived experiences/personal knowledge for certain events.
F: Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it. I've always loved the Gildergreen. But I've always hated how the quest works out when you accompany Maurice. It never made sense to me that he'd wait until you'd cut on all the roots to say something. So, I twisted it for Learning Curve, and I'm still pleased with how the scene and dialogue turned out.
-
"This way," Maurice said.
"Danica suggested you might have advice for me," Copper said, keeping pace with him.
"Did she? Odd. I might have a few suggestions I suppose," he agreed, leading them along the path that ran above a gurgling stream.
Vilkas looked down into the area, noting the handful of armored people mingling with those in plain clothes. I hadn't realized there were so many devotees of Kyne left. Short-sighted of me.
"Your first challenge," Maurice announced, stopping by a massive root blocking the path. "You must make it past the roots of the Eldergleam," he nodded toward Copper's belt, "that dagger would easily persuade the root to move if you cut it."
"But?" Copper asked.
"Rely on your instincts. What does your heart compel you to do?" he asked, watching them closely.
Silently they approached the root, the pups hanging back with Vilkas, watching as they ran their hand over scars in the root. "People have cut on this before," they said.
"Many times."
Drawing Nettlebane they lifted it, hesitating, frowning, resting the flat of the blade on the root, staring at it, looking up. After a long moment they sheathed Nettlebane swiftly and backed up nearly to where Vilkas stood, taking a steadying breath before dashing forward, leaping up, barely managing to get their hand at the top of the root, swinging themself up and over it, dropping to the other side with a thump and Vilkas startled. Will that be too high? Will they go still again? Or not until the adrenaline runs out?
With a painfully loud creak, the root moved, lifting entirely off the path and he stared at it, dumbfounded.
Maurice smiled and nodded slightly to Copper as they joined them. "In all my years, you are the first to have managed to scramble over it in one go," he said warmly.
"What have you seen?" they asked.
"I've seen a handful manage to climb it, many more who slashed at it, particularly after seeing the blade scars. Only one of them wielded Nettlebane in the past," he sighed, gaze going distant before he shook himself out of his reverie. "Many give up and turn back, stymied by what they see as an insurmountable obstacle. Some promise to return one day and," he smiled down at the hollow. "Some of them do, they devote their lives and their blades to Kyne as one of the sanctuary's protectors. Let's continue."

H: How would you describe your style? Hmm, I think that I tend toward character driven. I like to focus on how the characters interact with the world, which sometimes means being sparse on details of surroundings. (something I'm working on).
S: Any fandom tropes you can’t resist? Soulmates and Hurt/Comfort. Especially if those two are combined. ^^ I'm not generally one for Hurt/No Comfort but give me angst to make the fluff sweeter and I'm a happy camper. ^_^ And combining soulmates with hurt/comfort makes for a glorious time.
Thank you for the ask! <3

O , X for fanfic questions ! :3c
Hi! <3
O: How do you begin a story–with the plot, or the characters? Characters, always. Especially when it comes to OCs. ^_^ It then basically becomes a 'what-if' this character or OC is put in this situation?
X: A character you enjoy making suffer. Ooh, hmmm. There are several. XD But Brynjolf. I love him but he's so much fun to write angst for.
Thank you for asking! <3

Hmmm... for the edgy ask meme, how about 25 for Silka?
My favorite thing about Silka. Hmmm. I'd have to say it's her love of music. It's a great indicator of her moods. If she's playing something, she's in a pretty good mood. If she's working on a composition; she's probably working through some feelings. ^_^
