Hey queen!!! So I was watching a baking show with my mom and it got me to thinking:

What would Suzy and/or Ginny's chosen wedding cake flavor be?

Of course, Jack made the cake he wouldn’t have it any other way. Suzy gets to be the center of attention and he’s happy to have that for his bride but he’s getting some recognition too.

Suzy loves Cheesecake so that’s what she got! It’s massive and tiered just like any other wedding cake, with a little wedding topper (the kids got together and made it as a gift :)

However! Each tier is a different flavor of cheesecake for the guests (it’s mostly their kids LOL) preferences.

Going from bottom to top

Santa and Virginia did not give a shit about their wedding, it was a ceremony entirely devised and for hells elite demon class and Lucifer himself. So there was a lot of dessert and an impressive hedonistic feast.

Evergreen pushed Santa to ask if Virginia wanted anything at all and she just kind of shrugged and went, “I like carrot cake.”

(Virginia likes to cook a lot of greasy artery clogging food but she actually grazes on small healthy things herself)

So that’s what she got.

For some reason she took a slice like a bird and then got really pushy about Santa eating the rest. Totally strange and out of character for her /s

Now, Xavier really loved Eloise. They were young lovers who fell for each other hard and fast, considering their circumstances of their families wanting them to marry to grow wealth and status they could have been very lucky. Eloise was the one who abused Suzy don't get me wrong but that never would have happened if he hadn’t pressured her to fulfill his dreams (not to mention what was expected of them) pertaining to being a father. This all being said he regrets the circumstances but he would never regret having Suzy, he only regrets not acting sooner and as he feels allowing Eloise to take her from him. I.e the first song is about Xavier and Eloise’s young love and the second is about Xavier’s feelings towards his daughter.

The first song is from Janet’s playlist but I think it fits with Virginia as well if you think of dancing not as a good coping skill but as a metaphor for the party life, drugs, sex, and rock and roll so to speak. She seems so confident and perfect, you won’t hear her talk about her problems because she’s too busy being high off her ass. This is because, leading in to the next song, she’s coping with deep seated fears on inadequacy and anxiety. Balancing a near demi-gd strength complex and severe imposter syndrome, like she doesn’t deserve her current status in life and something bad is bound to happen.

Ok I know these are do very different songs and it’s kind of silly lol, but, I think it's a matter of different stages of her life. As you may recall Anne Murray is Suzy's favorite musical artist. I like to think that after Jack, in her eyes, ghosted her and she was dealing with new emotions for the first time in her life she turned to music as dramatic young women tend to do. (Been there girl.) Now that she's an adult and come in to her true self we have the "Suzy Snowflake" child...i can't call her a child predator dear gd 💀a...slasher who kills children persona. She's not as "on the level" of the children as the song is but she's very good with them but not good FOR them.

I’ve been thinking on Suzy and Virginia’s “call me maybe”-esque makeover scenes and songs! Inspired by @cornerofhell

Virginia

This would be the day of her and Santa’s wedding. Nothing was as set in stone as it would be in this moment and Virginia didn’t really have a choice of what she would wear, she got some input but the E.S.O took care of most of it. The song of choice is-

Song 2 by Blur-

you all may know it as the “WOO HOO!” song, lmao. It was written as satire on pop music of the day and many of the lyrics, I feel, relate to the feeling of drugs and addiction that comes with fame. For Virginia, the grandiosity of it is also a symbol of the new power she’s coming in to despite the lack of control.

She stands in front of the mirror in her own clothes for the last time that day and takes a bump off of her coke nail, the first few strums of the guitar play and has the powder goes up her nose we break out in to-

The rock guitar and drums kick back in, the elven satanic order enter the room and begin to dress her in her norse costume. The camera is cut quickly and everything happens at double speed. Only through it all, her face is still and facing forward, unchanging through it all.

As things come to a close and she’s finally all cleaned up and new they leave her alone once more, the-

-of the ending hyping her up to go out there and bind her body, soul, and being to a man she loves but is certain she’s scared of in front of a million demons.

