Time system
i want to put the time system that I wrote for my world because I really like it.
The humans of the world center their dating system around the day that Atron Ojan won the war against the elves, uniting most of humanity with him into the 'Ojalana Empire'. They put the founding of the Ojalana Empire as the first day of year zero.
They mostly break down the years into 4 seasons based on the periodic rising and falling of the Xultan (ecks-ul-tan)
Seasons are not equal in time, the stable levels last longer than the periods of rising and falling
(Agorophillic) marked when the Xultan river starts to rise from its lowest level to its highest. It is characterized by colder temperatures and strong winds that could bring storms. Lasts for 3 months this is also when the Mer have their annual migration from the Cristlyn ocean to the Honist ocean
(Agorosill) marked when the river stabilizes at it’s high level, lasts for 6 months, cold dry weather marks this time
(Deciphillic) marked by the river starting to fall from its highest point to its lowest point. Very rainy with windy days and warm weather. Lasts for 3 months this is when the mer migrate back to the Cristlyn ocean
(Decisill) low stability/ marked by the river stabilizing at its low points. Warm, slightly humid weather with light rains. Lasts for 6 months.
1 month is 64 days.
There are 18 months in one calendar year:

Things my old head father think are good Baby shower gifts instead of looking at the fucking registry:
A single big ass Aloe vera leaf (for her belly apparently)
A bottle of Vitamin E oil (after I explained that she wanted a certian lanolin free nipple cream)
A set of camo and fishing themed onesies
A promise to buy three things of diapers when the baby get here so he can get the baby the right size in case hes a big baby
Complaining to me about what the fuck is nipple cream and that she just need vitian E oil or shea butter and to put more ginger in her diet
Complaining to me that I dont need to buy the anticolic baby bottles that are on the registry because none of use had colic and that somebody else may bottles and then she'll have too many bottles when you literally cant have too many baby bottles
Complaining to me about the difference between an easy swaddle blanket and a receiving blanket and that the baby is gonna have too many Blankets
Lecturing me about baby socks
If hes gonna do this for every grandchild (in this case great grand son) he ain't getting shit but impressively large house plants from me

Yay my original humanoids which is a mix of orcs, fauns and reptelians has been designed - sorta - and I call them Rexens!
Rexens
The rexens is one of the 4 major humanoid species. The other species is Humans, Elven and beastmen. Rexens can most easily be described as a mixture of orc meets faun meets reptilian people. In general are they 1-3 heads taller than the humans and are often muscle strong. Most of their variants from country to country has no major visible difference between males and females, and they are often known to have a lot of intersex people between them. Most of them mark if they are male, female or intersex through earrings.
Rexens walk on the front of their feet like an animal and most of them has big and strong tails. Only the northern version got shorter, weaker and more stumpy tails. Females, despite maybe having some visible difference will always be flat chested unlike the humans and beastmen. Rexens eyes are usually red, pink or purple but their Nordic counterparts may sport yellow and blues too.
Most cases they dress like their fellow humanoids in the different areas they live. They are able to breed with Humans and Elven, often resulting in the creation of a beastman. The Beastmen as a humanoid specie in itself is basically the evolutions of some of the first Rexen and human breeding and usually live as an independent humanoid specie today, though the mixing still happens and is more pure than the actual beastmen.
Variants:
Frayciën:
The Frayciën variant has exchanged the scales for fur and are thinner and less muscle strong than their fellow Rexens from around the world. They are also between those with major visible difference between male and female. The males have bigger horns, ears, and teeth. In winter, their fur becomes extra thick. Height wise they are usually 1-2 heads taller than humans, but in some cases, they may be on height with the humans.
In early days of the Frayciën culture where they were seen upon as gods and are still to this day highly regarded as the protectors of the land.
They mainly live of plants and vegetables from underground which they split apart with their big teeth by dragging it down over.
Qutetish:
There used to live a Qutetish variant of the Rexens until a few hundred years ago where the humans and Elven of Qutetish began killing Rexens, beastmen and nomads. It is said there still live some and their genetics may occasionally show up around the world, but since they are officially written as extinct does very little know and hold on to the knowledge about how they look.
Donchatish:
Donchase lays right below Fracië and therefore do they share common traits, though the Donchatish version has scales on their backs and generally smaller ears and horns. They do have fur on rest of their body, but usually in a thinner layer there in the winter usually becomes thick around the head, neck and their main body to keep in heat.
