logged onto gw2 and apparently it's orion's third in-game birthday today! it's WILD to think i've had him for three years

i remember, three years ago, when my gw2 blog was still guide-for-the-lost, we'd just gotten some of the EoD elite spec beta stuff, and i was fascinated by the new rev spec. i knew basically fuck all about the kurzicks and luxons, let alone viktor and archemorus themselves, at the time, but how could i NOT be fascinated by the idle dialogue people had managed to document for them during the beta? gay ghosts who were enemies in life? in MY guild wars 2?

so i went "haha, wouldn't it be funny to make a rev for the new spec that's related to them both"

and so i made orion, months before EoD even released, because i thought it would be funny. not even knowing just how much i'd come to love viktor and archemorus, and the kurzicks and luxons by extension.

and here i am, three years later, having basically built my entire gw2 identity around vindicator, viktor/archemorus, and my dumb idiot baby orion. i've gone on hours long rambles to friends about them, i've headcanoned backstories and families for both viktor and archemorus, drawn them multiple times, and i've probably thought more about them than anyone at anet has.

i experienced a category 12 blorbo autism event like i've never experienced before over those two and orion, and i don't think i'll ever be the same

happy third birthday orion. congrats on rivaling myrr as my fave gw2 oc, and basically becoming my fave character to play. i love you buddy, and your weird gay ancestors.

had a dream where there was a tv show about viktor and archemorus……

i had a dream last night where anet added new idle dialogue to the legendary alliance stance and while I don’t remember any specifics, one of the idle convos heavily implied that viktor/archemorus was canon…..

sometimes i think about the fact that the jade wind was caused by a stolen magic of dwayna

and i really wonder how viktor feels about that.

was just wandering around the kurzick cemetery in echovald and i'm reminded of just how much i love that the zu heltzers loved their wallows so much.

the fact that countess danika's two wallows have gravestones near hers... i'm fucking crying cat emoji about it

archemorus and viktor decided to talk

and I nearly burst into tears

OKAY OKAY OKAY IM ON DESKTOP NOW SO I CAN SHOW OFF WHAT I DISCOVERED A FEW MONTHS AGO

i had been wandering around dragon's end on orion and at some point decided to pause and try to get some screenshots of the animation that plays when u use the spear of archemorus elite skill

and i made some interesting discoveries!

(shout out to the random rat critters in the area that gave me something to huck a spear at lmao)

one: they literally just copy-pasted the orange tinted version of the elite luxon warrior set from gw1 for archemorus lmao sir your polygons

two: THEY MADE A FANCY UNIQUE MODEL FOR THE SPEAR????????? cause it's absolutely not any spear/staff/etc model that already exists in the game!! it doesn't match any existing skin/model!! it's totally new!

also this is what the spear looked like in gw1!! just as reference!!!

i really don't know why they made a fancy new model for it beyond i guess just making the elite skill Look Cool (but then why not give archemorus himself a new model........) but i'm begging anet to release the spear skin as a gem store item or something. anet please let me have the spear. PLEASE GIVE ME MY COOL BONE SPEAR

to anyone out there who has a revenant but hasn’t unlocked vindicator

I urge you to go unlock vindicator so you can listen to viktor and archemorus banter

even if you never intend to play the spec, hearing them is so incredibly worth it