The song is Suzy Snowflake by Rosemary Clooney, was there ever any doubt???

Now, this is after the kidnapping, transformation, her first human meal, all of it. Jack has gotten her all of her old clothes from her room, her makeup and jewelry too. She just got done putting on a fashion show for him which the audience would only see the beginning of as it very quickly descends in to…the opposite of a fashion show if you get what I mean. It’s the least she can do to thank him for making sure she can have a little bit more of her familiar life style.

The scene takes place a little later once they’ve finished and Suzy is about to sit down in front of the mirror when Jack stops her, telling her he has another special gift for her.

“I want to see you in it when I’m back doll, since your little show got cut short.”

He says he has to run so he leaves her with this big white box. She gets down on her knees and slowly begins to open it, cue music.

“Here comes Suzy Snowflake

Dressed in a snow-white gown

Tap, tap, tappin' at your windowpane

To tell you she's in town”

She opens the box and inside is a long white sweater dress, white furry heeled boots, and an expensive fur coat.

“Here comes Suzy Snowflake

Soon you will hear her say

I haven't long to stay”

With an almost uncharacteristic jubilation she gets up and begins to put it all on until for the first time she’s in the full “Suzy Snowflake” get up. She loves the way the fur feels on her skin, she’s missed the feeling of high heels, the coat flows out like an extravagant cape as she spins around in it.

“If you want to make a snowman

I'll help you make one, one, two, three

If you want to take a sleigh ride-“

Suzy looks at herself in the mirror, for the first time since she was turned she really takes a look at her new face. Everything feels…right. Suzy studies her hands, clawed and covered in thick frostbite. She smiles wide, her jaw unhinging and ripping her cheeks, but she does not feel pain. It’s like her body was always meant to do it. She feels more beautiful than ever.

“-Whee! The rides on me!”

She closes her eyes and begins to imagine what she can do now that she’s truly free. We flash between images of her being splashed with blood, in an almost cinematic sense like it’s being thrown on her with a bucket, images of her cutting away at something small and beneath her, images of her beginning to pull up viscera and stuffing her face with it. The song starts to repeat its I guess chorus?

Look at her tumblin' down

Bringing joy to ev'ry girl and boy

Suzy's come to town.

Here comes Suzy Snowflake

Dressed in a snow-white gown

Tap, tap, tappin' at your windowpane

It’s clear that some time has passed in her state of euphoria and as the song begins to fade out Jack returns. She can sense that he’s returned with her budding cryoscience and runs out to greet him. As the song slowly fades out with an instrumental peak she grabs his hand and says something to him the music drowns out, leading him out of the door.

It’s safe to assume she likes his gift and wants to take it for a spin.

Virginia usually enjoys being hyper-independent, but in very intimate situations, she likes being cared for. Santa washing her hair and massaging her scalp is one of the best feelings almost as good as when he braids it for her afterwards, since no one ever taught her how as a kid.

Musical Skill (specifically singing and the violin): Her mother's lover was Suzy's music teacher so it was mostly an excuse to keep him around as long as possible, also because Eloise felt Suzy would be easier to marry off if she had some ladylike skills

Are Jack and Suzy better parents or Santa and Virginia?

This is such an interesting question because it entirely depends on how you quantify a good parent!

Santa and Virginia did not want their children, they don’t abuse their children in any way they have everything they could ever want. However, they are incredibly emotionally neglectful. Their kids are more like room mates who they are fond of and live in their house. Virginia tries to be soft with the children and she will stand up for them if Santa takes things to far but her limit is very thin before she gets the nanny to take over. Santa will engage with his children but really only to stroke his own ego. He was more than happy to read to Rudy if it was from the Book of Claus. He shows clear favoritism when Angelica takes a higher liking to Viking culture. Despite this Santa has no qualms straight up rejecting his children when they try to push him in to the role of an actual father, he has no intention on ever being “Daddy.” Virginia favors Rudy because he’s autistic like she is, he’s quieter, he’s like her mini me. Their relationship with their kids is much better when they’re grown up enough to talk to like adults though. They don’t diminish their children’s accomplishments they just have kind of underwhelming response to them. Everyone in the family is cogently aware that Rudy only exists because of Santa’s failure and shame brought to his father and Angelica was an entirely unwanted accident. They don’t talk about it.

