Dear readers,

It seems to me like a natural time to pause because, WHEW, the last two days have been intense in this here save.

My my my, for two families, Harvestfest was vastly different this year: Mercy Carruthers discovered that her son, for the first time, was never going to attend another family dinner unless she gets rid of her Problematic Boyfriend™.  An ultimatum that Mercy was not ready for and sobbed in her man’s arms, right in front of the lobster mac.  Can she win her son back? He’s the only family she has, he reminds her of “Her Jack”, she loves her son, she can’t do holidays without him!  Was Jayce too harsh? Did Jayce even mean it? 

As for The Drake Family, they loved having Hope home for the holiday, cooking together and lining her pockets before she left back to the mountain.

And then evening came....

Hope and Jayce met up at Hope’s place.  She brought him a plate, he ate and then the two hit a milestone they’ve been waiting for since the literal second she turned 18. It was beautiful and all that Hope dreamed it would be.  In fact, it was so good that the next morning she was making homemade biscuits for the brotha (chile...).  The next day, Indya magically materialized in Hope’s living room after Jayce left to take his Final and after Hope spent some time thinking in her bed about the big change in her life.  Not only did Indya provide some much needed comic relief but also reassurance to her daughter that she didn’t do anything wrong, she’s happy for her and a warning to not become a teenaged bride.

And here we are...