Both males and females are often seen with shorter haircuts though, but their difference comes in the female having smaller ears, horns and teeth. The female even has more pointy ears than their male counterpart and are usually of a more stable and thicker built. Just like those from Frayciën are they only around a head taller than humans, and often seen to be human height too.
They live mainly of plants, berries and underground vegetables like their fellows from Fraycië, but also include meat in their diet in form of rodents and birds.
Kanakarian:
The Kanakarian version seem to have gone fully extinct all by itself. No one is really sure if there has been one for the area in itself, but the usual Rexens to live around here seems to be of either Paskarian or Ardelian origin.
Shuirinian:
The Shuirinian Rexens doesn’t only have teeth pointing upwards but so called also some pointing downwards. They usually have medium sized horns pointing inwards and slimmer eyes. It is said the slim eyes happened due to the rainforests – this means in terms of avoiding getting insects and plants in the eyes as they would run and move around on their hunts. Despite this they are often seen living of smaller animals like fish, rodents, birds and small deer like creatures.
Builtwise are they sportier in their muscle-built and stand around 2-3 heads taller than the humans. Blue earrings indicate female, green for intersex and red for males.
Raeyerian:
The Raeyerians are big, dark and scaly. Despite the maybe scary looks are they known to be a kind people – towards everyone else but themselves. Some will be chosen out as kids to be the sexual toys for the pack and get marked with two earrings in either black, gold or silver in one of their ears. At times they may choose out a human, beastman or elven even if their lust is too great to control.
It is best said to not stay overnight in a Rexen town in Raeyeria due to them becoming beasts at night while being super friendly at day.
The stand with a heavy muscle built and a giant strong tail and are good 3 heads taller than the humans there is around. Their food source is usually rodents, smaller fox-like creatures, insects, snakes and local amphibians.
Gold earrings means male, silver earrings means female and lack of earrings means intersex.
Ardelian:
The ardelian variant is around 2 heads taller than humans, has small horns pointing upward and big floppy ears. They are built just as strong as the Raeyerian variant but is less sexual and has smaller teeth. They appear to be slightly more dump than many of the other variants and are still despite the evolutions in the world – quite primitive. A few though has made it into the human society.
The humans mostly just let them live in their own small villages and take care of themselves.
They have medium sized tails, though strong. Their scales are rather small though. They live of farming – this includes cows, pigs and sheep are included in their diet.
Here the size of the earrings plays a part in telling the gender. Big earrings means male, medium for intersex and small means female.
Dotish:
Being much lighter in color and their scales being blue has something to do with their food. Their food is primarily the local fish which contains lots of minerals, some which has changed the pigment of these scaly Rexens. It has turned their scales blue while their non-scaled parts are in light skin color. Their teeth are primarily small though and they have small upwards horns on their forehead.
They are strongly built and has long, strong though slim tails. They are only the size of humans though.
Their earrings have symbols. Cross for female, line for male and lower circle + cross for intersex. They are skeptical of humans and elven and prefer to live away from them but has adopted the human technologies.
Vitian:
The vitian variant is another furrier variant of Rexen, being placed along Fraycië and Donchase. Their horns are curlier and more uncontrollable, not growing in same rates nor same way, resulting in them having two different horns nearly. Their ears are floppy and hanging and they usually have longer hair. They have small scales on their back and has a shorter tail, though not so much fur on it.
They mainly live off fish from the rivers and sea, but also includes fruits and vegetables in their diet when fish can’t be caught. Unlike most other Rexen they care the least about gender and doesn’t even matter showing it off for everyone to know.
The Vitian variant is incredible smart but prefer to be alone and far away from other humanoids. They are often found to be the singular farmers outside of villages and their numbers are falling due to them wanting to be alone.
Noshurilien:
The Noshurilien variant of Rexens is unlike its north-western neighbors not of a slim and sporty built but now leaning over in the bigger muscular built. They are mostly scaly on most of their bodies but are bare on the front where they have extreme volume of chest and stomach fur hair.
They have medium sized horns going in a bit of a half moon shape. Their tales are medium length and slim as it’s made more to keep balance than to be of some help to lift things.
The earrings placement plays in on gender here. On the tip we got males, in the middle is intersex and close to the head is females.
The Noshurilien variant lives equally to any other humanoids but are often found in industries requiring bigger muscles like building, timberwork and guarding.