Jack and Suzy on the other hand, their children also have nothing to worry about when it comes to being provided for. They go above and beyond for their children in nearly every way. The frost kids are incredibly lucky in the sense that they have Jack. Sure he’s a bigoted old man but he deeply loves his children, he loves his sons and daughters in different ways but he spends a lot of time with them and is happy to have them hang out with him while he does his dad thing on the couch. On the other hand, he is still an old bigot. Between him and Suzy the Frost kids have expectations upon expectations put upon their shoulders. Expectations of gender roles, expectations to live up to their father’s legacy of bloodthirst and strength, expectations to be the (kind of) pure blooded high society children their mother expects. Suzy sees her children more like prized pets, she feels as close to an approximation of “love” for them as she can but not nearly to the extent she does for their father. She has no qualms using emotional whiplash to “train them.” Both parents absolutely pin their kids against each other but Jack is kind of doing it on accident, he thinks he’s teaching his kids a healthy sense of competition. Suzy is fully aware she’s orchestrating her children to trust her above all else, even if they have ally ships and love for each other.

Personality: 

The theme that has defined most of Virginia’s life is her position as an outsider. After her parents death she was left completely alone, any innocence that she had leftover from their warmth snuffed out faster than she could find her footing in the world around her. Apart from being physically different in a way that intimidated her fellow elf she got the sense that everyone she interacted with could tell she was different on the inside too and hated her for it.

For some time she still held on to hope and would jump at any chance to be included no matter how many times it went horribly south. Even still, it was then as it is now, she would wait to be approached. She’s the type to stand off to the side at a social event hanging out with the host's pet, deeply, awfully, terribly aware of how much she stands out. As she got older she didn’t become any better at social cues but avoided more situations like these by diving deep into the opposite extreme.

Virginia is incredibly paranoid and quick to anger. Physical violence is almost always her first resort whether the elf in question actually did anything to deserve it or not. She finds it hard to trust people in general and is very easy to offend, constantly believing that the other party intends to slight her, as though it wouldn’t make sense for her to be treated otherwise. Which gets in the way of genuine attempts from others to build a relationship with her. On the other hand she offends others as well but not usually on purpose. She sometimes messes up when showing she cares by doing too little or too much because she just doesn't have the experience. However, her attempts are incredibly genuine and heartfelt. 

The aspects of her paranoia not reinforced by her fellow elves is something she developed as a result of her trauma and circumstances. Except, it's made much worse by her drug use. Santa is a cruel boss and the hours are long and arduous. Most elves turn to substances both magical and non to get through it. Virginia is no different but she turned to it because of her intense grief. It made it so she could work non stop. Not only could she surround herself with the things that made her happy without taking a break, meaning she didn't have to think about the hole of her parents absence, but she could funnel the anger into even further physical violence. A give and take she's personally "happy" with. Her career as a sleigh mechanic is one of the few things that brings her genuine joy, which is very uncommon amongst the elves. In spite of no elf really wanting to take it on she not only rose the ranks before she courted Santa, but she's a very good manager to her apprentices. When they get over the initial fear (both the unfounded ones and the founded ones that she might punch them), they admire how passionate she is about her job. The way a new wrench she hasn't gotten before can make her stomp around and kick her feet with splendor is off-putting to her smaller coworkers but a beautiful sight to those who truly know her. She also has a tendency to repeat words in order to self soothe, but also to help her brain remember important information. Oftentimes she'll remember a lot more about a day if she got a new tool or completed a project. 

