Amor-perfeito, a forma aberta e os maravilhosos coloridos destas flores tão apreciadas enchem de alegria o jardim durante todo o ano. Existem centenas de formas disponíveis com flores em diversos tons: do dourado, ao laranja, carmim, roxo, preto, azul, lilás e branco. Muitas são bicolores ou mesmo tricolores. Tradicionalmente são vivazes compactas, de crescimento em tufos, com flores muito bonitas e às vezes perfumadas como é o caso da Violeta odorota. Viola tricolor é uma das muitas espécies de plantas que têm ciclotídeos e características citotóxicas, e com estas características significa que ela pode ser usada para tratar cancro.  Viola tricolor é uma planta que tem uma longa história de uso em fitoterapia. Foi recomendada, entre outros usos, como um tratamento para a epilepsia, asma, doenças de pele e eczema. Possui propriedades expectorantes, então é utilizada no tratamento das doenças pulmonares, como bronquite e coqueluche. É também um diurético e é utilizada no tratamento de reumatismo e da cistite. As flores têm sido usadas para fazer corantes amarelo, verde e azul-esverdeado, enquanto as folhas são usadas para fazer um indicador químico.

É uma flor bienal selvagem eurasiática, É uma pequena planta rasteira que atinge no máximo 15 cm de altura, com flores de cerca de 1,5 cm de diâmetro. Cresce nos prados e nas fazendas abandonadas, principalmente em solos ácidos ou neutros. É geralmente encontrada onde há sombra parcial. Floresce de Abril a Setembro. As flores da viola tricolor ou amores perfeitos podem ser roxas, azuis,vermelhas, amarelas ou brancas. É hermafrodita e auto-fértil, polinizada pelas abelhas.

O Amor-Perfeito é uma planta herbácea nativa da Europa. Ela cresce do outono até a primavera nos campos sombreados de terras montanhosas não cultivadas, prados, campos de colheita e pastagens. Na Antiguidade, foi reconhecido como uma poção de amor e símbolo da memória. A lenda grega conta que Zeus, o rei dos deuses, estava apaixonado por uma linda rapariga chamada Lo. A fim de protegê-la da ira de Hera, sua esposa, ele transformou-a numa jovem novilha. Para alimentá-la com a grama mais delicada, ele ordenou que a Terra criasse em sua honra uma flor digna dela.

Como cultivar Em canteiros, vasos e jardineiras de qualquer tamanho, em local ensolarado e com substrato rico em composto orgânico, solto e bem drenado. Geralmente floresce no outono e primavera. Pode manter a floração no inverno se a região tem um inverno ameno. A floração normalmente cessa nos meses quentes de verão. Os amores-perfeitos cultivados nos jardins actualmente são principalmente híbridos, resultantes do cruzamento da espécie Viola tricolor com outras espécies do género Viola. Actualmente existe um grande número de cultivares, com flores de muitas cores que formam um grande número de padrões, geralmente combinando três cores, mas também bicolores e de uma só cor ou até mesmo com quatro cores. Em locais de clima ameno é considerada fácil de cultivar, podendo ser cultivada em vasos, jardineiras ou nos jardins, isoladamente ou em grupos. Viola tricolor, known as Pansy, is originally from Eurasia and has several symbolisms, one of which is eternal love.

Also known as Trindade herb for the variety of 3 colors. They prefer cold climates, making the winter more beautiful.

When offered, they convey the message of a love that will never be forgotten, whose memories will remain in thought.

They are also associated with reflection, thinking and loving memories, so much so that in France it is called "Pensée".

There is a legend around Zeus and a lover named Io, from where the name "pansy" originated. Afraid that Hera would find out about Io, Zeus turned her into a heifer that was grazing at her feet. Zeus felt sorry for Io and afraid she would be upset about just eating grass, he decided to create the flower for her to also eat. Zeus gave the flower the name Io, with the phonetic evolution came to be called Viola, which responds to pansy.

Another legend is that Eros was very fond of pansies that were initially only white, but Aphrodite decided to paint them purple to irritate Eros so that he lost interest in flowers. Still in Greek mythology, the violas are dedicated to Athena, goddess of military strategy, wisdom and the arts.

I saw her outside one day and I said "What a beautiful driveway you have! Great job!" She told me she didn't do anything. I said that was a perfect thing to do: nothing at all.