Paskarian:
The Paskarian variant is an outlier for the Nordic Rexens, as it’s lighter of skin and has purple scales and darker purple hair. Their horns are made more as a defense circle around their heads. Unlike their fellow Rexens do they have an overbite instead of an underbite as well. They have a long and strong tail suitable for their big and strong bodies as they stand 3 heads taller than the humans. They use fur hats to warm their head most of the year as their bodies are made for warmer areas (from the days Paskaria used to be warmed up by the sea). Human structure took a lot of the warmth away over the years.
The number of rings in the earrings plays a part in gender telling. One ring means male, two means intersex and three means females.
The Paskarian variant lives in the mountains, hunted away from human villages. They are small in numbers and only seem to become smaller and smaller in their numbers.
Dacharen:
The Dacharen variant is very dark both in skin and scales. They even have scales on their head. Standing 2 head taller than humans, can they look intimidating, but overall are a kind people. They even cut off their horns to appear more friendly. Females and males have same face structure, but only males get facial hair. Their eyes are incredible dark, and they tend to live of the local wildlife like horses, oxes and goats.
They have long and strong tails to match their big and strong bodies, but they are more athletic built than their neighbors.
The Dacharen variant lives equally to other humanoids.
Meizen:
The Meizen variant is sporty built and has long and pointy ears. Their horns leans back, and they have weird pupils which is said to come from the fact that Meiss is very svampy. They also have dark purple They have small teeth and live off smaller creatures like rodents and birds but also live of local plants, berries, and vegetables.
Their earrings goes the same as the Ardelian variant. Small ones are females, medium is intersex and big ones are males.
The Meizen variant lives a more luxury life and are seen as the better “man” in the community. The humans often offer gifts and helpful services for the Rexens of the Meizen variant.
Beizenian:
The Beizenian variant is very much like their neighbors. Lighter skin with blue scales and purple hair. Their teeth are bigger, though round and used to split fruits and vegetables apart.
They are only slightly taller than humans but are very muscular built and has long and strong tails.
The earrings are made to say filled out = male. Hole = female. Hole and earring in it = intersex.
They aren’t looked greatly upon and are actually hunted by humans as a form for trophy – this means winning over someone bigger and stronger than you. Many tries to flee to the mainland but some of these smugglers sell them out.

A fragment from 'Adoxa at the End of Everything'
Anemone might be one of the five Vitians alive in the whole world, as far as she knows at least, and the world is freezing over too. (In her world what we'd call 4 seasons is one year-cycle of four years and lasts almost 20 of our years)
In this dead world Anemone sneaked with Scilla through overwhelming silence in which the flakes slowly fell down. It gave her the impression of peace and the feeling that time itself was slowing down. Still, the two girls were constantly on their guard because at any moment they could be attacked: beasts, barbarians, fellow citizens, nothing and no one could be trusted in this world beyond the end of time, and sudden death could come from anywhere! How long had it been since the barbarian army had raged here in the city? At least 10 bigmooncycles, but it still seemed like yesterday for Anemone. She remembered the grand speech of General Drosera, who had addressed the small population of Oxa with fire and passion as the enemy army came into view. Everyone had taken up arms without even knowing what the unknown army was coming to do. It had all been sheer suicidal madness: the Oxans had thrown themselves into battle without warning or negotiation, and the barbarians, much more numerous than them, had responded with much better weapons and trained soldiers. As had been predictable, Drosera and all of her men had fallen, even without really inflicting much damage on the enemy. Anemone had been a little smarter and kept far from the fray. She had been hiding in a building, where she could see everything in the distance with her binoculars. All the people she'd known all her life had died before her eyes. She had barely dared to move for days, but no one had found her or bothered her.
The babarian army hadn't stayed long. Patrols had surveyed the town superficially, taking books and documents from the town hall. For some reason they hadn't found the university, miles away and overgrown by young clumps of climbing holly and bean vines, or at least not found it worth a visit. Anemone had seen from her hiding place how the cursed barbarians had buried her own people in a mass grave. They had even given them a funeral ceremony, with some sort of priest. Then they had left again, after installing some of their flags in a few strategic places. And then the great silence had come . Anemone was left alone, without her former "friends" with their pessimistic rhetoric about how it was all over. Still, loneliness and silence had been worse than anything she'd known before the battle. I'd rather be people you disagree with, even if you can't trust them completely, than be all alone in the world and have no-one. Humans are still social animals, and after a few days the loneliness had already become heavy. It hadn't mattered much if she'd given up, but still she kept waking up, doing certain things automatically, gathering food, keeping the fire going with firewood, taking care of her clothes, and the like as if her life depended on it, which it might have done.