The usually quiet and erratically reserved woman becomes an open book when she's speaking to someone she trusts. Virginia will share anything and everything about her interests, going on for some time, the boundless energy repressed inside her bursting out with joyous movements. When she does find someone she can not only trust but who makes a genuine effort to understand her, it's nigh impossible to get her to betray them. Even in exchange for a quick thrill. She becomes the type of friend who'll agree with you even when you’re blatantly wrong. Not to mention she’s a great listener, even if it is partially because she’s terrified of losing whatever valuable connection she’s made. Virginia seeks validation when she can get it, because of her naturally overbearing and crass personality, this is usually from misogynistic men. It isn’t something she has the words for or something she’s ever thought about, but the concept of romance intrigues her. She isn’t too picky, unconditional love would be wonderful, but she doesn’t mind having to work for it. Someone who will return the care and fierce protection she provides. It can be tiring being the beast of the colosseum all the time. Virginia can even be gentle! Believe it or not. Settle down, be a wife, and er, ok maybe not the kids. They’re loud and overwhelming. Maternal instincts just aren’t something she has. She tries to be good with kids when the situation calls for it though, good with small vulnerable things. In another life she has more of a reason and a desire to show the compassion she has deep deep deep deep down. This isn’t that life.

Marrying Santa blew the doors wide open for her. It wasn't that she no longer had to work if she didn't want to, she very much wanted to continue her passion. It was the foreboding fact that she no longer had to show restraint. She no longer has to control her anger, worry about consequences, worry about who's deserving, learn to regulate her emotions, well at least not around the other elves. In her eyes they were never going to give her a chance and there isn’t an individual amongst them worthy of the air they steal from her. Even elves who weren't even born when she was growing up. She’s gone off the deep end after turning her back on the elves the same way they turned away from her. She’s hellbent on making every elf pay for what just a few did to her. A self fulfilling prophecy with a hungry smile. 

Likes: Butterflies, mechanic work, vehicles in general especially motorcycles, honestly general repair maintenance, cooking when she can do it on her own time, intense sport, wrestling, boxing, any excuse to beat someone up, illegal substances, thrill seeking, pretty much anything that she wouldn’t be likely to survive if she was a human, physical pressure, fat people. 

Dislikes: Feeling like people are talking about her behind her back, loud noises, being rushed and general unpredictability, children she HAS to take care of, getting too hot or too cold, being forced to talk about her feelings, being treated like she’s stupid, having her morals interrogated.

Light Manipulation: The ability to create small sparkling beams of light that reach a bit farther, wider, and brighter than a flashlight with no limit in color. 

Teleportation: The ability to magically teleport to specific mapped out coordinates, because of her mixed heritage she’s limited to shorter distances and is more like an intense increase in speed than actual teleportation.

Lock Bypassing: The ability to gain access to any locked location on the human plane and a limited number of locations on supernatural planes. 

Weaknesses: Taking longer to heal from injury than a full blooded christmas elf, her height makes fall injuries have greater impact, dependency to substances, a lack of construct creation that allows other elves to create toys or extra supplies for their jobs.

As you know of course Suzy can’t actually get drunk in the normal way, she drinks for the flavor. I don’t know if she’d necessarily like fruity flavors, maybe the drinks flavored like cake and candy would be more her style? The vodka thing is 100% though she loves drinking stuff like that or everclear for the flavor and the scent, honestly I think she WOULD drink rubbing alcohol.

I was going to bring up Viking mead but I don’t think it’s fun if Santa likes EVERYTHING from Viking culture you know, I think it’s in character that he would be pretentious and see mead as swill despite it being what he was raised on

OOo this is gonna be good. -Jack definitely would be a casual beer drinker, probably a glass of scotch or whiskey for dinner. I also imagine he would deliberately buy bottom shelf liquor for like nostalgias sake -Suzy would either be straight vodka for its sterile taste (that shit is basically rubbing alcohol) or those fruity like fishbowl cocktails with the glowing ice cubes simply cause theyre pretty (also huge amounts lol) -Santa for some reason strikes me as a wine drinker, i like to imagine that he picked the habit up in hell and finds human wine to be basically juice. What wine can compared to like the fuckin fermented blood of sinners -Virginia just straight liquor, she thinks mixers are for pussies and has a taste for barrel aged liquors, probably beer too but it would be like, by the 12 pack