It wasn't until days later that she discovered that she hadn't been the only one to survive the attack. First Scilla had emerged from the bushes, and later had encountered Berberis and Ribes, who were caring for old Granny Welwitchia together. They hadn't been her best friends before, but she had clung to them and not let go of Scilla for an hour after finding her fellow survivors. And so the group had grown to a full five Oxans in a desolately frozen snowscape, where half a million people had lived in this major college town, which had seldom seen snow or ice in its history, just a lifetime ago. There was no certainty left.

Which one is better: VIT or MIT Manipal?
Academic Structure
Manipal: Rigorous curriculum, has 2 open electives and six program electives. Limited flexibility as of now (2016). Each major allows a minor specialization based on the program electives chosen. MIT Manipal is introducing minors soon, although I can’t confirm when.
VIT: Rigorous curriculum, and has a Fully Flexible Credit System. I’ve heard that the FFCS can be a boon or a bane, but for the purpose of this discussion, I’ll assume it’s a pro. VIT also offers minors in the engineering disciplines, and their own version of a “double major”, where they allow you to major in one engineering and one management field.
Note: Both of these universities have academically rigorous curricula. The difference is in terms of flexibility.
Faculty
Can’t comment on this, only someone who has attended both can compare them. From what I’ve heard, both of them have professors ranging from great to mediocre.
International Recognition
I’d hate to break it to all the naive people out there, but both of these institutes are pretty unheard of outside of India. The only Indian institutes with any international recognition are the IITs. Period.
Student Population
Manipal: Annual intake of about 1800 students. Lower population, less crowded, better faculty to student ratio.
VIT: Annual intake of about 3600 students. If Quora posts are anything to go by, I’ve heard that VIT is getting a bit overcrowded.
Campus Life
Manipal: More liberal atmosphere, less restrictive rules. There are a couple of beaches nearby.
VIT: More restrictive place, with a few strict rules (need confirmation here, but I’m only writing it based on what other VITians have said on Quora). Especially tough towards girls.
Proximity to cities
Manipal: The closest city is Mangalore, which is about an hour and a half away. Bangalore is about 9 hours away.
VIT: The closest cities are Chennai and Bangalore, so they are more easily accessible.
Hostels
Manipal: I’ve heard they’re better than a lot of colleges in India. Rooms are pretty great, with plenty of options available. Hostel fees are higher.
VIT: I Heard they were overcrowded in some cases, generally described as “okay”. Lower hostel fees.
Course Fees
Now, this is where it gets interesting.
Manipal: Generally has higher fees.
VIT: Has lower fees than Manipal for Category 1 and 2 students. For Categories 3, 4, and 5, the fees are much higher than Manipal’s.
Placements
Both of the universities fare well here, so I won’t go into detail about this. The statistics can be found online.
Opportunities to go abroad
Manipal: IAESTE and AIESEC provide plenty of opportunities to go abroad. Additionally, there is a new semester abroad program between Manipal and its partner universities in several countries. Costs vary, but usually, you pay tuition at your home institution (Manipal), which is pretty much included in your course fee, and you have to take care of the living costs yourself. IAESTE provides technically paid internships. Research work can be carried out in any other university during the 8th semester.
VIT: Has a Semester Abroad Program (SAP), where you pay tuition at the university you choose to attend, and you have to take care of the living costs. VIT is also one of the universities in India eligible for the DAAD scholarships, which helps those who wish to conduct research work at a German university.
Undergraduate research experience
Both provide opportunities to conduct projects with professors. I’ll add more to this section if I can find any new information.
Pursuing higher studies after graduating
Again, both do well in this section as well. Graduates from both universities have gone on to great grad schools, and are doing pretty well. Check the alumni on LinkedIn and see where they are. You’ll notice that all of them are in good places.
Neither of the two has an advantage over the other here.
College Fests
Each of them has two fests.
Manipal: TechTatva and Revels.
VIT: Riviera and graVITas.
Extracurricular Activities and Student Clubs
Both have a huge number of clubs dedicated to various activities.
Technical teams and competitions (mainly SAE)
Manipal: Has more well-recognized teams, who are doing pretty well internationally and have won quite a few awards and international recognition, and have been consistently ranked amongst Asia’s best teams.
VIT: Has a larger number of teams, but they have not achieved the same level of recognition. They do relatively well internationally.
Alumni
I’m so tired of people using this as a criterion. Just because Satya Nadella and Rajeev Suri graduated from Manipal, doesn’t mean that this indicates how good the university is.
Conversely, just because VIT doesn’t have any notable alumni, does not mean that VIT isn’t good.

Karlemon’s Lands: The Second Age of Man
The Titan War (1022-24CE). The isolationist edicts of Andromache Purecrow, Queen of the Giants brought assurances to the mortal realms that all of jotunkind would be more considering of those whom in the past they had trodden underfoot. These policies would raise the ire of an ambitious young general by the name of Sintan Scarbrand, who was quick to abandon his queen’s orders and declare a war of conquest on the lowlanders.
Together with his army of goliaths raised from the giants’ own military and mercenary orcs and hobgoblins, the ‘Hell’s King’ as he now fashioned himself launched an invasion of Isagor through the Great Gate of Myvarheim, laying siege to all of Doros. The war quickly escalated into a internecine war between Scarbrand’s followers and loyalists of Queen Andromache, culminating in the slaying of Scarbrand by the Queen’s Champion, a devotee of Stronmaus by the name of Uthal Skywatcher.
The Herald's War (1230-41CE). The fall of the great elven empire of Ar-Partholon produced three splinter kingdoms; Thran’Manil, Nev-raast and Ouranaiel. The latter of these held a much greater resemblance to the old hierarchy of its predecessor, city states ruled over by patricians loyal to an autarch. The last of the pretenders to the dominion of old was Xhalth Heilar, a bastard son of the House of Ilthuryn, once patricians of Asfa Dorei.
An ambitious man, he sought glory and a rise to the throne of a reborn Ar-Partholon through the explicit means of conquering the human kingdoms since known as Karlemon’s Lands. In a nation where barely a generation had passed since their humiliation at the hands of the King of Man and the Lord of the Wyrmspine, his hateful rhetoric and warmongering ambition found fertile ground.
After coming to the patricianship of his ancestral city, he raised a naval expeditionary force with the alliance of the other city states, targeting human shipping through intense piracy and eventually attempted an invasion of Melita, seat of the Order of the Platinum Dragon and long-time ally of Tylia and Cosima. Isolated and estranged from the natives of the island, the Order were thought to be easy targets. However, this is where the story takes a strange turn.
During the siege of Fort Kamyrian from 1239-41, two City Patricians were killed; Omael of Ulln Edhil and Valoel of Emel Caelora and over eight thousand elven troops perished, in exchange for two hundred paladins of the Knights of Bahamut's Grace and four hundred coalition sailors. As for Xhalth Heilar, he was executed on the steps of the Black Ziggurat by Asmodei, son of Omael for ‘leading astray the children of Irkalla’.
The War of the White Tree (1254-57). The tensions of the Period of the Two Brother Kings could not be contained forever in the land of Valarre. Contested sovereignty of the land, continued and sustained campaigns of insults and political rivalry bred deep contempt between the two branches on opposing sides of the River Alard.
The two patriarchs of the Karolin and Deucalion lines; Alberic I and Arnulf III respectively were the two to break the peace following Arnulf’s alleged attempted blackmail of Alberic’s daughter Judith into marrying him. The two houses marshalled their forces at Martillac and Anlec, awaiting the move of the other. It would not be long in coming.
The first clash would be on the outskirts of the town of Vaugeois between Deucalion forces and the levies of House Sylvestre where Arnulf’s son Evrard would order the massacre of prisoners, setting the tone for the rest of the war. It ended dramatically three years later with the alliance of the Karolins with House Orsini of Cosima and the besieging of Anlec in 1257, when all members of House Deucalion were put to the sword.
The Outlaw War (1260-78CE). The colonization of the Taman Peninsula by the Dalecarii has oft been scrutinised and the foolhardiness of it debated by the likes of the Arcanum Nobilite, given the reaction of displaced tribes and peoples of the Ugurzhna who had lived there for millenia. The Dalecarii would argue that it was definitely necessary given the repeated attacks over the Taman Strait by the same tribes.
This was all exacerbated by the building of the city of Kistalint on the Lacullus Plateau, a fortress-city in the same vein as Valdemar and Sarnika, defensible against all comers. It came as no surprise to the Lords of Kistalint that a single leader might unite the tribes against his bastion. That chieftain was Khagan Toothcracker, a colossal half-orc of the Winged Maw tribe.
Toothcracker was a phenomenal guerilla warrior, laying Kistalint to siege with repeated relentless attacks by sea against supply ships and settler ships, forcing the intervention of the Dalecarii navy and army, as well as the Order of the Wyvern, who suffered heavy casualties before being able to lure the chieftain to open battle and there defeat him through weight of numbers. His reign over the Tamani still inspires something approaching awe in the tribes local to the city of Yakurgan to the east.
The Lycaon Sedition (1290). The nation of Isagor has never been ruled by anything other than the Nesson Erathis in modern times, but before the union of the Isagori, splinter peoples of the Kanjani were thought to have lived in something resembling primitive monarchies along the western Cosiman border. The natives of this area consider themselves a people apart from both Cosima and Isagor, and call themselves Tolistoii, or ‘children of the ridges’. They are known to be fiercely independent and to have a language and culture all their own.
The Tolistoii are oft caught in border disputes between the Isagori and the Cosimans with the former claiming their independence and the latter claiming their sovereignty of the border tribes. On occasion this has come to blows, but only once has it risen to all-out war, under the hands of the infamous noble Stavros Lycaon, who raided the Tolistoii holdings in the Pylaens under the guise of ‘claiming what was his’ as dictated by his supposed ancestry having royal claim in the area.
Not content with having attacked an innocent people, Lycaon then deigned to spark open rebellion amongst the local nobility, claiming kingship over the Tolistoii, who were very much against it. The Nesson Erathis, under Lycaon’s political rival Antaeus Jocasta, deigned not to send the Order of the Bull, but to send local troops from the city of Ileumos, who were deployed on a naval exercise in the Vestal Sea off Kastokas.
In a guerilla war that lasted seven months, the Isagori with the aid and knowledge of the Tolistoii laid waste to Lycaon’s holdings, the supposed kingdom he was trying to expand into Isagor proper. The seditionist was dragged before the Nesson Erathis, watched over by the assembled chieftains of the Tolistoii, who made sure that he was executed and his dismembered body was buried in the Pylaen foothills as a memorial to his hubris.
The Treaty of Clannet (1295). Signed between the rival dynastic factions of Karolin and Orsini to avoid open war in Karlemon's Lands, this treaty mediated by the Arcanum Nobilite details the rights, protections and duties levied on representatives and members of the Vitian Pact and Knight’s League moving through opposition or allied lands.
With the consolidation of the various nations of Karlemon’s Lands into two rival power blocs and the declaration of Isagor’s neutrality, the leaders of the kingdoms met to discuss and lay out the rights of each citizen that travels in human-held territory and to codify the myriad and sometimes contradictory laws that citizens would obey in order to receive and make use of these rights.
There was also a great deal of interest in insuring that human populated islands that surround the main body of Karlemon’s Lands would receive equal and fair treatment and full citizenship under their respective governments, for example the Isle of Ramsar. The result was the Treaty of Clannet, signed at Castle Clannet on the eastern Valarris border with Fallsund.
The Nine Days Revolt (1299CE). Isagor has a long tradition of celebrated gladiatorial combat between fighter and beasts, rarely to ever more than first blood. It stretches back centuries to the quarterly festivals once dedicated to Bromos, god of the wild. Gladiators are known to be cunning warriors and are seen in Isagori society as consummate athletes and sportsmen.
So it is of the Archon of Manikon, Laodocus Tecmessa, once a gladiator in the employ of one Asius Diagoras, a former lawmaker and member of the Nesson Erathis. The former archon had been held in contempt of the chambers for accepting bribes from criminal gangs in Artepolis and as revenge sought to turn the city into his own personal fiefdom.
He treated his citizens like refuse, stripping them of all freedoms, including freedom of movement, speech and practice of religion. In response, the principled Tecmessa refused to fight in the arena for Diagoras. The tyrant was furious and ordered the gladiator executed for sedition. It was at this point that the athlete made his strength and honour known by leading the other members of his school in a popular uprising that overran the city.
Climaxing in the storming of the Heptarion Hill where the Archon's Palace is located, the rebels were joined by dozens of the Archon's personal garrison, equally as badly treated by the tyrant Diagoras. The captured archon was beaten until almost dead and then gifted into the hands of the Order of the Bull, who ensured a quick and fair trial before his execution.
